An unelected Taylor isn't really a problem if there's cooperation
Alright, since Kyrlyakov is going to start funneling money to Taylor to help him in 2018 once he gets the leadership. Of course, he'll be doing it to Die Linke, La Insomaise (spelling?), Podemos and the people in Kerala.
Also, will there still be a Washington-Kremlin merger if Kyrlyakov is elected Russian President? I feel like a communist Russia is too unrealistic for Washington to handle. Then again, you are the people who had a fascist coup against the American government, so what do I know?

That was a past iteration. Fun spinoff
Kremlin'll have to be looked at at the time

Indiana
Ehh, still not good enough. I was looking for more Michigan, Ohio territory where we can disrupt the Democrats without forcing them to swing to the left, but rather turning blue states red. Again, not the right shade of red, but you know.
Also, it's going to be horrific if the ALP wins one seat or one state in any election ever because telling the difference between the ALP and the Republicans would be horrifying.

Indiana literally borders both Michigan and Ohio

Also, what are the odds on the ALP picking up at least one seat in the special elections/2018? Assume they're running candidates in every constituency available.
I seriously need a new public face for the ALP, one that can speak to people. Taylor can probably attempt to resurrect his national profile with the third parties meeting, but even if it does work, we still need someone to run for President, target the Midwest and the West Coast. Make us as strong, if not stronger, than the Progressives. I'm really waiting on the 1st of May, 2018 to get the ALP train moving.
I feel like it's too new to have any sort of impact, compounded by its lack of a public face. I see no reason why anyone would join or support the ALP when the Progs are around.; they overlap too much, and Progs are much stronger. The ALP will probably be relegated to like American Solidarity Party levels of relevance, or Constitution Party at best.

Untrained and inexperienced? You'll get experience on the job! Possibly controversial past? Don't worry, that's why Taylor's behind the scenes, cleaning up your loose ends for you.
I just need a blank slate character, and then Taylor will do his work. Taylor's more skilled than he looks, he just politically died before being able to use them.
Basically politically My Fair Lady a hobo
