Kallen Rossweiss (Dark Spirit)

Name: Kallen Rossweiss
Nickname/Alias: Absolute Virtue
Appearance:
Image

Gender: Female
Age: 21
Build: 5'5, 111 lbs
Faction: Young Guardians (Acts in own self interests as opposed to White Comet)
Power Classification: Magic

Description of Powers:
  • Void Spears: Replacing her Magical bullets, Kallen summons about a dozen small black glyphs in the air behind her to fire a constant barrage of dark energy.
  • Void Barrier: Replacing her ability to fly, Kallen is impervious to even larger caliber weapons and grenades. Only melee combat, magic, and elemental abilities will bypass the barrier.
  • Void Hunger: Replaces the ability to heal, Kallen will devour weakened metahumans and their powers for a burst of healing and energy to maintain the form. Substantial feeding may unlock new abilities as the Dark Spirit evolves.
  • Void Crush: Summoning a black orb that takes up around a 5/5ft area, it will violently suck everything it can within 40 feet into it. The force of it can obliterate windows, tear doors of its hinges, and slowly drag cars towards it. This lasts for seven seconds before imploding, crushing what it consumed, and erupting in a violent blast of materials.

Weaknesses:
  • Unsustainable Form: An intense form to maintain in combat, it will last for thirty minutes to an hour at most in active combat unless Kallen uses metahumans with <Void Hunger> to sustain it past that (Anywhere from 1-5 hours depending on the strength of the metahuman). Passively, the form can be maintained at its current levels and attunement with Kallen for five hours unless the Dark Spirit relinquishes control early.
  • Evil Never Falters: Unlike the Light Spirit form, this form is much slower. It would be wiser to attack from an advantageous position to maximize the potential for devastating attacks.
  • Light Magic: Like the spirit co-op'ing this body, Kallen is weak to Light Magic when in this form, and it may quickly revert her back to <Kallen Rossweiss (Light Spirit)>.

Equipment:
  • Type 95-C Battlesuit (Alternate): Though lacking the defensive abilities of its Light Spirit form, its new 'wings' will allow for hovering to around 5 feet from the ground or water.
  • Black Valkyria: A spear with a black color scheme. Though usable as a melee weapon, Kallen is not proficient with it in that way, and elects to fire Void Spears from the tip instead.

Alignment: Chaotic Evil
Nationality: Swedish
Hometown: Ystad
Sexuality: Bisexual

Personality: Almost a polar opposite to her usual form, Kallen (Dark Spirit) will often go out of their way to maximize casualties with AoE abilities and fights with no regard for human life, only defeating the enemy. She often refers to enemy metahumans and regular humans as 'Insects', citing the worlds need for a 'reset'. Currently, she's willing to work with her allies to secure victory and not adversely get in their way with her abilities, but she will often treat others coldly. Her emergence all but guarantees collateral damage.
Motivation: Unknown

Biography: See "Kallen Rossweiss (Light Spirit)"

ELIAS NAAN

Name: Elias Naan
Nickname/Alias: Reaper
Appearance:
Image

Gender: Male
Age: 34
Build: 6'3 (190.5 cm) and 220 lbs. (99.8 kg)
Faction: Vector Industries/Bengal Consortium
Power Classification: Genetic

Description of Powers:Adoptive Muscle Memory: Elias can copy any/all movements/actions after seeing it performed once, including acrobatics, martial arts, and other physical stunts. With these skills he can become a master and incredible at what he does, by combining several forms and movements in rhythmic motions instead of using the same thing over. He can copy how a person aims, giving himself incredible marksmanship; however, if he wants to use certain weapons, he would have to watch a person fire that weapon in order to be able to copy it (such as how to fire a rifle, as opposed to how to fire a bow, or how to throw knives or darts).

Shift: Elias can move fluidly on both land and water without it hindering his movements, capable of swinging around lampposts, grinding along rails, and battling enemies with speed and style. Basically using his environment to his advantage. He is also able to implement the movement into his fighting style, allowing him to fluidly connect his physical attacks with coordinated follow ups.

Enhanced Agility: He can go from one motion to another effortlessly, effectively dodge attacks, swing from things easily, sprint, do back-flips, leap across rooftops, and numerous other gymnastic, athletic and martial implements with little to no effort slightly beyond that capable of a normal human.

Enhanced Awareness: He can sense movement, no matter it's size or whether cloaked, invisible or what have you, in a three meter diameter sphere around him.

Weaknesses: He cannot mimic superpowers and is purely limited to what his body is capable of. He has to be able to see the action before being capable of mimicking it. The abilities he learns from his Adoptive Muscle Memory ability will fade with disuse and time; a new skill will fade from his muscle memory after just two days of disuse. A skill that he uses on a daily basis will not fade but will disappear after a week 'learning' the skill. Despite his agility and other abilities he uses, he isn't more strong than a normal human being at peak shape and his size. And a bullet that gets past his armor kills him just as quick as it would a normal human being.

Equipment: Gear for combat.
Two matte-black Desert Eagles modified to fire .500 S&W Magnum AP rounds. In close up fights, he likes knives wielding a couple of these and one of these and even a brace of these. When dealing with metahuman targets, he uses a 14mm custom revolver called Sasha to fire the Null Rounds. But really, he's the weapon. Best not to forget that.

Alignment: true neutral
Nationality: American
Hometown: Oakland, California
Sexuality: Heterosexual

Personality: He is the most intense, profound, and powerful character you will ever likely to meet. Even when he appears self-controlled and calm there is a seething intensity of emotional energy under the placid exterior. He is like the volcano not far under the surface of a calm sea, it may burst into eruption at any moment. But those of us who are particularly perceptive will be aware of the harnessed aggression, the immense forcefulness, magnetic intensity, and often strangely hypnotic personality under the tranquil, but watchful composure of Elias. In conventional social gatherings he is pleasant to be with, thoughtful in conversation, dignified, and reserved, yet affable and courteous; although at times his eyes appear penetrating which make his shyer companions feel naked and defenseless before him.

In his everyday behavior he gives the appearance of being withdrawn from the center of activity, yet those who know him will recognize the watchfulness that is part of his character. He has great self-discipline, because he is able to recognize the qualities in himself that makes him different from other humans, and to know his utterly conventional nature can be used for great good, or great evil. His tenacity and willpower are immense, his depth of character and passionate conviction overwhelming, yet he is deeply sensitive and easily moved by his emotions. His sensitivity, together with a propensity for extreme likes and dislikes makes him easily hurt, quick to detect insult or injury to him and easily aroused to ferocious anger. This may express itself in such destructive speech or action that he makes lifelong enemies by his outspokenness, for he finds it difficult not to be overly critical of anything or anyone to whom he takes a dislike

He harnesses his abundant energy constructively, tempering his self-confidence with shrewdness and his ambition with magnanimity toward others provided he likes them. He relates to fellow warriors only as leaders and can be blunt to those he dislikes to the point of cruelty. In fact he is not above expressing vindictiveness in deliberate cruelty. He is too demanding, too unforgiving of faults in others, perhaps because he is not aware of the shortcomings within himself, and extravagantly expresses his self-disgust in unreasonable resentment against his fellows. He does, however, make an excellent friend, provided that his companions do nothing to impugn the honor of which Elias is very jealous. Part of his negative side of is a tendency to discard friends once they cease to be useful, but he is aware of this, and fights this tendency.

However, should he have cause to view another as a predator, then never was a creature more sensitive or responsive to assumed slights and imagined threats. Open-minded tolerance and relaxed confidence fall away as ego-driven urges swing into gear. He makes a bloody-minded opponent and the dominating qualities are such that he rarely feels appeased with victory unless it involves the total annihilation of the threat. He is well known for sensitivity to his own few emotions, and yet he is far less empathetic to the thoughts and feelings of others; hence he has one of the most fearsome reputations amongst the criminal underworld for exhibiting brutal or extreme behavior. People refer to him as 'bestial', meaning responsive to primordial instincts rather than higher reasoning; and 'feral' because he is considered capable of savage and ferociously destructive traits.
Motivation: To provide a good life for his son and daughter, be a good father to his wife, and retire soon to live out the rest of his days in absolute luxury.

Biography: Elias' father was a Korean immigrant who came over in the 1969 at eighteen. Jae-Sun Naan started off working as a janitor for a hotel. Within twenty years he owned the hotel and had expanded his business to own a chain of them. From there, he expanded to owning hotels, convenience stores, malls, et-cetera. He loved his work and was hardly away from it. It was hardly surprising he met Elias' mother. Ada was also a successful businesswoman, owning a line of convenience stores in Oakland, and she herself was an immigrant, but from Sweden. Somehow, during negotiations, they fell in love after Jae-Sun bought Ada's business. They were married six months after meeting. And three months later, Elias showed up.. do the math.

Elias was actually a pretty normal child, showing minimal teenage angst as those years encroached. He didn't get in to trouble, did reasonably well at school and even got involved in extra-curricular activities. Soccer, baseball, basketball, football - really anything that kept him busy and out of the house. He loved sports and outdoor activity and, having the wealthy parents and being as kind as they were, Elias' desires were indulged. By fourteen, he had discovered martial arts and got involved with a local dojo that taught karate. It was in the dojo, Elias would meet his best friend, Emilia.

From that point on, Emilia and Elias were inseparable. However, Emilia was from the wrong side of the tracks. Where Elias' parents paid for his training at the dojo, she paid for them herself. Elias didn't learn that until later, or the fact that she was pickpocketing to earn that money. Whereas Elias was wanting to learn karate because he had watched a bunch of martial arts movies, Emilia was learning karate to survive. While Elias' parents disproved of his friendship with Emilia, they couldn't separate them.

It was the next year that the Swarm came..

They destroyed Elias' neighborhood in a blink. Somehow Elias survived, discovering his powers when he was trying to survive the attack on his home. Unfortunately, Elias' family was not so lucky. Both of his parents were killed in the ensuing attack and Emilia paralyzed from the waist down. Elias pulled her from the wreckage and carried her to safety while avoiding the Swarm.

The next few years, Elias spent his time in a Youth Volunteer Battalion, assisting in putting out fires, maintaining order on the streets, and serving in an almost para-military occupation. When he turned 18, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps. However, using tests devised by VecIN, Elias' metahuman status was detected and Elias was shipped to a black site in the Rocky Mountains run by Volos and contracted out to the US military. Elias spent the next two years serving as a guinea pig for the research center. Using what they had gleaned from decades of study, they attempted to develop more powerful metahumans.

Project Ikarus started with thirty three subjects, all metahumans of varying strength. During the two years of testing, every single one of them died except for Elias. The Project was considered a failure but Elias was soon attached to the US military as they attempted to fight off the Swarm. He did remarkably well against them, the next seven years fighting them in every area of operations. However, he still retained ties with Volos and, through them, to VecIN. Those ties were exploited by VecIN. Soon, he found himself taking assassination contracts against human and metahuman targets, often equipped with Null Rounds. Due to his high success rate, he garnered the moniker Reaper.

After the Swarm War, Elias was at a loss. However, in to the void now in his life, stepped in Emilia. Within a year of meeting her again, he and Emilia were married in 2018. Later that year, Emilia would given birth to Jason Naan, Elias' firstborn son. Jason was soon followed by Erica, a little girl arriving in 2019. Suddenly, Elias was needing more income. Luckily, he was approached by Luan Kruger. He would serve as an unofficial representative and "tool" for Luan and his interests. Luan promised him, give Luan fifteen years and Elias could retire anywhere with his family and live out the rest of his days in absolute luxury.

Elias has so far given four years over in his fifteen year deal with Luan and, in that time, he has done heinous things that sometimes keep him up at night. But, at the end of the day, he settles into his large home in Oakland next to his beautiful wife after kissing his little ones and tucking them in. At the end of every day, he tells himself that what he does is for the good of his family.

Isn't it?

That works. For this one we're basically heading out to look at a, er... Crash site, it's a rather impromptu team being scrambled.

If you use adaptive muscle memory you'll have to have some way to lose skills over time.

Otherwise your character will end up as a kind of superman who has no powers but can just learn every non powered skill there is.

I'll throw Serge on the Night Whispers team too, and call the signups for that.

Intro will be up tonight. Roster update hopefully tonight too, as well as a recap update maybe.

Situation Report #1

It’s been more than a month and a half since the RP started, and since we’re still going strong and are on pace to pass the threads that this one is a reboot of in terms of activity and overall post count, the thread staff have made the decision to expand things a bit, which was already hinted at a bit earlier in the life of the thread when it was stated that more roles would open up over time. Well, if you were waiting because you wanted one of those villain roles, you won’t have to wait much longer. There’s also a couple other new things from the IC to touch on… And all of it will be covered in this post.

Contact!

Be on the lookout for the third species to appear in this RP. If you’ve been keeping track, the other two would be the Swarm and humanity. The newest intelligent race to appear showed up in the July 3rd time skip interlude called Grey Alert, where NATO air defenses spotted something unknown being pursued by two interceptors from the Swarm. This other life form is decidedly not Swarm, and their vessel was transported spontaneously hundreds of miles across Italy, thanks to a daring gamble involving some dangerous powers. After the crash, we met the inhabitants of the vessel: Seya, a brave warrior, Jurei, a prince here with a purpose, and Hasarei, a crack pilot and level head.

Look out for these three. They’re members of the Kai, which is not only the third species to show up so far, but one that’s locked in combat with the Swarm and fighting to survive. The crash landing is a part of their desperate mission, one that will likely connect with the main plot of the story soon. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean that the Kai are friends, or that these are altruistic aliens who have come to deliver knowledge about their shared enemy with humanity. The Kai are warriors through and through, with a culture that would be unfamiliar to our own when compared to modern day humanity.

There’s sure to be culture clashes, and the appearance of the Kai on Earth could bring back the enemy known as the Swarm potentially, but the Kai could also prove to be a valuable ally if the cards are played right for humanity. What will happen with this? Well, that partly depends on what YOU do in some of the next few encounters with them, with Night Whispers being the first one.

Prodigies...

If you’ve wanted a chance to play a villain or wondered about the lack of villain options in the RP, you’ll have to wait no more. There’s finally an option for those villain characters out there in the form of the Prodigy Initiative, the villainous equivalent of the Young Guardians Program. Founded recently in 2024 as a direct counter to the threat of the Young Guardians Program, the funding of the Prodigy Initiative comes from an unknown source which is just known itself as the Initiative. However, just because the funding is unknown doesn’t mean this faction isn’t a threat.

Some of the early members of management have been poached from large organizations such as the Bengal Consortium and large regional villain groups for the purpose of bringing up a young team to be a threat in the future, one which can go toe to toe with the Guardians. The members of this team are generally in their earlier twenties or are nearly leaving their teens, although there isn’t a hard age range for members. Instructors are older, naturally, but the entire team is known to live at a series of properties located around the world, where they can conduct operations in the field with all of the resources of a home base.

If they do have a true home base, however, then it would likely be considered to be the place known as Ground One, located not that far from Moscow. In a relatively calm region such as Russia, there’s not so much worry about facing heroes here from the Guardians, and of all of the properties, this is the largest one, with a mansion and an airstrip as well as a full vehicle pool and a secure perimeter. If anything, it’s a defensive fortress in plain sight that serves as the nerve center of the Prodigy Initiative.

The larger Initiative itself remains in the shadow and does not reveal faces, but most prospective villains won’t care about that since the pay is far above what they would receive in the Young Guardians. As far as the actual operations go, the main goal of the Prodigy Initiative is training. But that doesn’t mean they don’t act in the field. Survival of the fittest is one way to find the strongest future villains, and the team does head out into the field to fight. There are risks, but it’s also a fast track to becoming a major villain, one that might be attractive to some.

Especially when the Initiative also focuses on the identities of its villains and works with its members to craft identities which will be remembered, specifically with the goal of bringing infamy to them and the organization and helping them become known as ‘first rate’ villains in the future. How does the Initiative recruit? Most of the time, other organizations detect potential villains first and then the Initiative makes a better offer. Apparently, the Initiative has quite the intelligence network for locating potential members. Sometimes, they’ll pull members away from smaller amateur teams, turning the small time criminals there into the proverbial big dogs of the world.

Interested in being part of the first class of the Prodigy Initiative? It’s now possible, and can be done by listing Prodigy Initiative as the faction on your application, for either an instructor or a member. However, there will be limited room for instructors, to keep things somewhat believable. And don’t worry if your member isn’t the strongest or isn’t perfect right away. They won’t be the perfect criminal off the bat, that’s what the Initiative is there to guide them with.

If you need any more information on the subject, feel free to ask the thread staff. The villains will also have their sections of the plot designated by separate arcs, labeled with the prefix V. The first villain arc, for example, will be labeled V1 and will take place during the regular Arc 3.

ELIJAH STEVENS

Name:Elijah Stevens
Nickname/Alias:Contagion
Appearance:
Image

Gender:Male
Age:18
Build:5’8” 93 lbs
Faction: Prodigy Initiative
Power Classification:Genetic
Description of Powers:
Patient Zero: Elijah’s high threat levels come not from brute force or cunning, but his ability to create new biochemical weapons from his own body, whether it be drugs, toxins, or even viruses, Elijah can create his deadly armaments and spread them to everyone he can, whether it be to aid his team or devastate his enemies. This ability, combined with his powerful immune system, also allows him to adopt and copy foreign agents.

Immuno-invulnerability: Through his years of being a lab rat, Elijah’s immune system has evolved beyond comprehension, suppressing any foreign agent within seconds, which is useful for someone who specializes in his field.

Plague Aura: Elijah’s body is basically a walking disease in of itself, and when someone gets in his comfort zone, he can unleash the amalgamated sickness that festers within him at a 10 foot radius all around him, deterring opponents from engaging in melee or a deadly presence in a crowd.
Weaknesses: Elijah’s body, while immune to any toxin or drug, is still frail and physically weak compared to the average person, and while his Plague Aura is an effective deterrent, it won’t take much to beat him in close combat. His creations are indiscriminate in what they inhabit, so Elijah has to keep his allies in mind when distributing his diseases. He cannot make up new contagens on the fly, as they take days in the least to perfect them. While he has powerful close range abilities, his ranged capabilities leave something to be desired, which can be exploited, and makes him more vulnerable in rural areas. His biggest weakness in terms of powers is an airtight suit, which prevents his toxins from affecting the wearer entirely until the suit is compromised.

Equipment: Tox Shot: The Tox Shot is a modified tranquilizer rifle that uses glass ‘darts’ with a rounded metal tip, which causes the dart to shatter on impact and release a highly pressurized gaseous form of his toxins. The Tox Shot has a unique sound as the dart causes a high pitched screeching noise as it flies through the air.
To inform him of what toxin a particular dart carries, Elijah has dyed the gas a specific color to match its purpose and function, though this dye causes the gaseous infection to be visible. Red gas signifies that the dart carries a toxin that forces the overproduction of adrenaline and cortisol, causing those affected to attack anyone nearby in a blind rage. Blue gas signifies that the dart contains a toxin that causes those affected to overproduce melatonin, quickly putting the victim into a natural state of sleep. Yellow gas overstimulates the victim’s nerves, while also shutting down the body’s ability to produce endorphins, causing agonizing pain for the victim. Pink gas is unique in the fact that it is not commonly used in combat, as it instead acts as a highly potent aphrodisiac, and is known to Elijah as ‘Cupid’s Arrow’.

Tox Mines: Similar in function to the Tox Shot, Tox Mines come in two variants, one that is a modified smoke grenade, the other a modified tripmine. Both variants act as a broader form of area denial and feature the same toxins as the Tox Shot. (See Dart Colors for details)
Alignment: Lawful Neutral
Nationality: American
Hometown: Cabell County, West Virginia
Sexuality: Bi (Good luck with that)

Personality: Believe it or not, Elijah is genuinely a kind person, it's just that he considers his illnesses to be blessings as they strengthen the body’s natural defenses in those that survive, and his favorite thing to do is to is give them out to the world like Santa Claus, except his presents are diseases and every day is Christmas. Being a fatalist, Elijah knows that his death will come eventually and takes solace in that fact, but is a very determined person and is not one to simply roll over and give up. Where other villains and heroes pursue their own desires and want to change themselves or the world, Elijah rejects change and personal wants, and instead chooses to be content with what happens around him, and welcomes those who let go and simply just let whatever happens happen. He is a feeling person, and actually considers the feelings of those who receive his gifts and hates to see people suffer, even if they are suffering because of him. He also takes personal bonds very seriously, and sees his fellow students as both friends and family, even if they don’t share that view. Even if he is a villain, he is willing to work with heroes towards a common goal.
Motivation: To see that the human race no longer suffers, one plague at a time.

Biography:The son of two epidemiologists, Elijah lived a normal childhood, well, as about as normal as one can get until the Swarm attacked. One particular attack, one that ended up killing most of Elijah’s extended family, left his parents with a searing hatred for the Swarm, and their passion towards curing the diseases that plagued the Earth had been twisted into a wicked obsession towards utilizing the viruses they received and making them even deadlier, so that they could end the Swarm menace with their weaponized epidemics should they return. To them, rats and mice were not suitable subjects for this kind of work, they needed a human test subject, and luckily for them, they just so happened to have one.

From that day on, Elijah disappeared. A clever lie by his parents lead everyone to believe he had simply run away, but twas not the case. Instead he would spend years in the laboratory of a basement, everyday being agonizing as he faced death with every virus and disease getting stuck in him, only to be faced with more powerful versions on the next, all the while his parents indoctrinating him in the belief that sickness will save mankind, a belief that would be forever ingrained in his mind.

Eventually, Elijah’s body evolved, his immune system becoming nigh unstoppable as his body became a living viral factory, but he stopped getting sick, and the pain of illness ceased to be. Following his parent’s indoctrination, he decided to help his parents by giving back the gift that they gave him. Unlike him however, they could not withstand the barrage of disease he brought upon them, and succumbed days later. Saddened by his parent’s death, he swore to himself that he would make their dream of saving mankind a reality. Few days later, he concocted a supervirus from an influenza strain, and unleashed it on the city of Charleston. Thousands died before a vaccine could be made, and Elijah was considered a terrorist for his actions. Luckily for him, his test attracted the attention of the Prodigy Initiative, who were quick to swoop him up before the Young Guardians could. #HOTApp

ANDREW SCOTT

Name: Andrew Scott
Nickname/Alias: Paralyze

Image
What he looks like without his mask
He usually wears a Electronic Mask showing the image of wide open eyes and unnaturally long smile, the mask is powered by his power ( think of a Daft Punk style mask )

Gender: Male
Age: 23
Build: 1.8 meters 70 kg
Faction: Prodigy Initiative
Power Classification: Genetic

Description of Powers:

-- Electricity Manipulation --
His body produces large amounts of Electricity allowing him to either transmit it through some kind of conductor or just straight up shot lighting out of him, or to just fast charge devices but this allows him to overcharge them or discharge them, this obviously causes him to be unaffected by electric type attacks

Weaknesses:
He is very bad at hand to hand combat relying mostly on his power to stun, incapacitate or stop the action of his enemies heart, also if he is put into a rubber gloves and boots it will nullify his power, also a good 8 liters of water will probably render him unconscious
Equipment: just in case keeps a Colt 1911 in his pocket

Alignment: Chaotic Evil
Nationality: English
Hometown: Guildford
Sexuality: never thought about it, and doesn't care

Personality:Andrew is quick to anger but at the same time, Intelligent enough to see and use any opportunity he sees, and he overconfident in his abilities
Motivation:His reason to stay with Initiative is fairly simple "If I Don't, I'll Get Shot on Sight"

Biography:
-- Early Life --
Born in Guildford, England his parents moved to London, his life was mostly normal up to the school where he was bullied, eventually, he discovered his powers at an early age and from being bullied he ascended to the bully and boy was he good at it, so good in fact even the director was too afraid to speak of him to anyone ( it might be because the director had a heart implant ). When he moved schools to High School he nearly abandoned even pretending to be of good nature and from day one he was "the big bad" in school, but this time the director wasn't afraid to report him, he got put in a Reformatory at least he was meant to be but the car he was transported in, was discharged by him and crashed leaving the drivers unconscious and him on losing, needless to say, the director that reported him was found the next day dead, cause of death, Heart Attack,

-- His Villian Days --
Now he was 16 years old and wanted, what didn't bother him, in fact, he liked it, he decided to make a name for himself, and started robbing most often in a mask that had wide-open eyes and unnaturally big smile ( think Jeff the Killer smile ), he was caught sometimes and most of the time the cops that caught him had a heart attack or just fried brain, but eventually in 2023 he got caught and isolated in a plastic cell, they thought it would stop him, they thought he could have been stopped by this... They were right until 2024 when he spotted an opportunity, he heated up the plastic to the point of near burning and smoke detectors went off, somebody went to get him and got electrocuted ( in the scramble the guard forgot to put on the plastic outfit ) and Andrew just picked the keys and got out of prison. A week later he was contacted by Initiative and accepted the offer when he arrived his identity as Paralyze was created as well as his mask

Gender: Female
Age: 25
Build: 5'7 ft, 122 lbs. Athletic and acrobatic.
Faction: Solo
Power Classification: Magic?

Description of Powers:
Darkness Manipulation: Filia Umbrarum can take nearby shadows and manipulate them to her will. Able to create physical constructs out of them. These constructs can be very sharp and malleable but are also brittle and can be shattered by the force of a bullet or other heavy weapon. She can also heal wounds and injuries in shadows and dark places.

Umbrageous Teleportation: Filia Umbrarum can enter shadow patches and exit other nearby shadow patches.

Weaknesses: Sunlight Aversion:The biggest drawback of her powers is extreme sensitivity to extreme light. Thus, she is weak against light magic, and light weaponry. Filia also must avoid direct sunlight, prone to terrible burns in the bright hot sun.

Equipment: Keeps a parasol on her person at all times during the day to keep her from sunlight, has countless tools for the art of theft including lock-picks and a grappling gun, and drives a black Volkswagen by day, drives a motorcycle by night. Her cat suit also protects her from sunlight and keeps it on her person most of her time.
Alignment: True Neutral
Nationality: American
Hometown: New York City
Sexuality: Pansexual

Personality: Filia Umbrarum is, during the day, a sweet, kind, lovable and nerdish young woman who loves helping people and making friends. However, at night, she's also a kleptomaniac who loves to steal from others simply for sport and fun.Though she does have a Code of Honor, choosing to never kill without cause or exploit those less fortunate than herself. That doesn't stop her from stealing from other villains or heros though, seeing that as a bonus from foiling truly evil plans, and aiding allies.
Motivation: Lives a double life of crime driven by sheer kleptomania and the thrill of the chase. Her crimes are more for sport than actual greed or necessity.

Biography: A young lady, born into a wealthy family in New York City, Fiia Umbrarum lived a happy life, though she lived in seclusion away from sunlight. A trait that has been in her family for generations as they all inherited an unspeakable power over darkness. Filia's such powers developed quickly from a young age, and even more so during puberty. With these powers, she had inspirations to becoming a hero and joined a small super hero team for a few years after graduating from private school. However, her constant trouble making, with an addiction to stealing, that has gotten her in jail in the past, lead to expulsion.

Such a drawback didn't keep her from gaining success in life as she grew in ambition. Filia inherited her family’s company and became a powerful businesswoman. Yet, in the meantime, the young lady turned criminal thief out of kleptomaniac sport, taking on the alternate identity as Lady Tenebrous. With her cunning and skill, Filia has outwitted heroes and rival villains alike over the years. Despite her villain streak, though, she still tries to fulfill her inspiration to becoming a hero, following a certain code of honor, stealing only from those who could afford it, and especially those who deserved it. All the while, the thief have fought and taken down truly evil villains, even teaming up with an occasional hero. More over, Filia, occasionally sought to put her stolen goods to “good” use for the what she believes, and sometimes have proven to be, for the betterment of mankind.

But is there anything else to him?

His motivation is just boredom which doesn't really hold up for someone looking to spend years training to become a major villain, and an organization would be reluctant to invest in someone whose only motivator is being bored, as they could very easily switch moods and feel like going off and doing something else.

The only real character trait shown in this app is that he doesn't have emotions, which is just a trait, not a full personality in itself.

She's going to have a rough time at the Prodigy Initiative then since all members are expected to learn combat skills and be able to fight to at least some extent, even if it's not their top specialty.

She's also expected to be able to hang with gangsters, killers, morally questionable hitmen, potential sociopaths, and others of that type, without complaining too much about not fitting in.

Simply, such powerful toxins are going to put a heavy strain on Elijah’s body as it processes and has to resist succumbing to such potent effects, meaning that he can make very little of toxins such as VX in one go, and trying to in quick succession will end up killing him through exhaustion, as Elijah’s body is not that strong aside from his immune system. The range limits on his power go as far as his method of using it, but that also affect his range as he may simply be too weak to carry his method, for his rifle the range is about 270 meters at the most.

NINA BRYENS

Name: Nina Bryens
Nickname/Alias: N/A
Appearance:
Image

Gender: Female
Age: 18
Build: 46kg, 160cm
Faction: Prodigy Initiative
Power Classification: Genetic
Description of Powers:
Adaptive Evolution: Nina's personal form of biokinesis. Subconsciously evolves adaptions against anything deemed a 'problem' provided she survives whatever hurts her in the first place, with more survivals and experience against the same thing leading to increased resistance building against that thing. Starting adaptions are immunity to starvation, sleep deprivation and dehydration, underwater breathing via gills within the mouth, photosynthesis via the skin (adaption against lack of oxygen), immunity to all known diseases and toxins, regeneration, reinforced skeleton/skin, two extra hearts and a large-scale reduction in number of pain receptors.

Weaknesses:
Material: Nina's biokinesis requires biomass to work with to modify biology; this biomass can come from the modified person, from Nina, or from anything living in skin contact with Nina, but she is limited in the amount of biokinesis she can do by this quantity of biomass. Her Adaptive Evolution also consumes biomass to make its adaptions.

Form Above All: Nina's Adaptive Evolution isn't exactly controlled. If injured in the wrong ways, her adaptions will likely pile up and up until she barely looks human any more with all that entails.

Equipment: Nina carries a pair of knives and a Skorpion SMG.

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Nationality: English
Hometown: Dover
Sexuality: Doesn't know.

Personality: Nina is a rather quiet and calm, almost serene, person. She rarely talks, preferring to keep to her own company, finding others boring or uninteresting most of the time, rarely feeling emotions relating to anything at all. 'Most of the time' is important, however. When her interest is stirred, which is almost always by suffering, either hers or someone else's, she doesn't care which, all those emotions that were numb rush back to her in full force. Needless to say, she quite enjoys pain, both inflicting it and, when she could feel it, having it inflicted upon her. She's intelligent, but not because she cares for knowledge; rather, because she had nothing to do bar learn. Most physical sensations are heavily dulled by her power.
Motivation: Nina considers herself a cameraman to the world; she has no greater desire than to watch with a smile on her face as the world turns and unfortunate things happen to other people or even to her, just savouring the rush of feelings for those brief few minutes.

Biography: Nina was born in Dover, and had what can be best described as a quite throughly boring childhood. Her parents ran an off-license and had a decent amount of money, enough to live decently comfortably if not in luxury. She isn't entirely sure when her powers appeared; maybe at birth, maybe later on. She doesn't remember being injured or breaking any bones at any point, which doctors called a 'miracle' multiple times which she retroactively blamed on her power.

Nina's power was revealed only after she should have drowned, having been dragged out to sea while swimming. She returned perfectly fine, although now able to breathe underwater and with a few other adaptions. Her parents naturally freaked out, and set out to find someone to 'fix' their perfect daughter.

They didn't find anyone, but people found them. After verifying the extent of Nina's power, a large medical conglomerate sought to recruit Nina as a researcher for them, using her powers for their profit. Nina's parents rejected the offer, partially at Nina's request to try and live a normal life, partially because the company wasn't going to 'fix' Nina's powers.

Unfortunately, profit overrode morals, and in a well-coordinated operation Nina's parents suffered a fatal car crash while Nina was abducted on the way home from school that same day. She spent the next three years as a human test subject. The conglomerate infected her with diseases, poisons, toxins, subject her to blunt trauma, tested their new drugs and later cosmetics and other substances on her. Her power pushed through it all, and through observation of what her power did, they were able to create designs for miracle cures.

Nina could have escaped, her power allowing her to simply run and survive; but the promise that she'd change the world for the better and that they'd let her go once they had a universal cure-all persuaded her otherwise. Nina took to reading in her spare time between tests out of boredom, and with nothing else to do, rapidly devoured book after book, soaking up the knowledge. Her power adapted her to the isolation; emotions were dampened, having been causing more damage than help to her psyche. After three years worth of medical testing, the conglomerate stopped testing. Weeks passed, with Nina left alone in her cell but for her books, before she was informed that she was being transferred elsewhere, as she was no longer needed for the project. At that betrayal, rage was re-evolved, and Nina went on a near-suicidal bloody rampage. Her means of killing started off improvised; unarmed combat, improvised weapons, moving up through melee weapons and firearms as she carved a path through the facility, killing and destroying as she went.

And then she escaped into the cold night, and she wandered, aimless, lost. She lived among the homeless and downtrodden, finding their misfortune to be amusing, and for the first time in many years, she laughed when she saw someone die a slow, painful death in front of her. Pain was the only thing that still held meaning to her, whether it be hers or someone else's.

The Initiative found her on a nameless street in Berlin, rumours of a superpowered killer who would not die bringing them searching for her. She went along willingly, because it was... Different. Not interesting, but on the way to being interesting.

Must she be part of prodigy? I said she's solo... if she must I was thinking she'd be infiltrating prodigy and sabotaging their machinations... and she actually is good at combat. Forgot to fill out her build.

Ah, I missed that part.

Well, it's not against the rules to go solo, but it's highly discouraged. The reason is that if you go independent, you're basically out of the loop for everything that's happening unless you have prior plans, and you won't be able to do much other than RP by yourself.

THE WALKING WASTELAND

Name: Ashley Angel
Nickname/Alias: The Walking Wasteland
Appearance:
Image

Gender: Female
Age: 18
Build: 5'5 ft, 118 lbs
Faction: Progidy Initiative
Power Classification: Genetics

Description of Powers:

Filth Manipulation

Angel can create, manipulate, shape, transform, etc. any matter that is rotten or filthy (grime, dirtiness, stains, grunge, etc.) and has control over dead and decomposed matter; the user can also control moldy and mildewed matter, spoiled, rancid food, fetid water, polluted air, urine, vomit and feces.

She can induce rot at will upon physical contact. Angel
can also induce such foul conditions that makes water filled with bacteria and unsafe, making air (including breath) stifling and smelly, inducing rot and putrefaction in organic matter or even inducing bacterial infection on open wounds.

Mold Manipulation

Angel can create, shape and manipulate mold, a large and taxonomically diverse number of fungal species where the growth of hyphae results in discoloration and a fuzzy appearance, especially on food. She can cause fungi to grow, move/attack or even rise from the soil and "walk", mutate fungi by rearranging DNA structure, etc.

Extreme immunity

Angel's biology makes her immune to all poisons, venoms and toxins, as well as all diseases and illnesses.

Regeneration

Angel has the ability to rapidly heal wounds and injuries, being genetically made of the filth and trash that she manipulates, as well as the ability to regenerate lost of body parts. The time this takes, though, varies depending on the damage. Cuts can heal within seconds and bullet holes and stab wounds takes about a minute, but limbs can take hours and if blown up, will take days or even a week to fully regenerate back into her full body.

Drawbacks and Limitations:

  • Angel can only make things rot and decay upon physical contact. She has to actually touch someone in order to induce rottenness into her victims.
  • She can only create mold and filth at a fast pace within a five foot distance. Any further, the creation of filth and mold will be very slow, depending on distance and size of target. For example, it would take about fifteen minutes to decay a car, but around a minute to decay a human target.
  • Also, while she is hard to kill due to her regeneration, it is quite easy to incapacitate and capture her, as she is still as capable of feeling pain from her injuries as any normal human. A bullet to the head will put her into a coma.
  • Angel can only control no more than five mold creatures at a time.
Weakness: Her mold and filth is extremely vulnerable to fire, as well as herself, developing a deep fear for flames. In fact, fire is the one thing that can ultimately destroy her permanently, preventing regeneration, depending if you manage to incinerate every last piece of her.

Equipment: Often dresses in pink and carries a parasol. Keeps weapons on her person including a pistol and several knives. Has plenty of parasols made with gadgets that act as blades and guns.
Alignment: Chaotic Evil
Nationality:N/A
Hometown: N/A
Sexuality: Experimentive

Personality: Happy go lucky girl, Angel Ashley is a lovable friend to have and great to party with. This is all but a ruse though and she is not to be trifled with. Behind her friendly, lovable nature lies a true sadistic psychopath with motives as foul as the garbage she creates. She is cunning and cruel all with that happy smile on her face. Despite it all, Angel is truly obsessed with friends, even if dangerously so.
Motivation: Partly a psychotic and twisted obsession with making friends, but also partly driven by her "programming".

Biography: A genetic experiment gone wrong, Angel Ashley was created to be the perfect biological weapon by a group of terrorists. The group’s name is currently unknown, but was made up of mad scientists and ruthless figures. As a fetus, her biological traits were genetically altered and enhanced to overwhelm her foes with filth and mold. Angel was raised in isolation, seen more as a lab experiment than an actual child. However, she still tried making friends with her creators, leading to a pathological obsession after rejection. Her powers were developed through a series of tests that her to discover the full use of her powers, even the ability to make her own “friends” out of mold. She was trained in combat and armed with a series of weapons of parasol themes.

After years of experimentation, the group was ready to release their new weapon upon humanity. Her look of innocents made her perfect for deception. Angel, at the age of fifteen, however, had other plans which she conjured up for a long while. The girl turned on her creators, killing then with the suffocation of filth, the touch of rotteness, and brutality of her monsters. It was this time as the world Governments caught wind of the terrorist group, but when they came to stop them, they found not a single survivor. Angel escaped, free and unleashed upon the globe.

THOMAS WILLIAMS

Name: Thomas Williams
Nickname/Alias: The Mercenary
Appearance:
Image

Gender: Male
Age: 24
Build: 75kg, 182 cm.
Faction: Prodigy Initiative
Power Classification: External

Description of Powers:
Walking Armory: Thomas has an unusually large amount of weapons on his person, thanks to specially developed technology just for him by his mentor, Dr. Vogel. These weapons will be further discussed in the Equipment section.

Weapons Expert: Thomas has extreme weapons proficiency with the technology provided for him, making him a deadly opponent when using these equipment.

Weaknesses:

Crippling Overspecialization: Thomas is unable to use any other equipment other than those provided for him by Dr. Vogel, meaning that if he is somehow denied the use of his weaponry, Thomas is completely helpless against any opponent.

Cast from Calories: Thomas' equipment is somehow powered by his body's energy level, and thus he is unable to use the equipment when he is hungry.

Sickly Prodigy: Having been born into poverty and growing up malnourished, Thomas possesses a sickly body that's weaker than than of the average human. As such, he doesn't have much strength, his bones are brittle, and his immune system is weaker. This makes him extremely susceptible to diseases, and thus he is vulnerable to power/magic that specifically targets the human body. This also affects his combat capability when using melee weapons, as his blows are weaker and his movements are much slower.

One at a Time: Due to the way the Marks are programmed, Thomas can only use one of them at a time. He has to deactivate the current Mark he is using before he is able to switch to another one. A cunning enemy can use the time it takes to switch to defeat Thomas, provided they can defeat him quickly enough.

Weak Stamina: Due to his body's natural weakness, Thomas possesses little stamina and tires out easily. This affects his melee combat capabilities as anything that he can't defeat quickly enough can simply wait for Thomas to tire out.

Equipment:
Thomas' weapons, called "Marks" by his mentor, are energy weapons that are somehow powered by Thomas' energy levels. These weapons are usually in closed compact form, in the form of a small metal square the size of a human palm. When activated, however, these weapons expand to their full-size, allowing Thomas to make full use of their capabilities. These weapons somehow possess strange abilities, though whether or not these are by advanced technology or magic, Thomas doesn't know, for Dr. Vogel took the secrets of their construction to his grave. The weapons themselves are hard to destroy, and can only be used by Thomas due to being locked to his genetic signature. The Marks are also capable of repairing themselves, although this can only be achieved when in closed form, and a damaged Mark cannot be used while in repair.

Melee Weapons:
Mark 6 Energy Sword "Archangel" - This energy sword is unusual in that the blade itself is somehow made of extremely powerful heat, allowing it to cause burns at close proximity. It is also able to adjust its size at will, ranging from a dagger shaped size to a long sword 5 feet long. Strangely, too, the entire weight of the blade is concentrated solely on the hilt, meaning that the sword is unusually light despite its size. It cannot be negated by water either, since it causes water surrounding it to evaporate almost immediately.

Mark 3 Energy Spear "Longinus" - an 8 foot long energy spear. It seems to possess the same strange abilities as Archangel, though it does not have the ability to expand itself. The blade of the spear is 1 foot long. However, it does have one different ability: the blade of the spear negates other energy weapons, allowing it to bypass energy shields and temporarily disable other energy weapons that have been struck by it.

Long Ranged Weapons:
Mark 38 Grenade Launcher - a six shot cylindrical grenade launcher that fires powerful energy shots, with the same destructive power as an ordinary grenade launcher. It takes 15 seconds to reload once all shots have been spent. Its special ability is its ability to fire small guided rockets instead of energy shots, though it uses nearly twice as much energy when using its ability.

Mark 39 Long Range Cannon - a six foot long energy cannon capable of firing extremely powerful energy beams. The cannon is also capable of firing short bursts of beams rather than one powerful long one, but this sacrifices power for firing speed. It takes 30 seconds to reload between shots. Its special ability is its ability to enhance its penetration capability, enabling to pierce even the thick armor of mechas. However, it takes thrice as long to reload when using this ability.

Mark 35 Gatling Cannon - An energy mini gun capable of firing nearly 6000 rounds a minute, holding enough energy for nearly 5 minutes of sustained firing. However, it takes the longest of all the weapons to reload, taking 5 minutes. Its special ability is the ability to negate recoil, allowing Thomas to fire it with deadly accuracy without worrying about recoil effects. However, it renders Thomas unable to move when using this ability.

Mark 40 Assault Rifle - an energy assault rifle capable of firing 30 energy shots before needing to recharge, with an under barreled energy grenade launcher. Unlike most of the other weapons, the Mark XL does not need time to recharge, though it has shorter range and less power than most of the other weapons, having only a range of 300 meters. It has no special abilities.

Mark 41 Handgun - an energy handgun capable of firing 8 shots. It has the shortest range, at 25 meters, and the least power of all the other energy weapons, and is typically only used as a weapon of last resort. It does not need time to recharge, though. Like the Assault Rifle, it has no special abilities.

Alignment: Lawful Evil
Nationality: British by birth, South African by residence
Hometown: Johannesburg, South Africa
Sexuality: Heterosexual

Personality: Thomas is a quiet, lonely individual, who prefers to keep to himself unless he is interested in something. He is brutally honest, never sugarcoating his words and always saying what he thinks he should say, despite what others might think of his views. While capable of feigning multiple personalities, he switches to his default one when it is not needed. Thomas lives by a code of honor, though mainly what it means, only he knows. What is known about it, however, is that he will never betray those he works for, nor will he ever compromise on a mission once it is given. However, when seeking revenge, Thomas turns into a bloodthirsty sadist, doing anything he can to prolong the suffering of his poor victims before he kills them. This includes the use of torture, murdering the victim's loved ones, and any other method he can think of. Thomas is also deeply calculating, preferring not to engage in situations where there is significant risk of failure.

Motivation: His first motivation is money, for two reasons. One, so that he can never experience the hardships of poverty again. Two, so that if the time came for him to settle down and have a family, his children would not go through the same hardships he did during his childhood. His second motivation is revenge against those he feels have caused his pain and grief, and he will stop at nothing to make sure he gets his vengeance.

Biography: The third and youngest child of a poor British immigrant family, Thomas Williams was born the only son to the formerly prestigious Williams family. Formerly wealthy, the family had been brought to economic ruin due to the extravagance of Thomas' parents, who cared only about satisfying their own selfish desires while neglecting their children. At the young age of 5, Thomas was already being forced to work as a beggar on the streets of Johannesburg, in order to earn enough money to feed himself and his elder sisters. Even then, he and his siblings usually ate only a single meal a day, for their parents would take the money they've earned and spend it on gambling and alcohol. This all came to a head when Thomas was 8 years old, when his parents sold him and his siblings to a human trafficker to pay off their debt. It was there that Thomas was bought by Dr. Ivan Vogel, an insane scientist who bought Thomas so he can have a lab assistant. Sadly enough, Thomas never saw his sisters again, and would later discover that they had perished inside the walls of a brothel in rural South Africa.

With Dr. Vogel came a new life for Thomas. The scientist was the perfect example of how the line between genius and insanity was blurred, and when not rambling about conspiracy theories and people only he can see, Dr. Vogel was working on different scientific projects for the highest bidders. During Thomas' time as a lab assistant, Dr. Vogel gave him an informal education, and he was able to learn a lot by observing and helping the mad scientist in his work. Thomas and Dr. Vogel also spent most of their time travelling to remote parts of the world, where Dr. Vogel would conduct his secret research projects. They would also accompany various mercenary groups in their missions to steal some research and technology, and it was then that Thomas came to admire the life of a mercenary. It became his choice of profession, something Dr. Vogel supported when he found out. By this point in time, the boy and the scientist developed a strong father-son relationship, something they both needed in their lives.

Knowing that Thomas didn't have the capabilities of becoming a soldier, Dr. Vogel instead devoted his time to creating various energy weaponry for Thomas' use, though he kept exactly what he was doing a secret from Thomas. Thomas himself never bothered to find out exactly what Dr. Vogel was building for him, since he was busy working out and training himself. It all came to an end when Thomas turned 18, where Dr. Vogel finally presented the Marks to Thomas, allowing him to fulfill his dream of being a mercenary. Dr. Vogel then released him from his care, allowing Thomas to set foot into the world as his own man. Thomas spent the first year of his freedom familiarizing himself with his new weaponry and building up his reputation as an elite mercenary, his weapons allowing him to become a one-man army of sorts. He also began accumulating his wealth, planning on finding his sisters and buying their freedom so they can live once again as a family with Dr. Vogel as their father-figure.

However, fate would be cruel to Thomas. On his second year of freedom, he received a letter from Dr. Vogel, telling him to come back immediately. When he did, he found the mad scientist on his death bed, dying from cancer that he never told Thomas about. Dr. Vogel then bequeathed one last gift to Thomas, the location of the the human trafficker that had sold Thomas to him. Saying their goodbyes to each other, Dr. Vogel passed away, leaving Thomas ever more determined now to find the location of his sisters. As per the Doctor's dying wishes, all of the research the Doctor had accumulated was burned, including the schematics for the Marks weaponry, ensuring that they would be lost forever to time.

Tracking down the human trafficker, he was able to find out the location of the criminal syndicate that had bought his sisters, but it was too late. When he had arrived, he discovered that his sisters had perished years ago, the victims of sexual abuse from their clients and owners. In a fit of rage, proceeded to murder every living soul inside the brothel, then he tracked down and killed the members of the syndicate that owned the brothel. Not yet satisfied, he also killed the human trafficker that sold him and his sisters, and finally, he murdered his own parents, all in order to avenge himself for the suffering they brought onto him.

He was in the process of preparing to hunt down the members of the criminal cartel that his parents owed money to when he was found by the Prodigy Initiative, who sought to recruit him into its ranks as a Prodigy. At first, Thomas refused, but when he was promised a large amount of money and the complete list of the people he was looking for, he signed up in a heartbeat.

That's uh...

A bit similar to the Young Guardians director, don't you think. Maybe?

Other than that, what limits him from finding something powerful just one time and over relying on that?
