Ur
Ur
Ur
A rhythmic pounding emanated from deep underneath Unera. Bounding, hounding, confounding waves of entropy. No mortal could grasp its essence; yet it was found in the minds of all. Even the Gods themselves could feel the presence of Ur, and while some knew of its existence, Ur's sentience was a mystery to most.
A deep, infinite black orb lay miles underneath Unera. This, was Ur. The First, the Primordial, the Originator of Decay and Entropy. Patron God of Mortality, Sultan of Sorrow, Despot of Despair. Ur's tendrils reached into every suicidal thought, every self-destructive impulse. Ur, after all, had not created, but was created itself. The sheer despair and fear caused by the inevitable march of death and the end of all things birthed Ur.
It is only natural a creature birthed from such a force would be under the sway of the Titan of Death. Inseparable concepts, Ur owed its existence to the screaming of millions of frightened beings staring into the abyss of non-existence.
Ur had remained almost entirely outside the affairs of the Gods, existing in a semi-sentient state most Gods were content to ignore. It was, in fact, a matter of academic debate if Ur was a Deva or simply an instrument of creation - not that it mattered, as if Ur was a Deva, they did little as one.
This debate, however, would soon end.
Ur's rhythmic pulsating was new. All the God's felt it, and were made immediately aware of it's presence.
Shifting, crawling, Ur moved beneath Unera. The ground itself stood in anticipation. A millennia long silence would end.
"Ur.....speaks".
The emanation erupted out into Unera, like the cry of an infant. A new Deva had awoken.
"Thaetol.....Ur.....speaks...."
