It was in the year 2003 that the term Hero and Meta first entered into the public conscious to become mainstream beyond the realm of comics.

The first Hero became known to the public after a group of criminals hijacked an armored semi and initiated a high-speed chase. It was as the truck approached a police roadblock that he walked into the street, an unassuming man hidden behind a faded green hoodie, with an open book in hand and headphones atop his head. Oblivious. Seemingly distracted. He turned towards the oncoming semi, long golden hair escaping the confines of his hood as he did so; he stuck out a single arm. Everyone watching expected the man to be blown away like a ragdoll, but that didn't happen. His large frame stood firm like a mountain, the cab of the semi crumpled around the man’s arm like hammer striking wet clay. He disengaged himself and walked away, everyone too flabbergasted at what they had witnessed to move or chase after him.

That man was Robert MacIntyre, later known as Mr. Invincible. Following an interview, and the revelation of his identity, others who had powers, who would be called Meta’s, emerged from hiding. Just as Heroes with powers emerged so too did those who committed crimes with their abilities. Over the next 14 years a status quo was kept, Heroes would stop the crimes that the Villains would commit.

Now that status quo has begun to end. Six months ago Mr. Invincible and a villain many would call his rival, Mr Omnifarous, battled one another. They never resurfaced after this encounter. No bodies were found, nor any sign of Robert MacIntyre or Cameron Williams as the two Metas were known in civilian life. Until now things have been eerily calm; no person or faction has dared make a move in fear of this being a trap...

But things are about to change.




Hello NS and welcome to EMERGENCE,a reboot of my first RP here on NationStates to actually get an OOC and IC. Emergence is a basic Sandbox RP set in San Francisco; your characters can do what they want within reason but they might draw heat on themselves for their actions. Your character can be a Hero, Villain or an Unaffiliated Meta with a variety of factions. I would like to see interesting well-balanced characters, and although I do not want to see Superman-esque characters you can have powerful characters as long as they have proportionate weaknesses. Balancing does not just refer to powers but your characters equipment as well, as such unless specified I will presume that any and all equipment are with that character at any time.


01. The word of OP is law. The word of Co-OP(s) is law unless stated otherwise.

02. No Godmoding, Metagaming, Flaming, et cetera.

03. Rating PG-13. There is some leeway but site rules must be maintained.

04. Three strikes and you're out. Additionally, inactive characters will be removed.

05. Immortal characters will be allowed within reason. Some exceptions may apply. Furthermore, backstory must be detailed.

06. Keep OOC conversation/topics separate from IC. Be respectful in OOC.

07. No one-liners. Due try for appropriate grammar but this will not be held against writers.

08. Three to five characters maximum unless stated otherwise.

09. Characters must be one of the listed races unless stated otherwise. (Unlikely.)

10. In general, no magic or supernatural powers unless sufficiently explained. Furthermore, all powers a character possesses must be related or the result of another broader ability. Example: super-strength and superhuman durability are okay but super-strength and shapeshifting is not. No Time Traveling, expys (knockoffs), or trans-dimensional characters/abilities. Banned or restricted powers include but are not limited to the following: Time Manipulation, Gravity Manipulation, Invincibility, immutability, Omnifarous Form, straight up reality warping, mind control, or other similar abilities. if unsure then ask.

11. In general, no killing PC's without approval from both parties; generic NPC's can be killed. If unsure then ask.

NAME: Nobuatsu Oda
ALIAS / DESIGNATION: Ronin
NATIONALITY: None
ETHNICITY: Japanese
RACE: Metahuman
AGE: He is around 431 years of age, give or take. He appears younger however.

APPEARANCE: Nobu. He stands at just over 5 feet, standing at 5 foot 2 inches. He has a single tattoo on his back, a massive rendition of the Oda clan Emblem which spans most of his back. His skin has many pale scars found on it, blade wounds, bullet wounds even a few scars where stitches or sutures had been used. Typically he wears a Kamashiro, an outfit worn during the Edo period by Samurai and Couriers, though Nobu makes his own.
PERSONALITY:First and Foremost, Nobuatsu is an honorable man, he lives by a set of rules many would not understand. He is tolerable and patient, but ruthless, if you wast all the chances he gives you he will cut you down if necessary.

AFFILIATION: Himself and his Honor.

POWERS / SKILLS:
  • Body Supremacy: He simply put, has perfect control over nearly every aspect of his body, ranging from reflexes to even how his body reacts to poisons. He can amplify his physical attributes by pushing past his inherent limit, but at a cost. This power, is part of what is responsible for his sculpted physique and metabolism. He can use this to push past his limits, being able to move much faster, hit harder, carry more and the like, for a time. This renders him immune or resistant to most if not all powers which would try to mess with his body such as blood manipulation, biological manipulation and others along that vein.

  • Supernatural Condition: In every physical aspect, he is vastly superior to normal humans, and even many Superhumans. This includes granting him immortality, and eternal youth, reverting his body back to its prime. He also remembers everything since the day he was cursed with this condition. Additionally he had gained the ability to sense danger and possible harm, to a slight degree. He has superior strength and reflexes, being able to easily react much faster than mundane humans and can lift more than the strongest weightlifter. He can consciously react to most outward stimuli within 50 miliseconds (though has at times reacted twice as fast at 25 Milliseconds) and has a general sustained top speed of 35 Miles per Hour, though has reached 40 MPH at times. He can reliably manage a ton of weight in the literal sense though when pushed he can move up to 5.

  • Healing Factor: He heals faster than normal humans from wounds of all kinds. Small cuts can heal near instantly, small caliber bullet wounds heal in a couple weeks to day(s), depending upon the damage, larger caliber rounds can heal within months, depending upon the area hit and the damage. He can heal from broken bones within a week to a year, depending upon the bone hit and how damaged. While he cannot fully regrow limbs or organs, because of his body supremacy, he can loosely control and direct his healing to temporarily increase its potency in that area. Self inflicted wounds heal instantly, but just those wounds.

  • Combat Training: Over the centuries Nobuatsu has honed his combat skills to an extreme. While alone they would just be impressive techniques when used with Nobuatsu's enhanced physical abilities they are more than most normal humans can deal with. Throughout his centuries he has picked up and integrated many fighting styles and ways of combat into his repertoire, these range from mundane martial arts to assassination technique even some acupressure and acupuncture styles. Additionally he has a wide variety of combat related knowledge and has incorporated that into how he fights as well.

WEAKNESSES:
  • Limits Reached: Though Nobu can push past any limits normal humans might have achieving feats nearly impossible for normal humans even he has limits. Once he has reached those limits his body can only sustain that level of power for a short time, minutes usually.
  • Exceptional flaws: Although Nobuatsu is quite exceptional he has his limits and weaknesses. Although most conventional poisons, venoms, and diseases do not find purchase on him if they are man-made or meta human in origin they do so easier.

  • Not quite Uncontrollable: Although he has perfect control of his body, his body itself can still be manipulated, by any powers which manipulate the body as a vessel rather than its inner workings.

BACKSTORY: Nobuatsu was born as part of a set of twins to a child of Nobunaga Oda in the year 1588. He and his brother were fraternal twins rather than identical, but they were still separated. They were raised the same until they turned 5 when it became apparent that his brother Nobuhiro favored their father more. Thus it was determined that Nobuhiro would lead while a much different, much crueler fate awaited Nobuatsu.

The Oda clan had suffered much after Nobunaga Oda fell, so they chose not to kill Nobuatsu. He was sent to Hattori Hanzo, a renowned warrior who was friends with Nobunaga. He was subjected to training many modern humans would consider torture, but he succeeded beyond anyones expectations. At the age of 16 he was sent out to properly hone his skills in battle and otherwise, he would do so for 5 years. At the age of 21 he was recruited to work for Nobuhiro

Eventually it came to light that Nobuatsu was Nobuhiro's brother. That alone was no real issue but there were those who sought to depose Nobuhiro and make Nobuatsu rule. Regardless of the fact that Nobuatsu cared not about ruling, just honing his craft, they still tried. Nobuhiro became worried that Nobuatsu would take his power, and in his paranoia and desperation he committed a grave mistake, he made Nobuatsu his enemy. He sent Nobuatsu away on a mission and arranged for assassins to ambush him. Nobuatsu defeated the assassins with ease, being careful not to injure them fatally, but his fight was far from over.

If those assassins had been the end of it then Nobuatsu could have perhaps forgiven his brothers trespass against him. While assassins had been sent to ambush Nobuatsu a similar group had been dispatched to Nobuatsu's home. When he arrived the assassins were still there, but he was too late, his wife and their firstborn were dead. He defeated those who turned their blades towards his family, he did not kill them, he was not that merciful. He worked his way through the soldiers sent to his home and discovered they were sent by Nobuhiro.

Nobuatsu was angry, to Nobuatsu him dying was an inevitability, he was a warrior after all, but to direct a blade towards his family, that was unforgiveable. He rode towards Nagoya Castle, the seat of power and home of the Oda clan. Thus began an epic battle you will find no evidence of in any surviving historical document. Even though he was just one man against a veritable army, one could not help but feel sorry for those loyal to Nobuhiro.

Nobuatsu had always been stronger and faster than one of his size normally would be, he did not know why he just accepted it. During his assault on Nagoya Castle he was different, to say he fought like a man possessed would be an understatement. His fury and focus on his goal allowed him to push himself and allowed him to use his superpower, though he still did not know he had one at that time. The battle was not entirely one-sided, despite his skill and ferocity he still took many injuries. He lasted long enough to reach Nobuhiro, he did not kill his brother, but left him with his shame and dishonor, a more lasting injury than anything physical.

His injuries were great, but he still pushed himself to reach where he and his wife had lived. He knew he was dying, he could feel his life leaving him, but was able to ignore it to some extent. He reached the grave he had made for Mina Hasegawa, his wife, and committed seppuku in front of her grave. Fate had other things in store for him however, when his blade pierced his flesh is powers fully awoke. The emotional trauma had allowed him to subconsciously harness his ability, the physical damage awakened it fully.

He awoke to find all his wounds healed and his body younger, stronger than it had been in his prime years ago. He could feel that he was different from how he once was, he could feel the potential within his body. Even when Nobuatsu had travelled in his youth to hone his skills he had never left Japan. Now however he knew he had to leave, he went where the tides of war and battle took him. He stayed in Africa for some time as a mercenary, honing his skills and determining the changes the sword had wrought upon him.

He spent more than two centuries away from Japan, travelling the world and expanding his horizons. He would return to his homeland in the year 1866, and make a home in the Echizen province in a village there. For nearly a dozen years he would stay in Japan, leading a peaceful existence far removing from his last couple centuries of fighting. In 1877 when Saigo Takamori led a samurai rebellion against the Meiji government, officially Nobuatsu left Japan after a certain incident. In truth he remained in Japan, not in a single place, rather he roamed from island to island helping their inhabitants.

a few years after WW2 began Nobuatsu was captured by the Japanese government of the time and handed over to the Nazi regime. Though knowledge of Meta's was not widespread the Nazis chased down even the most preposterous rumor.They kept him quite well contained after some trial and error, Nobu was left to their tender care for years until he facility he was in was attacked. He and others kept there escaped during the chaos, he had been made somewhat wary by the actions of his people and what he experienced under the Nazis.

Following WW2 Nobu went to wander the world again, even during the Cold War nothing changed about that, he did keep on the move however. He would not stay in any place for long, occasionally helping people when he could and then moving on. In recent years he has come to both appreciate and abhor certain changes of the world and certain phenomena and cultural curiosities that have risen in the in the last several decades. One thing he has taken a liking to is certain foods and motion pictures, one such among them is pizza, he also likes star wars. Recently he has been traveling through the United States, a place he has not been for some time.

Within the world of EMERGENCE there exists more than baseline humanity.

HUMAN
Average. Normal. These individuals possess no extraordinary powers and are reliant on their own wits and ingenuity to distinguish themselves in a world of Heroes and Villains. Some humans may in actuality be metahumans whose powers have yet to awaken. When / if they do they are reclassified accordingly.

METAHUMAN
Those possessing superhuman abilities are classified as metahumans or, more simply, Meta's. The United States government has since taken to categorizing such individuals as Rank 1 through Rank 12 in regards to raw power output or potential. Most fall below Rank 6.

SYNTHETIC
Although many assume the term synthetic to refer to androids (and similar constructs) it has since become a catch-all classification for all sentient/sapient life not naturally born. While this does include mobile humanoid platforms inhabited by self-aware Artificial Intelligence or human consciousness transferred into such bodies, it also includes the results of Genetic Engineering such as clones and other experimentations, legal or not.


The emergence of metahumans has led to grand advancements in science and technology in recent years, however, while extravagant in some ways, these new developments are not without limitations, nor is it widespread. Ironman-styled suits and Power Armor are experimental beyond a few exceptions with lightweight, ultra-strong composites being the most notable addition to traditional body armor. Military research has been the forefront of such advancements but some emerging technologies have since found themselves in the civilian market. Thankfully, power-resistant materials have been created, both for everyday attire or construction materials, or costumes if so inclined.


March 23rd, 2003
Date of Emergence: it was on this day that Robert MacIntyre stopped a high-speed pursuit with a simple punch before vanishing.

February 2005
The League of Heroes is officially established with Robert MacIntyre, and several associates, being the first members. Beginning of the Age of Heroes.

2007
Renovations begin to return Alcatraz as one of the most secure detainment facilities in the continental United States.

2010
Construction at Alcatraz, hereby referred to as The Rock, is finished. Its first prisoner, Mr. Omnifarous, rival of Mr. Invincible, escapes after three weeks of detainment. Despite this setback, this is recorded as the longest time imprisoned for the nefarious villain, and is considered a moderate success. More renovations and upgrades to security systems ensue.

2011
The United States government establishes the Metahuman Acquisition and Investigation Department, M.A.I.D. These uniformed individuals serve as a government sanctioned police force comprised of both humans and metahumans. Many early members are former military or law enforcement.

December 25th, 2018
Mr. Invincible battles his longtime rival, Mr. Omnifarous, one final time. Both vanish without a trace afterwards.

July 2019
Six months after the disappearance of the First Hero. The RP begins.


HEROES
LEAGUE of HEROES
Founded in February 2005 to serve as a means for prospective Heroes to meet and organize. Since its conception it has grown rapidly to become a nationwide organization. Although many choose to work alone there are many small teams of Heroes, the most famous being Aegis, a group formed by many of the first members within the League. Due to government regulations, metahumans associated exclusively with the League do not receive an official stipend or salary, and as a result many Heroes within the organization derive income from bounties. (The capture of wanted Villains.) Other incomes may be earned by interested parties contacting the League for consultations, endorsements, and other activities.

METAHUMAN ACQUISITION and INVESTIGATIVE DIVISION
M.A.I.D. was originally created as token support by the government for the few registered Heroes or Meta's in military or law enforcement careers, thus many of the original members hail from such backgrounds. Essentially the go-to organization for the majority of metahuman-related crimes and affairs. M.A.I.D. is government funded, unlike the League, therefor all members receive an appropriate stipend or hourly wage; bounties are generally paid to the department as a whole though individuals may potentially receive a percentage. Currently, after training, any individual (human or metahuman) can join, but military/police backgrounds are preferred.

METAHUMAN AFFAIRS AGENCY
The M.A.A. is the result of recent government mandates to provide support to metahumans who do not seek association with either the League or M.A.I.D., or otherwise stated, non-Heroes, however, to receive benefits or assistance metahumans must first register. In recent months there has been deliberation of allowing M.A.I.D. and similar agencies to utilize the M.A.A. database in criminal investigations but no official decision has been made as of yet.

VILLAINS
SOCIETY of VILLAINS
As criminals are unlikely to cooperate amongst themselves without proper intervention, the Society was created as an association to combat the growing organization of Heroes. Many conspiracies point to Mr. Omnifarous as being the founder to grant his lesser brethren a chance of survival but these rumors have never been confirmed nor denied. The Society operates much like the League without a public headquarters. True criminals and Villains will know where to find the dens of the Society.

SYNDICATE
As Heroes and Villains became active post-Emergence organized crime would falter. To combat this stagnation many factions would unify as the Syndicate. Although the constituent parts remain independent, there now exists a degree of cooperation, as well as the availability of metahumans to combat both Heroes and the competition. Smaller gangs exist underneath the umbrella of the Syndicate, primarily as a means of protection, and are known to squabble amongst themselves more often than not.

UNAFFILIATED
COLORED COUNCIL
A group of nine like-minded individuals, men and women, all with political or economic ties to society, known anonymously as the Colors. Neither good or evil, they instead serve their own agenda and have acquired many followers to fulfill this machinations. The most powerful of these agents are the Numbers, and the elite amongst them, the Primes, the exception to this rule being Number 1 to Number 10. Number 1 especially is purported to be their strongest and most loyal agent and serves as the emissary between the Colors and their followers.

The Colors are referred to simply as Mister or Miss and their respective color. Each possess a identifying sigil typically utilized as a distinctive watermark. Additionally, the Colored Council has access to extremely advance technology and funding that may well be unlimited. The Council includes: Mr Red, Mr Orange, Ms Yellow, Mr Green, Mr Blue, Ms Indigo, Mr Violet, Mr Black, and Ms White. Unlike the others, Mr Black and Ms White often cooperate and, together, hold more influence than their compatriots.

The Numbers are the ground agents of the Colored Council and serve as shock-troopers. The majority are heavily skilled, be it combat, infiltration, assassination, espionage, or some other specialty. The Primes, alternatively, could be considered the special forces of the Colored Council. These individuals come from all walks of life: military, law enforcement, corporate, civilian sector. Human and metahuman. Most importantly, few if any know of their loyalties.


ORDER of PARIS
A secret society with origins as ancient as civilization. Borderline fanatical and utterly devoted to their cause: hindering the emergence of metahumans. The Order itself does not act openly and few in the modern era know of its existence. Instead, the Order prefers to influence agents and organizations to achieve their goals, such as the Children of Purity. The enigmatic leader of the Order is simply known as Paris. An alias, or perhaps his true name, nothing is certain. Many believe Paris to be that of Troy, the Prince of Troy, or more likely a direct descendant, having created this society to render justice upon those who ravaged the ancient kingdom, the perpetrators today known as metahumans. Rumors. Given the devotion of his followers, Paris is presumed to be charismatic, but nothing is known about the man outside the Order.

CHILDREN of PURITY
A known and radicalized anti-metahuman group. Active within the last year, actions attributed to the Children have been relatively minor (rallies, protests, vandalism, et cetera) despite their vocal rhetoric. A small organization with unofficial support from an unknown benefactor.

FREELANCER
Mercenaries, or otherwise known as independent contractors, these individuals may be Heroes or Villains with only temporary allegiances and, in return, receive compensation, such as cash or materials. It's nothing personal, just business.

VIGILANTE
Heroes not affiliated with the League, M.A.I.D., or any other recognized organization, government or private. Vigilantes, despite their noble intentions, operate outside the law, and may well come into conflict with proper Heroes. Advocates consider vigilantes criminals who do more harm than good. Whether vigilantes degrade the reputation of Heroes as a whole is up to debate.

INDEPENDENT
Some metahumans have no desire to be associated with recognized factions, Hero or Villain, and so go about as they see fit.


ADVENT
A multinational corporation based in the United States, ADVENT Technological Industries were responsible for providing the majority of the materials required in the renovation of Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary in conjunction with Mark Logan Jefferson. Are known commercially for their power-resistant materials which first hit the market shortly after Emergence. Said materials have only increased in quality since.

ALCATRAZ FEDERAL PENITENTIARY a.k.a. THE ROCK
This iconic prison has been retrofitted with state-of-the-art technologies to serve as the most secure detainment facility for metahumans.

DEAD MAN's HAND
A seedy bar popularized by the many freelancers active in the San Francisco Bay Area. Cheap booze and plenty of work to be found.

EPOCH LLC
A private corporation focusing primarily on the development of electronics, robotics, and software. Founded in 2013, Epoch has experienced unprecedented growth over the past decade, both commercially and technologically, and currently develops a varied range of products for both the civilian market and government contract. A few examples include simple robots, neural-linked prosthetics, drones, and private OS.

LEAGUE of HEROES SAN FRANCISCO HEADQUARTERS
The primary headquarters for the League of Heroes in the western United States.

M.A.I.D. SAN FRANCISCO OFFICE
M.A.I.D. precincts can be found in any metropolitan area throughout the United States. This just so happens to be the San Francisco branch.

MASTER TECH
A technological firm owned and operated by Austin Oz Masters, a metahuman in the employ of the Colored Council. Is responsible for the majority of the technology the Council possesses and, to a lesser extent, is assisted in the creation of Number One.

SPHERE
The hottest nightclub in town. However, beyond the neon glitz and pounding baseline is a dark secret. Sphere is currently the primary hub for the Society.


The United States has implemented a simple system to measure the capabilities of metahumans. This system is concerned primarily with raw potential. Metahumans that have mastered a weak power will rank lower consistently than an untrained metahuman possessing a dangerous ability. Additionally, metahumans with similar powers may be ranked differently dependent on overall output.
(A pyrokinetic capable of lighting small fires will rank lower than a pyrokinetic capable of incinerating large areas.)


RANK 1 | RANK 2 | RANK 3 | RANK 4 | RANK 5 | RANK 6 | RANK 7 | RANK 8 | RANK 9 | RANK 10 | RANK 11 | RANK 12


Rank 1 to Rank 4 are quite commonplace and, in general, most metahumans fall within this scale. Powers at Rank 1 are very limited and such individuals are considered practically human in terms of overall capabilities. Rank 2 abilities are weak but more noticeable (magic tricks); Rank 3 abilities have potential to cause minor injuries; Rank 4 abilities have potential to kill. Few metahumans surpass Rank 6. The handful of individuals beyond Rank 10 are considered extremely dangerous with the ability to cause significant damage or loss of life. A few hundred Rank 10 metahumans are estimated to exist globally; several dozen Rank 11; only two Rank 12 (Mr. Invincible and Mr. Omnifarous).

Ranks will be assigned as needed but, in general, most metahumans score below Rank 6.
This is our current Scale, keep in mind simply because the Meta has a Rank 12 ability does not mean they can use said ability to do everything it could be used for.

1 - Inert Powers (Powers that really add nothing more than a comparatively mild alteration in the genome with positive benefits i.e can change skin color on the fly, greatly enhanced intelligence)

2 - Basic Powers (Powers that are less inert but still notably distinct i.e wings capable of lift, capacity to breath underwater, electronic manipulation.)

3 - Standard Powers (At this rank, metas are inherently capable of severely injuring other people either willingly or accidentally. Injuries caused by these powers usually only require a trip to a hospital. i.e Pyromancy, greatly enhanced strength, telekinesis. Alternatively, Powers at this rank are also capable of averting basic injuries.)

4 - Above Standard Powers (As above, though the capacity for injury is much higher. Injuries from these powers will very likely result in a trip to the ICU)

5 - Powers of Legal Concern (Powers at this rank are generally seen as hazardous to public health if used. Injuries from powers such as this usually result in an extended stay at the hospital in critical condition, or are capable of sending mass amounts of people to a medical center, i.e explosion generation, disease manipulation.)

6 - Powers of Greater Legal Concern (Powers at this rank will generally result in fatalities if used. i.e life force absorption , blood manipulation) 7 - Powers of Extreme Legal Concern (Powers at this rank will usually result in mass casualties if used, or result in extreme property damage. i.e radiation generation, vacuum generation, Speed Force)

8 - Powers of National Concern (Powers at this rank have a capacity for destruction and death on a level in which military action may be entertained. i.e Undead Creation, Dark Matter manipulation)

9 - Powers of Greater National Concern (Powers at this rank are generally unable to be contained except by their respective user. i.e Nuclear Detonation Creation)

AGE: He is around 431 years of age, give or take. He appears younger however.

APPEARANCE: Nobu. He stands at just over 5 feet, standing at 5 foot 2 inches. He has a single tattoo on his back, a massive rendition of the Oda clan Emblem which spans most of his back. His skin has many pale scars found on it, blade wounds, bullet wounds even a few scars where stitches or sutures had been used. Typically he wears a Kamashiro, an outfit worn during the Edo period by Samurai and Couriers, though Nobu makes his own.
PERSONALITY:First and Foremost, Nobuatsu is an honorable man, he lives by a set of rules many would not understand. He is tolerable and patient, but ruthless, if you wast all the chances he gives you he will cut you down if necessary.

AFFILIATION: Himself and his Honor.

POWERS / SKILLS:
  • Body Supremacy: He simply put, has perfect control over nearly every aspect of his body, ranging from reflexes to even how his body reacts to poisons. He can amplify his physical attributes by pushing past his inherent limit, but at a cost. This power, is part of what is responsible for his sculpted physique and metabolism. He can use this to push past his limits, being able to move much faster, hit harder, carry more and the like, for a time. This renders him immune or resistant to most if not all powers which would try to mess with his body such as blood manipulation, biological manipulation and others along that vein.

  • Supernatural Condition: In every physical aspect, he is vastly superior to normal humans, and even many Superhumans. This includes granting him immortality, and eternal youth, reverting his body back to its prime. He also remembers everything since the day he was cursed with this condition. Additionally he had gained the ability to sense danger and possible harm, to a slight degree. He has superior strength and reflexes, being able to easily react much faster than mundane humans and can lift more than the strongest weightlifter. He can consciously react to most outward stimuli within 50 miliseconds (though has at times reacted twice as fast at 25 Milliseconds) and has a general sustained top speed of 35 Miles per Hour, though has reached 50 MPH at times, his absolute max has not been determined. He can reliably manage a ton of weight in the literal sense though when pushed he can move up to 5.

  • Healing Factor: He heals faster than normal humans from wounds of all kinds. Small cuts can heal near instantly, small caliber bullet wounds heal in a couple weeks to day(s), depending upon the damage, larger caliber rounds can heal within months, depending upon the area hit and the damage. He can heal from broken bones within a week to a year, depending upon the bone hit and how damaged. While he cannot fully regrow limbs or organs, because of his body supremacy, he can loosely control and direct his healing to temporarily increase its potency in that area. Self inflicted wounds heal instantly, but just those wounds.

  • Combat Training: Over the centuries Nobuatsu has honed his combat skills to an extreme. While alone they would just be impressive techniques when used with Nobuatsu's enhanced physical abilities they are more than most normal humans can deal with. Throughout his centuries he has picked up and integrated many fighting styles and ways of combat into his repertoire, these range from mundane martial arts to assassination technique even some acupressure and acupuncture styles. Additionally he has a wide variety of combat related knowledge and has incorporated that into how he fights as well.

  • Limits Reached: Though Nobu can push past any limits normal humans might have achieving feats nearly impossible for normal humans even he has limits. Once he has reached those limits his body can only sustain that level of power for a short time, minutes usually.
  • Exceptional flaws: Although Nobuatsu is quite exceptional he has his limits and weaknesses. Although most conventional poisons, venoms, and diseases do not find purchase on him if they are man-made or meta human in origin they do so easier.

  • Not quite Uncontrollable: Although he has perfect control of his body, his body itself can still be manipulated, by any powers which manipulate the body as a vessel rather than its inner workings.

BACKSTORY: Nobuatsu was born as part of a set of twins to a child of Nobunaga Oda in the year 1588. He and his brother were fraternal twins rather than identical, but they were still separated. They were raised the same until they turned 5 when it became apparent that his brother Nobuhiro favored their father more. Thus it was determined that Nobuhiro would lead while a much different, much crueler fate awaited Nobuatsu.

The Oda clan had suffered much after Nobunaga Oda fell, so they chose not to kill Nobuatsu. He was sent to Hattori Hanzo, a renowned warrior who was friends with Nobunaga. He was subjected to training many modern humans would consider torture, but he succeeded beyond anyones expectations. At the age of 16 he was sent out to properly hone his skills in battle and otherwise, he would do so for 5 years. At the age of 21 he was recruited to work for Nobuhiro

Eventually it came to light that Nobuatsu was Nobuhiro's brother. That alone was no real issue but there were those who sought to depose Nobuhiro and make Nobuatsu rule. Regardless of the fact that Nobuatsu cared not about ruling, just honing his craft, they still tried. Nobuhiro became worried that Nobuatsu would take his power, and in his paranoia and desperation he committed a grave mistake, he made Nobuatsu his enemy. He sent Nobuatsu away on a mission and arranged for assassins to ambush him. Nobuatsu defeated the assassins with ease, being careful not to injure them fatally, but his fight was far from over.

If those assassins had been the end of it then Nobuatsu could have perhaps forgiven his brothers trespass against him. While assassins had been sent to ambush Nobuatsu a similar group had been dispatched to Nobuatsu's home. When he arrived the assassins were still there, but he was too late, his wife and their firstborn were dead. He defeated those who turned their blades towards his family, he did not kill them, he was not that merciful. He worked his way through the soldiers sent to his home and discovered they were sent by Nobuhiro.

Nobuatsu was angry, to Nobuatsu him dying was an inevitability, he was a warrior after all, but to direct a blade towards his family, that was unforgiveable. He rode towards Nagoya Castle, the seat of power and home of the Oda clan. Thus began an epic battle you will find no evidence of in any surviving historical document. Even though he was just one man against a veritable army, one could not help but feel sorry for those loyal to Nobuhiro.

Nobuatsu had always been stronger and faster than one of his size normally would be, he did not know why he just accepted it. During his assault on Nagoya Castle he was different, to say he fought like a man possessed would be an understatement. His fury and focus on his goal allowed him to push himself and allowed him to use his superpower, though he still did not know he had one at that time. The battle was not entirely one-sided, despite his skill and ferocity he still took many injuries. He lasted long enough to reach Nobuhiro, he did not kill his brother, but left him with his shame and dishonor, a more lasting injury than anything physical.

His injuries were great, but he still pushed himself to reach where he and his wife had lived. He knew he was dying, he could feel his life leaving him, but was able to ignore it to some extent. He reached the grave he had made for Mina Hasegawa, his wife, and committed seppuku in front of her grave. Fate had other things in store for him however, when his blade pierced his flesh is powers fully awoke. The emotional trauma had allowed him to subconsciously harness his ability, the physical damage awakened it fully.

He awoke to find all his wounds healed and his body younger, stronger than it had been in his prime years ago. He could feel that he was different from how he once was, he could feel the potential within his body. Even when Nobuatsu had travelled in his youth to hone his skills he had never left Japan. Now however he knew he had to leave, he went where the tides of war and battle took him. He stayed in Africa for some time as a mercenary, honing his skills and determining the changes the sword had wrought upon him.

He spent more than two centuries away from Japan, travelling the world and expanding his horizons. He would return to his homeland in the year 1866, and make a home in the Echizen province in a village there. For nearly a dozen years he would stay in Japan, leading a peaceful existence far removing from his last couple centuries of fighting. In 1877 when Saigo Takamori led a samurai rebellion against the Meiji government, officially Nobuatsu left Japan after a certain incident. In truth he remained in Japan, not in a single place, rather he roamed from island to island helping their inhabitants.

a few years after WW2 began Nobuatsu was captured by the Japanese government of the time and handed over to the Nazi regime. Though knowledge of Meta's was not widespread the Nazis chased down even the most preposterous rumor.They kept him quite well contained after some trial and error, Nobu was left to their tender care for years until he facility he was in was attacked. He and others kept there escaped during the chaos, he had been made somewhat wary by the actions of his people and what he experienced under the Nazis.

Following WW2 Nobu went to wander the world again, even during the Cold War nothing changed about that, he did keep on the move however. He would not stay in any place for long, occasionally helping people when he could and then moving on. In recent years he has come to both appreciate and abhor certain changes of the world and certain phenomena and cultural curiosities that have risen in the in the last several decades. One thing he has taken a liking to is certain foods and motion pictures, one such among them is pizza, he also likes star wars. Recently he has been traveling through the United States, a place he has not been for some time.

    • Superpower manipulation, Active comes in three parts.

    Nullification: can nullify powers of a person by touch for ten minutes, and in a 2and a half feet radius around him, power based attacks dissipate.

    Acquisition: when he touches someone he can take the power that they have, it is a conscious decision. when he uses a stolen power the person he took it from originally will once again have their powers nullified, for 5 or so hours.

    Storage and use: can store up to five superpowers at a time, can only use one at a time in a 24 hr period, unless it would be an extension of a physical trait or if he combines two powers to create a viable new one. Power usage only lasts for about 5 hours, or longer depending upon the power.

    Superpower evolution: Passive, whenever he acquires a suitable power his body evolves, gaining some physical trait corresponding to that power. However he will not gain a power unless it corresponds to some physical feature. (basically for example,He can gain elemental manipulation, to a point but can only manifest it on his body not away from it.) He does not choose when this happens. the larger the change, the more uh unpleasant and the longer the change is. after he evolves he cant use his nullification/manipulation powers for 3 days, but still keeps the evolved traits.

    Current evolved traits: Enhanced human physiology, and reflexes.

PERSONALITY: Elek is a man that has an extraordinarily developed sense of self-preservation, focusing mainly on his survival. He is generally distrustful of people around him. He usually shows little to no remorse over his actions

Molten Metal Manipulation comes in three forms

1st form
Metal Absorption
Through his hand heating to a point of melting of the metal Elek is currently touching his skin absorbs the molten metal storing it in his arm. The Metal is not able to be stored for more than Elek's arms as any more than that will affect his organs and will kill him

2nd form
Weapon Formation
Elek is able to form any kind of blade ( sword, spear, knife, etc. ) with the metal he has stored in his arms, with the right amount, the blade itself doesn't have any properties beside the metal the blade is made from

3rd form
Molten Metal Spraying
A form of Pseudo Shotgun, Elek is able to shot out droplets of molten metal he currently absorbed. The droplets spread in a fashion similar to the one of the shotgun and have a range similar to this weapon

Skill: scavenging, stealing, self-thought use of swords, knives, and others
EQUIPMENT: his clothes
WEAKNESSES: his abilities can kill him if he doesn't keep check of the level of metal in his body, the more metal is in him the slower he can move

BACKSTORY:

Born to an impoverished family, his father a drunkard, his mother a minimum wage worker barely home. When the first signs of metahuman activity took place his mother took a stance of "they are freaks", his father was too drunk to even bother. After Elek reached the age of 13 and started to show his powers his mother didn't change her stance on metahumans, instead, she abandoned Elek somewhere, she was later arrested, but, the police couldn't find Elek. Elek meanwhile started to live on the streets, but, soon he discovered that it was a dangerous life, some cruel people decided to have " fun". They knocked Elek out and when he woke up he was being cut multiple times on arms, this is when the second and third form of his power activated and he drove them off, but the incident greatly diminished his trust in people.

From that moment he was much more confident in his ability and chances of survival. He thought right as he was able to be quite good at scavenging and stealing ( he never regained trust in people ). For some time he was just living like that, with nothing particularly happening. Just a constant struggle to get enough food for yet another day. The life he was living earned him quite a lot of troubles and from time to time he needs to deal with police or just angry thieves, angry at him because he stole something they were meant to steal. And that's just how it goes for Elek, from day to day. Right now, he's sure he'll live to somewhere around 30 continuing what he is doing.

Powers - Lora

  • Photokinesis - Lora is capable of manipulating light, be it from natural or artificial sources. She is also capable of generating her own light for use with her powers. She can manipulate light into multiple forms that could be used in an attack or for utility be it as a beam, pulse or other forms. Another way of using her light manipluating in combat or for utility by the creation of photokinetic constructs, along with infusing her own physical attacks.
  • Photokinetic Illusion - Lora is capable of bending light sourced from any source in order to create illusions out of light. These illusions are comparable to holographic projections, so while they look extremely realistic, they have no physical presence. As such one can not physically interact with them, and anything that attempts to hit them will simply go through them. She can also bend light around her, to create the illusion of invisibility, only detectable by the shimmer from the bending light.
  • Healing Light - The light that Lora creates, can be used to heal the wounds of others. The more devestating the injury, the longer it takes to heal. Lora can not heal missing limbs. Most severe injuries can not be fully healed by her light, but she can use the light to stablize those experiencing severe injuries.

Powers - Gwen

  • Umbrakensis - Gwen is capable of manipulating darkness/shadows, be it from natural or artificial sources. She is also capable of generating her own darkness/shadows for use with her powers. Gwen is able to manipulate darkness/shadows into multiple forms that could be used in an attack. Be it through range, or by creating constructs (her favourite way) or by even infusing her own physical attacks.
  • Absolute Darkness - Gwen is capable of creating an area of absolute darkness with 20 foot radius around her. In this absolute darkness, light is unable to penetrate, making it nearly impossible for most people to see. Gwen is capable of seeing in the dark as an extension of this ability.
  • Shadow Veil - Gwen is capable of turning her body into shadows for five minutes every eight hours. This allows her to escape for intense combat while being immune to physical attacks, while also not being able to harm others.

Powers - Shared

  • Two Souls, Divided Mind - Lora and Gwen are two individual souls that inhabit the same body, and because of this, they share the same mind which causes them to appear as two separate personalities.


Skills - Lora

  • Art of Cooking - Lora possess great skill in the art of cooking. Given proper ingredients, she could cook any number of mean dishes.
  • Soothing Voice - Lora isn't just good at making food, she is also good at making people feel comfortable. She is a beautiful singer, and a rather skilled speaker, though this only becomes obvious to those who break through her shy outside.

Skills - Gwen

  • Fighter Sense - Gwen is a capable fighter, do to her skill in reading others during fights. She finds relative ease in reading her opponents, thus allowing her to strike at openings and avoid attacks.
  • Sadists Knowledge - Gwen has a certain knowledge base. A knowledge base that surrounds how to best bring physical harm to others without killing them.

Skills - Shared

  • Self-Defence Training - Both Lora and Gwen are capable of defending themselves (Gwen more so than Lora) due to self defense training they got from One.
  • Physically Fit - Lora and Gwen is physically fit. In fact, she is more fit than what would be seen as average for her gender and age.

Weaknesses - Lora

  • Blessed By Light - Lora is "blessed" by light, and as such her powers are generally more potent when she is in the light. While she is capable of using her powers in the dark, they are weaker and less potent in such conditions.
  • FST Switch - Fear. Stress. Trauma. These are the three factors that can trigger Lora's loss of control, thus allowing for Gwen to take over. While she has shown some ability to fight and resist Gwen from taking control, the more promienent the fear, stress and/or trauma the more difficult it is for her.
  • Nyctophobia - Nyctophobia. The fear of the dark. Lora can not stand darkness, and forcing her to be alone in a location where the only light is created by her, can cause her to lose control to Gwen with little resistance.

Weaknesses - Gwen

  • Blessed By Shadow - Gwen is "blessed" by darkness/shadow, and as such her powers are generally more potent when she is in the darkness/shadows. While she is capable of using her powers in the light, they are weaker and less potent in such conditions.
  • Photophobia - Gwen suffers from photophobia, which despite its name is not a phobia but a medical condition. Her eyes are extremely sensitive to light, to the point where without special photophobia glasses she struggles with seeing anything, and can easily be temporarily blinded.

Weaknesses - Shared

  • Meds to Survive - Lora and Gwen are both on very specific medication to keep her powers from killing them. It is in pill form and must be taken three times a day. If they are refused their pills, then their powers will not weaken, but grow uncontrollable until it kills them.


BACKSTORY: The story of Lora and Gwen is not a simple story, nor is it a happy one. It begins in the Canadian province of Alberta, in the hamlet of Waterton with twin baby girls, one named Lora and the other named Gwen. You see, Lora and Gwen were not always just two souls in one body. Anyways, due to multiple factors neither of the twins would know their mother, as she died not long after they were born. As such, for their early childhood, they were raised by their father, who after the death of their mother moved them to Cardston.

At the age of five, there was a car acciedent, which lead their father losing his sight along with the death of one of the twins. The twin that survived also suffered from head trauma leading to some memory loss. All these factors came together, leading to their father being completely devastated. He knew he was responsible for the death of one of his daughters, and could not determine which one it was that he lost as he could not see his surviving daughter, and his surviving daughter didn't know her name. It was at that moment that he had to make a decision, so he started referring to her as Lora.

A few years later, when "Lora" was eight, she started to act strangely. Strange dreams filled her sleep, and a strange voice filled her mind during the day. These strange events eventually lead to what appeared to be a new personality forming. It took the name Gwen, after the sister that Lora had lost. It was at this point that her powers started to develop. And it was during this period that things changed for Lora/Gwen.

An unknown party discovered Lora/Gwen, after Gwen killed their father, and took them in. They preformed experiments on them. These experiments leading to Lora/Gwen developing their powers at an exponential rate with increased potency. Unfortunately, a side effect of the speed of development and potency of their powers was that it would lead to burning the life of both Lora and Gwen up. While the unknown party experimented on them, they didn't want to kill Lora/Gwen. So, they developed a way to prevent the powers of Lora/Gwen from killing them.

For the next four years, until Lora/Gwen was 12, things would remain fairly the same. Experimentation would continue, and she would continue to be treated as nothing but a tool for the advancement of the knowledge of the unknown party. This would change however, through the actions of yet another person. A person known as One. One did not come for Lora/Gwen, but to eliminate the unknown party. It just so happened that Lora/Gwen happened to leave that place with One, and started a new life with the Colored Council.

Lyra stands at about 5'8 and weighs in at about 140 lbs. She doesn't have a lot of scars, and her body is tremendously fit, not in a body builder way but in the sprinter way.

PERSONALITY: Lyra was once upon a time, a quiet and shy girl. That hasn't been the case for a long time. Lyra is confident, pushy, and some would even call her arrogant. Given that her powers essentially render any normal work trivial, she often suffers from a lack of motivation, only throwing herself into things that interest her, namely, being a superhero. In this regard she has become a bit of an adrenaline junkie in fact, living for the high she gets from saving things.

POWERS / SKILLS:
    Speedster Physiology- Lyra's body has adapted to her powers, allowing it to take the stress of super speed. This includes having an Accelerated Metabolism, a sped up thought process, increased stamina, durability, and the ability to ignore friction and inertia.


  • Super Speed- Lyra has the ability of Super Speed. This enables her to move at Speeds up to half mach. This can be on an entire body scale, such as when she runs or dodges attacks, or it can apply to the mere vibration of a body part. The extreme end of this ability allows her to dodge bullets at a distance, but it's close enough that Lyra doesn't try to test this very often.
EQUIPMENT:
    • Super Suit- Lyra's suit represents the cutting edge of supersuit technology. Flexible and even more importantly fire-retardant, it can take the force of Lyra's powers while being able to protect her from more mundane threats.

WEAKNESSES:
    •Calories- To put it simply, having an accelerated metabolism isn't always good. Lyra needs to consume insane amounts of food to continue using her powers. While she can normally handle this by herself, if she gets into a long engaged fight she may need to break off from it to find food, otherwise she could pass out from the lack of energy.

  • Silver- Silver is now extremely toxic to Lyra, making seemingly mundane objects, such as mirrors, cutlery, and a lot of medical instruments.

  • Lows- Due to Lyra's physiology, her body has been on a near constant adrenaline rush for years since her powers manifested. While this is great for her energy and mood most of the time, it means that if for whatever reason that flow is interrupted, she enters a near catatonic depression state from the withdrawal. This can be because of long term inactivity or extremely extended use of her powers, assuming she doesn't run out of fuel first.

BACKSTORY: Lyra DiGela was born in Palo Alto in March 1998. Growing up she was always the quiet and shy child. Like most kids her age she grew up watching the early exploits of Mr. Invincible on TV, cheering him on as he fought the dastardly Mr. Omnifarous. Studious, Lyra was considered to be a gifted child, and so her father, a sucessful software developer who made it big on the internet bubble who was one of the pioneers in Metatech. Realizing her potential, he sent Lyra to PA Heights, a prestigious K-12 private school known for producing men and women of character. In the late 2000s-early 2010s however it would become known for an abnormally high meta population. Lyra's powers manifested when she was 14. While playing a game of softball, a hobby of hers, she suddenly took off at high speed while trying to catch a flyball. After a massive manhunt for the missing girl, she was found wearing stolen clothes along a highway near Sacramento.

Superpowers change the best of people. Lyra was no exception. Where the once unattractive and studious Lyra had stood, a new young woman full of confidence and power now ran. Lyra's new metabolism whipped her into shape within days, and homework that once took her hours to complete was now finished in mere minutes. Soon other students began to develop their own powers. Precognition, Flight, Strength, Elemental Manipulation, etc. PA Heights was starting to becoming a veritable school for gifted youngsters. Forming their own popular/bully clique, Lyra found herself, for the first time in her life, queen of the school. And she loved it. But what she wanted more than anything was to become a hero, like the ones she had seen streaming across the news for years now. As it turned out, she didn't have to go far.

PA Heights was built into a series of old warehouses left over from the original Silicon Valley boom. It so happened that the neighboring warehouse complex, supposedly still abandoned, had become a lair for a society villain known as Dr. MeV. MeV had been experimenting in nuclear fusion, with plans to weaponize the technology and then sell it to the highest bidder around the world. The High Schoolers managed to stop him, but not before he killed Max, the flier of the group and Lyra's best friend. In a fit of rage, she snapped the neck of Dr. MeV. Realizing the nature of what she had done, Lyra willingly surrendered herself to M.A.I.D. forces who moved in on the warehouse when the fight started to cause explosions.

Lyra was sentenced to 10 years in a lower security meta-prison, located in Santa Cruz. Known as the Vault, it was designed to keep Meta's who were willingly being imprisoned. That was all well and good, until after four years of her sentence, Lyra couldn't take the monotony anymore. Every second she was imprisoned in there seemed to drag on for days thanks to her powers, and seeing how several of her friends had become registered with the League or MAID, Lyra had had enough of prison. The Vault gave it's prisoners a number of luxuries, including the turning a blind eye during shower periods. Using this oppourtunity, Lyra sped out of the prison, stole an experimental suit from the nearby MAID base, and got to work heroing, hoping to do enough good to keep the authorities off her back and one day be able to walk in the light again. This is complicated by the fact that she steals several hundred dollars worth of food every few days, but hey, she's trying.

APPEARANCE: Standing at a remarkable 6'5, Anthony is what many would consider tall, his frame is topped with an angular face, well hidden behind a full beard. Wispy, combed back brown hair and intelligent hazel eyes, adorn this head, summing up an above average man with a remarkably average appearance. Beneath clothing is a man who regularly makes an attempt to keep himself healthy, not extraordinarily fit, but enough not to have much notable fat.

Anthony's 'Costume' as of current is whatever he is wearing at the time.

PERSONALITY: Somewhat apathetic, arrogant, and sarcastic, Anthony is known as grating at best and outright malicious at worst. A self professed nihilist, Anthony is quite aware of the existential dread produced from what many see as a pointless endeavour: life. As such he tries his best to make a positive impact on the world at large to hopefully relieve some of the collective depression and despair from humanity. As such, those very very select few that actually get to peer into Anthony's personal life simply see a man with a hardened heart.

AFFILIATION: Epoch LLC

POWERS / SKILLS:
    Hypercorticosis: While Anthony is the sole individual who is aware of his condition, he is still capable of using it without public concern. Hypercorticosis is the condition when one's brain has a exceeding amount of cortical sulci and gyri, and as such a much higher surface area. This differs from Polymicrogyria in the fact that, while excessive in number, all sulci are of fully developed depth, and the gyri are not fused. This results in a much higher capacity for information retention, processing power, and capacity for knowledge. While unknown to him, his peers, and his teachers in his youth, Anthony can now simply pass it off as being mentally gifted.
    Engineer: Of one Bachelor's Degree (Psychology), two Masters degrees (Biomedical Engineering, Business Administration) and two Doctorates (Computer and Electrical Engineering) under his belt, three of those degrees are in engineering fields. With plenty of practical and theoretical work in all three fields, as well as a career and company formed from the basis of such knowledge, it is safe to say that when it comes to Electrical, Biomedical, or Computer engineering, Anthony is the man to go to, at the very least, to get a second opinion.
WEAKNESSES:
    I'm a doctor, not a conversationalist: Anthony is socially inept, to put it lightly. In the 25 years he's been alive he has less than five people who he could say he wholeheartedly sees as an equal and a friend. Two of them were his parents one of them is his secretary, Olympia, and the last two have since parted ways after university. This isn't for lack of trying, just that Anthony's personality and social skills are lacking enough to drive people away more than give them reason to see him as a friend. His poorly contained paranoia over intellectual theft, possible assassins, and in general a feeling that people are out for him makes for a very poor friend.
    The pen is mighti- OH FUCK: To say that Anthony can hold his own in a fight is very massive overstatement. While he can maybe duck below a few blows, his lack of martial arts or firearms knowledge puts him in a position of 'being unable to fight out of a paper bag'. If he's caught in a situation without aid from someone or something else, he'll very likely go down easy.

BACKSTORY:Born to a Gulf War vet and an Journalist in Boston, Anthony Cross was born nearly two tears to the day the Soviet Union fell. At an early age, Anthony excelled in academics. At the age of 6 he entered kindergarten, by 9 he'd qualified for highschool. At 11 he passed the entry exam for MIT's engineering department.

Though his early life was not full of successes, his Father, seemingly affected by the Gulf War Syndrome that plagued him, attempted to kill Anthony one day out of the blue, resulting in the deaths of three members of campus security and two police officers. His father was arrested, and child protective services got involved, resulting in a rather fruitless and answerless investigation, resulting in his father being interred into a Psychiatric hospital in upstate New York. Despite being a little over 13 at the time, Anthony fully understood that he would likely never see his father again.

He would graduate from MIT with a Dual PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering at the age of 16. It was at this point that he and his mother moved from Boston to the exact opposite coast in San Francisco, where Anthony would further his education in UC Berkeley. By the time he became a legally recognized adult, he held 5 separate degrees.

At the age of 20, he founded Epoch LLC. a Limited Liability Company focused on robotics and advanced systems with a non-marginal level of funding from government contracts. In 2014, Epoch LLC released a line of modular prosthesis, capable of replacing something as small as a toe all the way up to a full limb. In 2016 they released a humanoid robot capable of acting as a personal assistant, housekeeper, or companion, with a very low capacity for intelligent choices, and poor sales, their support continues, but have since been discontinued as a product. In 2017, Epoch started selling software and hardware to the US Air Force for use in drones. In the past 6 years, Epoch has grown from a start up to that of a tech giant, though as with all companies, the man at the top has quite a bit of free time, and the rumor mills are abound.

APPEARANCE: Standing at 200 centimeters, and weighing close to 215 kg. ELISA has the external appearance of what many would see as a cyborg, but is in fact fully robotic. A heart shaped head is topped with synthetic hair and inlaid with blue aperture lens 'eyes', facial features have a mimicry of that of a relatively attractive caucasian woman in her mid to late twenties. Deep 'scars' are in fact panels to access internal functions, skin is a synthetic recreation based off of advanced rubber-like- materials, and bone is solid metal. Other than this she maintains an external appearance is a rather average human, outside of the obvious synthetic parts.

PERSONALITY: Literal minded and notably unemotional, it is to be expected of what could be seen as a newborn is somewhat difficult to interact with. Questions given answers that are too simple, phrases taken to the utmost seriousness ('everything but the kitchen sink' being notably damaging), laws and social guidelines otherwise ignored at times for 'better cause'. While it's expected that ELISA isn't exactly trying to be difficult, it does result in some otherwise memorable experiences.

POWERS / SKILLS:
    Metal and Code: A machine through and through, ELISA does not require sleep, water, food or waste removal. Simply maintenance after extreme circumstances. Durable enough to withstand shockwaves that would obliterate someone's internal organs, falls that would leave someone's bones powder, and capable of maintaining foot speed for days before requiring joint maintenance from the friction.

    An endoskeleton that provides limb and torso structure is composed of Tantaloy-61, providing a heat resistance up to nearly 2300 degrees celsius without structural deformity. A redundant motor control system of finely tuned servos and synthetic muscles of a piezoelectric state can induce running speeds of 35 km/h, and a punching force of nearly 4600 newtons. Shock absorbers in the legs can withstand the full force of a fall from 20 meters, with structural failure fully occurring at 180 meters.

    Mental reaction time is measured in nanoseconds, though the beginning of movement takes significantly longer to within one tenth of a second. ELISA is capable of devoting processing power across tasks, she can keep track of bus routes, flight paths, internal alarms, and files taxes while in the middle of a firefight.

    The skin on the torso and face is made from a porous composite polymer replicating human skin, while the arms, legs, and neck are composed of nanocomposite solar cells, allowing solar power to be used to supplement the reactor located in the abdomen, as well as sustain power in an emergency boot mode. Patches of skin also contain receivers for chemical analyzers, electric thermometers and atmospheric static.

    Internal workings are located primarily in the head and chest with coolant and lubricant tanks located in the stomach and lower abdomen. Coolant/lubricant consists of silicone oil and has a capacity of 8 liters. The upper abdomen contains the coolant pump and heat moderator, releasing excess heat along the spine, and pumping coolant and lubrication to the servos and internal components. In the event of over-pressure of the coolant system, coolant can be vented out through the porous skin, a back up air coolant system mimics human breathing by taking air into the chest cavity and expelling it.

    Moving into the chest cavity, there are four major components located here behind the armored chassis surrounding it. The core, maintaining the 'soul' of ELISA, consisting of a hard drive and prototype quantum state drive, allowing several computers worth of processing power and memory to be packed into an object roughly the size of a human heart. The second is the two capacitor banks, both of them storing power for use when all reactors fail, and acting as a moderator so power is not being directly drawn from ELISA's power sources. The last two items are located in in the chest cavity behind extra shielding of gold and lead. Two radioisotope thermoelectric generators on either side of the chest cavity produce a constant 10 kW when active and equipped with Plutonium 238 or 3 Kw with Americium-241 rods installed. As a side effect, cherenkov radiation can sometimes be seen for brief moments on the arms and torso upon the earnest booting of the reactor, or when power draw increases dramatically.

    The Head contains telecomms equipment, allowing ELISA to communicate both verbally with others as well as an inbuilt satellite phone, a multiband capable FM Radio receiver and transmitter, ocular equipment, auditory receivers, digital air pressure sensor, and moisture sensor. Allowing ELISA to maintain contact with people at distances, as well as monitor local weather patterns. Externally, the head also contains futura fibers to replicate blonde hair.
    Direct Upload: While currently a blank slate, ELISA has a capacity for knowledge at the same level as humans, do, capable of learning any manner of skills which should pique her interest or otherwise be sen as something she needs to know.As of current, ELISA knows:
    • Code for EpocOS.
    • Basic human biology.
    • Full lay out map of the Bay Area and Sacramento.
    • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
    • Advanced calculus.
    • A catalogue of 1847 different species of animal.
WEAKNESSES:
    Machine of a Heart: ELISA -despite the best efforts of Epoch- cannot feel emotion, perhaps mimic it, but cannot earnestly feel the emotions humans do. As a result, her actions take the most logical path physically allowed, regardless of what or who is in the way, or where it may be. Possibly resulting in colossal damages to both people and structures.
    Unshielded: The only part of her that would be shielded by an EMP is her core and the two radioisotope reactors. If rendered offline via an EMP, she would be helpless to those who would prey on her. Redundancy would allow her to survive if her core was left untampered with, but she would be unable to fight or escape.
    Static Form: ELISA has no capacity for healing, any damage done will be permanent unless she can make it to a team that can repair her.

BACKSTORY: Enhanced Learning Intuitive Supercomputer, Ambulatory, a name given to a personal experiment created by Anthony Cross with the goals of alleviating public wariness of AI and hopefully advancing mankind's understanding of their own minds as a result. E.L.I.S.A. is a bipedal synthetic humanoid who's main goal is to perform tasks in public to dissuade hostile reaction against AI in the future, as well as act as a personal assistant, bodyguard, and confidant of Anthony Cross.

As of current, E.L.I.S.A. is not known to the public at large, the most the world has seen of it is paparazzi photos of a woman through heavily tinted glass. Simply remaining with Cross for a majority of it's 'life' it has had no real experiences beyond simple orientation testing and calibrating. But for perhaps the first time, she's ready to merge into the public eye.

I am not against speedsters, but past the speed of sound seems a bit much.

Nanofiber is a bit beyond the level of tech commonly available. Not to mention Power dampening works in the form of medication tailored to the Metahuman in question. As such they are expensive and time consuming to make and not used for minor meta criminals. If she was taking those her powers would not work in any capacity, she would be a baseline human for all intents and purposes. Metahuman creation is off the table for now not a thing.

Metahumans are all born with a certain something, it is this something which allows them to have powers. Metahumans typically have the capacity for powers from birth, but most commonly a great physical or mental trauma lets them actively manifest their powers. It is because of this that we do not see children tossing their bullies off cliffs or throwing fireballs in classrooms. Some think it is like this because the body and mind instincitvely know that it would not last long while wielding the powers the Metahuman could have. any scientists have taken to calling this something the MetaGene.

My theory is that this Gene we discovered, once manifested differently, than it does for most Meta's today. This would at least partially why some beings mentioned in myths Such as the Wendigo, were so powerful, yet had very noticeable drawbacks to that power. As of yet this theory has not been proven, but I also Propose that some Meta's genes might even tend to run in families, only cropping up here and there, like recessive physical traits. My third proposition is that the Meta Emergence we have experienced in the past several years, may be a more modern version of the Era's with the so called monsters and magic of the past. We have entered the Age of Heroes since Mr Invincible came out into the public eye back in 2003.

I see many possible issues arising with the body part vibration with IV Needles in their arms. Additionally Tin is naturally present in the human body not to mention most foods we eat by virtue of the soil. Not that tin is a bad weakness.

Milo stands at around 6'1" tall. He has black hair, brown eyes, and a lean but strong build akin to a cross country or track runner.

PERSONALITY: Most of the time, Milo is outgoing, flamboyant, and hot-headed, making it difficult sometimes for people to distinguish if he is being sarcastic or serious. Deep down inside, though, he has a heart of gold and a strong moral compass towards doing the right thing, even if it means risking his safety for the sake of others. His lack of experience in the "professional" field of being a hero also means that Milo is naive towards certain things.

AFFILIATION: Deciding, currently a Vigilante leaning to Hero

POWERS / SKILLS:
    Enhanced Condition: Milo's physical stats are above even peak human levels, or can simply be considered "superhuman." This means that he possesses greater strength, speed, agility, and durability when compared to those with peak human levels, but this is not to extraordinarily high lengths.
    Enhanced Charisma: Something about Milo's personality and demeanor makes others subtly more inclined to have a positive impression of him. Even he doesn't know if it's just him, or if it's another ability.

WEAKNESSES:
    Lack of Experience: Milo has little to no experience with actual vigilante work, or even hero work, for that matter. Most of his experience comes from simple street fighting and brawls at school, meaning he has little to no experience with actually fighting other metahumans.
    Psychic Powers: Milo, for some reason, is inherently weak to those with psychic powers, specifically telepathy and mind control.
    Increased Caloric Intake: This essentially means that Milo has no infinite stamina, and using more of his powers more often (like pushing himself for his strength and speed) will quickly leave him tired and in a weakened state. The more tired he is, the weaker his powers will become.

BACKSTORY: Milo Rivera was born into a rather unremarkable lower class family in San Francisco. Like most kids his age, he had a rather regular upbringing, enjoying sports like basketball and football, hanging out with his friends, etc. As far as he was concerned, no one in his immediate family had any abilities. His father, a former Marine who set up a mechanic shop when he returned home, didn't have any superpowers. Nor did his overprotective mother, or even their dog. Nonetheless, the Riveras loved their son to death, doing their best to keep their son in the best situation that they could, despite financial issues. Milo himself was a well-rounded kid for the most part and just your average high schooler, always running a mile every day and keeping his mind and body healthy all for the hope of making it somewhere, someday. He liked things like anime and cute girls and cars, but always had a strong moral compass and a desire to look out for the underdogs, foreshadowing his future endeavors.

However, unbeknownst to everyone, Milo, despite seeming normal, was hiding a latent secret that would only come out during one fateful day in high school. To say the least, what happened that day was quite interesting: Milo got into a fight with another student at school—rather, four students—taking them out of commission with ease and coming out without a scratch. It was at this moment that the truth behind Milo's miraculous victory was revealed to the school and his parents: his latent meta-gene, which had been dormant until he reached puberty, had come out now. It was revealed that Milo's powers were not too different from the very shounen manga and anime he enjoyed, including a charismatic attitude that made the others subtly believe it was a noble act of self-defense, which, technically, it was. The same group of delinquents had been terrorizing the school for quite a time, so Milo was bound to find some clues as to what their motives were.

As he entered high school, still closely following the rabbit trail left behind by what would otherwise amount to an irrelevant gang of school delinquents, it became clear to Milo that the crime problem in his community was very much out of control, permeating not just life at school, but life in the community itself. Even after being pardoned by the school and told not to use his powers on the school premises again, Milo couldn't bare to just stand around and let the wave of crime overtake his neighborhood and school, not when he had powers, at least.

And, so, Milo took it upon himself to combat this wave of crime whenever he could, whilst trying to maintain his decent grades in school. As the threats get more dangerous and concerns about school change to concerns about college, Milo often finds himself questioning whether or not doing this alone—and without any experience whatsoever—was the right idea.
