I mean, China isn't unified right now, so, there would be some fighting, but, it would be much rather that something akin to the warring states but on smaller scale would happen as smaller and bigger warlords carve out individual kingdoms, of course if we manage to get the Xia dynasty to collapse

Bio: Drunken Lao was born from some backwards village and taken as a slave all within the first five years of his life. He learned how to work and was eventually given the right to be free as he killed a traitor and become part of the gang. Everyday was the same pillage, bloodshed, and wine that he was satisfied with the carnage. He got so good as being a drunken terror that he left the gang and raid by himself and other bandits started to follow him as he was a symbol of drunken chaos across the countryside.

Lao viewed this gathering of other criminals as a means of becoming a warlord, one that could raze the country and other warlords in a drunken haze of blood and loot.

Ok, I've spent all night thinking of an entire bloodline.

The first guy is a Shenist priest, who introduces oracle bones to the Chinese court (since it's Xia so I'm assuming before oracle bones, even if it isn't doesn't matter) and pledges to wipe out Wuism and Animalism

Later on in the Yellow Turban or Three Kingdoms I'll have a Sima Yi or Gungsun Zan type guy

Then when Buddhaism arrives there'll be another version of Sanzang who goes on a very non-fictional and realistic journey to the west (to eastern India or something).

I might also have a trader who goes on the Silk Road if the religious guy doesn't work
(I don't want to be in China because of the horrors the other players might commit)

And in the Qing or 1800s the guy can be apart of a rebellion like the Taiping or Boxers

Afterwards in 1900s there's a soldier in the army or party member, and his descendants becomes bloodpins and get crazy rich.

There's no specific victory so I assume wealthiest counts.

Born to a family of peasant farmers in a somewhat backwater village called Tongrao, which had around 5,000 people in it. It appeared that Xuegang would be like any other child born to such parents- they lived to work the fields, and they would die working the fields. But this little one was different from the others, he had ambition. Not wanting to die a peasant, he joined the ramshackle militia defending his home village, and quickly showed his aptitude at the art of organizing men. He rose rapidly through the ranks by proving himself on the field against marauding groups of bandits, and by the age of 18, he was already in charge of the whole militia! Due to his defense of the village and its farms, the settlement's populace prospered and its population doubled. This allowed him to grow himself a sizable and highly disciplined army of 2,500 men. This would be put to the test as bandits had grown resentful of him and desired to plunder Tongrao. Finding strength in numbers, the bandits had made an army with a projected strength of 7,000 to take the town.

Xuegang wasn't going to bunker down however, and set out on the first night of the bandit's gathering. The 7,000 man army was something to be feared, but it wasn't fully assembled as Xuegang found out from scouting reports. Under the cover of night, the commander ambushed the 3,000 bandits that had gathered with only 2,000 men, and using the ensuing chaos of groggy enemies rapidly clamoring and reaching out for their weapons, Xuegang was able to rout the force with ease. Around 1,000 enemy men had died by his army's hands, and the rest were taken as prisoners of war, at the expense of only 100 of his men. To send a message to the prisoners, they were rounded up into groups of ten, and one from these groups would die at the hands of the other nine. The 200 men that died on that day were to be propped up to send a message as well to the rest of the enemy bandits when they found out. The 1,800 remaining prisoners would then be sent back to Tongrao in order to work the rest of their lives as slaves.

About 1,000 bandits had deserted once they found out about what happened, and 317 deserters were captured by the commander's forces to be used as slaves, leaving Xuegang to deal with 3,000 enemy soldiers. Marshaling another 200 men to replenish his losses from the Battle of Pizhou (as the bandit camp close to Pizhou), he left with his 2,600 man army to confront the fully assembled and trained enemy army at Bengbu. Knowing that he could not attack the bandit army head on, he decided to muddy the battlefield as much as possible by watering it as much as possible with water from the nearby Huaihe River, that, combined with a moderate rain, had turned the plain into a mud caked field that one would have to slog through with difficulty. Soon the bandits had encountered them ready to fight, and they crossed the mud much to Xuegang's delight. Using the enemy's slowed down movement, he was able to issue his archers to loose many arrows, killing around 500. By the time the now 2,500 strong enemy army had arrived at his position, he was able to sweep the exhausted bandit force with ease, killing another 1,000 in the process. Retreating forces would deal with severe exhaustion and 200 would die from disease. The commander's pursuing forces would harry them at every turn and kill about 600 men. The remaining 700 were taken as prisoners of war and turned into slaves to work at Tongrao.

By his 20s, Xuegang had become a force to be reckoned. A cautious and brilliant commander, he was able to wipe out all brigands near Tongrao, and via what he called "Extension of Protection" (which was really just taking over), he was able to control various neighboring towns. Soon he became a warlord and expanded his domains further and made a tributary out of the neighboring warlord in Lianyungang. Today he is an accomplished 27 year old commander controlling rich areas around the Huai River.

He's very strong and even though he's a Buddhist monk, he tends to drink a lot and eat meat and get into trouble. He does have a good sense of right and wrong, justice and injustice. He's just not good at following rules.

How widely scattered in time are the characters? My guy, Lu Zhishen, is from the Song Dynasty, 960 to 1279. Unless we don't much care about time accuracy.

So I've decided the spiritual swordsmen I was talking about kinda already exist historically-we just need to add more emphasis onto swordplay as well as the normal unarmed combat.

Solved, now we can have wandering swordsmen for cool adventure stuff, selling themselves to lords as fighters, generals, etc.
