To his family, friends, and allies Cao Cao is a person who loves writing verses, with a charismatic smile and a penchant for pulling pranks on his friends. Yet to his enemies, Cao Cao is utterly ruthless with a terrible temper who would do whatever it takes to achieve his goals. History
Bios: Cao Cao was born in Bozhou in the Anhui Province (the historic Qiao). His father Cao Song was a minor official who was raised by his uncle Cao Teng, one of the Emperor's favourite eunuchs. Cao Cao grew up with other children of imperial officials, such as the Yuan brothers, and he established from an early age his craftiness and reputation as a trickster.

At 15, Cao Cao entered the Baoding Military Academy and excelled in his lessons and graduated near the top of his class at the age of 19. That same year, Cao Cao married his long-time girlfriend Bian, a poor girl from Shandong. The marriage was considered unusual, as not only was Bian poor but she worked a sex worker before she met Cao Cao, but perhaps more important as the son of a government official with a promising career ahead of him many thought Cao Cao was jeopardising his life by marrying a girl like Bian. The couple didn't care and married despite the protests.


The following year, the Emperor appointed Cao Cao as military Captain of the Northern District, which contained the Imperial Capital. Cao Cao showed his belief in absolute justice and his ruthlessness by punishing everyone, regardless of his rank. Ostensibly as a promotion, Cao Cao's enemies had him briefly appointed the governor of Qingfeng County only a year later before he returned to the capital as a military consultant.

Around this time, Cao Cao founded the Imperial Revival Party with like-minded young nobles who saw the corruption of the Han dynasty first hand. The Party became popular in the countryside, as Cao Cao promised significant land reforms and a stronger centralised government to defend China. Cao Cao and his allies butted heads with the powerful eunuchs at court and those committed to the direction the Han Dynasty was sliding, and so Cao Cao became increasingly bitter and warned that if actions were not taken, the people would take matters into their own hands.

Cao Cao's words proved prophetic when four years later the self-proclaimed messiah Zhang Jiao proclaimed the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom with his bands of rebel militia. The Emperor appointed named Cao Cao one of the generals to defeat the Yellow Turbans, as the rebels became known, and now the 29-year-old commander would face his first test...
