"Interestin' proposition, Senator Kramer. I don' know if that's somethin' I can get behind right now. This state's bustin' my balls. We can't seem to get this budget balanced thanks to ol' Reed's Carbon Tax. Balanced Budget Ammendments gonna make that problem even worse when that sets in and we lose federal monies. I'm honored that you're askin', but I must be too southern and too similar to do you much good. Truth be told, I am thinkin' bout running for Senate in 2018."

Governor's Mansion, Charleston, West Virginia

Kramer thought over what Sinclair had said, as Sinclair concluded, Kramer placed his hands into a roughly rhombus shape before he began.

"Well, that is unfortunate, Governor, but if you do consider running for Senate, I am more than willing to endorse your campaign in a joint rally."

Conference Room, Chicago Downtown Marriott, Chicago, Illinois

"I sure as hell do hate Chicago..." Harrington muttered into the otherwise silent rental car as she and a couple of staffers crawled through the rush hour traffic of the Midwestern city.

The Sheldon, Iowa event had been a success for Harrington, financially speaking. New emails and voter information was collected for future fundraising drives. A drive was pushed using her speech that had raked in some cash. And additionally, there was a lot of donating that went on at the event itself.

Harrington's staff had organized a follow-up to Sheldon, anticipating its success. The follow-up was not public, and it would not involve a red meat speech to rouse the base. Instead, it was a more high powered meeting in Chicago with a number of Midwestern conservative mega donors, to line Harrington's coffers. Harrington already was a decent fundraiser among such donors, being one of the loudest conservative voices in Washington, and her experience as a lobbyist. It only increased after 2016, when the Freedom Caucus became an even more powerful force than ever before. Every piece of major legislation, from Minuteman to POMA was an excuse for Harrington to push small donors as well.

The city scape reminded Harrington of the thing that scared her most- Charleston. She didn't hate the city, she respected its history and architecture. But she did not like the people, and held some disdain for urban areas generally. To some extent, it reminded her of Judge Buford Harrington, the big city lawyer who swept her off of her feet and took her from the Low Country marshes she called home.

Chicago was a lot bigger than the small Hugenot-influenced colonial city, but the sounds and faces kept it at the forefront of her mind just the same. She got close in 2010, but only in 2016 did she ever win Charleston county, the anchor of her district. She continually got re-elected thanks to her overwhelming appeal to the north and south of the blue county, but Charleston was growing. Northern college educated professionals were moving in, and the district was not as red as it seemed. She and her team figured that 2018 would be easy, thanks to Reed's popularity and the left wing's split. But 2020 could become challenging, especially if the left re-united and Reed found himself in deep water. After that point, she could probably convince her old allies in the state legislature from the Buford days to draw her a better district by cracking Charleston county down the middle. The safest bet, however, would be to start eyeing the exit. She didn't want to be a career Congresswoman, after all.

She was more popular in South Carolina than her district, overall. Another symptom caused by the city of Charleston. In most of the state, she was liked, not disliked for being a conservative firebrand. And her name recognition was still high thanks to her time in the governor's mansion. Because of that a lot of constituents had told her to run for governor. But she couldn't. It would bring back too many bad memories that she had worked hard to repress. The affairs, the behavior (both on her husband's part) not to mention Buford's slow death. No, she would not return to Columbia. Stevens still held the seat anyway.

The Senate remained another option. It wouldn't be until 2020, and she'd start off on the bottom of the pile again, unfortunately. Even though she liked Amaras, he would probably become a competitor rather than a partner. Especially with 2024 on the horizon.

So for now, the question of what to do eluded Susanna and her staff. Being a full time mother was certainly not on the table. She wouldn't go back to the docile housewife she used to be. No, she would show Buford by making sure the woman he kept down made it where he never could, while he rolled his rotting corpse mutely.

The staffers and Harrington arrived at the hotel, and made their way to the conference room where one of her bundlers had organized the meeting. After years in Congress, her fundraising speech for big donor meetings such as this had been memorized. Like a well oiled machine, she would regurgitate it, adding even more personalization and theatrical flare than the time before. The thought of future potential loss could be put out of her mind for the time being. If it were to actually occur, Lord knows what she would do.

BREAKING NEWS
TENNESSEE REP. WILLIAM MULLINS ACCUSED OF SEXUAL ASSAULT, CHILD NEGLECT, VIOLENT THREATS BY ALLEGED EX-GIRLFRIEND

Image

Republican House member WIlliam Mullins is now being accused of multiple counts of abusive and threatening behavior while in an alleged secret relationship with a former campaign staffer, including allegedly not supporting and hiding being a father to a child.

Jennifer Davis claimed earlier today during an emotional press conference that she and the Congressman had begun a secret relationship at the beginning of 2012. Davis alleged that Mullins had taken a clear interest in her since they originally met in 2011, and that she agreed to go on dates with him a few months later. Davis also claimed that while she personally didn't want to take the relationship too seriously, the Representative had taken strong interest in becoming a couple, and allegedly manipulated her into staying with him for the next few years.

Congressman Mullins also allegedly tried to keep this relationship hidden from the public, fearing that his campaign staff would try to force him to focus more on the campaign rather than be with Davis. Davis claimed that Mullins had gotten her drunk one night and impregnated her, and refused to let her get an abortion. Davis alleged that this was the point where the relationship went from disturbing to abusive. She broke down in tears as she recounted that Mullins allegedly threatened her with physical violence if she tried to abort the alleged child, and refused to support her in taking care of him after giving birth. She presented the alleged birth certificate of Noah Robert Mullins as evidence against the Congressman, crying as she expressed how painful it was to have to raise the child knowing he allegedly wouldn't provide support.

Davis then moved on to allegations that Mullins not only committed sexual acts on her without consent multiple times over the years, but also gave out vague threats whenever she expressed a desire to leave. Mullins allegedly told her that a lot of people would have something to say to her if she left, and how she would not be believed and even be shamed for trying to take down an "upcoming icon" in the conservative movement. She claimed he told her how it was God's purpose for her to be with him, and that God would be extremely upset with her if she tried to go against his will. It allegedly got to a point where Mullins told Davis that the whole party would go for her head "figuratively and perhaps literally" if she didn't stay silent.

The two allegedly had only ended their relationship officially earlier this year, when Davis moved out of Shelbyville into Nashville. Davis ended the conference by calling on Congress to immediately impeach the Congressman for "Disgusting treatment of myself and my son" and also said she hoped law enforcement would take action against Mullins for his alleged misdeeds. She went on to say that women "should not be afraid to call out their abusers" and that more needs to be done to hold men accountable for their mistreatment of women.

This is not the first time Mullins has been caught up in serious sexual controversy. Last year a tape was leaked of Mullins making inappropriate comments about women while on a campaign bus in 2014.

We were not able to reach Representative Mullins or his office for comment.

@GeneralChandler thank you for your kind words General, the reason I had 85 campaign stops in 67 counties is because I devoted a full week to visiting Philadelphia and all its neighborhoods, like Germantown, Eastwick and Fairhill, and I’ve spent a big part of my life in and around Pittsburgh.

@GeneralChandler I’d be happy to have you onboard for the next time I stop in Philly, or to meet privately about issues concerning our cities.

I'll admit that I did indeed have a previous relationship with Jennifer Davis, but many of the things she said were either misleading, or outright false. It's important to hear both sides of this story.

To say that I - or the ALP for that matter - support Stalin is to be ignorant of both history and our ideology. People like us were one of the first to be killed by the Soviets. The Left SRs were banned and the Soviets abolished before Stalin even came to power.

On these sexual issues-I'm not going to try to sound out that whole acronym-I'd be interested in knowing where your personal thought lies."

"You don't have to answer if you're not comfortable doing it. I can respect a man's privacy of belief."

"Thank you for respecting my privacy and for your frankness. But i have nothing to hide... I am straight. Since my divorce I haven't been dating much but recently i've been dating a woman steadily... I think it could go the distance but my daughter comes first, she needs to approve. Thus far they are quite fond of one another. But given my position and ongoing race I am trying to keep it confidential, at least till I know for certain it is going to develop."

Eric broke from the steady demeanor he had held throughout the meeting to look genuinely embarassed, letting a few awkward seconds hang before unsuccessfully trying to clear it with a cough, not quite sure how to return the conversation back to its tracks. He coughed a second time.

"I didn't quite-well, I wasn't really looking to ask that, so much." Another awkward pause. "I was more asking about how you look at these sorts of things ethically and morally, those kinds of personal lines, not talking about the government doing what it does like we were earlier."
