On May 22nd, 1917, the world was changed forever. The Central powers stood victorious over France as Paris at last, despite a grand last stand, fell to the oncoming German onslaught. Soon Britain would demand peace. In 1918, June 28, the Treaty of Berlin was signed by the defeated Entente cementing total domination of Europe by Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy.

But such peace was not to be achieved. Austria-Hungary soon collapsed, it's remains divided up by Italy, Germany, and the Hungarians. France and Britain were overtaken by dangerous radical new ideas and sought vengeance against the Germans to reclaim their Empires that they had long lost. In the east, a new Mongol Empire was declared by the mad baron, Sternberg, and an Empire on which the sun rose prepared itself to secure Asia as part of their rightful Empire. The United States of America, a nation that interfered naught in the great war, is now a major powerhouse that threatens the Empires of Europe with the ideals of Liberty and Freedom. The position of Europe as the home of gods, an Olympus, is now threatened by internal infighting and rising new powers. The light of Germany begins to wither as it's gained Eastern lands seek more and more autonomy and France and Britain gear up for the total destruction of Germany. The powers in Africa and the east await for the fall of Olympus. You shall decide if it happens or not.

On the first of August, 1936, a flame is lit in Berlin. The Olympics are here... but Olympus is about to fall.

Tokyo, August 1st, 1936

It had been a tough century so far for the Empire. Coming out of the rapid industrialization of the Meiji Period, Japan proved itself to the world in the Boxer Rebellion and the Russo-Japanese War - only to fail in the Weltkrieg. The deal had been named "Peace With Honour" but everybody still felt the stinging shame of their perceived defeat. Meanwhile, Asia fell apart around them, burdened by Western influence and upheaval caused by Germany's victory. Japan felt well and truly alone - and they were largely right. While still allied to Britain, Japan was surrounded by enemies. Russia to the North, Mongolia to the West, China and Germany to the South. Drastic action would need to be taken.

When Hirohito ascended to the throne, he was viewed as a reformer - and he was. He recognized the threats Japan faced, and the need for national camaraderie and unity above all else. His first act was to nationalize the Zaibetsus, essentially placing the economy under the control of the government, and to implement massive Worker's Rights reforms. Then, he continued his father's path of progressivism, and created guarantees of equality for women and ethnic minorities. This included modernizing the Succession Laws, allowing his eldest child, Princess Shigeko to be his successor. While these changes were controversial at the time, things have since settled down and Japan has reaped the benefits of the larger workforce it possesses. The Emperor, while a visionary, was no pacifist. Under his guidance, Japan's military was massively expanded and modernized. While Japan's navy is not as large as the British, German or American fleets, it is the largest in Asia and the most technologically advanced in the world. Meanwhile, Japan's infantry was of excellent quality, with good equipment and an unprecedented zeal, determination and fervor. Hirohito continues to modernize and update the military, for Japan must be the stabilizing power in the Asian continent and he knows this.

Meanwhile, the Empire continues to play with clever diplomacy in the Imperial Associate States. Transamur has become a refuge for the losers of the Russian Civil War. Bolsheviks from all over Russia, and even some other parts of Europe, have fled to the Far East Republic - and have largely been welcomed with open arms. While Japan considered the Bolsheviks a threat at first, it quickly realized the benefits of having them as allies. While Communist cells are still active in Siberia and Trans-Siberia, much of the Bolshevik Leadership has been welcomed into Transamur with offers of asylum and protection. While their comrades continue to fight the Russian government, much of the surviving Bolshevik Leadership, lead by Alexandra Kollontai, plan how to retake their country with the help of the Japanese. While the alliance is uneasy, Japan has essentially given up some control over Transamur in exchange for much more public support in Russia itself. This exchange is worth it, if the Japanese Imperial Command are to be believed. Meanwhile, the economies of Japan and Siam became more integrated every day, and Japan saw a potential pacific partner against the Germans or, alternately, another puppet state.

General Tirauchi,

I am leaving to attend the Olympics in Berlin. I would like you to create battle plans for a war with Mongolia. Right now, they are weak, and do not have much in the way of infrastructure to sustain a defensive battle. I would like to conquer them before we look at any of our more powerful neighbors. Have it done by the time I get back.

We are developing a grand strategy. I invite you to the Imperial Palace once I return from the Olympics to discuss it. You may bring translators, guards and military advisors if you wish. Japanese and Fengtian Leaders will also be present. I look forward to meeting you again.

August 1st 1936

WWI and the years after had not been kind to Argentina. The british pushed Argentina to overwork much of her population to produce foodstuff and guns that would immediately be wasted in the field of Northern France. The people, unsurprisingly rose up numerous times. With one in particular still causing significant damage to the country. The Patagonia revolt spawned out of the want to be free from corporate exploitation. Which was later funded by the Chilean syndicalism government, turning Patagonia into a client state of Santiago. And Sending Argentina into crisis. It all started to change in 1935 though, when military general Juan Perón took power.

The countryside was quickly stabilized, and a worker’s rights division in the department of industry was created. Already several reforms have been forced through, which will help Argentina recover from her deep recession. Although there is still the issue of Patagonia, Buenos Aires is happy to announce that everything is back to somewhat normalcy.

Perón is currently visiting the 1936 olympics, along with several other prominent military leaders, mostly to watch the games, but also to try and gain European investors for the burgeoning Argentinian industry. Mainly from the Germans, or Italians. While the war cabinet is busy doing... other things.

I write to you so you can understand the crisis we are in, I understand that you are trying to balance power between the Army and the Navy, but it is not working as well as you think. The heads of both branches are at each other’s throats about every little thing. And I’m worried that if any one gets to powerful compared to the other, they will attempt to oust you. You need to balance the needs of both actively, putting representatives from both sides in positions of power is not enough. More detailed plans must be drawn out if you want to stay in power.

The Chancellor stepped up, ready to make his speech, as the Kaiser was in clear view, watching. The TV cameras and radio microphones all pointed to him, ready to make a speech which will echo throughout history.

The day was bright, even with all the clouds and the wind. The German government had invested millions into the event to turn it into the greatest celebration of German glory since 1870. Tens of thousands had turned up and millions watched.

The Chancellor took a breath.

"Germany is a great nation. From the rich port of Hamburg to the culture of Munich and the history of Königsberg, we have built a truly wonderful nation on Earth, one where the trees bloom and the sun shines. We live in an era of prosperity, even after the trials and tribulations of our nation: from 1922 to Black Tuesday. Poverty is almost non-existent, and so is unemployment. We, the German people, send out one message to all nations, to all races and to all peoples: we wish to share our utopia on Earth. The wealth and power of Germany is one that reaches the world over, as we have immense power and glory! We have won the Great War and built great monuments and statues to remember it all. Fate has taken us to great tragedy and to great heights. But now, we must forge a new age.

A new age of peace, a new age of prosperity and of limitless growth. Capitalism and centrism have not failed the common man, nor will they ever. We, the people of Earth, are willing to fight for a new age of peace, as our brothers, fathers and children have. I have only one declaration:

In the name of world peace, and that of justice, let us all unite! All nations, all peoples and all creeds!"

The speech was a lot more bland than expected, but the Chancellor was never one for great speeches. However, the ending got the crowd to rise and clap, as the message of peace was more important than ever.

The German flag unfurled in front of a golden eagle with jewels on its crest. As the Olympic Torch was carried, the German national anthem played. After the German national anthem and the Olympic Torch, Verdi's Hymn of the Nations played in full. Soldiers from all nations marched side by side to proclaim peace, as to commemorate the recent 24th Anniversary of the Weltkrieg. As the Hymn of the Nations played, the flag of every single nation unfurled from a large platform, as, near the end, they all folded as a large flag, with a blue background and a map of the Earth on it in green and a white dove in the centre was unfurled.

The Olympic Games had begun.

The Irish Monarch and leader of the House of Lords have arrived a few minutes late to the Olympics. it has been a rough couple years for Ireland.
not only was it was it freed from English Rule, it had endured Revolts like none before. While it was a member of the Dominions of the English Empire, it was under German Influence plus with the Easter Rebellion and Home Rule Ideals running wild, Monarchism and Irish Nationalism became quite popular. the latter forced the full Freedom of us, Irish from the British. currently in the government there is little to no ill will towards our former overlords but that's besides the point. When this happened we fell further into the German Sphere, however American ties were still strong, so when the Irish Commissioner, who acted as a buffer between the PM and the Parliament was transformed into a Monarchy, few we surprised. but the revolt of 1927, that changed Ireland. World War 1 still has its scars on Ireland but pride from the Easter Rebellion was still strong, But the wound continued to deepen as the stiches on the scars were ripped open and the wounds deepened by the Great Depression. our pride and worries have now taken the effects of the depression, the mass unemployment, and spun it into more extreme poltics, even though we seen what's gone on in Britain. but I can't say that I haven't changed too. my politics have gotten far more populistic in the years past, and while I'm a lord so its far more unseen than someone in the House of the Irish.

After the Chancellor's Speech
"Wow, that was a Shit speech, i could do so much better" says King Edmund
"well maybe that's why you're the monarch, you speeches are too unite people, our people, our nation. we still bear many scars and wounds and this dammed depression is only pouring salt onto them." Says Lord Kennedy with subtle Populist fervor
"it will all be solved, what we need is a program for the unemployed to help out the government for a salary, and as to prevent inflation, we need a floor, a gold standard if you will, for we will save Ireland" spoke the king softly with his own poltics slipping through. a belief that he is a messiah, who will save Ireland in nationalistic glory, "That would mean the least an pound could be worth would be 862.40 for an ounce of gold. that should help us a whole lot" say Lord Kennedy

The Chancellor turned at the King, his eyes staring deeply and darkly at his.

“You can make great speeches, perhaps, but you can’t back them up with any sort of action. Populists and strongmen like you and Lord Kennedy over there may offer the world, but only technocrats and men of action such as me can give it to them.

Your nation shall fall into ruin, your life in tatters and your head upon a spike on Trim Castle as the true rulers, the directors of action, such as me, shall rule the world and all within it. The question is not, if, but when you shall fall. How long can you keep façade of lies and broken promises?”

The Chancellor smirked as he said every word of his remark, delivering a scathing remark at the man who dared insult his speech. He may not be the Kaiser, but he knew he was above some pauper-king of a minor island that even their neighbours didn’t care enough about to stop them.

"Well, my good sir, it was just honest opinion, you can take that can't you, now all we said was that were going to keep our currency from killing itself down into a death spiral and giving people jobs. something that my people need at this time. I was chosen by the people to be the commissioner and now I'm a king, which is still better then you. and my country is staying strong, we have suffered enough, after the revolt of 1927, we have been through hell and back. want some more damned criticism, you can't keep your allies from turning into enemies and keep Socialism off of your dammed borders." yells King Edmund in the Chancellor's face. as the king moves towards the Chancellor, Lord Kennedy stops him and places his fedora on a passer-by. "You want to fucking go you sonabitch" before the King attempts to calm him.

"you're right," says Kennedy as he smooths over his dress shirt, "Mr. Chancellor, I apologies for both of our comments, anger can get the best of us and all we meant by this is that you should get more practice as you have all the time in the world to do so, so how about we all calm down and focus on the games"

"You are indeed right, Lord Kennedy. But I must tell your king one last thing: I saved the German economy and continued Stresemann's plan of economic recovery. You think yourself too great. Also, Kennedy, that man just stole your fedora." The Chancellor replied, agreeing with Lord Kennedy.

PM Oswald Mosley was drinking tea and looking out at the area around 10 Downing Street. It has been five years since he took power in the general elections and started realizing his ideological objectives, such as stabilizing the economy and expanding the military. He was expecting a visit from one of his goons. Suddenly, someone knocked on the door, so Oswald went down and opened the door. Knocking on the door was his Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Thomas Hoodley.

"Mr. Hoodley", Oswald said. "It's good that you came for a special mission."
"Yes, my lord", Thomas said. Both men walked to Oswald's office and began discussing.
"Do we have any diplomatic opportunities right now, Mr. Hoodley?" Oswald asked Thomas.
"I think so", Thomas answered. "We have come to terms with discussing old alliances. We have talked about aligning with France."
"France?" Oswald asked while confused at the same time. "Why such alliance?"
"You see, my lord", Thomas explained. "Both our countries lost the Great War and harbor grudge towards Germany. Aligning us with the French would be great to seek revenge on the Germans."
"I see", Oswald understood. "But I wonder if it is possible for such an alliance, because the French are ruled by leftists."
"You might be right about France being leftist right now", Thomas said. "But the French are as equally syndicalist as us. Despite them being left-wing and us being right-wing, we are both syndicalists. You see, two syndicalist countries standing against such a capitalist empire might be key to achieving our revenge and reviving our own empires."
"Okay", Oswald understood. "You better write a letter to the French so that this alliance can emerge."
"Yes, my lord", Thomas responded as he hurried out of 10 Downing Street to write a letter to France.
