Im considering bringing Maria back but to rework her role as a dedicated combat medic in this universe. I was thinking of a life-leech type of healing where Maria has to do damage to the enemy in order to heal herself or her patient.

Magical Abilities: As the Seeker of the group, Niki can locate all of the other members of the current group of Marked, with her accuracy growing higher when her distance is closer to them. She's the first one to realize when someone receives the mark, and can track those that have it.

In addition to this, Niki is what you could call a battle medic. Her magic focuses both on healing and on offensive action, as she's trained in multiple branches. Healing is her strongest ability, and she's good at bringing someone back from the brink while still on the battlefield. Some may be better doctors than her, but she's a great medic in the heat of the moment, with her magic requiring physical touch but working faster than it would for less experienced mages.

But while she can heal, she can also take someone out of the fight. She also specializes in poison magic, which can allow her to give a weapon poison enchantments of varying degrees which can take an enemy down with sickness or even kill them if not cured in the right time frame. This takes time before a battle to do, and the degree of poison depends on how long she's spent working on the enchantment and how much mana she's put into it. She can convert other objects to poisonous ones too, but the poison can be detected by the faint green glow around the poisoned object.

Like most high level mages, she also has some knowledge of physical enhancement magic.

Weaknesses: Niki is overdependent on specific items because her poison magic applies to items and not to the environment, meaning she needs something like a poisoned arrow or blade to be effective. Additionally, while she does have physical enhancement magic in her arsenal, she's not that strong physically compared to many others. And her emotional instabilities can be... Preyed upon.

Equipment: Niki carries medical equipment in her backpack, but also keeps a MAC-11 with her in the event that she can't use her regular poisoned weapons.

Personality: Niki is the kind of person that remains quiet much of the time and when she does speak, it's to the point and forceful. She has a warm heart if you manage to reach it, but to most people, she's cold blooded, and some may wonder why she was even selected to be a hero and to be the group's Seeker.

Biography: The daughter of Ander Laskaris, one of the now disgraced Marked that failed to protect the world from the rise of Autarch, Niki grew up away from society at large. It wasn't that she always wanted to be a loner, but there was a lot of distance between her and other people, living on a farm where she and her father kept to herself. She would spend time growing up between there and St. Petersburg, where she spent time with her mother on occasions, sometimes for months at a time. Her mother did work for the Kvasov mage family, she had been told plenty of times. What kind of work, she didn't know. What she did know was that her mother was a powerful mage not just through training, but because of demonic blood. She knew that the woman that was in front of her wasn't who she appeared to be, and that her human appearance was simply a mask. Niki also knew that her own appearance was a mask of sorts. That, despite how she acted, she would always be a half demon. And that she would always be dangerous.

Perhaps that danger was why she always returned home to her father, and spent most of her time in Thunder Bay rather than the much larger city of St. Petersburg. Well, it wasn't much of a comparison. She could have lived like royalty in one of the nicest cities in Europe, or she could live on a farm in the middle of nowhere. Only someone that was hiding from the world would have picked the latter, but that was what she picked.

From an early age, her father told her not to blindly listen to the Church of Light and to choose for herself what path she wanted to go down. After all, he had blended multiple styles together and had never been a follower of the Church. She listened, although, perhaps she shouldn't have. Her natural magic had never been the strongest, and so when she stumbled upon the seductive offer for more power if she would just consider an alternative path... It was easy to accept. Even if that alternate form of magic would destroy her body if she didn't feed on others to keep herself alive. She found herself with more mana than she had before, as she joined the local circle of worshipers of Somnus. She learned tricks that she hadn't known before, boosting her progress in magic and becoming stronger. Her father always told her that she needed to become stronger, to survive this world. And that was what she thought she was doing.

Until she became more and more dependent on the magic of Somnus, feeling like her body was ripped apart when she went too long without feeding on souls. She became, in a way, a vampire without actually becoming one. She started keeping a secret life. In public, she was a smiling and happy girl who was a little mysterious because she lived out of town on a farm with just her father. At night, however, she prowled like a thief. But it wasn't valuables she was after, it was souls. She tried to not kill anyone. She didn't take the entire soul, just part of it. Enough to put someone in a daze for awhile, but not to kill them.

At least, that was what she did until she messed up one time, and ended up taking too much. She hadn't intended to kill her classmate, Maya. But she had been trying to stop feeding on others, to stop relying on this destructive form of magic, and she had been feeling the physical effects of it. She'd been sickly, and had less control. She took too much, and she ended up with her classmate dead when she had only meant to knock her out for a bit. And because of her demonic blood, she couldn't control herself much. She didn't just accidentally kill her classmate, she consumed part of the body, too. The incident shook her up. For the first time, she wondered if she was even human, and old fears about her bloodline were brought back up. Would she be able to control herself? Would she turn into a feral demon? Would she be able to keep her crime hidden?

She did, with the help of Ander. But she withdrew even more from the world, despite her outward smile. To most, she was friendly and always polite. Deep down, however, there was a growing darkness. And she found herself locked in a battle between her good side and her new magic, which offered her great capabilities in exchange for the constant need to feed on others... And if she didn't, it would affect her. It was while she was in the middle of that battle with herself that the mark appeared on her hand not once but twice, showing that she was the Seeker. The one that would have to track and help gather those who would try to save the world... Many years after her father had failed to do so.

At the start of the IC they'll probably have been marked about a month or two ago and gathered up recently, the IC intro will have our arrival at the monastery which we'll have to fix up a little bit on the first day.

Magically Enhanced Reaction Time - Kana possess an incredible reaction time to visual, audio and touch stimuli. Her visual reaction time is equal to 0.0016 seconds, her audio reaction time is equal to 0.0008 seconds and her touch reaction time is equal to 0.0006 seconds.

360 Degree Awareness - Kana possess a 360 degree awareness, allowing her to react to threats from any direction. However, she does not possess enhanced senses, and as such while she can "see" behind her, she can only "see" as far behind her as much as she can in front of her.

Kana is capable of manifesting one hundred arms of solidified magic energy. These arms are visible, and have about the same thickness as Kana's physical arm (or arms, yet to decide on physical appearance). The range of these arms depends on whether they are defensive or offensive arms. Range isn't the only factor dependent on whether the arm is a defensive or offensive. Other factors include travel speed (moving over short to long distances), strength, durability, reflex speed (moving over very short distances), striking force and dexterity. There are always 50 defensive arms, and 50 offensive arms.

Defensive arms have an effective range of 3 metres (about 10 feet), and are capable of moving with enough speed to meet Kana's reaction speed of 0.0016 seconds (75x faster than the fastest recorded reaction speed), as such the top reflex speed of the defensive arms are about 1062 m/s (or about 3484 ft/s). However, the travel speed of these arms is around the speed of the average punch at only about 7 m/s (about 23 ft/s). A single defensive arm is capable of generating enough strength to lift 2.3 kg (about 5 lbs). Therefore, when all 50 defensive arms are acting in tandem are capable of lifting about 113 kg (about 250 lbs). The defensive arms have a durability great enough to stop bullets of a 7.62x51 mm caliber or lower and are resistant to most other piercing, blunt or cutting weapons. The defensive arms are also highly resistant to elemental effects, either natural or magical. The defensive arms have a max striking force of about 42 pounds-force (about 187 N). However, this is only the force of an individual arm, therefore, if all 50 defensive arms hit a single target, they are capable of delivering a blow equal to 2,100 pounds-force (about 9341 N). In terms of dexterity, which is hard to calculate, the defensive arms are comparable to the hands of a surgeon.

The offensive arms have an effective range of 15 metres (about 50 feet), but are unable to move at speeds to match Kana's reaction speed of 0.0016 seconds, and as such the top reflex speed of the offensive arms are about 25 m/s (or about 82 ft/s). The travel speed of these arms is about 42 m/s (or about 138 ft/s) which is about 3x faster than the fastest recorded punch while also remaining comparable to major league pitch speeds, and as such is still capable of being react to. A single offensive arm is capable of generating enough strength to lift 20 kg (about 44 lbs). Therefore, when all 50 offensive arms are acting in tandem are capable of lifting about 1000 kg (about 2205 lbs). The offensive arms lack durability as they can not block any caliber of bullet, or stand up to much damage of piercing, blunt or cutting weapons as they have a similar durability to a regular human arm. As such they also lack resistance to elemental effects. The offensive arms have a max striking force of 785 pound-force (about 3492 N). However, this is only the force of an individual arm, therefore, if all 50 offensive arms hit a single target, they are capable of delivering a blow equal to 39,250 pound-force (about 174,593 N). In terms of dexterity, which is hard to calculate, the offensive arms are not very dexterous, and struggle with manipulating small objects.


Slowly Aging - Kana's physical aging process has been drastically slowed, resulting in her appearing to age far, far slower than normal. It should be mentioned, that only her physical appearance is effect. Therefore, "under the skin" she ages like every other person.

Weaknesses: Using all 100 arms for extended periods of time is very, very taxing on the mind, and can cause damage to her mind. As such only 10 are used at a time, as any more being used simultaneously causes migraines (intensity increases with number) after using them, and also causes difficulty concentrating on the world around her (as most of her brain power goes to controlling the arms). Arms that are damaged beyond repair or severed dissipate, and require 24 hours to regenerate (but can be replaced quickly with arms not in use). Kana is also confined to a wheelchair, and physically feeble. As such, her physical body is highly susceptible to all forms of attacks (if they can get by the defensive arms) and also possess a weaker than average immune system. As such, she is on plenty of medications, and if she loses access to these medications her condition will rapidly deteriorate, leading ultimately to death. She is almost always in pain, and thus takes pain killers on the regular. It is also worth noting that Kana does suffer from night terrors and PTSD as well.

Personality: Kana is a strong willed and confident individual. Despite this confidence, which can come across as cockiness, Kana knows her limitations well, and is not afraid to ask for help from those she trusts and considers friends. Her trusting other people though is another matter, as due to her parents, she finds trusting others hard, especially when trusting those much older than her. Kana is not afraid to say what she is thinking. She acts strong and joyful, but as those who get to know her and gain her trust know, she is living a painful and lonely existence. Even though she may trust someone, she never feels as if she can trust them completely, and as such her relationships don't run very deep, adding to the loneliness she feels almost constantly. Finally, Kana is highly empathetic and caring. If someone she considers a friend appears to be sad or hurting, Kana will always try to help them. Same goes for random children.

Biography: Born in Dawson City in the Yukon territory of Canada to two mages. Her father was an American Mage originally from Seldovia, Alaska, USA; her mother was a Canadian mage, a member of the Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in Aboriginals, and was from Dawson, Yukon, Canada. Her parents seemed like your normal citizens capable of magic and normal parents. Loving and caring parents to be precise. For her early years, Kana would have agreed, but once it became obvious that Kana had a relatively large mana pool, they changed. Well, not so much changed as allowed their daughter to see their true selves.

Kana's parent were evil plain and simple. They were obsessed with trying to create what they considered to be the perfect living weapon; a weapon with incredible power, and one that they could control like a puppet. Unfortunately for Kana, she was the perfect specimen in the eyes of her parents. However, before they risked starting their experiments on their daughter, they had to get out of sight of everyone they knew, and so, the family moved from Dawson, Yukon, Canada to an isolate cabin North-West of Anaktuvuk Pass in Alaska, USA.

Her parents experimentation on their daughter began not long after arriving at their new place. At first it wasn't obvious to Kana what they were doing, as it seemed they were just trying to get Kana to understand magic, and teach her how to use it. But things started to change as Kana got older. Once Kana started learning how to use her magic, her parents went on to trying to control her. They started with more under the table methods as they employed magic concoction of their own creation. These concoctions didn't work as her parents desired, and instead of pushing her into trances that allowed for them to easily control her, the concoctions had more poisonous effects. The concoctions ended up weakening her immune system over time with the constant poisoning.Her parents eventually abandoned the use of the concoctions, due to them not having the effect they desired, her parents turned to black magic to continue their experiments and to keep their weakened daughter alive.

Thus the most obvious experimentation began. Kana would find herself sealed away in a locked room, deprived of light for the majority of the next chapter of her life. The only time she'd see light was when her parents dragged her out and preformed their experiments on her. It became obvious to even the 13 year old Kana that her parents no longer saw her as a daughter, but as a tool to use to further their own desires. Her parents experimentation yielded some results, at the cost of Kana's right eye, left leg, constant physical pain and drastically slowing the aging of her physical appearance.

The experiments didn't yet result in her parents having total control over Kana, but they did have some control. The experiments at this point also increase Kana's magic power, and gave her greater control of her magic. But her parents didn't quite have total control, so the experiments, physical abuse, and mental abuse continued. Her parents would never gain total control of their daughter, as Kana made a decision. She would free herself.

So, in order to bear the pain, she would submit to them in the light, but in her isolated darkness, the hate would grow. Kana would tap this hate to fuel her will to survive, and fuel her secret training. Through hatred her magic became more powerful, and she obtained greater control of it. This would eventually lead to Kana breaking free of her dark isolation, and killing her parents. This would happen when she was 16 years old.

Using her Hecatoncheires Legacy, she would escape the isolate cabin, using the arms produced as legs. She would eventually find herself lost in the Alaskan wilderness, but luckily for her, someone would find her unconscious in the snow and take her to his home in Coldfoot, Alaska. This person was an old mage, and when Kana learned of this, she got afraid, and tried to kill her saviour. Fortunately she didn't, and the mage would help her learn to trust again. He would also help her learn more about her magic and its limits. This mage was an old man named Nathan Hector, and would give her the gun she keeps in her wheelchair bag.

When a strange mark appeared on Kana's right hand, Nathan was the only person she turned to. Luckily for Nathan, he knew what the mark was, and would prepare her for the day when the Seeker would arrive. The rest is history.

Duplication: Sienna can create up to 4 other constucts of herself, each one capable of autonomous movement through a collective hivemind with the original Sienna wielding the most power. The constucts are made of light light constructs making them resemble walking crystal statues with opposable thumbs and flexing fingers. Features like those allows the constructs to wield weaponry such as firearms in combat. When a construct dies, its body turned to ash and dust while a non-destroyed construct could be reabsorbed back into the original Sienna.

Combined Arms: Sienna and her constructs are stronger in terms of strength, endurance, durability, and protection against mana attacks the closer they are together. Like the 40k Orks and their faith, the more concentrated Sienna and her constructs are in one location, the greater the performance. It's why Sienna or a construct could lift the other four of them onto her shoulders without breaking any bones or twisting a muscle.

Weaknesses: Being a hivemind means that the constructs have to be in line of sight of Sienna what at the same time, the hivemind can be overloaded with too many sensory information received from constructs that suffered extreme damage to the senses such as sight. While being together greater enhances their physical body, divide-and-conquer tactics that separates the Siennas reduce the strength of every clone including Sienna to normal human strength for an 18 year old girl who weighs 120 lbs. Biography: Born as the only child of a French and Italian parents who immigrated to Texas. Her French father was a gunsmith and her mother an university teacher for the Italian language. The two sides of Sienna's family tree could be traced back during the days of the Second World War with Sienna's French great-grandfather and great-grand uncles and aunts part of the Free French Forces under Charles de Gaulle and the underground French partisan movement while her Italian side of the family had elderly relatives that were veterans of Mussolini's Army and later the Royal Italian Army.
Growing up with parents who would tell bedtime stories of their ancestors in WWII, Sienna developed a fascination with espionage, the weapons of the Free French Forces, and disguises. Halloween was her favorite holiday since it allows her to dress up in any costume she wants.
The mark on her hand appeared when Sienna was having one of her most stressed out moments of her life: she had five different locations to attend simultaneously since she screwed up on the scheduling. Four constructs of her appeared before Sienna and the rest is history.
By the time her family found out, Sienna was old enough to get her gun license. With all the birthday money she scrapped up from all her birthdays, Sienna purchased as much M1911s as she could before she was sent to Nepal to attend Lynwood Academy to escape her parents' ire when they realize she was cheating on all of her tests in high school.

I can't really seemed to find any difference whether you are a member of the Marked or not. Do the students have actual disadvantages if they are not members of the Marked faction?

Biography:

Natalie Paulson was born as Natalie Schram. Her father came from a great line of Pyrrhic wizards, but he was never had the potentials of being a great wizard, nor a heroic wizard. Her father spent his time being a small-time villain despite, or in spite of, his rather average magic abilities. Her father was also a ruthless one, with a favorite pastime of him being watching his daughter in many, many forced training sessions. She arguably skilled in magic and has potential of being a great wizard. She was 12 when she was whisked away by her grandparents as they hunted down her father. Eventually, her father was killed in action. To eased off her mind and mental health, her grandparents put her in a magical therapy to healed her mental health.

It took a full 5 years for her to no longer depressed about the whole thing. After her release, she ran away from her grandparents, and spent her time on the streets. It was later revealed that she developed the similar kind of alignment like her father and developed general trainings in close combat. Over the next 2 years, she committed several small-time crimes with no death victims to avoid jail time. She threatened and bluffed her way, as well as independently trained herself using stolen books and involved herself in one on one duels, and in time developed basic training in firearms and close combat, acquiring necessary equipment in the process. Her days of freedom ended early, however, after her Marked sign was revealed while she was in jail, for some theft-related crime.

She was subsequently paid on bail and whisked away.

Beyond this, she is skilled with physical enhancement magic, particularly on herself, though she can boost others. Her final specialty is metal magic, which melds particularly well with enhancement and Pyrrhic magics.

Aria additionally minors in Transformation and Animal magic, which she she mostly just knows the basics of, enough to tame less hostile animals and (mostly) cosmetic magic, though she can restore and enhance her fangs when she needs to.

Weaknesses: Beyond the traditional issues associated with her chosen school, Aria has chosen to enhance it's strengths rather than cover it's weaknesses. Because she worked on controlling her demonic side well before she became a Pyrrhic mage, she is probably a bit more stable, and....Lawful than most followers, but she is still unpredictable and rowdy.
Biography:
Born and abandoned by parents unknown in Kalamaria, Greece, just south of Thessaloniki, Aria has never known where she came from, and only has an inkling as to why she was abandoned in the first place. To complicate things, she has a golden wristwatch left by her mother that reads "Elapsam semel occasionem non ipse potest Iuppiter reprehendere". To this day Aria has no idea what it means. Still, she does have a family, odd and broken as it is, thanks to being adopted by one Ander Laskaris.

Raised alongside her stepsister Niki, Aria was already a rowdy child when she was young, not afraid to fight or ignore things that bored her in favor of some excitement. As time went on, she managed to discipline herself a bit better, becoming more stable. Knowing herself to be half demon, she took steps to keep herself in line so that others would have less reasons to come after her, especially knowing how her stepsister struggled with a similar though different problem. Like her sister, she listened to Ander and chose her own path, finding a following of Pyra in the area, and taking to the magic like a fish to water.

Her already violent tendencies were manifested, and more than simple discipline was needed to keep her from becoming overly dangerous, so she started experimenting. She found that by sating her other desires, she could keep her violence in check till she wanted to let it out, and has since become a common user of weed, alcohol, and enjoys herself a nice night with a cute person.

When Niki found herself in trouble after accidentally killing a girl named Maya, Aria was there to help. She helped cover up the crime, and was there for her stepsister the best she could manage, though neither one ever really saw the other as a sister. She gave Niki space when she needed it, was there for her other times, but never stopped studying, never stopped training. She was even there when Niki needed to feed on occasion, letting Niki nibble in exchange for something else. It came as a surprise when Aria manifested her mark, at least it made the first one gathered by Niki simple, as it was the girl who lived the next room over.
