Name: Charles Fedrick the young

Biography:

Born in Stockholm in 1289 to an influential trading family named the house of Slaicki with one of its members being the king of the Danes in what is now known as Copenhagen. His branch of the family, the Swedish branch, moved to Constantinople in 1300 where trade with the far east was now booming. Soon, the Swedish branch of the house of Slaicki was one of the richest families in Asia minor only contested by families from Venice and the Royal house of East Rome themselves. Charles, at the young age of 18, would be one of the families most successful traders. He had a silver tongue that had the ability to convince traders to sell goods to his family at such low prices that it was practically theft and sell those goods at high prices to Italy's most wealthy families with ease.

Then, at the age of 20, he bought of shipment of strange black powder at a high price. After much research in the massive royal libaries, he discovered that this powder came from China and the power it had. One spark was all it took and fire would come straight from hell itself. A plan emerged within Charles mind on what do with this powder.

A family from Venice had recently moved to Constantinople and was growing ever richer. Traders from the east were selling and buying more often from them than the house of Slaicki. On a cold evening night the streets of Constantinople, a party was ever raging. The competing house had called for all members to come to a massive mansion owned by a trader from North Africa to celebrate a massive trade deal. A cart, filled with barrels was parked just outside the main ballroom where everyone had gathered to hear a speech from the North African. Problem was that he never showed up. Charles had paid the man to strengthen ties with the competing family so that they may gather in his ballroom. Charles lit the string that was attached to the barrels on the cart and began to sprint as fast as he could from the ballroom and a minute later the family ceased to exist as a problem to the house of Slaicki.

Instead of receiving the praise from his house Charles only found shock. It was not the murder of the competing family that shocked the elders but rather how cunning and ruthless it was. This young boy would almost certainly try to take power in the house and had to be dealt with.

Trade was now booming with the far east and the family needed someone to go to far away lands where they would be able to monopolize the source of wealth. Charles had the power of persuasion and was a rapidly growing power in the family. By sending him away the elders killed two birds with one stone.

He left for China with a massive trade caravan but also a large private army that was skilled with all weapons. As he arrived he discovered China collapsing and what better time to take the power that he deserved...

Biography: Philippe Beauchamp was born in the village of Bocars-Tille in the hinterlands of the western continent to Guerinet and Reina Beauchamp. The Beauchamps were devout triumvirates ever faithful to their religion. At a young age, Philippe excelled in his academics, eventually taking up theology in the Pastoral College. The campus he was in was located near a volcano which soon erupted after several years. This incident left a mark in Philippe's faith- making it even more stronger than ever. After graduating, he was ordained as a Priest of the Triumvirate and served in many parishes of the Church.

His first year as priest he devoted his time to help the poor. He began to engage in charity work and delivered food and water to far-flung places. He eventually rose up rank becoming a Priest of Seniority then became a Bishop until he was offered the position of Monsignor by the Arch-Priest; the representative of the Triumvirate on Earth. Philippe Beauchamp first headed the Charity works ministry of the Church then was transferred to the Missionary ministry eventually becoming its Missionary-General.

After successful conversions in the south, Beauchamp heard of a land in the far east, a land of many people ripe for salvation. He was granted permission by the Arch-Priest to lead some 25 faithful to establish a mission to spread the good news of the Triumvirate God.

Starting Items: 10 crossbows, a copy of the Holy Writ and some apples.

The Triumvirate is one of the largest religions in the western continent. It's chief deity is the Almighty and is coexisted by two minor deities named "The Holy Soul" and the "Holy Light". It's scripture is called the holy writ- a 1000 page book containing the stories of the prophets, the people of the Triumvirate and the prophecies to come. The organization claiming to represent the Triumvirate is the Ecclesiarchy or the Church of the Triumvirate.

Name: Bu the Cursed

Gender: Female

Biography: Bu, formerly named Bu Han Zhang, was born to a simple farming family but she was born cursed. You see, Lu was born left-handed, something that symbolized a cursed child and an affront to their ancestors. Despite her beautiful appearance and grace, she was hidden away from the village and trained harshly in learning how to do things properly. Eventually the village learned her truth and she was cast out when she became old enough to be an adult.

It didn't take her long to get captured by a gang and enslaved. Though she was enslaved, she learned how to manipulate people and have them teach her how to fight. She picked up a looted jian and started to train of an informal reverse swordplay using the very left hand that doomed her from birth. Eventually she earned her right to freedom when she saved the gang leader from a Imperial soldier.

From here on she rose among the ranks of the gang. Using her status as a cursed person to get into the thick of combat and inspire fear in those she commanded. Eventually she became the right-hand man of the leader until he died of the plague and the gang split because they didn't want to be lead by a woman, one who was cursed from birth.

Now she leads what's left of her gang through a wartorn empire taking whatever she wants and whoever she wants. Who knows, she may just start taking over lands and become the next empress.

That would be something to see.

I'm curious just what about the map are you confused about? The reason I have it like that is for ease of keeping track of character.

No they were a thing. They were just very heavy and accurate up to 30 meters.

Yes and I'm thinking of a simple combat system. for those with factions, you'll be able to choose a specialization system that will apply penalties and bonuses for combat scenarios.

I'm thinking something along the lines of melee/ranged.
