Technically as of right now My character is the highest ranking military personnel so I guess I would be.

Name: Yelagin Ippolit Semyonovich
Age: 36
Nationality: Russian
Appearance:
Standing at 6’5”, Yelagin has what can be described to be a stocky body type. With multiple scars covering the layer of fat built-up due to his years behind one desk or another, the man can still be considered highly athletic despite this fact. His years in the field, after all, have meant something after all. A crop of black hair is kept well-groomed, along with a beard in order to limit recognizability while in Earth territories and populations, frames what could be described as a fatherly face. Smile lines curtain a pair of blue eyes and the man is rarely seen without his smile or cigar. He lights one on every walk through the Stargate. Instead of SGC USAF wear, Yelagin prefers a VDV uniform, blue striped shirt included.
Military: Y
Rank: Старшина́ (Petty Officer) OR-8
Branch: Воздушно-десантные войска России (VDV) Russian Airborne Troops
Position: Security / Liaison / Command
Has Ancient Gene: N
Important Items:
  • KS-23
  • AN-94 w/ Grenade Launcher & Night Optics
  • Full Pack
Bio:
Born in Moscow, Yelagin’s early life was one of training, sports, and cadet corps. A fervent nationalist, his great enthusiasm came from his parents, both ardent supporters of the nation’s direction. He would join the Army at an extremely young age with the VDV, the Airborne corps, and would act several times in operations throughout the Middle East as an advisor to various foreign powers. With the advent of the SGC, revealed as it was to representatives of other nations, he would be one of those to act in conjunction with the USAF. A supporter of the actions through the Stargate, his reasons were far more practical than the moralistic causes of the Americans; Yelagin saw the technologies that came through the portal, saw the advances that could be made, and most definitely knew that it would benefit all of humanity for the explorations to continue.

In time, Yelagin would become aware of the Russian Stargate programme and rally support for it’s move into the Siberian territories for use in secrecy. Disguised as a snowbank for much of it’s life, something that would cause issues only once when abnormally high snowfall resulted in it’s near loss, the idea would be for it being implemented as a rapid deployment system for Russian attack helicopters, VTOL jets, and things of that sort. This would not come to fruitition, however, something highly regrettable as the program continues to be attempted. The control issues have only been increased due to advanced cold and gate damage during the Russian Revolution and subsequent attacks in the region.

In time, however, he would become somewhat antsy. He wanted to go through that gate, to see what was on the other side, and made it a point to accompany multiple SGC teams through the Stargate, exploring strange new worlds. Of course, Yelagin also made it a point to not at all be the lame duck, taking along with him his trusted KS-23. On multiple occasions an unfortunate Jaffa would find their torso no longer in existence, the ambush started by the Russian’s 23mm shotgun. He most certainly found it rather funny in a way; they acted so very smug until things got real. Then they died really quite quickly. It was far more interesting to be able to kill a real, honest Gou’ld; they always did seem to try to rant, something Yelagin took a little bit of a perverse pleasure in ending by a swift kick to the head.

These expeditions would continue until the advent of the Ori War. With this, Yelagin would lead multiple Russian-specific teams through the Stargate, the need for personnel outweighing the other minor issues, and would take part in multiple anti-Prior operations and engagements. SG-1, after all, was not the only team, and the Russians did rather well in holding their own. Superior firepower, as well as a tendency to utilize the RPG-23 and heavy machine guns, would lead to their success. A Prior, after all, couldn’t quite do his magic when he lacks a chest or has been hit by a RPG. It was amusing, too, to see the brief looks on the faces of the enemy soldiers as the representatives of their gods are killed like cattle. They were very brief looks, though.

The end of the war would herald the end of his career, the end of a soldier’s career, though he would continue his time as a liason to the SGC in the field. Integration of specialist units into the USAF command was performed and the Milky Way and Pegasus galaxies were both heavily explored. He enjoyed the time, having a laugh thinking himself like Chekov. It was fun, exploring new worlds, going where honestly many a man had gone before, and smoking his cigars all the way through. There were far fewer things like hostile worlds whch had not heard of the Tau’ri, far fewer enemies than before.

Now? Now another galaxy has been made known. He wants in, easily.

Name: Pudina Bogdana Denisovna
Age: 28
Nationality: Russian
Appearance:
At 4’8”, as short as one might find, Pudina’s stature is slim at best. She’s spent her life behind a desk until recently, after all, and training under the Spetznaz does not deliver a lifetime’s worth of musculature. As such, she lacks the toned body one would see in a professional. Good genes has kept Pudina thin, however, despite the steady diet of donuts and coffee coupled with long work hours. Black hair is kept at shoulder length which frames a pair of bispectled gray eyes; she always does seem to be staring at one thing or another.
Military: Y
Rank: Майо́р (Major) OF-3
Branch: Слу́жба вне́шней разве́дки Российской Федерации (SVR) Foreign Intelligence Service
Position Linguistics / Decryption Officer
Has Ancient Gene: Y
Important Items:
  • AS Val w/ Night Optics
  • Full Pack
  • Notebook w/ Assoc. Items
  • Assoc. Works by Dr. Jackson
Bio:
The vast majority of Pudina’s early life, her life in general, remains a secret behind closed doors. What is known is that she grew up in eastern Russia along the border to China, Mongolia, and as such spent a good deal of her life in another world. Linguistics proved easy for the young girl and, after a period of time, she would take several foreign language classes to further herself. This included English, German, French, Chinese, and Japanese, each to a varied degree of success. Her English, still, can use some work and her French is at what might be considered a beginner’s level at best. Pudina would excel, while she was in school, at such things as gymnastics and dance, finding great joy in the art of the human body.

She would be recruited from an early age into Russian Foreign Intelligence Services to act as a linguist, decoder, translator, and all together a sneaky squirrel. It was, also, a job that most certainly could never be talked about. Nevertheless, with her expertise and not with her knowledge, several Jaffa codes would even be broken along with a portion of the Ori encoding method for gate sequence activation, allowing for critical mission elements to perform in the Ori Galaxy. She had been told that these manners and methods were false languages and methodologies under use by various NATO powers, something that might seem doubtful at best and extremely false at worst. Nevertheless, despite the vast issues and rifts in encoding methodology between the real encoding and the fakes, Pudina would prevail with flying colors.

The Russian’s induction into the SGC, driven by the requirement for more translators and interpretors in the period following the Ori War, would be a smoother one; the idea of alien life coupled with her strange adventures into dubious codes made it plausible that one thing or another was in contact with Earth. What did surprise her was the fact that the SGC had waged full scale war against foreign powers and prevailed, somehow without the entire support of Earth’s resources and people. It was impressive, very impressive, and made her all the more giddy at the prospect of going through.

Her training would, however, be less giddy. A grueling endeavor of special forces training under Spetznaz instructors, the Russian representatives wanted their contributions to be of high quality, to be able to follow the troops into the field and, if necessary, defend the Stargate on the other side as auxiliary troops. They recognized that some planets would be modernized to a good enough quality as to field professional armies with professional firearms and that some of those planets would view intergalactic foreigners poorly. They might attack or, in suspicion, attempt to take the SGC team hostage. As such, sharpshooting, tactics, and field survival training, in case of Stargate disruption or enemy control over this, was taught to all Russian ‘volunteers’. Pudina, for her part, excelled in field survival training, enjoying the hunting as she did, was moderate in tactics, and somewhat was less than average in marksmanship. She was, however, passable in all qualities looked at and was sent.

Now she goes forth, with her knowledge this time, as interpreter.

Age: 27
Nationality: American
Apperance:
Military: Y
Rank: Army Specialist (E-4)
Branch: Infantry
Position Rifleman
Has Ancient Gene: N
Important Items: Colt revolver from his grandfather, Rampuri from Afghanistan, HK416, and a pocket watch from his brother.
Bio:

Born in New York Jones in 1992/6/7 to Martha and Bob Jones. He would live a rather average life but everything changed the moment the two towers ceased existing and with it his father. Being only nine at the time it hit Jones hard losing his father like that and his mother was forced to move in with Russel's grandfathers in New England. He would face great difficulty in schools as his personality there was often volatile and hostile to other classmates. Tired of his behavior Russel's mother would enroll him at West Point.

His behavior would improve dramatically in the school and he would join the army in 2010 and be shipped off to Afghanistan. He would serve in the 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment in Kabul. He would rise to the rank of Specialist in 2012 and be awarded the Distinguished Service Cross for leading his platoon out of an ambush and in the process killing dozens of Taliban infantry and even a T-34 personally. However, during the ambush, he sustained multiple gunshot wounds and a head injury. He was given the option of an Honorable discharge he refused it and once more entered combat in 2015 after a short break in America to recover from his wounds. He would once more be wounded in 2019 in Syria after an IED exploded under his Humvee leaving him partially deaf in his left ear and with a slight limp. This time he accepted the Honorable discharge.

Two days after his discharge he would be offered a position of a rifleman in the next expedition. However, he refused citing that his concerns with SG's loyalty to the United States but a second offer with improved benefits and ensurement of SG's loyalty to the United States. After physical and psychiatric several tests, which have only so far shown that the slight limp in the right leg has healed very slightly and that the damage in his left ear has mostly recovered, he was approved but due to the rushed process, he was given minimal briefing on SG itself and only has been on site for less than a week.

Do our own reboot of this or do the British Stargate thing?
