Currency: Australian dollar
Major import/export partners: The Commonwealth, China and southeast Asia are Australia's greatest commercial partners. Special attention must be paid to the position that its construction materials and construction services sectors have conquered in southeast Asia and the Pacific, as a result of its participation in rebuilding countries that were once occupied by Japan after the wars of liberation, as well as shipbuilding in the region. Australia has also increasingly explored the exportation of agrarian products to the Middle East.

Major Domestic Issues:
  • Ideological rivalries
  • Peripheric areas lacking in infrastructure
  • Eventual demands for greater provincial autonomy
  • Crime and corruption
Major Foreign Issues:
  • Other countries' spheres of influence keeping markets closed to Australia
  • The advances of ideologically uncompatible blocs
  • The Commonwealth sometimes limiting the scope of what Australia can and can't do regarding its foreign policy
History: The first seeds for australian autonomy were planted still in the early 19th century, when settlers became increasingly resentful of the colonial administration and courts favoring wealthy ranchers. This increased when local legislatures were set up and the voting system was bound to the possession of property. Intellectual circles inspired by the works of Thomas Paine and others spread ideas of dissent among liberal professionals and laborers, sometimes going as far as advocating republican ideals. Protests became frequent throughout the 1840s, until universal male suffrage was instituted in the 1850s.
In the 1880s, public life was stirred by another question. Heaps of immigrants who would work for almost any price were coming from Asia, a great opportunity for contractors who didn't want to deal with increasingly demanding labor unions. This motivated a varied number of responses. Nativist sentiments grew and were strongly associated with integralist movements, motivating attacks against immigrant communities. Social democrats demanded the government to step in and assert minimum wages and better labor conditions by law. Communists and anarchists carried out bombings and assassinations against business owners and government officials.
In 1889, the powder keg finally exploded. Numerous of these groups made their own moves to rebel and declare the independence of Australia, turning it into a bloody mess for four years until the United Kingdom had to acknowledge it wouldn't be able to maintain its lordship over Australia. Thus, it came to a compromise with the liberal republicans and social democrats, recognizing the Republic of Australia that they declared, as long as they kept the australian market open to the UK.
The following decades would see much work and many changes, including the rebuilding of post-war Australia, the pacification of politics (not without strong persecution against the most aggressive and leading figures among integralists, communists and anarchists) and the expansion of the civil rights of women and aboriginals, following a number of protests and polemical judicial cases.
The overall tone of public life was optimistic until an economic crisis hit the country at the dawn of the 1930s. The political life became more agitated again. A group of progressive liberals and moderate social democrats converged to form the Civist Party, promising to fix the crisis. They quickly gained space in the government and implemented a number of welfare programs, controlling the rise of poverty, and anti-trust policies, increasing competitivity and revitalizing the market. The success of the measures that it took won the Civist Party got them to dominate the national politics for the following decades.
In the 1940s, the UK, UAS and Germany sought to make Australia join their offensive against Japan, generating extensive debates in the government. The Civist Party basically split between the pro-intervention Vanguard faction and the non-interventionist Patriot faction. In the end, the Vanguard came out on top and Australia joined the war, helping liberate many japanese-controlled territories. The conflict marked the height of australian nationalism and greatly influenced everyday life at the time. At the end of the war, Australia maintained New Guinea, Molucca and Lesser Sunda as mandates, and greatly invested in developing new institutions and infrastructure there.
However, throughout the 1950s, movements for greater autonomy rose in the mandate territories, and the costs of war and investments made there caused the Vanguard to lose public favor and the Patriots to make a comeback. Under their administration, the central government negotiated with local leaders and recognized the independence of the mandate territories.
The constant bickering between the two civist factions brought disunity and weakened the party, causing it to lose an election to a left-wing coalition in the 1960s. The new government started a series of projects that first conquered public opinion, but without much fiscal responsibility, the effects were soon felt. The civists, realizing what their mistakes had led to, held a national convention in which they dealt with the central issues that plagued the representants of the ideology and reformed it into the National Civist Party.
After slowly regaining public trust, the National Civist Party took the following years to correct the public finances. Australia seems to be back on its tracks for some time now, but now it faces itself with the need for new markets to fuel its growing industries, the need to adapt to the new era of information technology and the rapid social changes that come with it.

  • Take control of the Iberian Peninsula and wrest away control of colonies once under Spanish sovereign

Total military size - Over ~300,000 active personnel are in service within the Fuerzas Armadas Españolas, with a sizable reserve of nearly ~130,000 personnel that are in active rotation from a two-year draft affecting ages eighteen and above. Majority of personnel land in the Ejército de Tierra, totaling over 198,000 men, with the Navy and Airforce split even with 47,500 personnel respectively, with the rest in reserve.

Breakdown of ground sector -
    Image
    Ejercito de Tierra
    Todo por la patria!
    Founded in the 15th Century
    Largest component of the military

  • Well-trained from the active rotation of reservists, the Army safeguards the order of the Realm, and pursue its interests whatever it may be. It suffers from chronic under-funding and subsequent downgrades from previous administrations. With the advent of PM Morillo's regime a extensive initiative to expand the offensive & defensive capabilities of the army has been well underway since 1988, with a significant amount spent on refitting.

  • Focus on high-powered cartridges still persist within the higher ranks of the Infantry component, bickering with more reform-oriented officers whether to stay with the old but reliable Spanish 7.62×51mm in use since the 50s, or switch to the newly-developed 7.5x38mm solely for the CETME service rifle currently equipping nearly all of the branches of the Armed Forces. At the moment, the reformists seem to prevail, and small-scale production has been commenced.

  • Flak jackets are widespread in the Spanish military combined with chest rigs and a camouflage-patterned
steel helmet, particularly the M1 Helmet from the UAS. As a consequence however, very little ballistic protection is provided to the user, and amidst little to no political will spearheading a replacement despite modernization, there is only a minuscule chance that an inquiry for ballistic vests will be made.

  • While with the proportionally low budget, the Army has a sizable fleet of helicopters ranging from dedicated MEDEVAC choppers to gunships equipped with autocannons and rockets. No sophisicated attack choppers exist, with only systems retrofitted to guide the weaponry to where it should be pointed at and engines uprated to handle the weight on utility types such as the UH-1G Huey operating under Spanish colors.

  • The mechanized and especially the armored components of the Army are well maintained and is known for their discipline in field operations. Equipped with a variety of foreign vehicles under Spanish specifications such as the AMX-30(E) and the M113A2(E), several full-strength divisions are designated as fully capable of acting as the vanguard of operations.

  • Anti-tank capabilities were prioritized in the as the world realized that MBTs were more relevant than ever before, and because of innovations in missile technology and the subsequent sub-caliber warheads that came along with it dozens of ENTAC missiles were purchased in the 60s, being complemented in the late 70s with man-portable launchers and more advanced wire-guided pieces such as the TOW in extremely limited service.

  • Artillery operated by the Army is outdated and outgunned, while their most modern piece is the Swedish 155mm FH77 procured in the mid-80s, they are not numerous, with majority of the guns 105mm in caliber. Experiments were conducted mounting these onto platforms to provide more mobile coverage, but no conclusive results has cancelled these projects.

  • Air-defense is the least funded part of the Army, while air superiority and power is understood and valued by tacticians and generals alike, the budget is simply not enough to procure sophisticated systems and maintain them in active service. Consequently, they rely on rapid-fire 20mm guns in a twin-barrel format within a divisional-level. To remedy this, there is independent anti-air units attached to brigades equipped with the underperforming FIM-43 Redeye missile and launch unit. Modern self-propelled anti-air are generally unheard of, with only autocannons mounted on APCs or light vehicles acting as rapid-response against aircraft.

Breakdown of naval sector -
    Image
    Armada Espanola
    Per Terra, et Mare
    Founded in the 13th Century
Second largest component in the military

  • Extensive reconstruction and reorganization begun in the aftermath of WW1, with three main naval commands being set up in three corresponding directions; North, East, and South. Outlines for a fleet-in-being were drafted in the early 20s called Reforma de Carrero, headed by prominent naval officers influential in the command structure. This was never fully executed as a result of budget contraction, but a form of it was committed in the 30s, aiming to build a sizable blue-water navy using primarily air power.

  • Currently, over ~180 ships of different classes & types serve in various formations dotted around Spain. The most important one is the regional fleets, equipped to execute different kinds of tasks. Two aircraft carriers Mateo and Saúl serve in the North and East respectively, housing in F-14 Tomcats and F/A-18 Hornets to supplement their dominance in the seas. This comes in a high price, and the subsequent downgrade of budget has left some of its fleet mothballed or even dismantled to cut costs.

  • The Infanteria de Marina , the oldest Naval Infantry branch in the world, bears this title with pride, a hardened and elite force capable of deploying overseas anywhere in the world within seventy-two hours. Heavily armed and drilled, over ~20,000 Marines serve fully integrated into the Navy. An independent tank battalion exists, consisting of light tracked tanks and armored cars bearing cannons. Specialist groups also exist, such as diver groups and assault platoons in raiding warships. Budget constraints has led to the subsequent deactivation of some formations, being put into the back burner.

Breakdown of airforce sector -
    Image
    Ejercito del Aire
    Quien, ose paga
    Founded in the 20th Century
    Smallest component in the military

  • While small for its size of only ~410 aircraft and ~30 light helicopters in its inventory, its the most remarkably modern out of the two branches in the Armed Forces, boasting an assortment of western aircraft, with its most prominent being the land variant of the UAS F/A-18 Hornet. Such expenses were not without consequences, and most of its fleet is grounded as a result of major cuts in budget and lack of spare parts that came along with it.

  • Pilots train heavily to perform well in their intended task, organized in squadrons and larger 'air groups', meant to coordinate large-scale operations that can be joined by the Army and Navy. Nearly ~300 to ~400 hours are invested in training candidates within flight schools, using an array of jet trainers locally manufactured by Hispano.

  • Several Paracaidista (Parachutist) Regiments exist within the structure as an independent sub-branch of the Airforce. Trained to be a strike force to take even the strongest hardpoints deep within enemy territory, they hit fast, and they hit hard, taking their objectives and holding them until the frontline catches up with them. Additionally, an experimental air mobile brigade has been set up, using helicopters and air-droppable vehicles as their main advantages, looking to overwhelm the enemy.

Major foreign military suppliers - UAS, France, Britain

Currency - Spanish Peseta

Major import/export partners - France, Britain, UAS, Deutsche Reich, Italy

Major Domestic Issues -
  • Perceived instability by both the common people and the government in the autonomous regions of Basque & Catalonia

  • Little economic progress and subsequent stagnation by previous regimes has led to ever-increasing budget cuts not only on the military, but on departments essential to the everyday workings of the administration

  • The constant threat of a potential Integralist/Communist coup et d'tat prevents the concept of meritocracy from flourishing, instead a widespread and ever present fear by the public has introduced skepticism and suspicion, focusing on the political alignment of people then their actual ability

  • Worries of authoritarianism are called upon by political observers and NGOs despite reassurances. Conservative elements that support tightening the country clash with leftist groups almost daily after the election, some worrying escalation. Despite tensions calming down in late '89, caution and paranoia threaten to grip the streets of Madrid.

Major Foreign Issues -

  • The '85 Revolution in Portugal has served as an export of communists into the country, leading to near war in '87 in the consequence of several Portuguese saboteurs being discovered. As of now, the border is completely closed and militarized, with guards supported by high-powered searchlights and helicopters patrolling the border and its settlements.

  • Uncertainty of the cities located in the Al Rif whether it should be kept or given to the Moroccan government is a hot topic in the Spanish parliament. Worries on aggression by Morocco and the ability of responding to such a situation could mean death or dishonor to Spanish prestige and pride.

  • Trade, while prosperous, has felt the effects of stagnation of the Spanish economy, and lawmakers have proposed establishing formal relations with the less-radical socialist nationstates. This has gained widespread news coverage and controversy, and no one is really sure if the
    motion will really take off.

[/list]

History -
The ever-present irrelevancy of the Spanish Kingdom first started in the aftermath of the Napoleonic Wars, from liberal uprisings to the inefficient court that gripped Spain. The first invasion of Morocco in 1860 would end up successful, forcing concessions to the Empire, but glaring faults in the Army were exposed, suffering casualties not from enemy fire, but from logistical issues and disease. This would prove fatal to Isabella II, whose popularity was already slipping from humiliation in her early years of interfering with the government.

In 1862, a popular rebellion broke out against her regime, forcing out in exile within the year to Paris. Amadeus of Savoy would then be selected as the new King amidst political chaos and an almost broken parliament, frozen and incapable of debating without accusing one another for the mess that threatens to spill into every aspect of life. Any attempts to unify the body for one issue ended up in a stalemate, and a breaking point was reached.

After the Amadeus of Savoy declared the Spanish people to be 'ungovernable' in 1874 and subsequently abdicating, the Spanish throne was left open for anyone to get. King Alfonso XII subsequently grabbed the opportunity, proclaiming himself King in a power play against the conspiring republican revolutionaries who were already moving into Madrid. A pitched struggle ensued as gunshots and cannon fire ring out in the 'longest night of Spain, ending in a monarchist victory and the dispersal of the revolutionaries to the eastern countryside, where a few more attempted rebellions would last, and fail.

This political instability was not without consequence, the news of chaos had spread, and several Carlist uprisings erupted in an effort to bring the former lost glory of the Spanish Empire. Dubbed the Second Carlist War of 1875, dozens of Army units were left with a decision to defect, or be the hammer that would make or break Alfonso's regime. Thousands died, and many more from atrocities widespread from both sides in an attempt to stem influences from the other.

Eventually, the Carlist rebellion was pushed back to the French border, concluding in nearly all of the insurrectionists surrendering, or escaping the perimeter. Ragged and now reduced to a bunch of squabbling cliques, were hunted down mercilessly as the conflict winded down, with the announcement of the defeat at the year of mid-1876. An uneasy peace would cloud over the country, with several reforms being passed down to slowly introduce public schooling and health, in addition to improving work conditions which were largely popular by the public.

By the death of King in 1885, Alfonso XIII was proclaimed as the successor of Spain, a regent came in preparation for transition, leaving behind a stabilized Spanish Kingdom. Whilst Alfonso grew up, the disaster of '98 commenced in the Spanish-Japanese War, their Asiatic Fleet and colonial armies being completely destroyed in a series of decisive battles. This would set up the conditions for revolution, with a revival in interest on Carlist and Republican movements, a worrying Integralist movement called the Acción integralista para España (AIE) and a far-left group called the Unión Española de Partidos Socialistas (UEpS), all calling for the downfall of the current monarch.

When World War 1 came around with King Alfonso XIII in full power, the fuel hemorrhaging every corner of the state suddenly stopped, its focus pointed towards the growing conflict. Despite official neutrality, they maintained contacts from both sides, the economy suddenly ballooning from the influx of contracts and transportation of materials. Biased towards the Anglo-German front however, a plan to modernize the military was drafted up, justifying the bloodshed done from modern warfare. An British military mission was sent at the end of the Great War, setting up strong relations with the British.

Post-war late-1910s and 1920s Spain enjoyed relative prosperity, while never ever being able to diffuse the fires of rebellion, would calm the public, garnering support for the government administration as literacy rates improve, living conditions become more tolerable and transparency between state and the people become clearer as a result of intense reforms by the Prime Minister.

The Rif War of 1920 would start violently, but end peacefully, ceding most of its protectorate for the exceptions of Ceuta & Meilla in a comprehensive agreement in 1921, with the King fearful of inadvertently lighting a fire and justifying a radical cause to exist as a primary factor of supporting these deals. This was a massive blow to the Africanists within foreign policy, and soon descended into irrelevancy as Spain focused onto itself.

As the year 1931 rolled right around the corner the decades of built-up tensions suddenly exploded quite literally in Madrid and other major cities, the flags of the UEpS and countless others were raised as the banners of Spain lowered down in its suffocating oppression. The flames of the upper-class buildings lit the night as like before half a century ago, planes swerving through the clouds as bombs dropped onto the cobblestone streets, much to the dismay of the citizens living within.

Soldiers and militia alike banded together to defend the Spanish constitution, and its King, with war correspondents describing entire blocks fortified as strongpoints, sandbags and manually moved trams blockading streets connecting to the Royal Palace where the King has already fled to the east. The Spanish Civil War had begun. Frontlines would quickly become static as trenches were dug in and killing fields were established, only breaking in 1933 as a result of military intervention by the Anglo-German Bloc, the tanks stunning the Spanish Traidores] so amply called by the Loyalist forces.

A major battle remembered to this day is the Battle of Barcelona, a ad-hoc formation storming the cramped streets with every corner lined with bullet holes and blood splatter. At this time, the Integralist and Carlist movements banded together to form "Gran Espana" occupying majority of the southern provinces, and the UEpS formally declaring itself the "Unión de Comunas Españolas", with its hold in the northern provinces, including the coastline and Catalonia. The Anglo-German Alliance would test their tactics here as well as supply the Spanish military with gear and training as time went on. With the combined might of two super-powers, both movements were pulled to the brink of destruction, a desperate last stand finally holding out in Valencia and Cadiz.

As 1936 rolled in, Spain was in ruins, and the royal standard was once again ruling over the country. It took until the late 60s to fully reconstruct everything, with designers exploiting the ruins to completely plan cities from the ground up, constructed in a modern fashion with wide roads, ease of access to public services, and grand architectural projects. Called an economic 'miracle' for some, investors and capital poured in as a result of liberalization by the reforms of PM Maron Tyerra, leading the liberal-centrist party of Spain. At this point, Alfonso XIII was long dead, replaced by the still-popular Juan Carlos I since 1941.

In 1971, a sniper attacked the PM strolling in a convertible during a parade in Burgos, scoring a hit right on the head and instantly killing him. This lonewolf assassin was found to be associated with a leftist Basque group called Euskadi Ta Askatasuna, prompting a widespread reprisal for leftist and Basque citizens, widespread riots looting stores and trashing cars, a turbulent time that ended in 1973 with the declaration of martial law that lasted until 1976.

While Spain is used to intervening into foreign conflicts, ever since the Heligoland Proclamation, the country has invested some of its best units to defending Africa from descending into anarchy, sending battalion-sized units to familiarize themselves in the countries of Zaire and Angola. This period has created a generation of traumatized soldiers, stunned by the ferocity and brutality of the insurgents treating their own brethren.

As the 80s began to come and go the economy of Spain suddenly contracted as a consequence of high inflation and lowering prices in the market, forcing an political upheaval and the landslide election for the first time an conservative-majority. Investing on the untouched militaristic tendencies of the Spanish people, massive military expansion and aggressive economic growth were the hallmarks of PM Lucian, barely breaking out of stagnation by 1989.. A new era marks Spain, for the better or worse..

Capital - Hanseong
Type of Government - Integralist Single-party Dictatorship posing as a Presidential Republic
Head of State(s) - President Takahashi Ryuichi
Party in Power - Democratic Party
Executive Title - President of the Chosun Republic
Demographics - 65 Million
- 95% Ethnic Koreans
- 4% Japanese
- 1% Other
Flag - Flag of the People's Republic
National Anthem - [optional]
Public Goals -
- Continue close ties with Japan and the Phillipines in their opposition against communism
- Enact stability measures, continual of bread and circus policy and to root out traitorous elements in the Chosun People's Army
- Strengthen capital defenses
- Crack down on religious organizations such as the Buddhists and the Christians due to their constant rebellions
Private Goals -
- Establish friendly ties with China and the Commonwealth of Nations for Korea's total independence from the Co-Prosperity Sphere and also to deter potential Soviet incursion
- Restore the Korean Empire by bringing the exiled Imperial family from China
- Sow discontent among the populace with hopes for nationalist rebellions, diverting resources from the People's Republic
Total military size - 720,000 Active duty; 2,000,000 reserve
Breakdown of ground sector - 550,000 personnels with 4,300 tanks, 2,500 infantry fighting vehicles, 8,600 artillery pieces, and 5,500 multiple rocket launcher systems
Breakdown of naval sector - 60,000 personnels with 70 submarines, 456 landing craft, 3 frigates, 14 corvettes, 30 mine countermeasure vessels, 30 missile boats, 247 torpedo boats, 191 patrol boats
Breakdown of airforce sector - 110,000 personnels with 1,300 aircraft of which over 700 combat aircraft, 300 helicopters and 300 transport aircraft.
Major foreign military suppliers [IF APPLICABLE]- Japanese and the US
Extra military information - Although the Chosun People's Army boasts a massive army for the population size due to mass conscription laws, the quality of the Chosun Army is debateable. The Chosun Army is largely reliant on military backing from the Japanese and dessertions among ranks were all to common along with relatively poor quality of training and equipments. Much of the CPA's equipments are outdated equipments from Japan and the United States. Outside of the capital divisions, only the northern divisions have the equipments and the training to provide adequate defenses to deter potential Chinese aggressions (that is to say, however, also more likely to rebel depending on circumstances).

Currency - Won
Major import/export partners - Japan, the United States, Brazil, China, Australia, UAS, France, Canada
Major Domestic Issues - Due to the rigged election of Korean-Japanese politician Takahashi Ryuichi (Takahashi Seong-hyun), nationalistic insurrections have flaired across the peninsula. Although the People's Republic had successfully dealt with local insurrections (some Righteous Army uprisings, some socialist strikes, some Christian rebellions), this is largely due to help from the Japanese and other members of the Co-Prosperity Sphere. Due to member-states of the CPS undergoing their own issues, the PRK is far less abled in dealing with the insurrection.
Major Foreign Issues - There is always the fear, from most rebels and the pro-governments of the Soviets extending their powers to the small peninsula nation.
History - Korea as an independent nation officially ended in 1910 with the forced abdication of Emperor Sunjong of the Imperial House of Yi and the country was annexed by Japan. Much of the Korean government loyal to the Imperial family or nationalist minded generals and bureaucrats fled to China where they resided in Manchuria (later Shanghai) and rallied for the Koreans to resist the Japanese occupiers. Some resistance to the Japanese annexation were peaceful protest while some were violent. All were met with force and even some peaceful movements turned to violence. However, any uprisings by any armed militias were crushed by the Japanese who employed state of the art weapons against the outmanned, outgunned, and outmatched rebels. Some of the more better trained and better equiped armed groups, such as the remnants of the Korean Imperial army, however, continued to fight back although many were forced to flee into Manchuria where they incorporated into the reformed Korean Legion.

The Japanese began their rule over Korea with some modern developments. Although the Joseon Dynasty and the short-lived Korean Empire began industrialization in the late 1800s, industrialization was accelerated under Japan. The Japanese also brought forward public education and economic modernization but most developments of Korea were solely to benefit Japan, although some positives came to Korea including increase in quality of life and adult literacy. Nevertheless, many Koreans were marginalized and conscripted as forced laborers, Christian missionaries and activities, while tolerated, were regularly searched by authorities, and Korean-language organizations and newspapers were censored.

In China, remnants of the Korean imperial government were reorganized into the Provisional Court of the Empire of Korea with Crown Prince Eumin recognized as the Prince-Imperial Yeung of Korea, with independence activist Kim Gu selected as the Prime Minister of Korea. Although recognition of the Provisional Court was limited only to China, the Provisional Court enacted a provisional constitution and established three separate systems of legislative, executive, and judicial power. The provisional military, the Korean Legions, was established and were usually attached to Chinese units, although many KL units were active in combat against the Japanese during the Second Sino-Japanese War.

During the Second Sino-Japanese War, Koreans in the peninsula and Manchuria were conscripted in the Imperial Japanese Army, although there were some who volunteered for combat duty. Some Korean soldiers and officers desserted the Army and surrendered to Chinese forces while others fought under the Japanese banner. Although the Japanese had initial strength in the war, the joint Sino-Soviet war had turned the tide and the Japanese were forced back into the peninsula, creating a strong line of defenses across the Yalu River. Despite the wishes of the Provisional Court to march onto Hanseong and to install Prince-Imperial Yeung, an armistice was signed between the Sino-Soviet alliance and the Japanese Empire, allowing Japan to keep Korea as part of its sphere.

Korea was granted semi-autonomy by Japan after the war, the Japanese Governor-General Nobuyuki Abe invited prominent independence activists to discuss terms in creating a Korean state. A committee lead by independence leader Lyuh Woon-hyung, was created, forming the Committee for the Preparation of Korean Independence to transition the country towards independence. However, talks broke down as many of the committee could not agree on the governmental frameworks with the Japanese administrators and the Japanese military was sent in to intervene on behalf of the administrators. Under the Japanese planning, the People's Republic of Chosun was formed as a Presidential form of republic with the President indirectly elected by the People's Assembly, alongside establishment of the military and legal frameworks modeled on the Japanese's. Although the PRC was given international recognition as an independent nation of Korea, the Provisional Court lead by Prime Minister Rhee Syngman and Prince Yeung refused to recognize the People's Republic of Chosun as a legitimate state.

Korea, despite claiming to be an independent state, was still under subserviance to Japan as most politicians had ties to Japanese interests. Although the general public had some misgiving about the puppet government, many just grumbled and went on with their lives as the new government did represented the general interest of Korea. The PRC government had sponsored economic modernism policies to strengthen Korea's economy, including trade deals with Japan and the United States. Korea's economy had grown rapidly during the 1960s and 70s. Several reforms were enacted in the education system, ensuring that the primary schools would be on equal footing. However, political activism for left-wing or even right-wing nationalist causes were suppressed although many activist movements still occured. Such example happened throughout Korea's history. In 1967, a group of Catholic and Protestant ministers and activists lead by Catholic activist Kim Dae-jung were arrested under the accusation of religious extremism, although many were eventually pardoned, some fled the country to China or Australia. In 1979, businessman Kim Young-sam was arrested for his public opposition to the PRC government but was able to escape to China in making radio propaganda criticizing the PRC. In 1980, a student protest for a more liberal government in Gwangju was met with heavy force, which lead to one of the first case of an organized armed uprising where the city of Gwangju experienced heavy firefight between the Chosun People's Army and the Gwangju citizenry in the event known as the May 18th Uprising or the Gwangju Uprising. The uprising was crushed by the CPA and the Japanese garrison and the city of Gwangju was under heavy martial law.

In China, the old Prince-Imperial Yeung passed away in 1970, his last words wanting to be buried in his home country of Korea. However, the PRC refused to honor the request made by Prime Minister Heo Jeong. As he died without a male heir, the court selected the son of his brother, Prince Yi Jung as the next Prince-Imperial. In the late 1980s, the PRC government announced new reforms to the governmental system. For the first time, elections were held by a popular vote and economic liberalization was enacted. However, the election of half-Korean, half-Japanese general Takahashi Ryuichi Seong-hyun as President, instead of popular Catholic activist Kim Dae-jung. Accusations of electoral rigging were labeled with protests and small scaled uprisings erupting all over the peninsula. The People's Assembly under President Takahashi enacted martial law and oppositions were met with violence. However, the chaos of Korea is growing and the People's Republic of Chosun is standing on its last leg, despite support from the Japanese, as opportunistic generals and figures enact their plans that could change Korea forever.

Asian Syria Korea is accepted

I have my doubts that the FACS would have one of the largest economies in the New World, though, considering South America and the democracies sitting on the USA. Demographics also look a bit unfinished. Fix a few things and it should be good.

Italy is involved in arms trade (the Italian PM has an Italian-American mafia cousin who is involved in arms trafficking) and seeks to become a major power (while struggling to keep up it's sphere of influence in Africa).

You have just "34%" and nothing next to it.

Interesting, interesting. I believe I had it, or meant to have it, in my app that Rhodesia is looking to better its military. So I guess arms trade is something we could dabble in.

In light of what I've seen and heard on the Discord, I'm bowing out. I won't associate with folks who find hatred to be a laughing matter. Palmetto, you are a fine writer with a great imagination, and I'm sorry to throw this wrench in the RP. But you deserve better of your players, and so do I.
For really, I think that the poorest he that is in England hath a life to live as the greatest he. And therefore truly, Sir, I think it's clear that every man that is to live under a Government ought first by his own consent to put himself under that Government. And I do think that the poorest man in England is not at all bound in a strict sense to that Government that he hath not had a voice to put himself under.
