I think we ought to discuss merging some of the similar parties into a more global scale, since it does seem to be that there are lots of parties directed at specific nations. Like La Front Égalitaire and the Deltaist Party could perhaps serve to merge, and then a coalition with the Democratic socialists would make sense. The distinction between the two is clear, but I agree that we’re getting maybe a few too many parties.

In order to add more political diversity to the Parliament, I think I'll scrap the LE and make a Global Greens sort of party.

I think before we get an IC, we should consolidate parties that way we don’t have a bunch of highly similar parties.

That's what I was thinking too and I was going to bring up merging the LE into this party, but then I realized that we don't have a Green-like party yet, and most political scientists would recognize most Green parties as different from other political movements. I know it's Wikipedia but this article helps make that point. And especially in Europe in our timeline, it is its own political force to be dealt with.
So I felt it would be fitting to have a Green Party at the start of the IC.

Is the Parliament elected using a form of Proportional Representation?
Would a party leader have to form a majority coalition before they could properly be named PM?

Yes, the Parliament is elected using proportional representation. I'll go further in detail about the electoral process once we start the game

No, the PM just has to have the most seats in the parliament. However, it would be extremely difficult to not have a majority coalition.

Posted also Zjaum would you be open to a coalition between our two parties their doesn't seem to be too much of an ideological difference and a coalition could certainly help two minor parties gain a lot more traction.

I think there are nuances between the two ideologies (i.e, your party would seem to be more interested in a laissez-faire stance and automation, mine is a tad more interested in technological innovation and riskier investment strategies), but there doesn't seem to be anything that would prevent a coalition. I'd be down!
