Problem with Dorne is that I've read only A Wiki of Ice and Fire, not read any of the books. I do, however, love Dorne and various Essosi nations after reading the Wiki.
@Balerion, considering that Ella Martell was murdered by Aerys in this AU, how much can Doran Martell's personality change?

He would probably be relatively similar, seeing as though Elia was murdered in both timelines.Lunas Legion wrote:Tywin is going to be... Interesting, since I have a plan for his first action and he has no love for Rhaegar or Aerys.

Well one could argue either way. On the one hand, all the Lords swore oaths of allegiance to the King. On the other, the King has essentially dismantled the legal inheritance of the Realm and murdered members of both the Royal Family, and one of the Great Houses, making him a Kinslayer as well.
Rhaegar has a way around these issues though, as we shall see in the first post of the IC I have planned.

CHARACTER APPLICATION
Name: Doran Martell
House: Martell
Age: 34
Gender: Male
Titles: Prince of Dorne, Lord of Sunspear
House Seat: Sunspear
Allegiance paid to Targaryens
Appearance (Picture appreciated):
Personality: Doran Martell is a planner; cautious, manipulative, but above all confident that brain would win out over brawn. He, like the stereotypical Dornishman, can appear to be a friend while planning one's downfall, especially when his interests, his family's interests, and his nation's are at stake. In this history, Aerys 'enjoys' all of his loathing while Rhaegar, due to not eloping with Lyanna Stark (yet) enjoys his full confidence and support. But this support is not openly expressed yet as his favorite Uncle is in the Kingsguard of Aerys, and a potential hostage for the Mad King.
Skills: Doran is a politician through and through, able to play the long game. Despite exposing himself to charges of weakness by taking this approach, the Prince of Dorne prides himself on results, knowing that the right word in the right place is more effective than an army at times. He also knows the power of poisons, money, and assassins.
Weaponry (If any): A poisoned dagger.
Biography (At least a well-written Paragraph please):
Pre-AU Biography
Post-AU Biography:
Ever since Aerys had spat on both his House and the succession laws of Westeros, Doran Martell has been livid, but has hidden it. Troubled by a marriage that continued to fail, by gout that would not just go away, and by vassals who do not respect him much, Doran still knows he has to bide his time and see who would support Rhaegar in his rebellion against his father. Nevertheless, he could not quite trust the Prince of Westeros, considering his rumored infatuation with Lyanna Stark, an infatuation that there would be nothing to stand in the way of thanks to Aerys murdering Ella Martell and her children by Rhaegar first. So Doran finds himself alone and unable to trust anyone but his family.

Notes: All of House Martell and the Denizens of Dorne.
EXISTING HOUSE APPLICATION
House Name: House Nymeros-Martell
House Sigil (Image appreciated):
House Words: Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken.
Allegiance Paid to: Targaryens.
Approx Number of military at command: 25,000 men (Equivalent to the North and Vale, as said in this Interview.)
History of the House (At least two well-written paragraphs please): House Nymeros-Martell holds the honor of foiling all of Westeros' attempts to annex it by force, and instead joining the Targaryens by marriage. This has given them extensive privileges not given to the other Kingdoms, privileges that has caused extensive jealousy in the past. However, despite the fact that the above two sentences were because of the Dornishmen's use of unconventional, even 'dishonorable' tactics, Dorne maintains considerable military strength because of said tactics; they are one of the few people who specialize in Light Cavalry in the world besides the Dothraki.
But this strength would not avail them in an offensive war, and so House Nymeros-Martell uses its superior defensive position and mastery of local terrain to deter intruders, even as Doran Martell looks for opportunities to turn the tide against his King, the Kinslayer. Discreet messages have been sent to Essos, ostensibly to recall Dornish subjects who have been serving in the east as mercenaries. However, there are rumors that House Martell is planning to raise money by asking a loan from Braavos, or buying unknown devices from Myr, or even trying to build relations with Norvos and Pentos. All the while, Doran waits, waits for the other members of the Seven Kingdoms to make their move...

Rozeta wrote:Hello! A friend linked this to me and I'm kinda tempted, but I had some questions first before I make any decisions;
I'm not super read up on the lore here, so I was thinking of making a minor custom house? Or maybe picking an existing house that doesn't have much lore to it, but still minor. What would be the demands for that? Would I need to list all characters associated with them i.e. members by birth or marriage, the alliances from said marriages, vassals houses and the like? And how detailed would that need to be? I imagine I'd have to clear the marriage alliances with whatever house its with, at least if it's a player or a major house anyway.
I also entertained the idea of maybe co-playing a house with my friend, maybe splitting the characters between us or something, would that be allowed? Actually, could I have some clarification? There's both a character app and a house app, should I assume the character app is for the main head-of-house type character that the player would mainly be playing, or does the player get to play all the characters of their house? And if the latter is the case, how would betrayals and the like be handled?
Last question, for the RP example, I've been roleplaying for aggeeeesss, but all of my NS related RPs have been on offsite regional forums, and I've got experience in places like the Alternate History site and Roleplayer Guild, and I do some fanfiction writing on the side - but does my example have to be from here on the ns forum or can it just be any example of my writing? Do I have to link it or can I copy and paste a post? Does it have to be GoT rp or just anything?

CHARACTER APPLICATION
Name: Robert Baratheon
House: House Baratheon of Storm's End
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Titles: Lord Paramount of the Stormlands, Lord of Storm's End, Ser
House Seat:House Sigil:(Image)Allegiance paid to: De Jure: House Targaryen of King's Landing. De Facto: Nobody.(Image)
Appearance:Robert is the epitome of the Baratheon look: thick black hair, bright blue eyes, tall, strong, handsome, muscled, and clean-shaven with a strong jawline.(Image)
Personality: A renowned lover of women, drinking, hunting, and fighting. Robert is a brave and fierce character, but also headstrong and rash. He is charismatic and craves to be loved. He is not easily slighted, though when he is, his anger has no bounds.
Skills: One of the best warriors of his generation and a good general. Charismatic and good at making friends of enemies. Master of seduction and a skilled drinker.
Weaponry: A spiked iron warhammer crafted by the smith of Storm's End, Donal Noye. Keeps a hunting knife given to him by Jon Arryn on his person. Wears a great antlered helm into battle.
Military Strength: 30,000 men
Biography: Robert Baratheon was born in 262AC to Lord Steffon Baratheon and Lady Cassana Estermont. A year later his brother Stannis was born, though the two have seldom got along due to their contrasting personalities. Robert was a very hearty, boisterous, and fun-loving individual, whilst Stannis was far more reserved, dour, and often the outcast.
From an early age Robert was sent away to the Vale where he was fostered with Lord Jon Arryn at the Eyrie. Here Robert became close friends with Jon's other ward, Eddard 'Ned' Stark, as well as close to their guardian, the childless Jon Arryn, who became like a second father to them both.
When Robert was sixteen, his parents left for Essos to find a wife for his cousin, Rhaegar Targaryen. However, upon their return, the ship smashed against the rocks in the Shipbreaker Bay and both Lord Baratheon and Lady Estermont drowned. Both Robert and Stannis witnessed this event, which made Robert the new Lord of Storm's End. Robert returned to the Vale soon after, and has not seen his brother since.
Back in the Vale, after fathering a bastard daughter, Mya Stone, Robert fell in love with Eddard's sister, Lyanna Stark. Eventually their father Rickard Stark agreed to a betrothal between Robert and Lyanna.
In 281 Robert, Ned, and Jon attended Lord Whent's Tourney at Harrenhal, where Robert participated in the melee, unhorsing many. However, at the tournament's conclusion, Rhaegar Targaryen, champion of the joust, chose to name Robert's betrothed as the queen of love and beauty, giving her a crown of winter roses. This was in spite of the fact that Rhaegar was married to Elia Martell (who was in attendance), mother of his daughter Rhaenys. Robert was said to have laughed at this, though privately felt greatly insulted and sparked his dislike for the heir to the throne.
RP Example: Here.
Notes: Stannis Baratheon and appropriate members of Robert's household at Storm's End.
EXISTING HOUSE APPLICATION
House Name: House Baratheon of Storm's End
House Sigil: In the other app.
House Words: Ours is the Fury
Allegiance Paid to: House Targaryen of King's Landing
Approx Number of military at command: 30,000
History of the House: The first Baratheon of Storm's End was the famous Orys Baratheon, one of Aegon the Conqueror's main generals, Westeros' first ever Hand of the King, and possibly a bastard half-brother. During Aegon's Conquest Orys married the only daughter of Argliac Durrandon, the last Storm King. Orys took the sigil and words of the now extinct House Durrandon for his own, in addition to their ancestral seat - Storm's End.
House Baratheon has served House Targaryen most ably during their time on the Iron Throne, for the most part. Baratheons have served three separate monarchs as Hand while Boros Baratheon fought for Aegon II's greens during the Dance of the Dragons, taking King's Landing and partaking in the Battle of the Kingsroad, where he lost his life. House Baratheon remained loyal to the Targaryens during the Blackfyre Rebellions also, most notably fighting in the War of the Ninepenny Kings under Ormund Baratheon, who was slain by Maelys the Monstrous. He was succeeded by Steffon Baratheon, cousin to Aerys Targaryen and a close wartime friend.
There have been times of tension between Baratheon and Targaryen also however. During the reign of Aegon V, crown prince Duncan broke his betrothal with a daughter of Lord Lyonel Baratheon to marry a lowborn girl. Lord Lyonel was so outraged by this that he renounced fealty to the Iron Throne, declaring independence with himself as the first Baratheon Storm King. This rebellion was short-lived, ending after Lyonel was defeated by Ser Duncan of the Kingsguard in a trial by combat and being promised a daughter of Aegon, Rhaella Targaryen, who was married to his heir Ormund Baratheon. Ormund would go on to father a son, Steffon Baratheon, who in turn fathered three sons before dying in a shipwreck: Robert, Stannis, and Renly. Having shared a great-grandmother, Robert Baratheon is the second cousin of Rhaegar Targaryen, and possesses an (arguably) strong claim to the throne.

Yeah, Roose was fairly young during Robert’s Rebellion. He was born sometime around 260, so that would put him at twenty years old or slightly younger, maybe 19 or 18.
Also tag. No clue on what to play.
