I mean, Texas is sort of democratic in this timeline, with the armed forces being represented by their respective political parties and the batshit insane president who survives on his cocaine addiction alone. I'm sure invading the Atlantic Federation was a brilliant idea.

Texas is only technically a democracy, definitely the least so of the current nations in North America by a huge margin. The thing that's scary is it can become a major threat, it has a serious powerbase if honed.

Quick post up. None of the events currently happening in the IC affects the Commonwealth that much, so no real action is being taken. Just the initial observation that there is something to be concerned about.

Nordic parliamentarism really hasn't changed very much. Everything else in the Nordic Commonwealth, from its economy and society to its demographics and technology, has changed unrecognisably in the last half-century, but go into government and the only thing that lets you know it really is 2054 and not 1954 are the coloured faces of ethnic minorities and these weird smartphone thingies everyone seems to have nowadays.
