There are how many characters now?

Are patron Lords allowed for backgrounds?

Gathering armies is the goal of the RP?

1) About 30
2) would need more explanation
3) no not really, rather our players will be rebuilding the Hammers of Eboris, a transnational organization to bring peace to the continent. So while there will be some stuff about building the Hammer's power and influence, the gameplay will mostly focus on questing

Why did I think we had too many rogue-type characters... we have nearly twice as many magic-users or warriors. Guess I'm reading this thread too late at night. If I make a second character I'll ditch the merfolk berzerker idea and go for an Eshonie.

Yeah, there's way more warriors than rogues. Not as many mages, I'd think, though there is a startling amount of people who are miraculously good at both magic and combat :P

Sayyida's now heading though the Tasharen camp towards the temple - if anyone there wants to bump into her before she clears the camp and gets any closer I don't mind!

No acknowledgement of the Hercynians, Danica is disappointed :(

In all seriousness, I’ll try to get a Traven post up at some point. He’ll be causing trouble in the Tashari camp, so I’m sure the people that are there will have words with him.

Unfortunately I'm going have to reject. The character doesn't fit the Hammer of Eboris and even beyond that I have some concerns about the limitations and some of the claims in the ability section. I appreciate the interest though.

Well, are there changes I could make that would still allow such an archetype? I mean, I can easily find ways for such a rather villainous character to begrudgingly join in such a matter, and I can very much expand on the limitations and fix up the "abilities" to your preference.

A lack of ambition is not really a limitation. Same with being a mortal. No one here is immortal.

So, as a quick little update, I'm still handling my currently-planned character apps, but I also just wanted to point out real quick that the images I'm gonna use are likely gonna be placeholders because I feel like sketching out what my characters look like ^_^

Even if you could figure out a way why he would join, I don't think he is a char that would be reasonably tolerated or recruited by the Hammer. So honestly no I don't think there's a way to rework the torturer/headsman archetype so that he fits.

Also, him being an executioner contradicts his personality of hating justice since the job of the executioner is to carry out the death penalty for those who commit serious crimes.

Recruited? It seemed implied that the Hammer of Eboris had faded into history but be reestablished by the characters? Also, I feel that I should emphasize that a lot behind Kraven isn't exactly something out in the open beyond the occasional rumor or drunken pub story, and that he is usually a very quiet and rather reclusive man, though now I feel I hadn't made that as clear as I previously thought. But if you still feel with absolute certainty that he won't work for this, in any manner, even if significantly tamed down, then I hope you wouldn't mind if I tried for a different approach character-wise?

I suppose by recruited I more just meant allowed to join by the others when it forms. Its not just that he is a twisted villain in personality but just his role as a torturer alone feels like an odd fit. And yes, you can app a different character.

He doesn't hate justice, he hates "lawful do-gooders". As in people he'd view as self-righteous pricks. He somewhat thrives on corruption that delivers people to his axe. He doesn't care who's under his axe.
