Everything has been updated -

And Asia is filling out nicely ( while Scandinavia seems cramped )

You're probably going to need to rely on guess work to some extent, since this period of time isn't documented all that well, which makes it harder to reconstruct than later times.

Agreed, but I do know that even the latini tribe entry into the region is considerably debatable ranging from entering in 1000 bc to entering who knows when.

Have the rules changed like one page equals a year or something. I missed like 5 pages of OOC and some people are at two years already? Just wanting to know for my second post.

The rules have changed - but universalcommons is going a bit rogue. I've tg'ed him about it.

Anyways. There is no set time progression anymore. Generally, just keep your posts within the same continuous year. At random impromptu intervals, I will announce a global time skip. One will be up coming in a little while. Waiting for everyone to land and establish themselves.

The World Capitalist Confederation wrote:Author Applicaiton

Name: (Dr.) Albert Ruper
Age: 37
Height and Weight: 192cm, 85kg
[/b]Skin, hair, and eye description: Blue eyes, blonde hair. Pale, white skin.
( Optional ) Picture:

Prior Profession: Part-Time Author, Copywriter (Basically someone who writes for advertising and stuff)
Level of education ( specify degrees or note worthy classes ): PhD in Creative Writing, Master's Degree in English Language.
Physique description: Average build, slightly muscular.
Useful skills: Has the capability to persuade people whether through writing or speaking. A sharp mind with a strong wit, very methodical and calculating.

National Origin: Anglo-German
What were you doing prior to falling asleep and awakening in the past?: Ironically enough, writing a book about time travel.
Description of personality: A dark, brooding character, yet stiff and strong, almost like the personality of a military officer (taking after his father). He is also quite egoistic (although he isn't vain) and harsh against those who do not obey him.
Where in the world are you landing?: North Jutland.

Autobiography/Biography ( paragraph minimum ):
Born to a retired officer and the daughter of an engineer in Dover, Albert Ruper was born as the middle child of the family, having an older brother and younger sister. In school, he mostly succeeded in intellectual pursuits, making a few friends with his charisma and his wit. He was kind and gentle, despite his father trying to prod him otherwise. He began to shift slowly, however, starting with his family's vacation in Jerusalem....

As many people know, "Jerusalem Syndrome" is the name given to religious experiences or delusions (depending on who you ask) within Jerusalem. And so, Albert received one, hearing the voice of what seemed to be three angels and an omnipotent being, calling to him to bring mankind justice and set it free. He would be given strength and intelligence as a result of this, and so, he pledged his allegiance to the being, of which he did not know the identity of.

Along with that, his own father also treated him as though he was in the military himself, although not in an abusive way like many would think. His soft, gentle outside soon became hard and grisly, even serving a year or two in the service like his father.

He then took an education, writing for a living, with aspirations to become an author. This mostly succeeded as he lived a well-off life for a few years, until he came here.

( Optional on down)
What are your intentions for this RP, what's the long term goal?: Build a civilisation built on the values of intelligence. Possibly a meritocracy or democracy.
What people or places are you taking inspiration from?: Ehh, mostly original.
Why did you chose to land where you did?: Because I like Germanic cultures and Denmark is one of the most arable places in Europe.
What vibe should we get from your civilization and it's culture?: A Germanic militaristic society with a foundation of culture.
What are your character's motivations?: Just advancing society and promoting his own agenda, you know, the usual.
Theme Song?:
What do you wanna see in this RP? What would make it better?:

" As many people know, "Jerusalem Syndrome" is the name given to religious experiences or delusions (depending on who you ask) within Jerusalem. And so, Albert received one, hearing the voice of what seemed to be three angels and an omnipotent being, calling to him to bring mankind justice and set it free. He would be given strength and intelligence as a result of this, and so, he pledged his allegiance to the being, of which he did not know the identity of. "

This part here is putting a bad taste in my mouth. This just seems kind of out there. I would prefer that authors remain as close to their RPer as possible - and that any interesting development ( such as like delusions ) to only occur once in the past.

I mean, it’s not really something which is too severe or too big. Just a mild bout. But will change soon. I was considering something like myself, but honestly..

I'll tighten things up. My posts are not as detailed as others. Thanks. I redid them a bit and cleaned up the ending to my last post so it is more consistent. I think I can create a tighter more detailed story which covers less time. I'm used to writing really fast...

Okay, that helps. I think I may do my posts in either every 4 or six months in that case for my chars timeline if that is okay.

No foolin',I'm writing a long post just to try and cover the large time that everyone is doing. Don't know if I should do at least six months or a year to try and establish myself.

Truthfully. I've only done six months myself, but I think some others have done a year already.

I may just do six months. Just to put something up there.

Identifying ores is not an easy task unless you have access to particularly high grade ore or you know what the ores look like already. And the anemic energy surplus of early agrarian societies don’t support extensive experimentation with rock-gathering and burning fires.

Clara is just going to have to wait for cultural diffusion from the south to move on to the Bronze Age, and I imagine that is going to be true for most authors here who didn’t start next to Grade-A copper reserves.

Oh yes, hence the assuming part. Identifying the ores is by far the trickiest part, especially for tin. Native copper isn’t exactly common, but your average yokel can probably figure out what it is if they stumble across it. Shiny stuff and all :P
