Synopsis
2321 C.E. Pleiades Cluster. Long after the first human seedships arrive in the cluster, the colonies of humanity had struggled and thrived in the inhospitable depths of space. Interstellar empires building on knowledge left behind by their Terran predecessors had been forged, and secrets left behind by strangers long gone had been uncovered and reverse-engineered for humanity’s benefit. The history of the Pleiades was one not too different from old Earth. With war and peace interspaced between one another in its short existence in the stars, the disparate nations of the Pleiades have contributed its fair share to humanity’s grim story.
That was, until Earth returned.
In 2297 C.E., unknown vessels of sleek design hailed the Pleiades in a long forgotten tongue. Calling themselves the Terran Empire, the descendants of humanity’s ruined homeworld and its Solar colonies seek to reclaim the legacy of the old nations of Earth. Slowly, they seized a foothold of the cluster, playing the bickering nations against each other with the promise of power and bounty. With an alliance against Terran aggression fragile and fleeting, the disparate navies of the Pleiades have been swept away one by one. But one ship refused to back down, even in the face of absolute disaster. That ship is our home and the hope of the Seven Sisters.
As cadets of a newly inaugurated cohort of the Athenian Navy, your lives as newly commisioned officers and personnel of the Salamis has taken a turn for the worst, as the Terran Empire moves in to annex the entire Merope region. Faced with the prospect of being rolled into Terra's bloody conquests as part of the Auxilia, you and your new crew mutinied against orders to disarm, escaping from the doomed vessel to commandeer a relic of the early colonial era, the Themistocles. With the odds stacked against you, can you raise the flag of rebellion against the Terran despots? Your odyssey begins here.
Nations and Worlds
While the Pleiades consisted of more than just the principal stars that make up the cluster, the worlds and star systems are generally organized around these stars, named after the Seven Sisters and their parents, Atlas and Pleione. Colonized by the most powerful blocs of old Earth, the Pleiades is as diverse as it is fractious. But the conquests of Alexandros had brought some semblance of unity to the Pleiades. The question is, do the myriad peoples of the colonies want that unity, especially from Terra?

Applications
As a student and cadet in the Athenian Naval Academy, you have come from all across the Pleiades to attend the prestigious institute to better yourself and your home navies. With the breakdown of communication between the vast galaxies of old Earth, most of those attending the academy are natives of the Pleiades. And given tensions between the worlds of Merope and Terra, cadets from the Terran Armed Forces, whether native to the Pleiades or elsewhere in the Terran Empire, will be subjected to heavy restrictions, admitted only via written permission from the Chief of Staff (OOC: OP approval only, so don't spam Terran characters unless you have a very good backstory and reasoning).
