You do need food to build a settler and expand. And I will start the next turn tomorrow since most people have posted. I am just going to give the people that have not posted some more time.

Correct me if I'm wrong but in one turn pass one in-game month or months pass like in real life

Do you need people to build Settlers, or just food?

Hmm. So a larger population is actually a downside, since they don’t do anything but eat a resource you need for expansion

Population for each settlement has a limit of 10,000. Once you reach that, pop stops growing.

Yes, but don’t you want it to stop growing? Since all it does is eat food?

Well, I guess though you just need to build one more farm of any kind then, pop will not be a problem. I think I will add to the population stuff once I am done with making the update.

Hmm, okay. It would be cool if population produced, like, energy in the form of taxation, or was necessary to recruit into the military, so they wouldn’t just be a useless drain on resources.

I'm imagining that we are starting and exploring "square shaped areas", yes?

Do the Exploration Teams automatically return to the Settlements at the end of the turn for supplies? Or can they continue exploring without starving?

Colony App
Colony Name: Pinkerton Tiria Branch
Colony Leader: Allen Cross
Sponsors: Pinkerton Security Solutions
Claim: Remnant
Population:600
Faction Pro/Con:
Logistics and Research Branch: Unlike their parent branch on Earth, the Tiria Branch is focused on logistics and R&D for extrasolar colonization. The branch has many advance scientific studies and computers to allow for research to go by faster than usual, about a month ahead.
Con
Imported Military: Because of the Branch being focused for science, they surprisingly lack the quality of soldiers that Pinkerton is known for and has to regularly import them from the Home Office. Military units cost more in minerals to show the extra training cost

Background: The Tiria branch of Pinkerton came during the fall of Pinkerton after the Red Plague. Pinkerton itself came to power during the late 2050s as they started to become more of private military force being used to keep riots and other conflicts happening across the world. They started in Chicago and other places in high-risk nations around the world by providing investigations and merc work but soon grew beyond that.

With the advent of interplanetary colonization, Pinkerton became the largest private military contract in history as they protected colony ships and small settlements from pirates. Pinkerton's Eye was held as a respectable organization but it started to fall when the Red Plague started. Pinkerton used extreme measures such as destroying entire ships fulled of refugees and razed settlements. These atrocities were noted by the public when the Plague was cured and backlash occurred.

Lawsuits and various troubles hit Pinkerton so they had to sell a lot of their assets and people left the job. The company was about to fall into bankruptcy until the Sako-Ossian interstellar drive came into being. Pinkteron did one last ditch effort in order to scrape together a small colony ship to Tiria in hopes of turning Pinkteron into a colonization business that helps with colony management and bringing profit to the name instead of carrying the troubles of the past.

The Tiria branch was to be called and with the first directives to reestablish contact and make a Pinkteron a new household name in the system. Many of the branch knew that Pinkteron HQ may not be around if they reestablish contact but they will turn Pinkerton into something new than just a military outfit.

They return home at the end of each month.

And the size and shape of what they are exploring? Is it a grid of squares?

About how many grids are ther to a world/moon?

I imagine that since there doesn't seem to be much difference in gravity, in that humans seem okay in that department, that they are pretty much the same size?

Also, I imagine that some basic readings were recorded by the colony ships as they approached....

Unless I have listed a world as having either low or high gravity. It is normal gravity.

Some, not alot to determine the surrounding area around a colony starting point.
