Peter Parker

Peter cranked up the volume, letting the rap blare from his garbage second-hand speakers. He leaned back on the pillow resting at the head of his twin bed and closed his eyes. It had been a long day. First, he'd rushed in to work at 8:30 in the morning. He submitted his photos to Jameson and endured the boss's unhinged yelling. Jameson was in his 70's now. Peter was afraid the old man would give himself a heart attack! Then, at 10:00, Peter sneaked out of his cubicle and into the bathroom. He clicked a button on his watch, which released the metal casing that enveloped his body and became his suit. It wasn't exactly the Iron Spider suit, but an armored version of Peter's original suit. Tony had constructed it for Peter before...the event.

Suddenly, a vision flashed before Peter's eyes. Doctor Doom opening a portal. Iron Man flying in after him. Tony absorbing the energy to prevent a catastrophe that would level the city. Tony exploding before everyone's eyes...including Peter's.

Peter awoke with a start. He'd nodded off on the bed while thinking about his day. Every night, Peter was afraid to sleep. He could go out and battle thugs, thieves, and supervillains all day, but he couldn't face his nightmares. Sometimes they were about Gwen. Other times, his deceased Aunt May. These days dreams about Tony were becoming more frequent.

Peter heard the dinging of the alarm on his phone. Armed robbery at 56th Street and 2nd Ave, it read. At the same time, Peter saw an incoming phone call from Liz Allen, his new girlfriend.

Crap. We're going out for that show, aren't we. Unfortunately for Liz, Peter had to make choices. He texted her that he was busy at the office and couldn't come today. Peter clicked his watch to don his suit, and swung out of the window into the night.

"What is on the agenda?"

Spoken in low baritone, the voice carried a gravitas matched by a body that matched it. The aide it was directed seemed to be dwarfed by the Wilson Fisk's presence. His large dark suited body seemed to overfill the chair he sat in, his large hands balancing like meaty hammers on the desk in front of him. The years had been kind to him; even in 2033, he was the very image of his imposing youth, even on the cusp of his 50th birthday.
As the aide spoke, the daily schedule of appointments, assignments and projects rolled off her tongue. Her North English accent was one that Wilson had always enjoyed hearing; it seemed to sing out any word with boundless energy.

"...the past meetings with representatives from Oscorp have started to reflect their success; profit is up nearly 63% as of last quarter, with allowances made for the daily 'issue'."

Issue, thought Fisk, his eyes attaining some frigidness at their edges. That is one word for Spiderman. The now truly grown man was a prick in his side. But like inclement weather or Federal raids, it seemed to be the price of doing business in the Eastern seaboard. He accepted that fact. That didn't mean he'd grown to like it. His abrupt standing caused the sudden silence of the aide, as he moved away from the desk to stare out the window pane behind him. She watched his thoughtful movement with brown-eyed curiosity.

"What news of our 'investors' from the good businesses on 56th Street and 2nd Ave?"

Wilson did not turn around, speaking over his massive shoulder.

"Our 'investors'," state the aide, "have made themselves known, and are making 'withdrawals'."

A pause entered the air, broken by Fisk.

"Any 'issues'?"

"None... at the moment."

She almost didn't include that last part. You had to watch your P's and Q's around The Boss. But omitting things, could be just as bad as saying too much. An idle hand wave out of the corner of her eye brought her back to the present. After a short head bow, she took the hint to leave without another word to the most powerful man in the city. As the double doors began to shut behind her as she exited the room, she threw a look over her shoulder, and couldn't help but shiver at the reflection she caught. In all her time serving as his aide though, she could count all the times Wilson G. Fisk had smiled on one hand.

Make that two hands now...

Ethan Edwards
Hell's Kitchen

Ethan pulled up to the apartment in his taxi waiting for his next 'customer'. The man walked over to the cab and opened the door smelling of alcohol and gun smoke as per usual with his type. "I'm Ethan Edwards and I'll be your driver today if you like my driving, please leave me a good review." The man's eyes had a moment of shock before settling back to normalcy, unknown to him Ethan knew exactly why. Ethan turned around to his customer "So where are you going today?"
"Midtown, now hurry up I don't have all day."
"Alright, I'll be going." Ethan drove to their location as the taxi cab became cooler making the passenger visibly uncomfortable, but he stayed silent as their drive carried on. "Have you heard about my father Jacob?" The man stayed silent slowly getting nervous as the cab's temperature dropped "My father was a great man, really fantastic. He paid the bills, cared for his wife, all of that and do you know what happened to him?" The man could see his own breath as he began to panic. "He died that's what happened and you helped that happen. Now how do you think I feel about that." The man saw Edward 's previous outfit turn into something else before his eyes as Edward turned around. "I'm very very mad about that Jack." Jack began screaming as his former taxi driver began freezing the area around him, and then it was over, everything was back to normal, the temperature the same as the inside of a humid car as he began breathing heavily. Ethan turned around to Jack "Are you alright Jack? You look like you saw a ghost."
"Yeah, yeah I'm fine. I must have fallen asleep and had a nightmare." But Jack remembered something he had never told Ethan his name. Jack slowly looked up and then the Disciple struck re-chilling the car and grabbing Jack by the neck freezing him with hellish ice. Once Jack was little more than an ice statue Ethan grabbed Jack's wallet before stopping and pushing Jack's frozen body from his cab. "Thanks for the tip." He drove away to go back to more normal taxi work.

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Friday, 16th August 20192033

"Welcome to Les Food Haus. How many seats would you like?" Liam asked a bunch of businessmen who were having lunch.
"Table of 4." Liam led the way to the only empty slot left. Les Food Haus was a popular restaurant, and it sure was popular with the workers from downtown Philly. After taking their orders, he went to place the order.
Liam looked up to the businessmen. They probably had high salaries to make ends meet. Well, for him, they squandered their hard-earned money on a terrace. Not a very smart way to reward myself, considering the apartment was already good. But still, at least we could have some luxury.
Okay, Liam isn't mental, nor does he have family problems. He dropped out of high school to pursue acting. And that, well, didn't end up very well(OOC Note: I didn't state this in the bio). No one chose him for all the auditions that he went to. And looking at the numbers it was depressing. Well, Liam still had to earn money right? He became a waiter at this high end restaurant. Cool huh? Problem is, he always meets incinsiderate customers. And its always him. His other colleagues had no trouble with their customers, and they even praised my fellow workers.
Another reason why he didn't go to uni was because he was afraid his secret would be exposed. He was a Cougar. And no, Cougar isn't the name of a gang. He was the Mountain God. Well, somehow he was picked, according to his mother. He didn't want to remember it though. It was too disturbing.

Soon enough, it was 12 midnight. The last customers had just left, so it was time to clean up. Usually, he was the last to leave, so he had to make sure everyhing was okay. Somehow, the manager left way earlier than the workers. From what Liam knew she didn't have kids. Thr manager was nice though. Sad thing she was engaged.
Usually walking alone in the middle of the nights while in the suburbs sounds dangerous. And it sure was. Usually he would Uber home or grab a cab, but hey, today was Friday! Gym doesn't open till 10, so...
Liam was still quite some distance away from his house when he heard footsteps. Sensing danger, he moved faster. However this time there were not just one person behind. There were at least 8 or 9. Turning behind, he realised he was being followed. By this gang. It was small, butbthey still looked very tough.
"Go get his stuff. Now." The guy in the middle said. It wasn't long before Liam could register what was going to happen. He ran away, trying to make further the distance between them and him.
"We will avenge you for last time, Liam Fernandez!" Liam was shocked. How did the dude know his name? Then, when he looked closer, he saw something horrfyingly coincidental. They were the same people who triggered Cougar that day. Memories flooded back, but there was no time for bedtime stories. If he didn't run, then he'd be dead. As he was running away, Liam could feel a tingling sensation in his body. When he looked down, he could see a bright red light glowing. Slowly, Liam morphed into a cougar-human. It was time for Cougar.
Liam thought this was something soft, but suddenly he could see their thoughts.
That guy keeps thinking of the mafia. Why though I don't know. Liam thought. Wait, he could read people's minds. That would be helpful, I guess.
Being a middle school geek and all, Liam knew cougars could run real fast, but only for a while. That would be fast enough to distance him and the gangsters apart. Running, Cougar dashed past the gang members. Though, it was by bad luck that he met into a wall.
A dead end. Goddammit. Cougar thought as he looked at the distance. Seeing that they were nowhere, he proceeded to take his belongings, which he left.
"Your stuff are here, bitch! Come and get it!" First, that was insulting, since cougars were never dogs and, well Cougar was male. Cougar, somehow managed to jump up 4 storeys in the air and KO one of the members. 1 down, 4 to go. He slashed another incoming target. 2 down. Using his judo skills, Cougar managed to wrestle the heck out of the third person. Cougar ran away, but when doof #4 came to him, Cougar twisted in the other direction, leaving him with two twisted ankles. Boy, these people really need to get fit. That left the one and only leader. Cougar was tired, so he would rather rest, but with the leader carrying a knife, how could he? He tried to catch up, except you really can't when youbwasted your energy. When he recovered, he realised the leader was heading straight at Cougar's, aka Liam's house. Oh no. Mother and Sister were asleep. Cougar was at crossroads. He stopped for a while, but when he realises the the leader was already in the driveway, Cougar gave chase. By the time he reached home, he became Liam again, but topless. When he stepped onto the living room, he would see something he wished he hadn't seen. The corpse of his mother and sister.

Jack Dredd

It was not at all a very good day for Jack. First, he'd been kicked out of his friend's house for practically no reason, besides a few missed rent payments. Then, he'd been late to his job delivering pizzas, something his boss was none too happy with. And finally, he was being shot at by at least 7 different people.

He'd been listening in on police radio when a bank robbery had been reported. No longer bothering with a disguise, or indeed, armor, he showed up in civilian dress, casually teleported through the police barrier, and walked up to the first robber he saw.

"Hello there. Is that money yours?"

The robber had whipped around, instinctively swinging his gun, but before he had even carried the whole way through, Jack had teleported behind him and gave him a decent concussion with a crowbar.

The rest, of course, noticed him, and opened fire without a second thought; they knew all about Jack, and what he could do. Of course, it's incredibly hard to hit a target that's in any random space around you, so they failed pretty miserably, one even managing to shoot one of his comrades.

Knocking them all out in short order, he left them tied up. Before he could bail out, though, the cops were in, guns drawn.

Shit, he thought to himself, hands going up.

"Freeze! NYPD, on the ground!"

"Sorry officer, no can do," said Jack as he teleported first onto the chandelier, then the roof. He proceeded to run along the rooftops to what he judged was a safe distance, and immediately passed out. See, blood loss does that to a person, and Jack had taken a bullet to the thigh. Even with his teleporting antics, he couldn't dodge them all.

Midtown Manhattan
Spider-Man

Peter flipped and landed upon the truck parked outside the Oscorp warehouse where the robbery was in progress. Spidey crashed through the window glass of the warehouse to land in the midst of heavy automatic gunfire. Oscorp guards lay dead as the thugs hauled crates of tech and weaponry out the door. The cops weren't here yet.

"Seems the officers have been going a little heavy on the donuts these days," Spidey remarked. At the far end of the room, Peter spotted the leader of the band. Dressed in padded yellow and black garb with electric shock waves sent out from his fists, Spidey immediately recognized him: Shocker.

"Hey, Oven Mittens!" Peter swung down upon the villainous scum and gifted him a nice boot to the face. He leaped down from his web and onto the metal floor in front of Shocker.

"Do they call you 'the Shocker' because you have the nerve to wear that get up in public? But then again, who am I to talk?" Shocker wasn't pleased by the comment. He lunged toward Peter and swung his fists. Spidey dodged the first two, but Shocker landed two sizzling electric punches.

Spidey slid through his legs and caught him in web, flinging him to the wall. At that moment, his spider sense was tingling like crazy. He ducked just in time to avoid the barrage of bullets coming from a machine gun-wielding thug behind him. Spidey swung over to him.

"Careful with that gun buddy, you fire that prematurely and women are gonna talk!" He punched the guy and snapped the weapon over his knee.

Spidey turned back to Shocker. "Seriously, who comes to a city full of superheroes to rob stuff? It's kinda insulting, actually."

Shocker pushed himself up from the ground and groaned. "Do you EVER shut up?"

"No, my fans expect a certain amount of quipping. Sorry. But, if I got a nickel for every time I get that comment, I might finally shut my trap!" Spidey rolled out of the way of some more bullets, but he got hit by a blast of energy. It was Shocker's fists. Again.

Shocker walked over to Peter and picked him up by the throat. "This operation was supposed to go smoothly. You'll pay for making a fool of me while the Kingpin's watching."

"Can't I make a fool of you for free?" Spidey sputtered. THWACK! Another hit.

Spidey lay on the ground. He was a bit fatigued; it had been a long day. He saw a bunch of the Kingpin goons approaching him, guns in hand.

He'd lost this round.

New York City
The White Dragon

It was late in the evening, darkness beginning creep over the docks. A small-time villain known as Night-Eagle was walking about the docks, talking to his accomplishes and finishing up the details of this trade. He had slowly been building a name for himself, starting out as hired help for the likes of the Kingpin and other better established villain. Night-Eagle was about to shake hands with his contact, starting a new business venture into illegal organ harvesting. As their palms were about to touch, he stopped, turning his head ever so slightly. He could hear a very faint sound, like a slight whistling growing louder and louder.

"GET DOWN!" he yelled, pushing his accomplice away and dropping to the ground, looking at where the bullet hit the ground.

A few moments passed before another round hit the ground near his head, his enhanced hearing the only thing keeping him alive at that point. If he hadn't been able to hear the ammo, he would already be dead. Night-Eagle bolted towards a couple crates stacked on one another, watching carefully, trying to figure out who, what, and where his opponent was. That is, until he felt the heavy hand on his shoulder and the barrel of a pistol against the back of his head. He turned to see who had gotten the drop on him.

"You're a quick one." a deep voice said.

Night-Eagle looked, seeing a man in a white helmet which covered his head. From the helmet long tendrils of red flowed regally behind his white jacket. His hands were clad in black gauntlets. He recognized this man. It was the White Dragon.

"If you're here..." Night-Eagle began, his eyes going wide as the pistol began to suck in energy.
"If I'm here, that means you're out of luck." the White Dragon said, readying his finger on the trigger, "Rest in peace."

With that, the White Dragon pulled his trigger. As the body fell to the ground he looked at the others who were pulling their own weapons.

"You aren't my target. Leave. Now." he barked, lifting the now dead Night-Eagle over his shoulder.

He took a breath, centering himself as he jumped, taking an impossible distance with ease. Within a few leaps he was gone.

A Few Hours Later...

Elias Masterson entered his apartment, tossing the briefcase full of cash onto the coffee table and placing the helmet beside it. The long tendrils flowed to the ground and gathered there.

"I will never understand why they added that to this perfectly good helmet." he muttered, undressing and dropping onto the bed.

Daredevil

Matt was pissed. There it had been, a perfectly good bank robbery waiting for him. He could tell it was a robbery by the sirens and the police radio. And then this stupid little shit had walked into the middle of it. Matt was guessing this was some kid; he was too skinny to be a fully grown man. Matt was expecting that he'd have to jump in and save the dumb civilian's ass, but the kid surprisingly had a firm grasp over the situation. That, and he could teleport. Matt was extremely irritated that his catch of the day had been picked off by some scrawny kid, but he cooled off when he realized that guy was lying on the building rooftop, and, judging by his groans and the sonar image showing he was grabbing his leg, the kid was bleeding his leg out.

Looks like I'm saving his ass after all.

Daredevil shot his baton's grapple hook onto the side of the building and swung onto the roof. Police choppers were closing in on them.

"NYPD! On the ground, hands behind your head!" An officer yelled into his bullhorn. Matt rolled his eyes and stuck his middle finger up at the cops. Grabbing the kid by his collar, Daredevil leaped off the building, grabbing the edge of a fire escape ladder on the other side. He jumped to the Hell's Kitchen pavement. His motorbike was parked nearby. Resting the kid on the front of the bike, Matt revved the engine and zoomed off, away from the blaring sirens behind him.

He climbed through the apartment window, still dragging the kid behind him. He threw the kid on his couch, ignoring the cookie crumbs strewn over the sofa. He pulled the kid's pants off two gauge the damage of the bullet. It wasn't terrible, but it had to be treated now. Matt pulled tweezers out from his bathroom drawer and carefully extracted the bullet. He then cleaned the blood with a towel. Then he began the stitches...with no anesthetic. That sure as hell woke the kid up. Finally, he wrapped the wound in plastic to keep air from escaping and topped it off with a bandage.

Matt was no ace medic, but he'd been forced to learn how to self-operate. It was the nature of his job. He plopped down on the couch next to the kid, turning to face him.

"Oh. Hey. I'm not bleeding to death anymore. Thanks for that. I'm Jack, Jack Dredd. I'm assuming you're Daredevil, right?"

Jack was in a hell of a lot of pain, both from a gunshot wound and then surgery without any anesthetic, but it still hadn't bled the sense of humor out of him.

"Thanks for, you know, not letting me die. And also getting me away from the cops. Me and them have a dicey relationship. Also, can I have my pants back?" he asked.

"Take the trash in the back!"

The shout carried from Shocker as the regular hired muscle descended on the stunned web slinger. If everything went according to plan, they'd bound his wrists and legs, and throw him among the disarmed, still bleeding body pile of Oscorp Guards. That was the destiny for any who opposed them, and their agenda. Those not busying themselves with spider man, would continue with their robbery activities, under the direction of Shocker. With a smile, the villan was already looking forward to giving The Kingpin the good news: everything was going according to plan.

Matt chucked the jeans back to Jack. "You might as well put 'em on, nothing impressive to see without 'em..."

Matt sized the kid up. Scrawny as hell. He could sense the outline of spiky hair. He took a good whiff of him.

It was night and Disciple was on the hunt for mafiosos. They were stealing tech for whatever reason, but he didn't really care about what they were stealing he just cared about making them pay. He dropped down and froze a man taking guard and threw him at another taking down another. Without another second he kicked in the door to the warehouse and made spears of ice which he began throwing at any nearby guards "KINGPIN! REVEAL YOURSELF!" Disciple continued onward throwing his ice spears at whoever would show themselves.

New York
11:00 PM

The party was going excellently, the champagne served, the masks donned, the musicians perfect. It was to be the most extravagant masquerade ball of the century, the talk of the town for decades to come!

Hosted on the top floor and rooftop of one of the tallest buildings of the New York skyline, the party was to save the manufacturing company of the building it was held in. At least, that was what the delusional elderly businessman thought, still stuck in the days when a good party could get you the contacts you needed to turn a business around. Sure, it was a good party, but it was mostly a novelty to the people invited. Something to tell friends about when they were out to eat, but nothing more. Little did he know, the party would be the talk of the town, but definitely not the way he wanted.

Midnight

At first, there was confusion as to why the lights went out. Most thought it was some trick of the old man, a segue into some grand show. Some thought it was a power outage. None thought it was anything as sinister as what was about to transpire. In the dark, oddly bulky waiters slipped out of tuxedos to reveal combat armor, and guests were shocked to see them pull guns out of buckets of ice holding champagne. No shots were fired, none of the “get on the ground bravado”. This team was too professional for such grandstanding. Instead, they picked one guest at random, a young man who couldn’t have been older than 20, and slit his throat without a moment’s hesitation. The rest of the guests got the memo to stay down on the ground, and the mercenaries wasted no time in cable tying the guests, killing any who resisted.

A spotlight flashed on, momentarily blinding many of the guests. In its light stood a masked man, clad in blue and orange. The Taskmaster, his skull like mask illuminated in the glow of the spotlight. One of the mercenaries pulled out a camcorder, training it on him. The stream began playing on every billboard in Times Square and every other digital billboard in the city.

“People of New York. Our demands are simple. Twenty million in cash, on the roof of this building by midnight tomorrow,” he said, unholstering his pistol. “For every ten minutes after midnight tomorrow, a hostage dies”. To emphasize his point, he hauled a pretty young woman to her feet, and aimed the gun at her head.

“What’s your name, sweetheart?”

“M-Mary Johnson. Oh God, please don’t kill me!”

“Sorry. I need to make sure everyone gets the point.”

And with that he pulled the trigger, and the feed went dark.

NYPD Headquarters
2 AM

The chief of police gave a heavy sigh, having just briefed his subordinates on what was going on. He knew there was pretty much only one option, if bloodshed were to be avoided, considering Taskmaster were involved. He had a call to make, to a certain Kate Bishop.

Kate Bishop
Cassie Lang's Apartment in Brooklyn

"No."

That's all Kate had to say to the chief at first. After a bit of stunned silence, she explained herself.

"I'd be going in shorthanded. I don't have a team, I have one friend and she's not enough to take on Taskmaster. This is a seasoned criminal we're talking about. You need to give me a team, we need to have a plan."

The chief offered up an entire SWAT team.

"SWAT? You think SWAT would be enough to deal with Taskmaster? Hell no. I need a team. A superhero team. And not just unknown heroes, I need heavy hitters."

Kate was told by the officer that she'd have to find superheroes herself.

"Jesus fucking Christ, we registered most superheroes with the government for them to, what, act helpless when the time came? Guess I'll just do it myself." Kate slammed the hang up button and plopped down on the couch in a huff. She put her head in her hands.

"Cassie, if we don't do something, lots of innocent people are gonna die. And I can barely shoot right now. Jeez. I wish we just had some benevolent billionaire who could pay up the cash and let them go...oh wait the only benevolent billionaire we had is dead."

Kate wracked her brains for who she could call. Apart from herself and Cassie, the rest of the Young Avengers were either missing or wanted nothing to do with Kate or heroics. They needed a heavy hitter, an original hero...

"Spider-Man, perhaps? No, no, what am I thinking. He's ridiculous and irresponsible. Not right. Hulk is missing. Thor is depressed. Black Widow is dead. Tony is dead. Captain America is...alive. In Brooklyn." Kate turned to Cassie.

"Cassie, you're a Brooklynite. You know where Steve lives, right? I need you to hop over to his place and convince him to help us. His strategy and prowess will be really integral in this mission. In the meantime, I'll hack the television lines and get up my own broadcast. Hopefully Taskmaster won't see it, or else he'll be prepped."

Kate pulled out her laptop and did just that.

"Heroes of New York," she began, "We need heroes. The Young Avengers is restarting. If you're interested, meet us at the Avengers Compound upstate. You can take a train there. But be warned: if you don't have powers or aren't currently a hero, don't waste your time. We won't let you enter through the gate. We appreciate you answering the call, but this is serious stuff. If you are willing to step up, be at the compound by 8:00 AM tomorrow."

Kate signed out, ran out the door, hopped in her car and drove away. She needed to be at the Compound to see what resources were available.

Cassie Lang
Brooklyn

Cassie ran down her block and turned right. Brooklyn hadn't been her home for long, but it wasn't so different from the winding narrow streets of San Francisco. She ran up a street, barely dodging a zooming motorbike with drunk teenagers on it. She ran past the statues, past the buskers, past the small cafes, all the way into Greenpoint where Cap's nice big house was.

Cassie looked around the street. Probably wasn't this one. She kept running until she saw a US flag net to a door, but it wasn't Cap's place. It said "Ned Leeds" on it. She kept running until she spotted another flag. This time she ran up to the door that had "Steve Rogers" engraved deep in the wood. She banged on the door, since there wasn't a doorbell anywhere. "Steve! Steve! CAP!" After a minute of her yelling, the door opened to reveal...

Jack Dredd

Jack had been chilling in a back alley, trying to sleep through the cold night and the cold of blood loss, when he saw on a nearby billboard a call for heroes. A call for new Avengers. He'd been small time till then, never even fighting powered individuals. He'd been a glorified vigilante.

Now? He could be a real hero. And who was he to deny a call like that?

He approached one of the train lines, and when one passed he teleported to it, landing in between the cars. He never wasted money on fare. He settled in, nursing his leg. He wished he could catch some sleep, but on a moving train? Bad idea.

After a little bit of riding, he came to a spot close to an actual train station that could take him upstate, and teleported once again, this time into a mostly empty car. Settling into the seat, he promptly fell asleep, relying on his internal clock or a security guard to wake him up.

Isaac/Polaris
New Jersey

With a wrench in hand Isaac tightened a series of nuts and bolts on piping running through the unfinished wall. His company knew he did good and efficient job and trusted him to work alone, not that they had much choice with them being spread thin throughout the northern part of Jersey.

His secret was that when the time crunch was on Isaac could use his abilities to make up the difference, but today he was on time and he let himself enjoy the manual labor, using it as almost a meditation. He was so deep in the meditative state he almost didn’t notice the door open and the figure approach.

Turning swiftly he faced a teenager wearing a ski mask and holding a handgun aimed at his chest, he was sweating and shaking as well as a bit confused. The outside of the home was finished, he likely thought it was occupied and full of stuff to steal and was shocked to find only Isaac there. Reaching out subtly Isaac used his powers to prevent the firing pin from moving, the gun would be unable to fire but the kid wouldn’t know that. Isaac raised his hands slowly and spoke calmly.

“No need to hurt anyone alright, lets just stay calm here” Isaac words were probably only half heard by the youth “Just-- Just--- give me your wallet” the kid stuttered out. Isaac slowly reached in his pocket, took out his wallet removed his cash (roughly 60 bucks) and held it out in his hand. The kid swiped it with greed and desperation and Isaac let it go. The kid backed out slowly to the doorframe before running away. Isaac sighed and waited a few moments before walking over to the door and locking it. Finally he turned back and started his work once again… a scared kid didn’t deserve to get hurt.

Gwenpool
They never answered her, ever. She sent them emails weekly, no response, sent them actual mail, no response, tried to mail herself....that idea didn't work to well.....Now she's here, at their compound, trying to blow their gate down....She finished rigging the explosives and stood back to admire her work. "You know Gwen, for a girl who wasn't from this universe, you work extremely well here." She backs up and prepares to set them off....."The gates will go down with a bang in 3.....2.....1..." BOOOOM

What Jack hadn't been expecting when he arrived at Avengers compound was a massive explosion. Immediately assuming it was either an attack on the compound or a trap designed to lure in prospective heroes, he teleported forward, ready for a fight.

What he wasn't expecting was a woman dressed in a bright outfit standing outside the gates seeming incredibly nonchalant.

"Hey, who''re you!" he called out, regretting not grabbing a weapon before he came but remembering Daredevil's baton, still tucked in his waist band. He pulled it out and did his best not to hit any hidden buttons, not looking to take a grappling hook to a face.

Captain America

A face full of wrinkles, blonde hair that had been overtaken by grey, and a sour expression met the young girl at the door. Cap's breath reeked of whiskey. Scotch. Johnny Walker, Black Label. He'd been drinking too much lately, but that didn't stop him from retaining his signature politeness (albeit with a hint of gruffness).

"Yes, m'am?"

Isaac/Polaris
Avengers Compound

Image

Across the street from the Avengers Compound Isaac stood on a small building watching events to see who else showed up. If enough people showed up he wouldn't have to interact at all, join this folly but Taskmaster was a threat that couldn't be ignored.

Mulling his decision Isaac floated down quietly to the street level as the confrontation at the gate calmed down.

"Yeah, I got the message from that one girl. I was planning on just breaking in to show off my powers, but I guess your way works too," he said to her, extending a hand to shake. "Name's Jack."

Be it by luck or fate, Jack noticed the man floating down to the street dressed in full armor. Still holding the baton, albeit more loosely, he called out to him.

"Hey, are you going to try and kill us? Be nice to know in advance," he asked.
