Officer Brooks sees the car come to a slow stop and does not think about what must have happened, her demolished hand useless, she fumbles with the radio and tells the backup to floor it and the paramedics to do the same. The pain is immense, but she stays lucid and looks to Lopez as he speaks.
She watches him reach the car. She sees his stagger and throws up a little bit in her mouth before letting it pour out when he confirms her suspicions. The girl looked so young. Jesus Christ.
Brooks radio'd back.
"What was the situation inside?"

Officer Mark LopezIn a monotone voice to disguise his own disgust and sadness, Lopez radioed back, “From what it looks like,” he gazed at the way the body was slumped over the wheel, and the hole in the back of the seat. “Right through. Right through the head.”

Officer Brooks
Brooks made a direct line for the car after the words came through the radio. It was a bad idea, she decided. She was going to do it anyways. This kid wasn't about to see this alone.
When she reached his side she recoiled at the sight. That was more blood than she had ever seen in her life. When she was young she had shot a pronghorn with her dad. It was so much different then. This was not an animal.
She made herself stare. She had to quickly get acquainted with something she knew she had to do.
"It wasn't you. It was me. I know it was, I can feel it." she said, lying, albeit convincingly. She was silent for a few moments before finally turning away from the lifeless body.
"What about inside of the building."

Brooks nodded.
Brooks gently checked the woman's pulse via her wrist, and when nothing was there, she spoke into the radio, saying that the suspect was dead, that there was an unconscious man in the building with blunt force trauma wounds, and that everyone needed to hurry the hell up. Get a goddamned helicopter if you have to, just do something. Brooks noted the condition of her hand, and the horror of the situation, and said a small prayer.
"Lopez," she said, "Go stay with that man. I'll stay here."

Eric followed along, watching Anderson with a quiet eye. "I appreciate Raymond's praise," he noted in a fairly noncommittal tone. "I won't deny having my fair share of experience, but if I have special insights into the farming community, that's only from that experience here. My father was a salesman himself, not as successful as I hear yours was, but he made his living." Eric settled closer to the meat of the meeting. "Looks like we made it back to family talk, when that's not what we're here for. I've had half an eye on what you've been doing and saying in Pennsylvania, and I have my opinions on what I've seen and heard, but I like an older-fashioned kind of way, to let a man give an account of himself, without a middleman to change the message. I won't coach you on what I want to hear, just say whatever you want to say," he prompted, the vagueness intentional.

Florrick opened the Office door, beckoning Miller to take a seat, then taking her own behind the desk across from him before speaking.
'Mr Deputy, thank you so much for coming so quickly, i recommend we keep this brief before we both head back to the White House, we don't want to keep the President waiting too long'.
She then continued 'the reason I've asked you here is because i am incredibly concerned by your activity in recent weeks, both by launching an investigation into god knows what and then meeting with both the President and the Chief of Staff without informing this office or me. Even worse I only found out about this meeting after being informed by a very angry Chief of Staff, so please do tell me what is going on?.
Miller realized it was going to be hard to explain himself.
“Well, first I came to the White House to discuss investigating Diana Noble and asking Senator Kramer a few questions about his involvement, but the President would not let me, even though I was not planning to arrest him. Noble’s activity is suspicious, her neighbors are complaining, she’s getting ready to leave, and she’s stockpiling weapons.
Then, I informed Denisevich that illegally obtained evidence was gathered by the FBI that shows that former Secretary of the Interior Schlang was involved in a kidnapping. While the evidence is clear, it obviously can’t be used in court. Denisevich doesn't want the White House to be involved in this, and I understand that.”
