I would say I should start as you've posted recently but- since I still don't know if the UU is present I think we should both wait to hear from Tau on the matter. After we have word on that matter we can determine who should post. I personally would like it to be you giving a reaction- the ship has just entered an inhabited system. A reaction to the three worlds of the Shelhsh seems a suitable follow up from which I can or Tau can respond to. As far as the Shelhsh would think it's just another UU member. What I mean is an explaination of the ship's crew's reaction is a good follow up to the l ines "Little did the Xarakh know, that an great event that would shake the empire to it's boots would soon be happening. Life would be forever changed for every single Xarakh, from even the lowest farmer to the council and the High Emperor himself. No words would not be able to express the magnitude of what was about to happen."

I somehow think it's refering, in this situation, to the UU.

Then i guess i'll try to write a post when i can. But i got a lot of stuff today, so feel Free to post if you want,even if it's just detecting an unkown Ship,very different from those of the UU

Is it fine if I try and update my application?
I feel there's something of a quality disparity and I haven't gone into quite as deep an amount of detail as I really should for my military.

I'm keeping an eye on this.

I've got a decent WiP idea going that's more of a return to FT RP tradition than my previous attempts at something different. Might be able to have it up tomorrow.

If most of the people in the RP have left, you might want to consider maybe re-doing the thread. No use in having players that are gone stay, since it'll be like their empires just suddenly vanished or turned into NPCs. Plus, it's easier to get players when the thread is newer, because people like joining RP's when they're new, usually, so that they won't lose anything. On another note, should i post first, or should you begin the first contact?

NS Name: True Refuge
Nation Name: Unified Kulu Kingdoms
Image

Species:
Species Name: Kulu
Appearance: The weaker magnitude of the star that the Kulu's homeworld orbited lends the Kulu a pale white skin. Such paleness could be compared to the colour of humans of Scandinavian descent aside from a subtle grey tint, although it has darkened somewhat since the species spread to other, sunnier worlds.

Due to their home system having the similar conditions to Earth in terms of its position in regards to a middle-aged yellow star and an abundance of water, the Kulu somewhat alike to humans. This comes with the exception of a slightly thinner, lankier build from living on smaller sized planets throughout their relatively short-existence, and slightly large pupils.

A noticeable difference is two seaweed frond-like appendages that hang from their shoulders down along their arms, known as the “empathic limbs" as opposed to the "physical limbs". Originally, they reached down to the wrist, but many of the Kulu have shortened them with genetic modifications and surgical operations for convenience. Before commonplace space travel necessitated shortenings for convenience, the fronds would let off subtle movements to indicate emotions. Some public figures, celebrities and orators For some, wearing the fronds in a particular way is considered fashionable, although others consider showing them at all to be an archaic mannerism and out-of-touch.
Biology/Anatomy: Quite similar to most humanoid's, consisting of an endoskeleton, soft damageable skin and oxygen-based cells.
Natural Abilities: A strange affinity for the scientific field of genetics, especially genetic modification for both natural and artificial lifeforms, as a species. Otherwise, nothing so far, although modification changes rapidly.
Native Breathable Gas: Oxygen-nitrogen mix, ideally with 25-30% of the former.
=========================================================
Life Span: Originally 110 Earth years, but now 140 from widespread germline modifications pushing the species towards optimal organ function, metabolism and energy efficiency. These changes remain minor, and some small factions following traditional Kulu belief systems refuse to adopt them except for a few exceptions.
Reproduction: Sexual
Intelligence Level: Sentient
Species Type: Mammalian Humanoid
=========================================================
Population Percentage: >99.99%
=========================================================
Brief Description of Species: Humanoids with significant genetic alterations.

Population: 17 billion
Capital: Sophin’s Palace, Cathri’s Respite, Mortonridge
Number of Systems: 3
History and Culture:
Most if not all of the Kulu Kingdoms were born out of the same desires. Tribalism, loyalty, wealth, power, belief. From very early on in Kulu history, countries grew on the Kulu home planet of Moride, flexing their borders and spreading their various government systems, vying for resources both diplomatically and uncivilly. But, armed with the natural curiosity of the Kulu, religion spread to the corners of the settled world, influencing governments, private ventures and individuals alike. Over time, some nations collapsed under the might and brutality of others, while the strongest found a seemingly unshakeable stability. An Industrial Age came and went. The international squabbles over newly discovered resources and manufacturing industries went as expected for the size of the Kulu civilisation at the time. Some established dominance, while others trailed behind, surviving off the scraps. Rivalries and empires ruled by regularly swapping dynasties flourished.

With electricity, air travel, and telecommunications came globalisation and greater links between nations previously ambivalent towards the rest of the world. Most interesting for most readers, however, is the discovery of the Esean-Ymit Drive. Equipped with this engine and its forty years of research and development, VTOL passenger vehicles could circumnavigate the globe in a mere [five hours] and efficiently use fuel at the same time. The widespread adoption and improvement of the E-Y Drive, as it was quickly nicknamed, caused the difficulty of travel to crater. As the latest drive model’s marque went up, its improvements became so great that it was perfectly realistic for a worker to eat breakfast in their own home, travel to a different continent for work, then to the other side of the world for lunch and a meeting, and then back home for dinner. For many, the very concept of national borders was becoming irrational and inconvenient.

From this turmoil came what many declare to be the Kulu species’ greatest thinker of all of our history, Martrin Kulu-Aben, whose ideas our current society has developed from. He, an executive within the largest transport company utilising the E-Y Drive, raised and advocated for many ideas that the Kulu of the time considered bizarre. Instead of restricting our people to simple spouse-spouse-children relationships, he said, let families be defined by who a Kulu enjoys the company of, friends and genetic relatives alike, and may the children of the ‘‘bash’ be raised by all within it, not just their parents. His

But technology moved too fast for the Kulu society to follow. Antagonisms over the ease of travel’s pressure on immigration systems and the ‘car system’’s’ antithesis to protectionist and isolationist thinking riled up majorities of traditionalists. Simultaneously, the world’s greatest religious institutions struck out against each other and the changes of society in a desperate attempt to retain influence over a growing segment of the populace far more tolerant of non-believers than tradition allowed.

Tensions rose and eventually war broke out. Fought on multiple fronts between religion, secularism, inquisitions, and xenophobes, the war threatened to bring the war to all over the globe via the power of the E-Y Drive, and the nature of the belligerents made every street a possible battlefield. It quickly earned a nickname of “The Church War” from the vitriol with which the Kulu religions threw themselves into aggression. Within moments of the violence beginning hoever, the car transit systems all halted on the orders of a foresighted few executives, Martrin being one of them. Supply chains were crippled and various economies ruined, but the war marched on. The final poison of the war was Martrin’s widespread evacuation of conscientious objectors and dissenters from the warring nations, which the governments of the time were unable to stop without losing the faith of the few who remained. The war ended within weeks as tax revenues and the rest of the world’s commerce collapsed. Many nations and religious institutions disappeared entirely. From the ruins our species’ finest stood up.

A new society was crafted with overwhelming public support, with the fresh wounds of the war and its causes in mind. Geographic nation-states were to be no more than a historic piece of land and decrepit border fortifications never to be guarded again. In their place new organisations, named “Hives” rose to prominence, representing ideologies and ideas of what was most important to their members. Some had transformed from their old pre-war entities, such as international charities, while others were created entirely from scratch as the post-war Kulu population struggled to come to grasp with the nature of their new world. Members lived by their chosen Hive’s laws, or could even forgo one and follow one of three sets of ‘Neutrals’ Law’.

To manage them all was the “Unified Kulu Kingdoms” body, named for the ancient, long-lived dynasties of our far history. At its head sits the Crown Bearer, a not quite absolute monarch who shares power with various elected assemblies and governmental bodies. First chosen from among the philosphers of the age, it has continued in a non-hereditary way over centuries. The Crown is a widely respected honour, but only because the monarch rules with the support of the Hives and suffers daily for the benefit of all. Our people have continued in this way ever since the Church War, whether it be with Hive or without, in peace.

Now we have faster-than-light travel. How will our unorthodox nation survive space’s expanse? We are in a privileged generation, being able to watch the answer to this question unfold. Let us see.

However, before we do, we will explore each of these stages and their key figures in detail throughout this text, for every part of Kulu history is an important factor in how we reached our current prosperity.

Military Description: Focus on inert, streamlined projectiles and rail/coil/gauss cannons to save on cost and complexity. Planetary and satellite defence networks are somewhat developed but allotted budgets are conservative and the relevant technology is rudimentary at present.

Thanks very much my dude.

Now to find people to interact with. Anyone up with a first contact with a nice, respectful culture?
COMMUNIST
"If we have food, he will eat. If we have air, he will breathe. If we have fuel, he will fly." - Becky Chambers, Record of a Spaceborn Few
"One does not need to be surprised then, when 26 years later the outrageous slogan is repeated, which we Marxists burned all bridges with: to “pick up” the banner of the bourgeoisie. - International Communist Party, Dialogue with Stalin.

ML, anarchism, co-operativism (known incorrectly as "Market Socialism"), Proudhonism, radical liberalism, utopianism, social democracy, national capitalism, Maoism, etc. are not communist tendencies. Read a book already.
