January 10th, 2018, Adam Banks is admitted to a hospital in New York City suffering numerous symptoms of serious nature. Bleeding of the eyes and ears, severe fever with sweating and delirium. Within twelve hours of Banks’ admission, seven hundred more people are admitted in New York alone, with others in numerous other cities across the nation. Within twenty-four hours there are over twenty thousand people suffering from this same illness in New York. In Bridgeport there are five thousand cases, in Boston there are roughly two thousand cases, and there are also several hundred cases in other cities such as San Francisco, Seattle, and Houston. Adam Banks, age thirty-two, patient zero, is the first to die in Bellevue Hospital Center in Manhattan. Banks’ died roughly forty-eight hours after his admission, the bleeding having subsided, however his fever was in lethal ranges and his brain showed major lesions to the cells and he was reported to have suffered from seizures within his final hour of life.



The scientific and medical communities conjoined to tackle this virus, this never before seen strain. Within ten days since Adam Bank’s admission (January 10th), a rounded overall total of nine-hundred thousand people in America were reportedly infected with this new virus. By this time, ten thousand people had died from infection. Though minor symptoms varied, all those infected shared the same primary symptoms; bleeding eyes and ears, lethal fever, brain lesions, and sporadic seizures. Signs of this new infection began appearing in other nations as well. The UK, France, Denmark, Mexico, Canada, and Brazil were the first nations to publicly announce signs of the virus within their populace. Many nations, such as Iraq, North Korea, Cuba, and India, began immediately shutting down their land borders, airports and seaports.



By January 30th, the death toll in the United States had risen to seven hundred thousand, and the infection count was at twenty-five million people. Hospitals and medical centers were overwhelmed as the infection and death count rose. Many major cities such as New York, Houston, and Los Angeles were placed under quarantine due to high infection and death rates.
Word was soon released that many countries in South America, Africa, and Asia were hit with the infection as it seemed to cross over land borders despite major efforts by authorities.
This lead to the theory that the pandemic was airborne, which lead to mass global panic. It was also theorized that the virus may be carried by birds or insects.

The infection continued to spread, despite the best efforts of scientists and doctors, no vaccine could be successfully developed. By February 5th, most of the nations of Europe now hosted the infection too, which had been recently named Omega-13. However, nations with extreme cold climates (such as Finland, Norway, Sweden, and parts of Canada) all reportedly had little-to-no presence of Omega-13. This would lead to mass immigration into these nations, which would later cause Finland and Norway to close sea and air ports.



By February 15th, over seventy million people in the United States were infected, and the death count has risen to forty-five million. Most major cities have been quarantined or sectioned off, and anarchy has begun to erupt across the country.



Other nations in South America, Asia, Africa, and the East are engulfed in turmoil. Religious groups cry “judgement day”, conspiracy theorists rage about secret societies and bio-terror, and many nations begin to suspect one another and tensions rise. Prime suspects in regards to this being a “biological attack” are North Korea, Russia, China, and numerous terror cells. Others heavily suspect the few remaining nations that have zero signs of Omega-13, such as New Zealand, Israel, Greenland, and Madagascar for example.

The date is now February 25th, 2018, and the world is engulfed in chaos, global anarchy looms as the fate of the human race hangs in the balance. As a player, there are two paths for you to take; the Nation or the Survivor. It is up to you to weather the storm and see things through to the other side of this dark tunnel. Wether as a lone survivor, or a national leader.

Omega-13 is a highly contagious viral strain that directly attacks the brain. It is introduced into the bloodstream and the virus concentrates itself along the exterior of the subjects brain. It “chews away” at the cells of the brain and also attacks the cranial blood vessels. This leads to brain lesions as well as bleeding through the eyes, nose, and even ears. Later on infected subjects also suffer extreme seizures. While these are the universally common symptoms, there has also been a list of “lesser symptoms” that many subjects suffer along with normal symptoms.

Other symptoms that many suffer from are cerebral hemorrhages, swollen lymph nodes, high degree fever of course, and blotching on the face.

When a subject is exposed to the virus and infected, there is a 4-10 day incubation period. The subject is contagious during this time of course. The first symptoms to show are the high fever and sever headaches, the bleeding usually comes within eight hours after the initial symptoms.
From the first signs of infection and throughout the course of infection, the average person dies within two to four days at most. Younger children, the elderly, and the weaker tend to only survive at most maybe two days. So far, no one has survived/recovered from Omega-13 once infected. The longest surviving person was a younger man in China who survived for six days before succumbing to seizures and brain hemorrhage.

Scientists have determined that the virus is highly contagious, and is transferable through numerous ways. Aside from person-to-person, the virus can also be transmitted through warm or lukewarm water, insects can also carry it, specifically mosquitoes. Mice and rats are also vectors of infection, as are higher level primates. Omega-13 is highly susceptible to cold, and cannot survive in extreme cold temperatures.
