"When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross." is basically the motto of my party. I'm more the far-right populists that have taken over modern politics as opposed to direct and open fascists.

So there's a bit of chat in the background about national currency and I figured I'd bring it up here. At present, I think a lot of us are running on the assumption that we're currently using a local version of the Swedish Krona, though that might change.

Some people want to use the Dollar, which makes sense for tourism reasons. I personally want to push for a local currency, because that will allow us to devalue our currency to strengthen exports of goods like sugar. A lot of it depends on where we want to focus economically.

Also, we could try to keep a swedish currency, but that's for the crazy monarchists to figure out.

My guy is a committed Nazi; I don't know whether you want that flavor in your party. May I suggest that we keep our parties independent, but that we act under one unified political umbrella instead (so like a coalition)?

I'm for a local currency as well. Then we don't have to worry about other countries affecting us, and a weaker currency makes more sense for a developing economy like ours.

Maybe there could be a system similar to the British, in that Saint Lucia still uses the krona- but has two kinds, the locally printed one with tender only in Saint Lucia and the krona from Sweden proper? Sint Maarten and St Pierre and Miquelon also have good systems to mimic- Sint Maarten officially uses the Euro but also accepts the US dollar due to tourism, and St Pierre uses the Euro and the Canadian dollar. Just some food for thought and debate.

Currently the Liberal Alliances position is in favor of dollarization either with the full use of the dollar or as a parallel currency. It will help spur investment, give us a strong and stable currency to use, and also allows for simplification of international trade since most currency exchange happen through the US dollar. This helps us to developed a stable economy.

The Greens are likely to support a local currency or keeping the crown paired with the acceptance of USD to support the tourism industry and, as Mayolagne mentions, simplify international trade.
