It was the dawn of a new era when the world was forged in the flames of Chaos, and tempered by the hands of Order. The Primordials beings of great power were born from both Order and Chaos. It was Order who gave life and willpower to these beings. Yet Chaos wished to sow the seeds of discord and whispered into the ears of the Primordials giving birth to strife and conflict. Thus the Great Cycle was born one that would see reality shatter and reform itself endlessly across the pages of space and time.
The Primordials would fight an epic battle for who would come to rule the Universe. Mundus or the mundane plane was born from this very war of creation and destruction. Entire planets were born, nebula and galaxies created from the constant destruction. Many beings would emerge from this time of ruin, the Fates, who weaved the destinies of Gods and mortals alike, the Furies who exacted punishment on those who broke their oaths. In the end, the most powerful Primordial Aetempas Brightlord of the Heavens would reign victorious over all of creation. Aetempas would shire seven children with the Earth-Mother Terra giving birth to the all-powerful Titans.
At first, the Titans served the Primordials well, but the Fates foretold that Aetempas would be overthrown by his firstborn son Terratus. Aetempas would send the Serephims servants of the Lord of the Heavens to chain the Titans and banish them to the depths of Maelstrom. In the end, Terratus defeated the Serephims and rallied the Titans declaring war on the Primordials for their betrayal. The world was reforged in this second Divine War; the Primordials would be driven to extinction, Terratus would forever chain his father to the Sky separating him from Terra forever.
Now the Titans would be the undisputed rulers of existence for millions of years to come, yet the Fates continued to weave their destinies of all beings and foretold new beings that would come to rule the cosmos. The gods born from the various love affairs of the Titans, or born by the cosmic forces were at first beneath the Titans but soon grew in power. Terratus like his father feared being overthrown and tried to banish the gods to Maelstrom, but in the end, the gods rebelled, and soon the First Titanomachy was born. The gods would end up defeating the Titans in yet another epic war of the divines. In a twist of irony Terratus along with the other Titans would be banished to Maelstrom for all of the eternity tormented for their betrayal.
Now the Aetherian Gods are the undisputed rulers of the Cosmos, they ruled victorious from their base of power on Mount Atherius for the remainder of the Mythic Age. Everything was well until the Phoenix Break occurred. Called the Tear in the East, for that, is where it is believed to have occurred. It was a shattering of the cosmos that reshaped reality itself. Within the pages of the Book of Time, the tales of the gods where rewritten. The son became the father, the mother became the daughter, east became west, time moved both forward and backward, and the stories of reality where broken and reassembled. After the Phoenix Break was complete, much had changed yet much remained the same.
Now the Mythic Age as drawn to a close. The gods have ruled Mundus for tens of thousands of years, epic tales have been written in the book of time. Tales of heroics, love, great battles, and the creation of new things and ideas. But all of that is over, nigh is the time of the Dawn Age. The crowning achievement of all this is this creation of mortal races. They are independent beings with a flicker of fire called souls. They are weak by themselves but there is something unique about them. They have the power to shape the very gods themselves, to strengthen or weaken them through the power of faith.
Welcome roleplayers to Gods of Atherius: The Dawn Age!This is a game where you the player will take control of an all-powerful deity. You and your fellow gods have by this time watched over Mundus for countless eons since the end of the Mythic Age. With the advent of mortal races, it is now the time of the Dawn Age.
Mortals are special compared to deities. In contrast to gods, they are extremely weak and fragile. They also age and die departing this world for the next. Their unique power lays in their souls, and the ability to affect the gods through the power of faith. This is not exact but it is always better to have worshippers for they grant power and can increase the influence of a deity.
Now there'll be seven main gods, who will reign in a new pantheon similar to various mythologies in real life, ruled by a powerful supreme deity think Zeus, Ra or Odin. This is based on a first come first serve basis. Once all seven positions are taken, you'll still get to play as a minor deity, but you'll just be less powerful than general. Just because you're in the main pantheon doesn't mean your all-powerful, power in Mundus is fluid and waxes and wanes, especially when mortal species are created who'll influence the power of the gods. Has time passes on you'll find that your power may decrease this is based on the number of followers one has.
This is a dice game! Every god will perform a "divine act," and the Gamemaster will roll for the result. Now let's say you're a God of Earth, you'll obviously have more success when forging mountains, deserts, and canyons then anyone else but keeps in mind that this is a mythological roleplay. Thus there's nothing a god can't do, let your imagination run wild! Also, be aware that some crazy ass shit will happen don't be surprised if a four-headed dragon is born from your blood once slain in battle or that meteorite you sent kickstarted an event that awakens the Deep Ones.
From the tallest mountain on Terra, the gods of Atherius rule over all reality. It is a glorious palace of golden light and spires that reach into the heavens. Twelve thrones adorn the center of the room where the Aetherian Gods pass their judgment. The Aetherians were the ones who overthrew Titans, and it was from this very mountain that cosmic history was changed. The most important of all the gods is the King or Queen. This Supreme Deity was most instrumental in defeating the Titans and acts as head of the Aetherian Pantheon.

THE RULES
1. Do not pick OP, domains such as order, chaos, time, or fate. There are already "Fates" role played by me, so that's not even required
2. This is a god RP, but don't god-mod
3. I expect quality posting, posts at least a paragraph long
4. You can have abstract domains, but do be warned that will be more difficult getting bonuses to rolls,
5. Do choose domains such as Air, Earth, the Sun, Weather, etc things that are concrete. No domains such as Justice, Protection or anything vague for that matter.
6. Please read the Lore or at least skim it over.
7. Post every 48 hours at least.
8. If you believe you won't be very active please apply as a minor deity, Aetherians by default play important roles in the story and should be played by people who can post in the 48 hour time mark
9. Don't bring modern terminology/objects into the IC. This game is set in a fantasy world in a distant ancient past so I expect a certain sense of immersion when roleplaying in this world.
10. Don't bring OOC matters into the IC, if you have issues or want to bring anything up just post it in the OOC.
