1980.

Tensions between the United Soviet Socialist Republics and the United States are rising and falling constantly, sometimes, at the brink of nuclear war, sometimes signing trade agreements. The influence of both nations spread far and wide, and all are absorbed into the Cold War.

You will lead your country into through these times, and try to survive as the two global powerhouses clash.

KREMLIN, MOSCOW,

Gorbachev walked into his office, he sat down, had is usual shot of vodka, and looked at the large stack of papers on his desk. Most of them were Death Lost papers, he tossed them aside for later. A couple of hours later, General Vasily Ivanovich walked in, saluted and sat down.

" Comrade General Secretary, the GRU operatives in East Germany have noted large amounts of people still escaping through the Wall, what should we order them to do?"

"Tighten up borders, more guards, more frequent patrols, and no mercy." Gorbachev replied. "Also, forward a message to West Germany, have it say that they are to not accept defectors."

"They'll never accept Comrade General Secretary." Vasily replied

"Do it anyway!" Gorbachev snapped

'Right away Comrade!" Vasily said, standing up and walking to deliver the message.

To the Honorable leader of West Germany,

We humbly ask that you cease to accept the defectors from the East coming into your territory, and ask instead that you turn them over to our authorities. We hope to hear a response soon.

General Vasily Ivanovich.

"Hm... this will destroy my politcal status... huh... accept it... but secretly take in a few defectors, simple" -replies konrad

"but sir.. If they find ou-" -the minster cautions but is cut off

"I said... do it" -konard sternly repeats

Organization of African Unity summit
Algiers, Western African Union

"As such, the need for greater cooperation in our ever growing world. Where cooperation and the need to coexist come to the forefront, we must be steadfast for what is to come. My nation has seen that pain that not all have seen." Savimbi, walking across the floor in a move to let his words be heard more clearly to another portion of the summit, "Where I myself have fought against the dreaded Marxist MPLA, without the help of allied forces from South Africa and America I would have failed. Along with my men finding the letters that showed their betrayal beforehand, allowing me to hold the upper hand." The messages were falsified, but in the end no one was left as loose ends were tied, "So we must work together to achieve an independence no other has seen before!"

After the meeting Savimbi was within his room with his close advisers, "I do not know how well my talks have been taken, my speeches with the OAU. If anything, I'm hoping they be heard by the Western Union, along with those in Moscow. Our American allies are breathing down our necks, knowing that our friendship was out of convenience and not kindness. If we are to find ourselves safe we need to ensure we are free from outside influence, I do not know what will happen now. Especially since the MPLA is still out there fighting us, they are a group of weasels and possums. Hiding in places we cannot reach and playing dead when we stare at them in the eyes, only to scratch ours out without warning."

Luanda, Luanda Arms Manufacture

"Let us introduce, the KA-80, our glorious reproduction of the AK-47. Sure it has taken us some time, but we have finally perfected it." The showman was showing the generals of the Angolan Army, "This weapon is truly the best you will ever see, just as good as the AK in every way shape and form. Even better using custom paint, all of our weapons now blend in with the countryside. Allowing our soldiers to no longer stick out like sore thumbs."

The military men nodded, knowing that this will be necessary to ensure the survival of their nation they work hard to build. They now only hope that their efforts will not be in vain, as they send this weapon back with their makers to begin full production. The Soviets will most definitely be pissed along with Americans when they learn their weapon too, is being pressed into reproduction without permission. The attempt to make Angola independent from foreign suppliers and possibly begin their own exportation to the African continent, a wild world they were made to be in.

Accra Outskirts, Airport Construction Area
The car lurched and bumped across the pothole infested roads. The 33 year old Thomas Sankara sat in the car, as the skeleton of progress began to show over the horizon. Thomas remembered back in the day when he was a 17 year old boy, he was elected the leader of the Student Union against French Africa, that young boy filled with so much pride and so much valiance. "How was he able to do it back then?" He asked him self. "How could I handle all that pressure?" When he was 19 he met the Prime Minister of France, to sign the Marseilles Treaty, though they had all known he was a rather young boy, when he disclosed his age they thought he was joking at first. Not even 20 years of age, and at the head of a revolution. The first four years of development were some of the toughest, writing the constitution, reading it over, and throwing it in the trash only to start again the next day. Again and Again, until it was perfect in his eyes. Thomas had been elected for four terms in a row, he had yet to get married and his young adult years had been robbed by his peoples need for a leader. But he stuck to his intuition, it's what had got him so far...
"Well..." started the driver "Here she is". The guards opened the gate which enclosed the construction zone. "Mr. Councillor, welcome to Abuja airport."
"Wonderful.." said Sankara "..Lets see the inside." Minutes later he was walking down the vast sprawling corners where the future terminals of the airport would be, sparks flew off from the men welding the internal structures together. plaster covered the wall in some spots, and in others, large holes greeted you to the outside.
"How long till its finished?" asked Sankara.
"Delays have been minimal, we can expect to have this out entirely by summer of 1981."
"That's great to hear, I'm sure the Parliament will be proud of your progress. Shall we visit the Cafe then?"
"Of course Mr. Sankara."

Bamako, Mali
The cars whizzed by, Ali held close to the pole, fixing the broken component of the lines electrical box. Suddenly his hand slipped, the wrench fell from his hand to the ground. Right behind his friend Ibrahim.
"Ibrahim, get the wrench please... Ibrahim..." He turned around and saw him talking to a girl. "IBRAHIM! Allah Hallah, give me the fucking wrench man."
Ibrahim turned around "Pick it up your self you old goat."
Now very frustrated Ali turned his body towards Ibrahim. "I swear to Allah, if you don't give me my fucking wrench, I'm gonna come down there and kill you before you lose your Virginity!"
The girl turned toward Ibrahim "Your a Virgin?"
Ibrahim replied "Well, you see-" She turned and walked away. "ALI you mother fucker, what the hell man!?"
Ali turned back now getting the wrench from Ibrahim. "Serves you right, Sankara would not be proud."
"SANKARA?, Bitch I'm 18, my mom is gonna kill me if I don't get married soon."
"How you supposed to get married if you can't hold a job." replied Ali.
"Okay, fuck you man." Said Ibrahim in an annoyed tone.
Ali responded "Whatever, I'm almost done with this, our shift'll be over soon then we can go and pay a girl to marry your ugly ass."

East Berlin, Prussian Democratic Republic, 1980

Honecker sat in his office, and then the Prussian minister of State Security, Wolfgang Schwanitz, walked in. "Good Afternoon, Sir." The Minister would greet. "Cut to the chase Wolfgang." Honecker would cut in. "Very well, the inner border is becoming less secure as more people are using new methods to cross the Anti-Fascist wall, I propose that the wall go underneath the surface, going down eight meters and have Light machine guns posted of the guard towers, this will further prevent any crossings." The Minister would say. "A wonderful idea, I must say, though I do not control what construction goes on the border, you can speak with the Prussian ministry of Customs and Border Protection." Honecker replies. "Yes sir." The minister replies, walking out of the office. After the minister leaves, Honecker decides that Prussian morale is low and wants to hold a military parade to demonstrate the might of the Prussian Democratic Republic.

Alexy Gregory Kroschevich Strode into the Honecker's office's reception desk, nodded to Wolfgang Schwanitz, and turned to the secretary.

'I would like a meeting with President Honecker please." He would say politely.

"Alexy Gregory Kroschevich" He said "Member of the Soviet Embassy, primary representative." In reality, he was a KGB agent, but no one needed to know that.

The secretary searches through a few files. "Alexey you said? We don't have anyone registered with the embassy by that name."

"Good..." Honecker glanced at the clock on his wall "Afternoon." He'd take the envelope and open it. He'd read the letter and put it back in the envelope and left it on his desk. "Thank you for delivering this." Honecker then nodded to the guards who then escorted him out of the office.

10 DOWNING STREET, LONDON, THE UNITED KINGDOM

APRIL 30, 1980

The Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher, was sitting at her desk with a binder to the left of her and a glass of wine to the right. Her left leg seemed to be hanging gently over her right leg and hee hands seemed to be clasped. Her face was rather serious. In front of her desk was one man in a suit, who was called The Lord Howe of Aberavon, Sir Geoffery Howe.. He was a 54-year-old conservatist and Chancellor of The Exchequer. Sadly, The other man, dressed in a navy blue suit, was the 58-year-old Secretary of State for Defence, Francis Pym.

"Gentlemen. I understand that you wished to see me and it was a matter of utmost importance, how I understand it?"

"Yes, indeed Prime Minister." Said Pym, glancing at Howe before returning his gaze to Thatcher. "The Iranian Embassy has come under siege by some revolutionary Arabistanians, as we understand it. We do not know if they are supported by the Russians or possibly by the Chinese. We are not certain. As we understand it, they are fighters from the Democratoc Revolutionary Front for The Liberation of Arabistan, or so they have told us. They have asked for safe passage tnrough the United Kingdom, ma'am." Finished Pym, scratching his forehead.

"Absolutely not." Exclaimed Thatcher. "They siege an embassy and then ask for safe passage? Are they mentally unstable?" Asked Thatcher. She was not joking. She was dead serious. "How are the people inside? I presume they have not killed any hostages, am I correct?" Asked Thatcher. She felt ill. Her country, whom she had promised to keep safe, was in danger. Within the week something had to be done, otherwise there would be a rather large problem to deal with.

"That is correct, Prime Minister. No hostages have been killed, yet." Said Blackburn, looking at his watch. "As of now, it has been eight hours since the embassy became under siege. We have only just become aware and we immediately came to you. We dl not know how many of the DRFLA fighters stormed the building. According to eyewitnesses it was around six. Inside the embassy Police Constable Trevor Lock of the Metropolitan Police's Diplomatic Protection Group (DPG). He pressed the panic button on his radio but he has not made anymore contact. We suspect he has had his radio removed. We do not know for sure." Said Howe, reading a document.

"Do you know how many hostages they have inside the embassy?" Thatcher asked, turning her head to Pym.

"We suspect the number is around thirty." Said Pym, inclining his head. He then looked at his watch. "I must apologise Prime Minister, the Right Honourable gentlemen and I have to leave now." Said Pym.

"Very well. Provide me with more updates tomorrow, please." Said Thatcher.

"Yes, Prime Minister. I will." Said Pym, smiling. They exited the building.
