Argus Metahuman File

Name: Andreas Jouno
Alias: "Original Sin", or more commonly "The Man with the Starfire Gun"
Age: Unknown. Estimated at least a century.
Alignment: Villain
Gender: Male
Image

Powers:
  • Solar Aura: The Man with the Starfire Gun can project an aura of "solar energy" around himself. This mainly acts as a defensive tool, incinerating projectiles and attackers if they step inside.
  • Solar Smithing: The Man with the Starfire Gun is able to forge weapons out of what seems to be pure starfire, but is mostly a simple - but effective - magical spell.
  • Enhanced Physical Traits: The Man with the Starfire Gun has generally enhanced physical traits. His strength, speed, dexterity, and reaction time are all several degrees above a peak Human.
  • Resurrection: The Man with the Starfire Gun is able to resurrect after being killed. He retains his memory, but his wounds do not heal past dense scar tissue.

Drawbacks & Limitations:
  • Age: The Man with the Starfire Gun has been worn down by age. Though he hasn't died many times, he knows that the more times he resurrects, the less capable he will be. This resurrection, as well, is entirely dependent on how much anger and drive he can produce. If he begins to lose resolve, the contract he made may become invalid, and he could die permanently.
  • Solar Time Limit: The Man with the Starfire Gun can only maintain his Solar Aura for a few seconds before the strain on his body becomes too great to handle. This means he needs to time it well if he wants to perform it effectively.

Weaknesses: N/A

Equipment and weapons:
  • The Starfire Gun
"This weapon is yours. Until the last word has been spoken, and their last breath has been taken." This weapon is the magnum opus of The Man's work. It is his tool, but much more than that. Combining his solar smithing skill with the precision and mastery of a tinker who specializes in firearms, he created a weapon that fires weaponized plasma that is contained, if barely, by a strong electromagnetic field generated along the barrel. This weapon is capable of incinerating most enemies with a single shot, but cannot fire forever. It needs approximately 2 seconds to recharge every eight shots.

BACKGROUND

Nationality: Finland.
Hometown: A small farming town outside Reykjavik.

Personality: The Man with the Starfire Gun is an incredibly driven individual. He rarely lets distractions or side-objectives get in the way of his true goal. That being said, he is not violent when he doesn't have to be. He is only truly willing to do combat when he finds he truly has no other option, or when he finds one of his "targets". Sociable and friendly when not on the hunt. the Man with the Starfire Gun rarely likes revealing his identity as a villain, and would rather simply let his actions speak as to what alignment people would consider him as. Despite his silent nature, the Man with the Starfire Gun is consistently raging. He is, quite literally, kept alive by his anger.

Bio:
"How many friends have you buried?"

There are whispers among some hero and villain groups about unknown variables in the ever-persistent war among those who would use their power for good and those who would not. Despite the fact that many think it is a war of black and white, of two completely opposite ideologies, they are wrong. There is a very wide grey area where many heroes and villains reside, without even knowing it. This area has become the norm in such a complex and intertwined world. No villain is completely evil. And no hero is a paragon of justice.

This is the area in which the Man with the Starfire Gun resides. He is the Unknown Variable. There is nothing more he desires than to simply wipe metahumans from the planet, including himself if he must. He is the ultimate balancing act between light and dark, and he has kept this balance for many years. But he was not always this way.

In a small village in the countryside of Finland, in 1921, a boy was born to a poor family of farmers. They raised him to be a modest child, but a hard worker. They did everything they could to protect him from the dreary realities of their existence, and the short but sometimes violent lives they lived. Initially, they were successful. He grew up to be a strong young man, someone who would carry on the family name with pride and make a honest living for himself. He was, however, called upon to defend him country against the Russians when they invaded his . Their wars for conquest would fill up much of his young life. His first glimpse of carnage was in the Winter, where he experienced combat in its most brutal form. This was the crucible that eventually sparked the rage within him. A Russian metahuman slaughtered much of his unit, one that was a purported "protector of the realm" in Russia. This metahuman was praised as a paragon, a savior of men and women alike. The Man with the Starfire Gun watched this "hero" rip his closest friends to shreds.

The Man with the Starfire Gun buried them the same day. He promised himself that if he ever saw that hero again, The Man would give him his due. This promise maintained itself for the next several years as he marched through war, watching more and more of his friends perish. Every single man who fell beside him, he buried himself. There were other heros and villains he encountered along his path, none of whom showed him anything redeemable. The atrocities they committed in the name of good, or evil, could not go unpunished. The Man felt like an insect, only waiting to be crushed underneath the boot of something greater and much more powerful. One day, The Man found himself in the path of the metahuman who had sparked his rage in the beginning. The metahuman struck down The Man without a second glance, and moved on. With his dying breath, The Man asked for the power to live on. He pleaded to be given the strength to pay back what had been done

He received his answer. Someone, or something, gave him exactly what he wanted. The Man awoke three days later and found something had changed within him. He was born anew, and he strong. He was capable of harnessing the Sun. And so off he went, to hunt this man. When he found him again, he summoned a revolver of starfire and incinerated the man.

Since then, the Man with the Starfire Gun has hunted. His pact has been maintained: so long as he rages and pursues metahumans in any form, he will never fall in battle.

If you ever cross paths with with a man holding a strange looking gun, whose eyes reveal untold anger, it would do you good to walk the other way.
