Egypt's a little much. If you want to try and take Egypt ICly then feel free, but as Sarderistan said there would be numerous historic obstacles stopping you from taking the territory.

Fair enough. Are there any other territories Byzantium could've feasibly reclaimed? I'd say Serbia and Bulgaria, but that would make the Balkans considerably more boring. What about Libya and Tunisia?

Wouldn't it be too far? Considering advanced Western european shipbuilding tech hasn't reached you fully. Serbia and Bulgaria.. now that would set the stage of bloody early WWI a peaceful discussion of European nations. And maybe Bosnia and Croatia as well if hungary hadn't claimed them. Oh and Romania maybe, they're orthodox

Could Byzantium have previously annexed the Black Sea Coast and/or Cyrenaica, Tripoli and Carthage (ie. Libya and Tunisia), its not all that far from Byzantium, and its not infeasible for Constantinople to be looking to solidify its control over the Mediterranean.

Such actions would come with very great repercussions, not from the Italians and the Maghrebs only (and do remember North Africa has the barbary pirates, barbarossa and all the legends that could destroy even western european fleets). The Black Sea is under Russian sphere of influence, and they do not treat such incursions gently (the Ottoman-Russian wars) even when you're in the same religion. And there is the Zaporizhian host, Cossacks, Crimean Khanate, and tatar tribes in your path.

My suggestion: bulid a colonial empire. You have Mesopotamia and Iraq, and the eastern African coast is still very large. There is a reason the Europeans sailed west instead of keep trading with Venice and Istanbul. Constantinople's economic dominance over Europe is practically no more by this point; however, colonies would help you regain gold.

Unfortunately I've been caught up in a lot of real life stuff recently, and I will be for the next couple weeks. This RP hasn't been catching as many players as I had hoped, so I've decided to spend the little time I have remaining for NS stuff in working on other projects, and helping some friends build up their RPs and Ideas. I hope none of you think any less of me, and I hope to one day RP with all of you in a Roleplay I can actually be proud of, but unfortunately I can longer carry on this RP. I wish the best to all of you and hope to see you somewhere around the multiverse in the future.
