After a brief stint as Mayor of Green Bay for SPUSA, he defected to the Democratic Party after the election of controversial "patriotic socialist" Michael Winters. He then ran for the Senate of Wisconsin in 2384, clutching the position just by 6% in the primaries and 12% in the general. He has since been an active member of the Senate, and was recently appointed Majority Leader. He is also openly gay.

None here. Though as you pointed out he is unlikely to be the majority leader (under most circumstances) but let us assume that events to this point have lead to his appointment. Perhaps it will cause friction within the party.

Rita maternally descends from a 700 year old bloodline traced back to the notable Social Wars veteran 'Deadshot Django Rex' whose original wife and children survived the conflict in CEEP stasis. Being related to a first-generation mutant super soldier had its perks in allowing the family considerable prestige although contemporary generations have almost completely lost any mutant traits save for the uncommon occurrence of a eye mutation that still persists.

A fairly competent orator Rita is an impassioned (critics would say zealous) believer of state sovereignty and opposed to surrendering autonomy to a restored World Government. She has served in the Wisconsin Army National Guard with distinction as a sniper in skirmishes with the Barony. Later promoting her heritage combined with her military service she stood for governorship as an Autonomist candidate pledging to push back and annihilate the feudal encroachment of their territory. She desires to empower the National Guard into a formidable unit capable of enforcing the state's own interest and is currently in negotiations with Washington over a joint-operation to defeat the Barony, whose current domain she hopes to annex.

Regarding androids she sees them as potentially useful tools and is not above the possibility of even allying with the Created if a a mutually beneficial understanding can be reached.

It's accepted and has given us a new political situation to consider in this presidency; the fact that due to how long Wisconsin has held off the Barony alone it's people have become more self reliant and thus elected an Autonomist as Governor (makes complete sense and I for one find it rather epic. In character though it is a matter for concern so welcome to the RP )

Ah drat, I was thinking the same thing at work today and while working on this post. It's what I'm wondering right now. I'm going to look into Saint Paul again to see if their is a significant residence the president can inhabit- one with enough space to serve the functions of the white house....

It works, I'm sure with the right modifications it can be what it needs to be and I am sure time has past for such to be made. I propose it have a historical importance to the Restored USA; as a building some of it's early restorers used.

He is fairly right wing when it comes to the economy but he quietly supports Android rights.

As majority leader of the senate your role is to collaborate with other democrats in the senate to decide what bills to put forward and how to best oppose bills that are counter to the party's platform. When it comes to senate committee's you make collaboration with the Republicans easier by finding members of the party in the senate who are suitable to stand on a committee and willing to work with the opposition towards joint action of state while not compromising party standards gravely. You are not head of the democratic party but you are leader of the party's hold in the senate and thus network with your house counterparts as a bill has to pass both the house and the senate to take effect.

The Barony has limited production capabilities. While most of it's income comes form the trade of lumber through the Great Lakes it is also known for it's manufacturing of 'Rifled Muskets' (specifically flint or matchlock guns with rifled rather then smoothbore barrels). The Knights and nobility who command the armies of the Barony are the only individuals legally allowed to possess Pre-Social War weaponry. Thus any 'ancient weapon' found in the land of such nobles belongs to them by right. Non-weaponry such as cooking appliances or utilities from before the Social Wars may be held legally by the commoner. The Barony is interesting economically in that it does not issue it's own currency but rather recognizes the Domar and uses it. While the Barony is not recognizes by the Restorationists private citizens still do trade with it, primarily those outside of Wisconson; in the Michigan territory for example and Canada to the North. The city of Horn has the royal treasury which holds Domars both from recent years and dating back to 'ancient times' (the 23rd century). The Baron has a collection of pre-war cars of which he has expended funds towards renovating to operational status. Fund not put towards this private collection have been funnels to the 'University of Horn', which operates as a modern institution (though it's become something of a hotbed for anti-feudal thought in recent years). Thus while the bulk of the Baron's forces consist of militia levies armed with swords, spears, and rifles muskets a few individuals stand out as being above the norm. Much like Knights of old and Samurai they have trained in how to use their 'artifacts' effectively making them both higher in social rank and skill.

Earning a scholarship, he attended one of the remaining modern universities, the university of Minnesota, where he got degrees in History and Economics. After graduating he went back to his home country where he got a job in the newly established local government. Due to the local governments lack of personnel, most workers were not specialized and worked in local Magistrates with a few other people. Here they coordinated government activities. At his magistrate in Western Georgia. James would go on to serve in the Territorial Council, a legislative council with one member from each County. At the age of 40 James ran for Governor and won, and he has just taken office in his new position.
