Secretary Bell's achievements, both past and present, are undeniable. My thoughts are with his family in these trying times and I'm praying for a quick recovery. This is not the time for political division, but unity. Let's not forget that.

While Secretary Bell is in critical condition failed gubernatiorial candidate Joh Stansky (also known for his anti-semitism) uses the oppurtunity to push for his socialist agenda. Disgusting.

I trust and hope for Secretary Bell's speedy recovery and return to duty. While he may not be a perfect man nor one whose politics appeal to everyone, he is an American who served this country and defended it. Let us remember this when we utilize our freedom of speech, something he helped ensure through his service.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. You can't even wish him a recovery without trying to throw political shade. It's divisive and totally unnecessary. There was no reason to put it any attacks on him or his party and you did it anyways

To understand one's differences with one another and then reconcile those differences during moments like these when united, this country prays and hopes for the Secretary's recovery is not any "attack" nor "divisive". It is the American way.

Cannon Congressional Office Building
Sen. Phillip Prejean

Prejean eyed-back over the document as Appleby spoke, grimacing in spite of his wish to facially display neutrality on the proposal, and then handed the text of the bill back toward the Representative. "It's not going to be a no." He remarked.

Prejean reclined back in his seat, holding his hands across stomach, his gaze meeting Appleby's. "I'll be frank with you, economics ain't something I consider my biggest forte, so I want to look into this more myself before agreeing or declining."

He paused for a moment, shrugging his shoulder. "Well, if that's okay with you. Few days works for you?"

Secretary Bell has earned my admiration, serving his country with the utmost in honor and distinction. He's proven himself capable further, as if that were necessary, to be Governor of the great people of Virginia. And now, I hope and pray we continue to have him serve our country in the capacity of Secretary of State. Admiral, sir, you and your family are in my prayers. Fight like hell. #SemperFortis

She had followed him and enjoyed the seating, glancing at the menu and saw many delicious options. She continued to consider and weigh her options when the Congressman spoke.

"I have, though you've been quite active and blitzing throughout the state. Hardly making it easy for one to catch up with you."

The Speaker nodded along, surprised a bit at the Governor's response. She answered.

"Of course, but other drugs like nicotine and even caffeine can spark greater and 'harder' addictions, because there is no such thing as a gateway drug but rather primers for addiction are what exist. But if we focus on regulating marijuana, regulating providers and suppliers, and ensuring a legal age like 21 years of age when brain development is significantly less affected, this proposition can be successful. It will protect our citizens and ensure revenue to give them healthcare."

She turned to the Republican and Progressive leaders.

"What are your thoughts?"

"What are your thoughts?"

"Look trying times for all of us to tighten our belts, and cut bloated and wasteful government spending. The 2016 election showed us there is a demand for conservative ideas in this great state, and I believe that we as Republicans should serve the people their demands. =With all due respect Governor, may I have the honor of showing you the New NY plan for healthcare in our nation." The Republican handed the Governor a glossy brochure of the Republican plan

"As you can see here we shall be tackling wasteful and bloated government spending. We shall have the following priorities:

Ending the silly rule that requires State contractors to have an affirmative action program, granting us a greater breadth of contractor thus making stuff cheaper

Cutting medicaid down to 100% of the poverty line, using government only as a means of last resort for the truly needy.

We are going to be recalculating COLA for Social Security to get more efficient allocation of our scarce resources

We will also need to get rid of the death tax in New York, negotiations are a non starter until we get rid of it.

We are going to cut social welfare spending by 20%, and implement more rigorous criteria

To modernize the budget and get a more accurate picture of spending, we shall switch accrual based system

Transportation by far the largest expense shall be cut back 33%

Since Head Start has been proven to be ineffective we will be ending it be using the money elsewhere

I have just described our agenda governor and I am sorry to say this, I truly am, but if you go ahead with the Democratic plan, I am afraid I will have no choice, but to shoot down the bill in the Senate."

She sat down as he spoke, crossing her legs and jotting down notes. She grabbed a copy of the brochure as well, reading it over and following along as the man described the plan.

"Governor, this is a plan with several holes. Firstly, tightening our belts is nothing more than a safe word the Republicans utilize for austerity measures that will push people off of their healthcare and entitlements, potentially forcing people into greater poverty or to be without essential healthcare. Think about New York's families. The election has nothing to do with anything but a failed nominee and an insurgent third-party. Not an endorsement of conservative ideas but the repulsion and rejection of corrupt corporate and pandering leaders like Danders and Walton. Simple as that."

She held up the brochure.

"Now, let's look at this. To strike down the affirmative action program will do little as many contractors in New York would still have to follow federal law and many already follow our requirements. It will save nothing significant, probably less than lowering our own salary, something I hope can also be included in the Democratic proposal."

"Cutting Medicaid to the simple and rather backward 100% poverty line is simply too drastic. It would push thousands in this state off of Medicaid, many who rely on it and who would be disqualified for simply making slightly amount more, an ultimately negligible difference. Not including how the poverty line is often simply unrepresentative of how much it takes to support a family and does not factor many costs, like this recession and the impacts of new legislation like the healthcare cost or the Dudley tax."

"As per the recalculation of the cost of living adjustment, as long as it is a thorough, nonpartisan, and effective endeavor, that is an action the party would be willing to support. As I said before, there are many changes that have occurred affecting the COL and adjustments are necessary."

"The death tax? Please explain why. It seems cutting sources of revenue is hardly what you do when you are 'tightening' one's belt."

"That cut in social welfare is far too drastic and the party will not move forward with such a ridiculous and damaging austerity measure. As per changing criteria, I believe the same argument against the change in Medicaid and the poverty line applies here again. It clearly is simply a way to cut benefits and necessary programs from the neediest in the state."

"Please explain how the accrual-based system would benefit the state, and perhaps explain it to the Governor more clearly."

"And finally, such a drastic and similarly purely austerity decision to cut transportation fails to recognize exactly what those programs are doing. Those are programs to help promote infrastructure projects across this state that will not only attract businesses and people but will also provide jobs and employment throughout this state. Cutting that is exactly the opposite of what we need to be promoting during a recession and an economic downturn."

"And Head Start is exactly what we need right now, to help provide early childhood education and supplement programs when parents and families most in need are falling short and this recession is crushing economic properity."

She sighed and stood up, facing the Governor and the Republican.

"I just pointed out the damaging effects of this agenda, an agenda that unlikes the Democratic ones smells purely of partisan policies and shoots down any chance at a tripartisan solution (She nods at the Progressive). We must hammer out the contentious parts of our agenda and remove the damaging and downright dangerous austerity options proposed in this plan."

She turns to face the Republican.

"Your party controls the Senate and the Governorship Leader. So if you block a solid and actually effective plan, it is only you all that will suffer. Do not forget that your majority in the Senate is a close one and more New York Republicans, liberal ones at that, would rather flip to vote for a plan that will work and restore healthcare, rather than the Democrats and Progressives in the GA voting for such an desperate and drastic measure as the one you propose."

Appleby's Office, Cannon House Office Building, Washington D.C.

"Sure," Appleby agreed with a shrug, taking the bill and immediately setting it down on the desk without any apparent issue with the date, nor enthusiasm for it.

"Sounds like we're done. You can take a few days too," he indicated to the quiet Kimbrell.

"Thanks for signing," he redirected back in Prejean's direction. "Bye."

Done with the conversation, Appleby tucked the kilo bar back into his pocket and booted up his old-fashioned desktop, taking no further explicit notice of his guests.

I am deeply shocked and saddened by the news regarding Secretary Bell. A good man and a patriot, Robert and I will be praying for his swift recovery.

@TheVirginiaCongressman

As a Virginian, I am very saddened to hear of Secretary Bell's serious health incident. While I served as Attorney General of our great Commonwealth, it was between his terms, but I know from other experience that he is a good man. I sincerely hope that he will fully recover and return to service as our nation's Secretary of State.

@MIRepWalsh

Abelard Bell is an American hero and a role model for all those interested in public service. He is a tough man and a fighter above all else, and I sincerely hope that he pulls through. I believe that the circumstances surrounding this sudden incident should be examined closely, and if foul play is determined to be involved, a full-scale investigation should be carried out.

@ReverendMoore

Governor Bell's sudden illness is a tragedy, and the prayers of my congregation, my wife, and I, will be with him as he recovers. As a man of faith and of strong moral fibre, Governor Bell will be aided by our Lord Jesus Christ, and he will overcome this challenge. What is more uncertain is if this incident is natural in origin, or if Governor Bell was targeted. I expect that our fantastic men and women in Intelligence will have the answer for us soon enough.

Abelard Bell is a statesman and a patriotic American. I was proud to vote for his confirmation, and am proud to have him representing our nation abroad. I will be praying for him and his family in this trying and difficult time.

I am very concerned about the health incident suffered by Secretary Bell overseas. I know that he will be under the care of the best physicians available in the region, and for that I am glad, but the sudden onset of severe illness is worrying and raises questions about external factors. I will be praying for him.
