Eternal Lotharia is currently designated as Co-OP, as this thread was created at his bequest. General overview: The NSGers (you know who you are) are to work as Senators in the 117th Congress (Starting in 2020) and discuss, write, and vote on policy. (Well, and take bribes. We’re politicians, not angels.) To avoid as much chaos as possible, we set Biden as President, and he’s running the Government as a pure centrist. Feel free to debate this in General, not here. Please. That said: Pick a District and represent your constituents. We’re not RP’ing as currently existing Congresscritters, we are the new Congress. You’re not being AOC or Crenshaw.
However, note a few things for simplification:
1. Unless this becomes insanely popular and we run out of space, you’re not getting voted out of your seat, although RP’ing as if you know that is inadvisable.
2. Age doesn’t matter. If you’re underage, just assume you got hit by magic or something.
3. We are not suspending the Constitution.

Initially an accountant for Ernst & Young, he got involved in politics after the passing of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, shocked by the unethical practices done by businesses and accountants. He was elected to the State Legislature and served for 5 years before tossing his hat into the ring for the Senate. Considered a long shot, he pulled an upset and currently resides as NJ's junior Senator. He has somewhat high name recognition, due to the fact he challenges party leadership on issues like healthcare, green energy, regulating accounting practices, and women's rights.

It is rumored he's planning a run for either the Governor seat in NJ or seeking the Libertarian Party nomination; nobody but him knows.

Personality/General Ideology: Libertarian socialism. Not the boring Sanders type, the Tito/Nicaragua/Guatemala/Honduras type. He is tough to deal with and very stalwart in his views. He has a reputation for believing that the end justifies the means, and is, despite his ideology, ruthless and uncaring towards his opponents. He will not give mercy. Some say this is due to PTSD from his service, but nobody really knows.
Background: His father was constantly attacked by the locals for marrying a black woman. This experience opened him up to anti-racism, which slowly turned him to left-wing ideals. However, he was mostly a liberal at this point, and he remained so, even after studying socialism. He was a firm patriot and so, both because of that and the free education, he joined the military and fought in Iraq. He saw the awful conditions of the locals and the brutal imperialism of the United States in foreign countries that he swore to leave the military as soon as possible. The experience was so traumatic for him that he disavowed his faith in God and in the American Government, although only privately for now. After returning home, he opened up about his beliefs to other veterans, and convinced many of them to join his cause. Emboldened, he decided to run for the Senate in Michigan as an Independent candidate who would "Make the Government Pay". He failed the first time, getting only 19% of the vote. He began to attract some important people though, including his current campaign manager. He began to target the youth, turning them to socialism. His ideology gave mass appeal to those who had been left behind by the establishment and had been chucked off to die by the capitalists in government. He was then elected to the Michigan Senate next election, earning over 63% of the vote.
