Yes this isn't like the last game everyone is going to be apart of the republic in the beginning.

Kinda of. You can also do other things with your senator in the IC campaign, politick, campaign, network, intrigue, and scheming yadda yadda.

Actually, Bla Ary looking at your app, your empire seems to not fit the theme of the roleplay. This game is supposed to about roleplaying as a galactic senator, I find it hard to believe that such a xenophobic empire could exist within the realm of the Republic in the heart of the galactic core which is practically the most liberal, region in the galaxy.

I'd like it if you revised your app to make your state a little more diplomatic and work with the Republic in mind.

To counter any concerns you (the OP) may have about an anarchic nation joining the Republic since my nation is an anarcho-capitalist society it can be reasoned that the top corporations would join in the case that it would increase interstellar trade profits and provide security of a sort as war would be discouraged universe-wide which isn't usually good for business. If not, then I guess I can remain outside the Republic for a time and see where that leads.

You could roleplay as a corporate state but yeah the one low bar requirement is having a government of some type.

State Name: Axial
Government: Constitutional Monarchy
Description: Axial is a ring-world surrounding a planet that in inhospitable to all life except maybe certain bacteria. The ringworld was built with millions of shipyards of all shapes and sizes, towering commercial centers, and a strong sense of national pride.The planet they orbit, colloquially nicknamed the "Iron Giant" , is a gas giant that carries with it large amounts of Iron and a form of hydrocarbon that is easily harvested into ship fuel. The Ringworld, long ago built by an Empire that is no more, achieved independence by producing a large fleet and having a large population to defend itself. Its downsides however is that it cannot feed its people. The Star kills all plant life it would seem, and livestock are very expensive to keep with no way of cheaply feeding them. So the government, under the rule of the Eternal Ruler of the Market, feeds its people by cornering the market on shipbuilding and fuel exports, and would do anything to keep it that way.
Demographics: Axials are the name given to the people of the ring, of which there is no one species. However, all who live in the ring consider themselves part of the same country. They elect their representatives and strife is kept at a minimum. The primary species are the Karbians.
Region: Middle - Rim
Culture: A meritocracy in all regards, you get nowhere without extensive effort in everything.The only times you will ever see an Axial relax and aloof is if it is in the best interests to do so.
Economy: Booming, as they try their hardest to corner the hardest market they can: Shipbuilding
History (Optional): Born from the ashes of a long forgotten empire, the people of the ring formed a new government that quickly fell apart. What followed was decades of fighting, areas were so torn by the fighting that parts of the ring are considered "lost" as they cannot be used in any way due to wars. However, one group quickly rose to power and united the ring under the rule of the first king of Axial, King Rexlander. Under him it was established that the Ring would see everyone equally, the shift from the feudal system that dominated them before to the industrial powerhouse they are. It is him that they are still ruled under, however King Rexlander stepped down from his seat of total power to let the people govern themselves, as he saw this as a way of stabilizing the fledgling nation (as well as make him popular in the eye of the public). Under him the Market Parliay was established , of which each segment of the ring and its peoples were respected and represented. The King largely keeps out of the legal affairs, as well as public for that matter. Its been a while since anyone has seen the king...

Senator Appearance: Alexis is a stately man , he carries himself like a royal in tsarist Russia, and he looks like one too. He has a silver pointed beard that falls to his collarbone and a curly and long mustache in the same color. He wears purple robes , accented in pins of gold. A black undershirt underneath with very simple garb. Various gold chains adorn his body at many places, one a globe with the ring-world going around it( his most treasured piece, as he was gifted it from the king). His hair is slicked back in a mix of dark black with hints of silver being thrown in. His eyes do not sag, and look violent to any who are on the receiving end. His voice is a deep and articulate, and carries with it a demanding presence.
Senator Personality: When conducting law and his job he is the hardest, staunch [insert the side of the political issue he's supporting]. He is in the best interest of his people and nothing more, and will die on any hill as long as it means he gets what he needs. When not conducting law? A very dark humor and silent type. He gives short answers to everything and when he does they are often so out of left-field no one expects them. Serious in the court room ,stubborn and politically suicidal if need to. Outside? Just a big guy who speaks little.
Senator Bio: Born to a family of shipyard builders, he had always known the struggle. The Struggle to eat, the struggle to find money to eat, the struggle to excel where others in his family could not and the struggle of not letting others hold him back. He went from job to job ,climbing the ladder as carefully and painlessly as possible through a series of masterful plans. It is said he was given the United Galactic Council Position so that they could be rid of him for seven years. He joined the government at age 23, and soon after became governor of the biggest shipyard in the ring, after exposing the previous governor of having cheated his way up that position(a cultural taboo).He used his newfound power to shape the future of the country, upping the standard of living and productivity of his segment. He was soon uplifted by Parilay and sent away to the council to represent their people after their other senator committed suicide by airlock. Here, is in his element. Planning, ladder climbing, and politics.

New to P2TM I take it? Honestly could never get invested in the WA, always felt like the passing of bills was largely arbitrary - but I've also known people who really loved participating in it.

Industry I'd imagine, for manufacturing of weaponory and warships mining for metal ores needed for said machinery and agriculture to feed the troopers also describing your nation as militaristic help establish that ICly.
