Brief Explanation of Government:

Sections I through IV of Chapter 2 provide that "THE COMMONWEALTH or STATE of VERMONT, shall be governed, hereafter, by a Governor, Deputy Governor, Council, and an Assembly of the Representatives of the Freemen of the same". It vests executive power in the governor and council, and legislative power in the House of Representatives, and requires a court of justice to be established in every county.

Of course, with the total independence of Vermont from the now non-existing United States of America, those titles were changed into President, Vice-President, Senate, and House of Representatives. The government is bicameral, split into the last two parts of the previous sentence.

Relations Vermont is considered to be this small buffer state somewhere in New England, and thus, tends to be looked over by most of its neighbors, thinking them to be of little relevance to the world at large. The nation has kept warm relations with the Canadians, New Hampshire, Massachusets, and the CSA, mostly due to a need to not be absorbed by any of these nations.

Brief Description of your people: A bunch of industrialized people highly loyal to the nation. They tend to be quaint and content people, preferring to be left alone, ignorant of the world at large, though if ever some arrogant foreigner decides to say "This land is mine", he better shield his ass for these people of the Green Mountains are zealots in the defense of their little country.
Religion: Christianity, 99.9% of people are Protestant, a low number are Catholics, and even lower in numbers is the odd Jewish man hanging about.
Ethnicity: Overwhelmingly white, with the occasional black man, free or no, scattered about. Even rarer is the American Indian.
Main/Accepted Culture(s): Anyone white, and people that don't cause trouble. If a Turk were to be dropped here, he would be accepted so long as he doesn't cause any trouble, such as being a criminal, or violence, or gang behavior.

Brief Description of your Economy: Agriculture, timber, fishing, hunting, and mining. These are the five backbone industries of the Republic, and with growing industrialization, Vermont will make sure these five industries will be improved upon.
Goals: Survive as long as possible, take over New Hampshire, be guaranteed by the British, and possibly unite the New England area if the stars are right.
History: After 1724, the Province of Massachusetts Bay built Fort Dummer near Brattleboro, as well as three other forts along the northern portion of the Connecticut River to protect against raids by Native Americans farther south into Western Massachusetts. After 1749, Benning Wentworth, the Royal Governor of New Hampshire, granted land to anyone in a land granting scheme designed to enrich himself and his family. After 1763, settlement increased due to easing security concerns after the end of the French and Indian Wars. The Province of New York had made grants of land, often in areas overlapping similar grants made by the Province of New Hampshire; this issue had to be resolved by the King in 1764, who granted the land to New York, but the area was popularly known as the New Hampshire Grants. The "Green Mountain Boys", led by Ethan Allen, was a militia force from Vermont that supported the New Hampshire claims and fought against the British during the American Revolution.
Of course, with the failure of the Articles of Confederation, the Republic has stayed independent, and through time, has become this little fortress nation in the New England area. Nothing of note has occurred to this nation, as it has mostly stayed out of any conflict as much as possible, and when war is needed, they only send a token force (nobody has invaded the republic yet, so no need for mass mobilization).
