Marius nodded to himself. The MP knew what she was doing, and she had the nonpartisan background to suit. Most importantly, she had been bold enough to come forward.

"I am very happy to second and offer my full support to the nomination of Helena De Willoughby Shah, to the office of Speaker."

Hugo watches as the various agreements in nomination go by. He thinks through the situation thoroughly in his head. She was a more left leaning MP, but then again, so was he, at the left end of his party. Her progressive views were, although more extreme then his, similar. Aside from that her status as an independent meant she would not be tied up in the politics of the parties and would be able to make clearer decisions. Finally coming to a consensus he looked up. "I support the nomination of Willoughby Shah for Speaker. Her status as an independent presents this Parliament an opportunity we may never see again, and her status as our first Speaker will not be favoring any party."

Christiano walks over to the Speaker's chair and sits in it, as without any set of rules and procedures, there is no official method to select a Speaker.

Lance laughed. "I may not own Vision Industries anymore, but I sure as hell am still rich. I'll follow the Party, I guess. We'll remake the more preferable parts later." Lance noticed his cigar was out. "Damn," he whispered.

He grabbed another one, preparing to light it. He glanced up at Henry. "Want one?"
