That's what we want to. Just a little more conceited.

Can I post several apps in one post, or will I have to spread them out?

Are small-scale empires allowed to join? I can’t have the entire Coalition in this roleplay, because their story has them as basically dominating the galaxy, but I think one of the old space empires they absorbed would work.

I’m gonna hope the answer’s yes. If not, I’ll change this.

Species Name: Voleo
Homeworld: Mazoun
Species Physiology: Voleo are bobcat-sized leonoids with a brightly-colored, feathery mane that is covered by dull brown coverts when not actively being displayed. The rest of their body is likewise covered in small, sleek, waterproof feathers. They are amphibious- their young are fully aquatic and rarely if ever leave their spawning pools, and the adults are mostly terrestrial (though they will occasionally swim for recreation or to fish).

A voleo’s head is more or less a sensory stalk with teeth and on it- their brain case is safely nestled in their torso, and they breathe through slits in their chest. Most of the bulk in a voleo’s head that may look like it could hide a brain case is in fact accessory glands for their reproductive system and muscle attachments for their powerful jaws and prehensile tongue. They are capable of ‘spitting’ a mildly acidic substance from a gland under their tongue (which, lacking hands, they use to manipulate items)- this mostly consists of nutrients for feeding the spawning pools, and is generally harmless unless they hit someone directly in the eye.

In full display, their mane displays as iridescent black feathers with fluorescent green and blue eyespots. Most voleo decorate their manes further with silver dust, LED lights, and makeup. Proper mane upkeep is vital, because a pretty mane is equivalent to social status, which is equivalent to real, legal status.
Description: Voleo are scrappy little bastards. They will happily and heartily challenge people and creatures from a far higher weight class than them. They will also heartily get the shit kicked out of them if they take it too far, because they rarely top more than 30 lbs and usually hover around 20. They are naturally hierarchal, so it usually only takes one shit-kicking for them to get the idea.

Voleo society is rigidly stratified. Children are adopted once they leave the spawning pools, and are adopted to a specific job that they are raised for for their entire life. Unclaimed children will be raised by the government for whatever positions are needed. Usually, these are low-class jobs. Social mobility between layers is almost nonexistent, and social status within the layers is taken dead seriously. Challenging a fellow for status usually resolved with a mane display, followed by physical fighting, followed by political fighting. Settling things with politics is considered uncouth.

Because of their relationship with the Ten-Tasharn Confederacy, voleo have trouble accepting aliens not in the Confederacy that have higher status than them. Because of this, voleo have a reputation for being, well, scrappy little bastards.
Other Information:Subordinate species in the Ten-Tasharn Confederacy, second only to the Ten-Tasharn themselves. Usually trotted out when the Ten-Tasharn don’t want to deal with something that does, in fact, need dealing with.

If given half a chance, voleo will dress in any manner that lets them flare their mane if they need to. They do NOT like spacesuits and will try to get away with just a ventilator at every opportunity. This isn’t just vanity- it’s a legitimate psychological concern.

State Name: The Chorian Republic
Government: Unitary Republic
Description: The Chorian Republic extends a number of three star systems, each one bearing six planets at the very least. It has its capital on the continental planet of Choria Prime, located in the Mid Rim's inner fringes, protected by several starbases, and orbiting its sun Korus. Choria Prime itself is a beautiful planet wrought with architecture and arts, and there is many who would make it their leasure destination, with the entertainment industry vibrant and running. However, the Republic itself put their economic emphasis on industry; buliding of starships, starbases, warp engines and generators, telecommunications devices, practically any technology that is used galactic-wide. As such, the Republic has several planets dedicated to maintain this economic engine. Kataar Prime, for example, is half an ecumenopolis - a world dotted by massive shipyards and engine factories, with smoke plumetting hard into the atmosphere. Whatever water left is a rarity, purified and commercialized, where the others are simply used for boiling engines. Another Chorian world is Choria II. The planet is a massive trade and industry entrepot, while not producing gigantic materials like its neighbours, Choria II is a center of technological development on the small scale. Pads, electronic systems, holograms, voice links, practically any items regarding the matter can be found produced in Choria II, although the state has failed to create a monopoly. Over and all, the Republic is ruled by a council of representatives - strictly human - that elected the Prime Minister of Choria, the head of government, and the President of Choria as the head of state. There are 24 individual states in the Republic, called Provinces, every of them had a right for a councilseat. Since Choria's introduction to the larger Galactic Republic, the state had been sending Senators to work as the extension of Choria.
Demographics: Choria is composed of ninety-percent human, the state's founders and buliders. To take a position in the government, it requires one to be human - not in paper, of course - but there is an unspoken habit about it. Other species live in Choria as observers and merchants, and sometimes luxurious travellers who decided to stay in one of Choria's vibrant, beautiful worlds.
Region: The Mid Rim, inner part.
Culture: Choria is a libertarian society founded in the principles of freedom and democracy. Every citizen has the right to choose their own lives, regarding of birth or status. Being a mercantile and industrial republic, it is to be expected that Chorian society revolves around wealth; one's amount of credits is paramount to any political or individual power.
Economy: A burgeoning industrial state, the Chorian Republic exerts a large amount of wealth and economic output, becoming one of - if not already - the richest states in the Mid Rim. The Republic put an economic emphasis on industrial activities, becoming one of the galaxy's main suppliers of Warp Drive engines, spaceships, telecommunication devices, and others. Its location at the inner Mid Rim also made Choria a crossroads of intergalactic trade, and the state did capitalized much of this situation, exerting taxes wherever they can.

You can make one of each app type.Empires are allowed and power is determined by the type of stats you choose. You cannot play as a nation outside the Republic however.

Also there are many star nations outside the Republic but there all small fries at least for now.Collectivly the Galactic Republic dominates the galaxy for now.

Are we allowed to use our own (OG) species from our own stories and stuff (if we're writers)? Or do we have to make brand-new OG species?
Anti-this stupid trend of putting political beliefs in signatures. You're all kids playing big man on a rip-off of the Civilization series. If you all knew how to influence policies and run nations you wouldn't be on a Mongolian basket weaving forum (this one). Time to grow up, children.

Senator Name: Valerius Cael
Senator Species: Human
Senator Gender: Male
Senator Age: 36
Senator Appearance:
Senator Personality: Senator Cael was a charming bureaucrat who earned his place through close connections with the current Chorian regime and tons of wealth. He enjoys life, to an extent - and is generally a pleasant man.
Senator Bio: WIP
Senator Main Strength:
Expert Businessman: Cael was the Chairman of a massive state-owned shipbuilding industry back home, and he owned stocks in almost all major telecommunication corporations in the Galaxy.
Intrigue Master: Cael used his wealth and connections to gain everything in life - power, influence, and the Senator seat. He is one to easily kill someone that stands in his proposals, and quick to do shady dealings also.
Senator Main Weakness:
Stubborn: A staunch believer in his views, namely democracy, freedom, and money, Cael is a hard person to convince and even harder to argue.
Drunk: Senator Cael is an avid drinker at times, preferring wine over political deals sometimes. This made him very vulnerable, and a sort of forgetful.
Political Party: Vulkanist Party

Right Right. Looks to me like something I should get in on...will join with a rather expansive Star State, the Ukete First Union. Militant isolationist, generally, who'll probably be a little like the USSR in how we enjoy our foreigners...at a distance, with a gun pointed at them. Seventeen trillion souls, give or take a few, for a total population.

We make ships. Big friggin ships. Should be fun.

Yes, although the same could be said for any industrialised capitalist nation.

State Name: The Ten-Tasharn Confederacy
Government: Despite the name, it’s actually an empire.
Description: The Ten-Tasharn Confederacy is an empire claiming eleven star systems, including the homeworlds of four different alien species. They’re also not happy about running into an alliance of a great many alien races and have joined only reluctantly, and only because they can’t be hostile to everyone at once without that backfiring spectacularly on them.
Demographics: Mostly ten-tasharn, followed closely by voleo and hyatal. Ligofala are by far the least populous, being an iron age species whose homeworld was only recently conquered. The Confederacy finds them adorable and is actively working to increase their numbers.
Region: Straddling the mid and outer rims.
Culture: The ten-tasharn are on top, everyone else is on the bottom. In all respects, “the Confederacy” really means just the ten-tasharn portion of it. Client species are allowed a small amount of self governance if they are doing so in Confederacy interests, and in all other circumstances are ruled by either a ten-tasharn or a closer and more powerful client species. Client species may be given tasks (such as running an asteroid mine or participating in the Republic Senate) that the ten-tasharn feel are beneath them. This is why the Senator is a voleo.

The Confederacy has little interest in alien art or culture, or anything else that doesn’t directly bring wealth to them. The ligofala and voleo do, and many of the former have outright expressed an interest in alien art forms. As they’re on the bottom of the pecking order, however, they have little opportunity for this interest to turn into anything more solid.

Any individuals seeking to join the Confederacy need to keep this in mind: they will not be treated as equals. They will be treated as curiosities and a source of labor.
Economy: Industry and resource based. Strikingly feudal on close appearance- client species pay taxes to local governors, who pay taxes to the Confederacy as a whole. The governors, not the Confederacy, decide the tax rate on the client species. This usually means that individual client species settlements are taxed within an inch of their life and see no benefits back from it while the governors live in luxury.

Raw materials it exports includes slaves (usually in the form of domestic servants, because neither voleo nor ligofala are strong enough for hard labor), food/water/air/etc, and gasses such as helium-3 and chlorine. Processed good exports include fuel, batteries, semiconductors, and a wide variety of electronic goods up to and including translator modules. Confederacy translators are widely considered the best and most accurate on the market.

They import luxury goods (mostly domestic servants of alien races not currently part of the Confederacy) and are working on saving up enough to just straight-up buy star systems from other members. If they can’t expand in one way, they will in another.
History (Optional): They came, they conquered, they ran into someone they couldn’t conquer, and finally decided to try to settle in and expand their reach in another way since militarily wasn’t going to work out.

Senator Name: Senator
Senator Species: Voleo
Senator Gender: Voleo lack genders- their only visible sex difference is in the size and number of eyespots on their mane, and since the total amount of bright colors evens out across those two qualifiers, it really doesn’t matter to them. Use singular “they,” please.
Senator Age: 12 in Mazoun years (human equivalent of 53. They be old and grizzled)
Senator Appearance: Senator is clearly getting on in years. Their body feathers are starting to go grey, their teeth starting to run out of replacements. If they hadn’t had extensive work done (you know, artificial color touch-ups for the spots, darkening for the background color, bioluminescent patches implanted, etc), their mane would even be beginning to dull.

Their front right paw is artificial, thanks to a dominance fight long ago in which their opponent managed to almost completely sever it with a bite. The prosthetic looks almost like a chrome version of the real thing, but is flexible enough to use to manipulate objects almost like an actual hand. A much more recent fight has left their tail feathers in severe disarray- until those grow back in, Senator will be wearing a croupiere over their rump in order to hide this. They are also wearing their usual respirator, translator, and microphone.
Senator Personality: Proud, righteous, extremely loyal to the Confederacy. Very convinced of their superiority over every other senator and not at all reluctant to express this.
Senator Bio: Born on Mazoun and claimed by a governor for one of the more recent colonies, to eventually replace said governor. This happened as usual as these things go- the governor had adopted two others with the intention of choosing the most capable as successor, the three of them fought consistently (but not constantly, as that would be crass) with both mane displays and physical bouts (Senator’s paw was lost to one of these bouts- their opponent was severely reprimanded for going too far), and Senator eventually won out. The other two became their advisors.

During reign as governor after the previous one’s retirement, the Confederacy ran into the Republic and found they could not make it yield. Several governors were asked to give up their positions in order to deal with these newcomers, and Senator volunteered. They won their position from the other candidates and was soon renamed and plopped down in the Republic Senate.
Senator Main Strength:
Prosperous: Senator spent many Earth-equivalent years running a colony not to destruction, and has gotten it to not only turn a substantial profit but to do so while keeping the peasants clients healthy and secure, though definitely not living in luxury.
Senator Main Weakness:
Abrasive: Senator not just believes, but KNOWS that every alien not part of the Confederacy isn’t worth the dirt beneath their claws. Including other senators. This does not make them popular.
Political Party: Unaligned, is currently looking to see which ones, if any, try to court them to join them.
