Hello PM, what do you think of the economic reforms and free market support the UR party is going through right now? And what do you think of opening up the markets after half a century?

Hi Randomdue123, I think the economy should remain in the free market structure that Zhirov created, and I would like to create tax cuts. I would also like to reform Russian antitrust and competition laws to stop corporations from disrupting the free market. While Russia has Soviet-era restrictions on horizontal mergers, we need a better way to deal with shady vertical mergers.

The Reporter continues, “What is your opinion on the Russian minorities that currently live in the former Soviet Republics that are being oppressed and neglected by their states? How do we help them?”

"Poor souls, it is unfortunate so many of the ex-Soviet Republics hate Russians because of mistakes if the Soviet Union, I think there are a few options, either get those minorities to move into Russia, which is, for me at least, not preferable or, convince ex-Soviet Republics government to treat them better, or, send aid to them"

The reporter asked another question.

“Is it possible the states could merge with Russia and become Russian oblasts or states?”

Serebrov walked out on to the stage of the UR rally. There were easily thousands of people here. And there were probably hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people watching this at home. Some people cheered and clapped as he walked on.

“Thank you, thank you. I am excited to be able to give the opening speech at our 2017 United Russia rally. We are currently the majority party. We hold more seats in every legislature. We control the State Duma, the Federation Council, and he Regional Parliaments. The majority of governors also belong to our party. And it’s all because of you, our most loyal party members. During Zhirov’s term, and more importantly, when United Russia has been in power, Russia has experienced economic growth never seen before!"

Serebrov was nervous, but he was so excited he did a good job hiding it. The crowd roared again, they were even more excited this time. Serebrov pauses again, waiting for the crowd to finish. He then turned around and gave the thumbs up to get Zhirov ready for the meeting.

“And now, here comes President Zhirov,” Serebrov said. He made his way towards the edge of the stage to let the President talk.

UR Rally

Zhirov straightened his tie and walked on stage to see the roaring crowd. He stepped up to the podium and nodded in the crowd’s direction.

“Since the collapse of the corrupt and undemocratic USSR, Russia has been on a downwards economic trend… until now. The reforms pushed by the United Russia party has made sure that Russia’s markets are now free, and that we moved on with the rest of the world. The economy is improving this minute, and I promise that the situation here will be much better very soon. Russia will regain its former glory! The communists may want to push us back into their corrupt system, but we all know they’re just doing it because they want their private jets and sleek limousines back. Gone are the days when it would take a decade for a bank transaction to be made, or where buying a car took more time than a full time job. Russia is back in business.

The elections that we have contested in the past have been won overwhelmingly, we have won because the people have put their faith in United Russia. We have won cleanly, fairly, and democratically. Russia is no longer a dictatorial one party communist state. The world needs to understand that Russia is becoming stronger by the day. We will not back down from any threats. We have liberated the people of Crimea from the oppressive Ukrainian government, and have maintained control of the peninsula consistently. It is no longer constantly patrolled by soldiers every day, the people of Crimea have recognized Russia as their country.

Our foreign policy has also shifted. We are no longer imperialists who push our ideology on the countries of the world, because as we can see, those countries have now turned their backs on us. We were the reason Vietnam and Mongolia even exist as they do, but the minute we left, they broke ties with us. Interventionist imperialism is an outdated concept, and the Soviet Union made the mistake of being what they swore to destroy.

We seek to improve relations with the world, but we will not blindly submit to the West. The West keeps pressing sanctions on us, some of our enemies have gone to join NATO. The countries with Russian minorities are looking to join Western organizations like NATO and the EU, but we will make sure no such thing happens. The West wants to make Russia weak, they are afraid of Russia, as its consistently becoming more and more powerful by the day. We will not submit to Western ambitions.

Prime Minister Serebov, you are willfully ignorant of the truth in front of your eyes. The truth is laid bare upon the ground: In the years of 1945-1975, the Soviet economy grew by 200%. Two hundred percent! And do you know the average growth of the former Soviet economies since 1990? Less than 15%.. Shameful, isn't it?

Annual convention of A Just Russia

The great conference hall was filled with delegates and supporters who came to the conference to hear speeches by leaders of A Just Russia and see what the party policy in the upcoming years will be like. Many of them wore traditional red and orange colors of the party and some of them waved Russian flags and placards. One after the other, politicians from all parts of Russian Federation spoke to the applause of the audience. Journalists and camera crews walked about to get statements and everybody was eager to hear chairman Yuzhny speak to the assembled people.

Yuzhny appeared on the podium to the sounds of the applause. He was dressed in a simple blue shirt and trousers, cleanly shaved, People were chanting the nickname under which he was known among the supporters of A Just Russia:

"Vo-Va!" Vo-Va! Vo-Va!"

Yuzhny smiled, waved towards the people and reached for the mic. There was a short burst of static at first, but soon his tenor steadily carried through the hall:

"Comrades, citizens, dear supporters!

In couple of months we will celebrate a 100 years since the day when noble Russian people brought down a corrupt dynasty and her servants that proceeded to starve Russia in a pointless war for interests of the Western powers. Back then, as well as now, Russian people were trying to build a better society led by spirit of freedom and equality. We know today that this dream was later perverted by power hungry dictators but demands for better world that were outlined in 1917 still resound loudly. At present, A Just Russia is the only party that still makes demands for Equality, Solidarity and individual Liberty its definite priority.

There had been lots of debates lately about the direction out Homeland must take in the 21th century and I say to you now that the only path that will take us to that cornucopia of tomorrow is socialism. Not socialism of Lenin and Trotsky but new socialism of 21st century. Socialism that respects workers, peasants, small business owners, pensioners, mothers and children. Socialism that cares about demands of the downtrodden and exploited while holding personal freedom in highest regard. In this year, I promise we will make Russia such a country- country without hunger, crime of poverty. Socialism of the 21st century will be our next Sputnik, satellite shining on dark sky for all the nations to look up to.

We, members of your delegation in State Duma will start working on this launching the very next day. We will reform our tax system in a way that costs of the state aren't paid by those who struggle to lead dignified lives, but by those who get rich on the backs of the workers. We will work to ensure VAT taxes are lowered and income taxes scaled according to the earnings. We will fight encroachment of foreign megacorps on our market and devise protective measures to boost our exports and secure new jobs in manufacturing sector.

There are also challenges in foreign policy. We must fight terrorism that destabilizes the world and threatens to encroach upon our borders and we can do that only by relying on our brave soldiers as well as maintaining strong alliances with leaders who are willing to contribute to that fight. We must send clear message to the governments of Estonia (there are several boo's from the country), Poland and several other countries that their anti-Russian rhetoric will only harm them in the end. We must take care about the problems of climate change that will soon start to affect our lives and thus we must take steps to ratify the Paris climate agreement.

Like our cosmonauts, we of Just Russia always aimed for the stars, not being satisfied by petty squabbles over the past. We will continue to do so for every child that will get to enjoy the future built by our battles and our toil. This is why I am looking forward to tackling every challenge I have mentioned and I am sure we will be able to awaken that sleeping Russia that isn't afraid to dream. Thank you comrades!"

Applause roared and Yuzhny walked towards the exist of the hall, stopping to shake hands with supporters and party members. He stopped before the door, wiped some sweat of his forehead and walked out to face the group of journalist that waited with questions for him.

A journalist shouted a question, “Deputy Yuzhny, AJR relating itself to socialism has caused it to fall in polls with young people, who overwhelmingly support more progressive parties like UR and LDP, how does AJR distance itself from the Communist party?”

Yuzhny smiled and replied calmly: "I trust that the young people will see that, unlike old apparatchiks of the Communist party we stand for democracy and future. Socialism can exist together with the right of every young man and woman too pursue their own happiness in our Motherland, whether as a worker, educated and creative expert or entrepreneur without being burdened by unjust taxes that are keeping the system of inequality in place. We must never forget that core idea of socialism is giving everyone a chance to live a life of dignity and I believe youth of Russia stands passionately behind that idea."

The pleasant female voice with Caucasian accent spoke: "Comrade Kyrlyakov, I'll rely your message to Deputy Yuzhny." After a few minutes Kyrylakov was called back: "Deputy has agreed to meet you after the rally. Will you come to the AJR headquarters in Ulitsa Bol'shaya Dmitrovka, 12?"

Yuzhny spoke: "I believe President Zhirov really quoted exact Statistics, but that statistics means little for people of Russia. Growth is of no use if it benefits only the small elite that keeps taking profits of that growth to offshore bank accounts while people are having hard time keeping ends meet. One can repeat those neoliberal buzzwords over and over again, but they won't put bread on the tables of millions of hard working men. "

Kyrlyakov, after finishing the rally slightly unamused as the party chairman did not give him a speech. He went to the office, ready to begin the meeting.

Kyrlyakov was led into the small but cozy office adorned with AJR campaign posters. Yuzhny obviously just came from the speech, dressed in the same clothes he wore at the party event.He rose from his chair and greeted Kyrylyakov fondly, embracing his hand in two hand handshake:

"Comrade Kyrlyakov! It is a pleasure to have you here! Please take a seat!" he pointed towards comfortable looking easy-chair



A petite young woman with dark hair and brown eyes, dressed in modest business clothes brought huge samovar and soon entered with the rest of the tea seat. Yuzhny smiled at her fondly:

"Thank you, Natalya. Would you like some tea? I always have some in the afternoon. Speeches get me thirsty."

The Reporter than stood up and extended a hand to Aleksei "thank you for this interview, I greatly appreciate you decided to answer those questions" the interview then ended and Aleksei walked out of the studio and then out of the building for a car waiting to take him home
