Platoon Commander
(The Platoon Commander will be part of his HQ, or a Vehicle Commander)

Image

Name: Christian Lambert
Age: 28
Rank: First Lieutenant
Appearance: 5'11, 18- lbs, medium build, dark brown hair
Ethnicity: French
Biography: The youngest of three, Christian is the son of a Korean war veteran who would be brought down as one of the original advisers for the Vietnam conflict. Then Captain Lambert had gained valuable war experience in Korea and would teach ARVN for the better part of Christian's childhood. No matter how many men would get sent overseas, it was never enough to keep his dad at home. He was a devout believer in their mission overseas and Christian did not resent him for that. He spent a lot of his time as a kid exploring the swamp and the woods behind his house with his older brother and sister when he wasn't in school. As a child he wasn't incredibly popular. Much to the chagrin of his mother, Christian quite looked up to his father, and wanted to enlist. To his mother's relief, the war in Vietnam had come to a close by the time he was legally allowed to enlist. While still wanting to enlist, both parents pushed for him to go to college and get an education. While his father would be a career military man (him now being a Major) he still wanted his son to have a back up plan, a way out if anything were to happen, and it wasn't pessimism, but pragmatism. Christian went to Fletcher Technical Community College to get his mechanical technologies certification after four years before enlisting with the military.

While not incredibly remarkable in his leadership, his keen intuition, adaptability and knowledge of his vehicle led him to being given command of a platoon of the new M60A3s and in the coming year his platoon would be the highest scoring platoon for the 1981 Canadian Army Trophy competition. Distinguishing himself and after an extra two years under his belt he'd be promoted to First Lieutenant and be given command of a platoon of the new M1 Abrams tanks.

Platoon Commander
(The Platoon Commander will be part of his HQ, or a Vehicle Commander)

Name: Michael Grayson
Age: 33
Rank: First Lieutenant
Appearance: (Marks unseen from the picture provided / Body types etc) Image
Pic from his 'Nam years. Didn't change much, except slightly more unkempt appearance.
Ethnicity: Caucasian (Half Anglo American half German American)
Biography: Michael, or Mike, was, at first glance, a typical Army Lieutenant. Born in 1952, he was exposed to military right after he was placed on his mother arms, who is an Army Nurse. Coming from an ancient family of Scottish, British and Danish ancestry that have served ever since the Independence War, and all wars after that, it isn't a surprise that Mike always wanted to join the Army. He joined the JROTC when he entered high school (Top 10 of his class) , and later enlisted after graduating, with halfhearted approval from his father who would've liked him to enter West Point. He distinguished himself in combat as gunner, and later as tank commander, receiving two Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. Nevertheless he never bragged about it and about his years in Vietnam from 1969 to 1972, as part of 11th ACR. After pulled out from Vietnam as a SFC, he goes to West Point, much to the relief of his father. After graduating with very good score, he returns to Army Armor School for his Army Basic Officer Leader Course (ABOLC). After finishing his course he got sent to 5th Infantry Division in 1976, and remained in the division until now.

Mike marries Katherine Grayson (nee McKenna) in 1980, herself a Lieutenant in Signal Battalion. They have two child, a son and a daughter. All things went smooth, at least until things heated up in Europe. They sent the children to Mike parent's, while they prepare for their deployment. He promised to them that he'll return in one piece. And so he goes into the frontline in Germany, alongside the men he know for quite some time already, in M60A3 TTS that he knew are outmatched in brute strength compared to the Warsaw Pact tanks. Only tactical knowledge, experience, creativity and adaptability would save him and his platoon against the incoming onslaught.

Platoon Commander

Name:Shaun "Saar" Mann
Age: 27
Rank: First Lieutenant
Appearance: WIP
Ethnicity: Caucasian (German and French Parents)
Biography: Corin Mann is the son of immigrants who had emigrated to the United States in 1946 and met in 1957 in the city of Augusta, Maine. His mother was a French Red Cross Nurse looking to escape war-torn France to the now booming United States in order to become a Doctor. While his father was a Wehrmacht Veteran who had fought on the Eastern Front since Barbarossa but deserted some time after the Soviets launched Operation: Bagration, completely destroying German Army Group Center. Corin's Father made his way to the Western Front, surrendering himself to the United States Army and released in Occupied West Germany after Victory in Europe Day, emigrating to the US, working as a Motorbike Mechanic.

Like all sons or daughters of Immigrants, Corin Mann assimilated into American culture easily, while still having to maintain the cultural and language ties to his parents, both of completely differing nations. By the time he was born though, he didn't learn German or French, as by then his Parent's had adapted to only really using English most of the time, even in private life, although he did know a few words or sentences for utility. If not the language of his parent's, he especially learned of his Father's horrid experiences on the Eastern Front against the Soviet Red Army.

Corin Mann attended College and then went into the U.S Army after graduating, commissioned and became a Second Lieutenant and then promoted to the rank of First Lieutenant after some time of service. Now the acting commander of one of Alpha's three Mechanized Infantry Platoons in 2nd Battalion after being deployed to Germany. He wishes their M113's were something a little more well armored, up-gunned and impressive.

While Corin Mann's ability to execute drills, Infantry maneuvers and tactics are certainly impressive, his Leadership skills are average and his thoughts on Infantry Doctrine are rigidly constrained to the textbook, making him rather unadaptable in the field. But, being a 2nd Generation Immigrant, part German/French, he feels honor-bound to defend his parent's homeland against the threat of the Reds and repel them, so he is not lacking in morale or any kind of motivation.

Platoons may change in the ORBAT as the story goes, but thematically TY-FRT is centred on the main unit.

Arrrr okay so does that mean the other units in 2nd battalion are open?

M901 ITV Anti-tank Platoon
M163 VADS AA Platoon

These are the current open slots. There may be new units as time goes by but not many changes as the storyline isn't too long for this RP.
