Nation name: Kingdom of Irelandia
National goals: Industrialize Irelandia, export more goods, improve relations with the empire, improve living conditions for working-class Irishmen, expand Irish infrastructure.
Nation's Leader:
National Government: The Irish national government functions is, in essence, an autocratic one. The executive and head of government is the right honourable lord lieutenant Cecil H. Ward, 3rd Earl of Dudley. H.M. The king of Irelandia appoints a steadholder, in this case the Earl of Dudley, as his executive in Irelandia. The lord lieutenant's power is near-absolute, with it only being slightly obstructed by the Irish parliament, consisting of a house of lords, in which members of the peerage of Irelandia meet, and the house of Commons, in which public representatives gather to discuss acts of parliament. Both the house of commons and the house of lords have the ability to draft laws.
The Irish house of commons is one of the chambers of parliament, and its 32 representatives are elected in their home counties. The members of parliament are elected through census suffrage, which means that only the wealthy and privileged may vote. 26 representatives are part of the Conservative party of Irelandia, 5 are part of the Liberal party of Irelandia, and there is one single MIP (member of Irish parliament) of the Unionist party Irelandia.
Members of the Irish house of lords are not elected, but appointed by the king of Irelandia. There are 47 peers in the kingdom of Irelandia house of lords, and whenever a noble house dies out, H.M. the King appoints somebody as the peer of a specific plot of Irish land, and they are admitted into the house of lords.
The lord lieutenant of Ireland is a position that the king gives to a steadholder of his in Irelandia. This figure has absolute executive power, over all but the Irish Royal Army and the treasury. He can suspend parliament if he deems it as necessary, and can veto acts and bills. He can, however, be fired by HM the king, so the figurehead of the Kingdom of Irelandia is the HM the king.
National history: The rich and fertile fields of Irelandia were roamed by barbarians and heathens a thousand years ago. The Aclusian empire brought peace, prosperity and piety when its ships disembarked on Irish shores in the early 17th century. The people of Irelandia, at that point, spoke Irish to one another, a tongue radically different to Aclusia's English. The island was annexed by the Aclusians, but the people were given loads of personal freedoms and economic benefits from their imperial ties, so rebellions were incredibly rare.
When the nine-years-war came, and the Empire called upon its dominions, Irelandia answered the call, and Irelandia answered with blood. Young Irish boys were sent overseas to fight for king and country, to keep the enemy at bay and to fight for the empire. The mentality of "home by Christmas" changed drastically when young Irishmen started dying in record numbers. Since the Irish were see as inferior to Aclusian servicemen, they were mostly used as cannon fodder, which made the veterans that did return incredibly hardened and experienced.
The kingdom now has to get used to times of peace, as the economy recovers and the lord lieutenant has to give up on the laws that stripped Irish people of their liberties during the war. But now that the young men have returned from Rannoria, the culture is changing, and a movement that requests peaceful transition into a responsible and popular government under a parliamentary monarch has begun to spark up around the country.
Territory: TBD
Language: English (Official), Irish
National Religion: State religion: Anglican (4%), unofficial: Roman Catholic (93%), Presbyterian (3%)
National Culture/Identity: The Irish culture is different from the Irish culture in our timeline. While Ireland in our timeline internalised both a Gaelic identity as well as a political identity of revolt, this doesn't happen in our timeline. The Gaelic revival in the late 1880 and early 1910s is halted by the nine-years-war and the years leading up to the war. The Irish people do not revolt, as there are no ongoing famines or political scandals, and thus the Irish populace, living on fertile lands with a responsible government, thrives. Imagine Irish culture without the tricolour. So: Irish is being spoken by people, some people distrust the English to an extent, although this is far from the norm, and most people see themselves as colonial subjects to the British empire. Comparable to Australia after WW1, but with a slightly larger national identity and cultural background (although the Irish cultural background is limited with no Gaelic revival.)

Political issues: "Rise of the Manticoran Navy, Threats to colonies by Norcourt"*, The Irish social question, The industrialization of Irelandia
