Capitol Planet of Cosmopolis
Introduction:
The United Galactic Republic, a loose confederation of interstellar states, united in the name of galactic peace and harmony. Forged in the fires of the Cybernetic Wars, crafted by the diplomatic efforts of countless alien species across the galaxy the Republic as stood by three tenements since it's founding centuries ago. To ensure galactic welfare, to provide the defense, and to ensure that the galactic states have the blessings of liberty and justice. Our story begins in the Galactic Senate, where politicians compete with each other for power and influence on the galactic stage. It is in that fabled institution of democracy that the dice are rolled, and decisions made that impact the entire galaxy for better or worse.
Here in this democratic hall, senators may push legislation as they see fit. To resolve conflicts between warring worlds, debate on topics of importance, raise and levy taxes, and form departments to manage governance, all of these are within the domain of the Galactic Senate. In this day and age, the star nations hold ultimate supremacy, but that may change. The Galactic Republic as dealt with numerous conflicts in its long history, invasions from alien empires, civil war, rogue AI, plague, and economic downturns. Who knows what troubles will face the Republic in the future both from within and outside, the strengthening of the national government could prove significant in facing these crises, but that may or may not run counter to the original goals the writers had when forming the Republic.

Roleplay Concepts
Mechanics in this game will be very light, and the style of the game is inherently freeform. Stats exist more as a measure of what your character and state are capable of more than anything else. Otherwise, you are free to do roleplay as you desire, within reason of course. There will be special scenarios thrown in primarily when senators legislate on matters as well as to the actions of the senators themselves.

Outer Rim: The farthest reaches of the the Republic here lies the agrarian worlds of the Outer Rim.The people of the Outer Rim are hardy and have a distrust of outsiders, given that it was front line of the Cybernetic invasions. It hosts numerous agrarian and mining worlds, entire planets dedicated to growing food, or strip mining the surface of planets for mineral wealth. The people are poor, ruled by nobles who own most of the wealth this region produces and slavery is still legal while it has been outlawed in most Middle and Core worlds.
