BIOGRAPHY: Hilmar Rückert, formerly known as Maximilian von Engelsheim, was born around 374 AC as the firstborn son of the Duke of Engelsheim, one of the most powerful men of the Sonnschien Reich. Due to his status as part of the Imperial nobility, he received the privilege of training and joining the most exclusive group of the Reichsheer - The Kavalleriekorps (Air Force). Due to the relative inefficiency of the Kavalleriekorps' bureaucracy which caused the shortage of Aerial Knights, he was somehow received an earlier knighthood at the age of 16 ⁠— mostly attributed to the fact that Kaiser von Gottingen needed more men for his future ambitions. However, he somehow broke expectations after earning ace status during the invasion of Kammelsberg, despite most of the kills that he scored were against 12th generation aircraft. He also scored additional kills during Sonnschien's war against Semmering-Seiten while managing to be one of the lucky pilots that were not gunned down until the end of the war. During the Hesslerist period, he was part of the Luftwaffe for a brief period of time before he deserted the military and escaped to Kir.

He took up the name of Hilmar Rückert and began serving as a mercenary pilot in various Kir states. After saving enough money, he traveled to Velezia and lived a life of relative luxury for decades. Now broke due to constant parties and with a war blazing across the subcontinent, he has no choice but to get enough money by doing what he does best in order to drink the finest alcohol and fuck the most exotic Velezian women once in relative peace again.

BIOGRAPHY: A second generation Sino-Kaelic half-blood Kaelic citizen. Her mother used to be a pilot in the former Union Air Force, having fled to Kael and became an air mercenary there shortly after the fall of the Sacred Union State.

Since young age, Baker was exposed to the experience of flying through the backseat of her mother's two-seater former Union-made Feixian multirole fighter in casual non-combat flights. The influence of a mother wild enough to bring her daughter onto her flight since the age of 8 gave Baker an equally wild personality either through role model or brain damage, and more important to her later in her life, talent as a pilot through early exposure to the conditions in the sky.

Her young adult life, however, didn't begin as a pilot. Rather, the pilot life crashed into her like a downed plane into the ground below. To her parents astonishment, Baker grew into a binge drinker and, after a series of bar fights the drunktard girl started, her parents sent her to the military, hoping that she could get rid of her bad habits at least through what little disciplines the Kaelic military had. It didn't take days for her parents to realize it was one of their top mistakes in life, but Baker did get ride of her drinking habit, having discovered her new hobby, and knowing that she cannot fly while being drunk.

Under her seemingly carefree mannerism, she was not ignorant of the lives being lost behind aerial combat, and she was very well-aware of the consequences of getting shot down, however, while she could still fly, she was well-ready to accept all aspects of the sky, be it kind or cruel.

BIOGRAPHY: Son of a former Union soldier. After the UV Day and the coup of Ashiaking, with agreement between the newborn Liangan People's Republic and the western Sinican government, the People's Republic of Sinica was formed in a consented and welcomed merger of the two into a reinstated but reformed pan-Sinican federation. The new People's Republic has thus begun their push into the rest of western Sinica in reclamation of lost lands. In the Sinican march into the west, former Unionist warlords who obeyed were spared, while those who resisted were destroyed by the immense army of the pan-Sinican coalition.

In the struggle, Shen Xuewu, the son of former Sacred Union State Union Protector Shen Xuewen, utilized his influence in former Shenist clique to play a role in negotiating with some of his father's former army. Not everyone bought his words, but eventually, he managed to convince some of his father's surviving generals to put down their arms. When dealing with these surrendered Tangaliroan units, Shen kept up his promise to them. They were offered three options, either they could return to their country of origin, or they could depart for somewhere else for their own will, and should they wanted to stay, they would be taken in with mercy, to serve their purpose for the new People's Republic with their experience and expertise.

While many chose to depart, either out of fear of prosecution in their home country or a emotional connection to where they have served for many years, some chose to stay behind. And so they were granted Sinican citizenship after a background check, spending the rest of their life using their knowledge and experience learnt from the Transatlantic War and prior to help construct the People's Republic of Sinica. Pavlov's father was among these people.

Eventually, they settled down and carried on to a new phase in their life. Pavlov was a second generation Cubs of the Union (联盟崽子), a term used to describe the descendants of these people. Growing up among Sinicans, Pavlov identified himself much closer with the country on his identification papers than with his biological bloodline. Despite looking differently from his neighbours, he was a Sinican nationalist and patriot by heart, believing in the notion that Sinica was way more righteous than the other regimes that sprang out of former Tangaliro, which were known to have committed various acts of atrocities in their independence, while Sinica acted with mercy and justice to those on their lands. Eventually, like many others holding similar thoughts, he joined the Sinican Republican Army, hoping to serve for his country and defend its people against foreign threats.

Instead of serving with the normal soldiers, however, he was given a much more important role, one that only people like him could suffice...

BIOGRAPHY: Ali Sebek-nefru was born to Anwar Sebek-nefru, the patriarch of a well-off family in Kipisi. His father was a politically active figure within the Akhmanar Republic—and later the Tangaliroan-influenced and totalitarian FOURA. Forced to either live his life in exile in the more dangerous Velezia where he could safely practice Pharaism, or continue his life in Kipisi, he chose the latter, thankfully spared from most of the hardships of the FOURA by political connections and deals with the more moderate members of the FOURA cabinet. Thus, life for Anwar and his family continued as normal in the city of Kipisi, though, they continued their Pharaistic practices in secret, away from the pervasive eyes of the FOURA.

Ali had always shaped up to be a virtuous soul, a selfless personality emphasizing it. As soon as he had the opportunity to do so, when the FOURA transitioned into the Akhmanar empire in 405 A.C., Ali joined the Akhmanar Armed Forces's Ground Forces branch, passing training with flying colors. His time in the military was followed by swift promotion after promotion, giving him access to newer equipment and on-the-ground leadership skills that few of the prestigious officers from the Akhmanar Military Institute at Yevosh could ask for.

When the time came for the next wave of officers, the OCS extended an invitation to Ali to become a new Lieutenant, which he also took, looking to gain a specialization with the AAF Ground Forces's elite Raiders Regiment, a light infantry special operations force. When he graduated as an official Lieutenant and chose to become a force reconnaissance sniper for the Raiders, he was inducted into the grueling four month-long training period, spending an additional four months off the grid as part of his training, moving in the desert with the Taiidari, a nomadic people who have historically moved through Manae, Akhmanar, and Sanjar. The Taiidari volunteers employed by the Akhmanari military gave him unprecedented desert survival training techniques, while the time in the desert allowed him to reflect back on himself and his spirituality, and the world around him. During his time with them, Ali grew to respect them, and even sympathized with them after hearing stories of their banishment from Sanjar and difficulties faced in Manae. As a token of their thanks, the Taiidari presented him with a gift: a Khopesh sword which he still carries on his person to this day.

While in the desert, Ali was frequented by many strange people and visions far beyond his comprehension, including what he could only describe in his writing as "a garden of stars," where he met a strange little man that danced and said he could predict the future, along with a mythical winged wolf, an animal associated with Turok, the god of life, good fortune and good harvests. In spite of these visions, a future of death and war seems to be brewing on the horizon as the Akhmanar Empire prepares to stomp out the last remnants of what was once Tangaliro and the FOURA within its boundaries—and Ali quickly found out that he was about to be thrown right into the thick of it.
