At the start of WWI, Beithe will be pressured by neighbours New Zealand and Australia to join the war effort to support the British; however, Beithe is internally conflicted due to the nation's sizable German population. Beithe maintains a technologically advanced (albeit small by comparison with the Royal Navy) naval force despite the nation's small size.
