The Formation of the Party of the United Left

After tensions in coalition negotiations, the WLIR and the Southpaws have merged into a party association: The Party of the United Left. Whilst the Southpaws rushed in, the WLIR held a vote, and the results were 75/25 for. The Party of the United Left has therefore been officially formed, with a diarchy of Frederij De Klair and Tyler Capco, until proper elections are held within the association. The Party of the United Left declares its stance to be "A democratic and libertarian socialist government.", with the motto provisionally being "Liberté, égalité, fraternité". The Party of the United Left now carries both WLIR and Southpaw seats in the Council.

(OOC: Edited to an EU-style party association because OP doesn't allow merging parties)
(OOC: Edit 2 because we never actually left)

Opposition Leader Guðni Jóhannesson Official Statement
It has alarmed me that the Southpaw party would form a Party Association, now called the Party of the United Left, with the far left WLIR. The Southpaws always ran on a platform of partial private industry, while they have merged into association with party that openly calls for the destruction of private industry. This has been a betrayal, more than anything, to the voters that voted for the Southpaw party on their platform, which they quickly changed after their formation of coalition. Aligning themselves with the far left, and to be frank, violent left, is nothing but a full on betrayal of their voter base. Therefore, I am looking, with my fellow party members, to push impeachment against seats held by the Southpaw party on the basis of voter dishonesty. I shall be addressing parliament regarding this when we make our party’s decision final.

WLIR Official Statement
The Republicans have recently made a statement which I find to not merely be disgusting, but appalling. They declare their support for the impeachment of the Southpaws under "voter dishonesty". It is nothing more than naked political interest and corruption. So therefore, I shall be forwarding an impeachment of the Opposition Leader and all those who voted for the impeachment in the Council under the charge of corruption. It is truly disgusting for any man, let alone the Opposition Leader, to use the law to his political will. It is truly despicable. He charges the Southpaws on some abstract charge, whilst he commits corruption of the law. Truly disgraceful.

Official Southpaw Statement

Today it was just announced that the Party of The United Left has been fully dissolved to end impeachment and so that the Southpaws can take part in the new government. The Party Of Th United Left was a fire that burned bright but burned out quickly. We are sorry for any troubles this may have caused and we hope that you can forgive us and support us once more.

First Steps of the Government

The election has just finished and the government has now started to form. Currently, these are the parties in the government, opposition and crossbench.

Government (286):
The Deltaist Party: 113 Seats
The Southpaws: 99 Seats
The Greens: 74 Seats

Opposition (156):
Republican Party: 127 Seats
Christian Unity Caucus: 29 Seats

Crossbench (58):
Workers' League of Industrial Revolution: 55 Seats
SovInd: 2 Seats
Neo-Fascist Party : 1 Seats

The basic positions are already clear.

President: James Leonardo Kommenous (Deltaist)
Leader of the Opposition: Guðni Thorlacius Jóhannesson (Republican)
Vice President: TBA
Treasurer: TBA
Minister of Security: TBA
Minister of Environment: TBA
Minister of Cultural Affairs: TBA
Minister of Education: TBA
Minister of Industry: TBA
Minister of Healthcare: TBA

The upcoming positions are for the Prime Minister to decide. The Prime Minister can decide which party the Minister will come from, so they could put all of the ministers from parties in their coalition, or maybe even give a position to parties outside of the coalition as well. The Vice President can be the leader of any other party in Parliament which the Prime Minister decides. Every position (excluding the Vice President) will be voted on by the Parliament.

Marcel Leroy read the results of the election. One seat. Maybe not as much as he had hoped for, but far more than he had expected. This new democracy was hostile to a return to the old ways, and all the parties were united in their opposition to Neo-Fascism.

Still, one seat was satisfactory. It meant that there was little capability of the party to effect the world, but at least they had some representation. The campaign of the Neo-Fascist had been laughable. There were only three speeches, which provided little in the means of actual stances of the party.

Regardless, it had gotten him one seat. And that was a start.

He smiled. The game was only beginning.

OOC: My apologies, I haven't been very active. I'm going to try to participate more in the future.

The WLIR has called a conference, inviting trade union leaders all throughout the world. De Klair will be expected to give a keynote speech, along with a controversial vote on ‘whether to support the current existence of one world government.’, and if yes, what sort of model should be pushed through.

Party leaders and other members must come to a consensus on whether their party as a whole approve or reject each appointed minister. If a minister is rejected, another nomination has to be made.

For this instance, all seats of a party will vote unanimously on the party's decision. However, for future parliamentary votes that may not be the case and some party members (which are not player-controlled) may vote differently if there would realistically be conflict in the party.

Please state whether your party approves or rejects of each minister.

Official Statement of the Republican Party
It has come to our attention that the Party of the United Left association has ceased to exist. We are relieved the Southpaw party has come to senses, and has kept the extremist WLIR out of the government. As such, all consideration of impeachment has ceased, as the security of our democratic system has once again been restored and kept out of extremist hands.

The Labour Day Marches

6.7 million marched all across the world, led by Frederij De Klair (the crowd was larger as people were less afraid of violence). However, the tone was a lot less confrontational than the World Protests a week earlier, as it was more of a celebration. People cheered the protesters, as little opposition (bar the Neo-Fascists) was found. Red flags were waved along with anti-capitalist banners. People chanted and sang, declaring their love for socialism. The marches were slightly larger than usual, as De Klair had rallied people together. The Conference is set to happen between the 3rd to 6th of May (inclusive), in order to give way to Labour Day marches. The WLIR had brought people together, but this time to celebrate. The Southpaws, Deltaists and Greens have been invited to join the marches, even if they don't support the anti-capitalist rhetoric there.

The Fascists and the Veteran

19:00, 2nd of May, 2019 - Unknown Location.

A group of five or so men got ready, practicing their gun shots at pictures of De Klair and President Kommenous, wielding all manner of weapons. They were getting ready for the day of judgement. They were indeed going to come to the WLIR conference, but not in a calm manner, no, rather in a manner by which the Council entered Ethiopia. Through force. The men wore brown coat, suits and hats, with Sturmabteilung symbols plastered over them, to represent the SA, or Storm Detachment, a paramilitary run by the Nazi Party which wanted to overthrow the Council and found a new Aryan order.

00:00, 3rd of May 2019 - Somewhere around Kinshasa

The men had camped out in their vehicles, some distance from Kinshasa where the Conference will be held. They had brought out their cigarettes and their beer, just waiting for the opportune time.

"Alright. I'm going to check for all of you to see if you haven't effed off somewhere to get more beer, because we still need to drive. First, Andrej?" The voice came from the radio, with a Manchester/York accent of some sort.

"I am right here, yes? John, you don't need to be so paranoid. I take as much alcohol as I'll never need." Andrej, or what is presumed to be him, was heard from the radio, with a weird mix of Polish, Ukrainian and Belarusian in his accent.

"Alright, alright, you don't need to whip out your anger, Andrej. Next is Ernest, who I probably should've called first because he's the most likely to have gotten alcohol." What is thought to be John announces and looks for a man named Ernest.

"Vat? Can't you see zat I am here, John? You can zee me from my window." Ernest replies, confused at John.

"Yes, I can, but I just want to tease you. Now, we've got Pierre." John continued, in all his snark.

"I am here. That is all." Pierre replies, and a match is heard.

"Mmm. Ok...Alright, last one is...Levente. The Hungarian guy. The assassin and gunman." John goes, reading out from his list.

"I am here, and ready." Levente replied, in an extremely deep voice.

"Excellent. Let us prepare for morning." John finishes, and they continue preparing.

8:00, 3rd of May 2019, Kinshasa, WLIR Conference

"...and so that is why we must fund and push for welfare, even in a capitalist society, rather than go full force with accelerationism-"

Levente stood up, aiming his shotgun at De Klair, clad in his brown uniform.

"Better dead than red!"

Several shots later, De Klair laid dead on the floor, because, after all, even the people who are high in society and have fought hard are still merely mortal. Nobody is immune.

Meanwhile, a truck rams through the door, containing Andrej, John, Ernest and Pierre. As Andrej rams the truck through several hundred people, Ernest pulls out a flamethrower and John a machine gun and open fire on the crowd. Pierre throws small packets of tear gas, as people run across the room madly in panic.

Levente throws some dynamite, blowing large sections of the hall up. All 5 of them then go back into the truck, ramming through several more people to escape. However, just before they escape, a man with an improvised spear-like caltrop pops one of their tyres. The man is dressed in red, wielding nothing more than his improvised spear.

"Levente. Pierre. John. Ernest. Andrej." The man calls out their names, as he gestures them to leave the truck.

"Is it really you, my old friend? You're a red?" John stepped out of the truck, shocked as ever.

"I guess you had not woken up to that war. But I must do my business, John. Now, we'll let you out of here if you let us punish you all."

"Fine, as long as we don't die. But what is your name again?" John replied, as he had no other option, as the vehicle was down. Of course, he could fire the weapons, but he still had morals and wouldn't fire at his old friend.

"I was your officer, Jean Lamond. I was a close friend of Frederij, as I met him upon returning from the war. Now, let's get our clubs and beat revenge into these men. There are many fates worse than death, and one of them is the justice of the people. I do not trust Kommenous' police, so I shall handle justice myself. As we all hopefully learned from the French Revolution, the people aren't all that friendly to those that oppose them...Now get in the truck, and let's see you leave."

John was kicked back into the truck by Jean, as the rest sat and watched in confusion. The crowd were given barrels of oil and gasoline, along with other flammable objects, to light their vehicle alight. Jean replaced the tyre, as a general courtesy, and then lit the truck on fire, making sure they had time to escape and it wouldn't just blow up in everyone's faces. Jean then kicked the truck, as they were sent off on their way in a burning truck.

"JOHN! JOHN! FASTER! FASTER!" Ernest yelled, as they were clearly going to try to go into the Congo River. Before they knew it, they were submerged in one of the longest and deepest rivers in the world. Perhaps Jean had given them some sort of forgiveness, as they were comrades in the army, after all, or perhaps he had left them to die with the fish. Ernest and Andrej worked together to seal any cracks in the windows, as John remarked:

"Well then, this could've ended a lot worse. Let's just try to drive from the bottom of the river upstream. We'll be in Lake Mwaura in a few days, and then we can just emerge from there. If we run out of gas, we just wait for the fish to leave."

The rest nodded, and so there ends the tale of that group of terrorists. They most likely survived, as, apart from the current and the sabre-toothed fish, you're mostly fine. Although they're still missing. However, a video was uploaded to many places across the internet regarding their plans, scheduled for release after Frederij was shot. The speech from the video is as follows:

"Ahem. We are the Lightning Resistance and we have come to destroy this nation. Our goals are unequivocal: the full destruction of United Earth and the formation of an international Aryan Order centred in Europe. We have every intention of fighting to our deaths, just like we did before in the army. We are veterans of the 13th Heavy Corps, here to free this entire world.

Why? For we must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children.

Long live Marcel Leroy and the Neo-Fascist Party!
Death to President Kommenous and all reds!"

Leroy was simply stunned. He didn't fully approve of these terrorist's ideas, and he definitely didn't approve of their methods. But, worst of all, they had changed his name out as though he were some sort of leader to this group. And the comments about the destruction of the United Earth as a whole? Or the incredibly racistcomments at the end? These terrorists had twisted the entire basis of the Neo-Fsscist Party on its head to serve their owown interests.

Leroy leaned back in his chair, placing his feet atop the Juniper-wood desk in front of him. He stared up at the ceiling, considering a response to the violent actions of this 'Lightning Resistance.' He came up blank. He could barely save face when the Resistance had publicly stated there support for him.

Then it came to him. Fight fire with fire.

He began to draft a bill for legislation.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Neo-Fascist Party Representative Marcel Leroy has submitted the following document for debate and possible passage by the government of the United Earth:

Ban of and Action Against the Lightning Resistance

Understanding that the so-called 'Lightning Resistance' is an insurrectionary force directly hostile to the government of the planet, whose methods and ideas are despicable by all measures of human morality, the United Earth, upon passage of this bill,

A. Defines a Suspected Lightning Resistance Member (SLRM) as any member of the 13th Heavy Corps, or any individual with a known biological or personal connection to any member thereof.

B. Defines a Lightning Resistance Member (LRM) as any individual, who, through proper means of questioning and deduction, has been determined to be, beyond doubt, a member of the Lightning Resistance.

C. Defines a Lightning Resistance Sympathizer (LRS) as any individual who has, despite failing to be a member of the Lightning Resistance, aided in any action of any LRM or aided in the escape of said LRM from any criminal action.

D. Strictly bans the existence of or membership in the Lightning Resistance in all regions and territories of the United Earth.

E. Holds membership in the Lightning Resistance to be a criminally punishable offense, for which the penalty shall unconditionally be death.

F. Holds all LRSes to be criminals, punished with a full life's term in prison, pardonable only by the President of the United Earth.

G. Will capture all SLRMs as quickly and efficiently as possible, using all means at their disposal and any means deemed necessary by the Government.

H. Will hold all captured SLRMs as prisoners, and subject them to through questioning to determine their nature.

I. Allows every regional government to place into action their own laws, understanding that those laws should not and will not interfere with or be in disagreement with United Earth law.
Long live Liberalia!

Lamond stood up, in anger: "Is that all, Mr. Leroy? Is that all that you're willing to do? How pathetic. it shows nothing more than your contempt for the victims of this attack and your lack of backbone on the issue. Worse yet, you condemn the entire 13th Heavy Corps - which included myself - to imprisonment and detention. This bill is nothing more than a cynical attempt to save face! You secretly support these men in their mission, but you do not have the guts to say it. Your bill is both too weak and too ineffectual. So I propose this: first off, remove members of the 13th Heavy Corps from imprisonment, and only limit it to the brigade they were all in. Secondly, we must create a full investigation with a budget of 50 million. That is the only way to finally get to the bottom of this. The Lightning Resistance are not merely a threat to the left, but also the entire nation itself. For all we know, it could be President Kommenous to die next. Or it could be Minister Naoko. Or Vice President Capco. And perhaps, after all of that, it could be the entire United Earth itself that could die! We could find civil war if we do not stop them fast enough!" Lamond sat back down as he laid his fist upon the table.

The new WLIR Elections for Leader

After the unfortunate death of Frederij De Klair, a new election for leader will be held, along with the separatist referendum. Lamond, unsurprisingly, supports secession or at least semi-independent nations.

Mayoral Office of St.petersburg, Russia

Alexandra sat at her desk as she watched the election results go by on screen, her nails drumming against the hard wood of the desk in frustration, "not even a week into the new government and party leaders are being assassinated, and it doesn't look good for the party." She sat back in her chair as she thought, "we need to improve the party image, I may be off use in that department, at least here in Eastern Europe." She thought back to the party's coming to Moscow preaching on the Slavic identity, yet none of them were slavic like her, Russian blood coarsed though her. Even though she was dismayed at the events and results of the election she new the Neo-Fascist party was lucky to have even one seat, but she was going to change that. She leaned forward to the desk and pulled out a piece of stationary and began to write to her party leader.
Dear Mr. Leroy:
I wish to congratulate you on your recent win of a seat in the parliament, I was under certain doubts that the party may not win one at all. Nonetheless, I wish to express my concern for following elections, if I may be so bold, I wish to be of help next time around, evening it it is only to secure Eastern Europe. Till I hear from you, victory through strength. Strength through unity.
Signed,
Eastern European Party Branch leader Alexandra Malkovich Romanova

She curiously then sealed the letter with a wax seal of the Romanov Family Crest, then again sealed the envelope with a wax seal of the coat of arms of the city of St.petersburg. Then it was sent off, "may the man stay in power." She looks over at some photographs on her desk, family, her children, all needed this party to succeed this next time around, God knew what would happen to them if they didn't.

WLIR Elections And Separatist Vote

As results came in across the world (because there was no campaigning out of respect for De Klair along with time issues), the results came to a shock: the members of the WLIR had, by in large, voted to support the "Culture and Wealth-based Division", as opposed to pure Wealth or Ethnicity Divisions, or even what many thought to be the party line: supporting a Confederation of Earth. Separatist, Militant and Radical War Veteran Jean Lamond, who had spent 11 years in prison previously, had won the election, which many say marks the radicalisation of the WLIR. Here are the full results:

Separatist Vote

Round 1: Do you support the idea of a united world, as it stands?
Yes: 32%
No: 68%
Round 2: What model by which should the world be divided by?
Culture and Wealth: 42%
Culture: 29%
Wealth: 11%
Ideology: 12%
Other: 6%
Round 2: What model by which should the world be divided by? (Culture and Wealth vs Culture)
Culture and Wealth: 58%
Culture: 42%

Leader Elections
Round 1:
Jean Lamond: 58%
Spartacus the Crow (From the US South, supports direct democracy and 'identity politics', along with combatting discrimination worldwide): 28%
Johann Nietherstall (From the Rhine-Westphalia region, supports representative democracy and is considered to be the top moderate candidate: 12%
Other: 2%

No round 2 needed, Lamond has a majority.

Lamond's Entrance Speech

"Thank you for your votes. This show of solidarity and your faith in me is truly amazing. Even with the loss of our great leader, Frederij De Klair, we are still committed to a programme of militant and radical socialism. There is one threat in this society, one value which seeks to destroy all human decency and love in the world. It keeps us imprisoned in hedonism and decadence, and manifests and ferments itself in organisations such as the Republican Party. We see ourselves as individual units, and so choose to act in callous, egoistic ways which hurt those around us. The capitalist system forces us to be this. For you see...He began to read a poem
No man is an island,

Entire of itself;

Every man is a piece of the continent,

A part of the main.

If a clod be washed away by the sea,

Europe is the less,

As well as if a promontory were:

As well as if a manor of thy friend's

Or of thine own were.

Any man's death diminishes me,

Because I am involved in mankind.

And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls;

It tolls for thee.
He paused for effect, letting the imaginary bell toll in the heads of the audience.

These words are why we mourn, why we love. And yet, capitalism attempts to destroy this, separating us in dark cells of solitude. We are like prisoners in a game, slaves in a system which makes us toil more and more. It is nothing more than the unloving and frigid nature of this Fordist system. Of cold hard rationality. Our wealth as men and women and all our property and material goods have made us isolated from the true human condition. It has made us feel a chill, not of a frozen wind, but of our own misery and anguish. We have no meaning but to consume more and more. It is the battle of the Absurd and of the mind. With religion now delegated to the sidelines by capitalism, we have come to a new elusion. We elude the Absurd, a symbol of our inherent meaninglessness and of our existential struggle, through the work of capitalism. We must discard this idea that we can elude the Absurd, and instead embrace it and feel true freedom. Capitalist morality does not exist, it is not even amoral, it is immoral. And so, we must forge a better world, one in which we can embrace the Absurd and the true human condition and all that is right. Socialism is the path to salvation, it is the path to true happiness and to true freedom!"

The crowd clapped, as the speech rung around the world on millions of TVs and a large, packed conference hall.
Proud Libertarian Socialist

Resistance is the only path to freedom under tyranny. Power to the people and down with those who would subvert their will. In the name of justice, we must fight.

Anti-capitalist. Anti-fascist. Anti-authoritarian.

Party leaders and other members are to decide whether to approve and disapprove of the bill. This time, however party votes will not be unanimous, meaning that minority wings of many parties may vote differently than those of the majority ideology.
