“FUCK!” Was all that Carter could say as the creature was able to avoid the blast and in a few seconds had its attention directly at Carter. Now protected by several of its robots it spoke directly to the Human.
“How annoying.”, he said as he turned towards Carter as he telekinetically took hold of two beam lances from fallen Jokari warbots, aiming one straight at Carter while another was aimed towards Sshalah. “You challenge the Devourer of Akaron, the Sixth Technomancer of the Sixteenth Migrant Fleet. You’d think that-“
Kralmon-Lokar was interrupted by the sound of dozens of blasters going off at once, resulting in a hail of energetic bolts slamming against the shield that his machine had conjured. He would turn to see a member of his own species, Yare-Lokem. However, the other Sarufi said nothing as she breathed a stream of flame at Kralmon-Lokar, causing him to lose focus on the two lance cannons that he was holding at two different directions. This resulted in him opening fire, but the distraction was enough for him to miss, but the beams were dangerous indeed. One would go right over Carter’s head, and he would feel the heat of the beam as it cleanly cut a hole through two pillars before being stopped by an energy shield on the wall that was always present to prevent any energy weapons from causing damage to any vital systems in the station. The other streamed past Sshalah before hitting a statue, melting its entire head away to a hot pool of grey goo.
The shot had only missed his head by a few inches, which made Carter’s heart stop for a moment as he felt the quick whizzing air of the blast pass his unprotected head.
Having been saved by the sudden distraction, Carter jumped into cover by one of the many pillars around the promenade. The adrenaline and stress of battle took a hold of him, sweating intensely and holding tightly onto the expulser as he remained covered by the pillar, he was shaking as he checked the expulser’s ammunition count, he had a shot left according to the HUD which was good but it was shocking and scary how that flying thing out there had been able to evade a direct shot from the gun.
“Alright… Alright Nathan… get your shit together!” Carter began murmuring himself, he still had a charging cylinder left so that was good but he had to make them count.
Carter then heard more commotion outside of his cover, and as he peeked his head out of his cover he was meet by a trio of Kralmon’s warbots heading right to his position, firing their weapons at the Human who again took cover in a hurry. Carter hastily began looking for his blaster pistol, unholstering it and readying it to fire. The warbots however didn’t give rest to their attacks and Carter had no means to defend himself but remain in cover and hope someone could help him.
