This has been interesting to observe. I've been on and off NS for years, and this RP has been around the whole time. It's a shame to see it unravel in this way. Idk about others, but a reset would definitely be just the right environment to get me involved. As it stands, the state of the RP isn't exactly welcoming to someone who's new to this kind of thing, no matter how interesting it may be. You should obviously pay more attention to veteran players, but I just thought I'd throw my two cents in there.

I’ll admit my own contribution to this mess before addressing anything else.

I wasn’t the best RPer when I joined this RP, and I still have a lot of improvement to make.

Looking back on things, most of my characters have been -with the caveat of differences in age, gender, and ethnicity- self-inserts in terms of policy and politics.

I don’t know what kind of characters I would’ve submitted if the RP were as was suggested here today.

What I can say with some confidence is this: an RP can suffer from excessive realism just as much as it can suffer from a lack of realism. I hope all of us keep that in mind no matter where we end up.

As for me, I’ll take my time before deciding whether to stay or go.

This has been an interesting project and I will look back fondly at the years I spent participating in it. It may seem odd, but it helped me grow as a person and even though there is still a lot of room for growth I am thankful for this experience.

Seeing the discussion and the handling of our concerns, however, I will not be participating in this RP from now on. I hope resignations and the efforts to change this RP that preceded them will not lead to anymosity between the members of this community, whether remaining or departing.

Once again, thank you for everything. I hope that when we look back on our time here the negative experiences will not distract us from the positive ones.

I don't really have time to formulate a proper opinion rn. All I'll say is that if this RP dies, I still look forward to starting anew in a new one if it comes to that.

Pro you need to go further on those first 3 points, obviously no one feels as if it has been enough. No use being defensive over it, but everyone is telling you that more needs to be done. This RP can survive without a reboot but you need to meet us halfway here, aside from point 4 (which I still haven't heard an actual plan to remedy) you are saying their is no problem or its already addressed. Everyone else is saying the method you are using to address it is not sufficient. Please come on and help us out here

I have done all I can to meet halfway, but have been told, in no uncertain terms, that no halfway option exists. In Vaquas's words:

There can be no half-measures on these issues, as they are so deep and systemic that nothing short of a complete reset can address them.

That’s the position.

I have not heard any suggestions beyond a reset, leaving us at this point. I believe that the reforms already implemented, paired with the midterms, will do much to address the concerns raised. If not, I am wholly open to discussion on different or additional measures.

If the only other option that is considered acceptable, however, is to end and take apart the roleplay, then as I said, I am not willing to scuttle the ship without first attempting to adjust the sails. If the changes and the midterm are not sufficient to address concerns, then I believe there is a far stronger case to be made that the issues are unfixable and hopeless. Declaring that to be the case now, however, before they have even been tried, is giving up without any attempt at all.

I would and do hope that there is a willingness to give addressing the issues a chance, to make an assessment after efforts have been made, not before, but if the position is truly what it is stated to be, that it is reset or bust, then there is nothing but I can do but ask that this roleplay be given a chance, and accept it if there are players who believe it no longer deserves one.

I appreciate the times that we have had together. I regret seeing these decisions, I hope that you will reconsider, but even if not, I do not wish for there to be any ill will left between us. I don't even know if I want to be a part of this anymore

I've worked hard for this thing, I've worked hard because I thought I was doing good and making people happy and we were having fun, but now apparently I was just hated behind my back so much that it's blowing up everything and not a single person respected me enough to say a single word to me about it

That telegram you sent to me a long time ago Vaq, "You really are the bastion of data and analysis that keeps me so interested in this RP", that made me proud. I still have that thing in my archive even though I'm always out of TG space trying to keep and save important messages and questions and comments and everything because it made me feel good. I really thought I was doing something cool and that was good for people and that made the work feel worth it even when I skipped out on something real life to do something like come in and moderate a debate or used up free time writing articles or doing polls. But apparently none of that was real and somehow I was doing so bad that the whole thing has to be burned to the ground

I didn't even get a tg or even a heads up, I didn't even know that any of this was happening. Really, after all this time I didn't deserve even that?

I've given a lot for this and I thought it was worth something. I haven't regretted it because I've loved it, loved all all you guys even when there were stupid fights or whatever. It's just the biggest kick in the balls I could imagine to find out that it was all fake

You've been an integral part of this RP TNS, and that's the main reason why I've enjoyed this RP. I still look back frequently to the break-down of Stansky's debate analysis and the results because they're so well written and insightful. I hope in the end you decide to stay, otherwise there will be a very large boots that I think would be extremely difficult to fill.

Ummm... I thought Vaq would have negotiated before sending that TG to go public. I was very much under the impression that he wanted to negotiate rather than go in on an all or nothing.

I have been apart of this for so long that I don't think I could have even resigned if I wanted to though....

I think this issue is of a gravity that it deserved a more formal statement from me.

Ever since the beginning of the RP, I have attempted to try to spice up the RP with disruptive characters, that were often created with purposes solely to advance the course of this RP.

I admit some of the characters I created were far from perfect, and I apologize if any of my characters were annoying. I fully admit characters like Williams are fully annoying. However, I do not regret creating any of them. Many things I did I did for the RP, even if it meant playing characters that nobody wanted.

This brings us to the real reason why I signed the TG. I must admit I was very much under the impression that Vaquas would attempt to try to negotiate with OP and the Co-Op to perhaps reach a consensus reset or a resolution that would push the RP to a more exciting direction. Especially in the past few months I felt that the RP had slowed down dramatically and was not as fun as it once was. There was just little to do, and less to keep my interest to a point where it once was.

However, make no mistake I have no intention of resigning from this RP. I have been here too long and I love this RP group too much for this to happen.

To TNS, you were a fantastic Co-op. Your data and polls were something that really made the RP truly special. I meant no harm in signing the letter only to express my grievance with the slow speed of the game, and the lack of interesting events. If you felt hurt, I am sorry. This RP would not have lived so long without you.

To Prol, a normal RP hardly lasts past 20 pages. The fact that you kept this one going on for years is demonstrative of your skill as an OP. You kept the RP going through both the good times and the bad.

To everyone else, let us at least attempt to reform this RP, we have something truly special. Even the numerous lurkers would attest to that fact. A disbanding of this RP group would be such a waste.

I am not the same person who joined this RP. I certainly have less time to spend on this than I once did, I am still committed to this group however and I am not willing to let it die.

I have no intention of leaving this RP either. I been here for a few years and it did help improve my overall RP quality (even though I was trying to be Bret Easton Ellis, but let's not get into that). But the thing is, I want to see what else would occur in the RP. And I'm still willing to still be a part of this RP.

Gotten a lot of telegrams, Meel, Pro, Arab, San, Imp, Tumb, the stuff here in the OOC too. I think I'll just sort of answer back and say whatever I've got here

I don't think I'm going to be leaving. I'm going to take the weekend off I think, but I won't be skipping out. I might not go as completely all in as before, I guess we'll just see, maybe a little less of the technical stuff and more character, maybe go back to being more newsy, I don't really know, probably some changes but I guess the core thing is that I'll be sticking around one way or another. You guys have been great and this isn't worth giving it all up for. I still don't feel great about what went down/never getting told about anything until I found out here, but everything I'm hearing is that this all came down to a lot more miscommunication+misunderstanding than malice and honestly after all this time everyone here deserves the benefit of the doubt and more. So I'm not going to break up this band yet.
