The history of Dzyarka started just a couple of decades ago when Yasen Vlaeva came with a group of 500 followers to settle Cassania. His reason to settle the southern isle was not an easy one and one that he felt he had no choice but to do. For his tribe had lost their land and been absorbed into a rival tribe. Rather than serve the tribe that conquered them and after failing to retake his home. Yasen with what followers he had, he chose to leave and find a new place for them to live. Yasen had heard of Cassania's lush, fertile land and decided that Cassania would be their new home. After a long trek and scouting the coastline, Yasen decided to made landfall along the northeastern coastline, right next to the mouth of the Nortague river. Naming the settlement Dzyarka and he was named Zupan after the village was built. Since settling, Dzyarka has grown with other Skalvi immigrating to the settlement. Currently, Dzyarka has problems with Pitaci raiders from the northeast and raids on other settlements by fellow Skalvi has hindered the village's ability to trade by sea as coastal villages think that their longships are hostile.
Description of Settlement:
Located right on the mouth of the Nortague river, just where the river meets the sea. Dzyarka is on the smaller end of settlements though has a slow but growing trade presence in the region. It boasts a sizable harbor sees trade ships from nearby coastal villages and even some from the Skalvi homeland. Dzyarka is surrounded by a wooden palisade with guard towers that dot the settlement's walls. With the main gates being more fortified with watchtowers on each end. All buildings are made out of wood except for the stone burial barrows. The villae has a large temple in the center of the settlement that adorned with religious symbols on both the outside and inside. To the southwest corner of Dzyarka has been reserved for stone barrows most of them are small. The marketplace lies near the harbor to the north of the village. Outside of Dzyarka's lies acres of farmland and pastures. There are two fisheries, one on the northern coastline and another on the banks of the Nortague river.

Religion of Character: Nosari Paganism
Age of Character: 40
Title of Character: Zupan
Backstory of Character: Yasen was born to a small tribe which he father ruled as Zupan. While the tribe was doing well under his father's rule, the tribe suffered a series of misfortunes that made the tribe weak. By Yasen eighteenth birthday, a rival tribe had launched an attack with the goal of taking over his tribe's land. It was a fierce war but, in the end, Yasen's tribe lost and both of his parents were killed. Both their lands and tribe were absorbed into the rival tribe. Two years later, he would attempt to overthrow the rival tribe's control with what followers he had but failed and nearly lost his life in the process. With no chance of retaking his home and on the run. He knew that he could no longer stay in the frozen north and opted to leave to find a new home for him with what followers he had left. Using the last of his gold to buy enough longships for his people and took to the sea. While traveling, Yasen had heard from traders about Cassania and decided that this isle would be his tribe's new home. After weeks of travel, they made it and explored the coastline for a good place to settle. Yasen settled on a spot on the northeastern coastline, right next to the mouth of a river. He named this settlement Dzyarka after his grandfather and was named Zupan by his followers. Twenty years later Yasen is still Zupan and Dzyarka has thrived under his rule. For much longer things stay this way, that remains to be seen.
Description of Character:
Standing at 6'0 and normally wears traditional Skalvi robes. Raised by his parents to be a capable warrior that leads from the front rather than on the sidelines. Yasen is a firm worshipper of Prava, the Goddess of justice, fate and punishment. Though his faith was shaken after what happened to his parents and home. Since the founding of Dzyarka, he has rekindled his faith though it is not as strong as it was before. After losing his home and failing to retake it, it has left Yasen in a depressed state that hid from his companions. Only founding a new home for his people did he start to recover and grew into a fervor for protecting his new home. His goals are the survival of Dzyarka and its people from any threat. Hoping that one day, Dzyarka will thrive and became a strong city that can withstand anything thrown at it.

For really, I think that the poorest he that is in England hath a life to live as the greatest he. And therefore truly, Sir, I think it's clear that every man that is to live under a Government ought first by his own consent to put himself under that Government. And I do think that the poorest man in England is not at all bound in a strict sense to that Government that he hath not had a voice to put himself under.

That's alright, of course. I imagine progress in this RP may be quite slow, and so feel free to take your time in posting. I know I will.
Expect IC up sometime today/tomorrow (for those of you who aren't in my timezone).

That's fair. Skalvi are essentially vikings with Slavic flavor. As for how many would be in a tribe, it really depends. How new is it, how many ships formed the "vanguard" of the tribe, and where would the land be located?

So Kievan Rus essentially.
My previous app's location, just in the plains between mountains and northern sea. The number of ships would be somewhat more than the Vikings series (check it out) invasion force to Britain (60-80). Is that suitable?
