Well I will say that it will need more detail first, and you need to get everything squared with the events of the rp so far

I'd definitely recommend fleshing this out a bit - at least working more on the biography, strengths/weaknesses.

The biography is startlingly short - it doesn't need to be a novel like mine are, but there is no detail. It leaves lots of questions that need to be answered. It glosses over his early life, which I think is the smallest issue with it. More importantly, what did he do during his time with the FBI? How did he get employed with the FBI? What was his standing with the FBI when he left? Florida House of Representatives isn't a cakewalk of an election, I'd assume. What district did he run in? Who did he run against? Characteristics of the person he ran against? What was his campaign platform that he ran on? By what margin did he win the election? Could he have feasibly that office/election as his first time running for office? How well did he know the Governor? What did he do during his time as Attorney General - presumably not a lot since he resigned one year later? Why did he resign after such a short term in that office? Would he have feasibly been appointed to that office, with as little detail as your bio gives us I'm led to believe that there were better choices out there. Why would he be appointed deputy attorney general when he'd not previously been working in the federal attorney general's department/office? Seems very unlikely that he'd be randomly chosen over somebody already in that department.

Beyond all those questions, a big one: Years? There are no mention of years or dates or times anywhere in the biography, when did he run for these offices? When was he appointed? When did he graduate? When did he work for the FBI? When did he resign/leave offices?

Well hey there!

Some information you might want to consider; the current AG is a Democrat, you could probably add some info on the relationship that he has with the AG. I’d also recommend adding some information on his confirmation hearing, policy positions etc.

The Attorney General of Florida is also an elected Cabinet position, so he’d probably have to run for the AG race. (It’s also unlikely for him to be appointed AG as the Governor of Florida is a Democrat).

Overall, flesh out the biography.

EDIT: Didn’t we have a Florida Attorney General for that Ferdinand thing?

Character Position/Role/Job: Deputy Attorney General

Character State of Origin: FL
Character State of Residence: Washington, DC
Character Party Affiliation: Republican
Main Strengths: Responsible, dedicated/determined, experienced, has argued Supreme Court cases, great debater.
Main Weaknesses: Stubborn, temper, partisan, not very good at public speaking (he is okay at it).
Biography:
Early Life-
Austin Miller was born in Washington D.C. in 1964, and he was interested in politics from a young age as a result. His grandparents immigrated to the U.S. and worked low-paying jobs, but his dad graduated from NYU and became a corporate lawyer, and Miller followed his footsteps by graduating Harvard Law School in 1989. He got married to his wife Sofia in 1996.
Legal Career-
In 1990, a year after working for his dad, Miller became a General Attorney at the FBI and held the position for two years, before he became bored. When asked why he quit the FBI in a town hall style campaign rally, he said “they wanted me to provide counsel and maintain the legality of federal investigations. When I became a lawyer, I wanted to fight battles in a courtroom, not advise an agency.” Shortly after, with a recommendation from the Deputy Director of the FBI, Miller was hired by the Solicitor General to serve as a lawyer in the Office of the Solicitor General in December 1992. He helped prepare arguments for the Solicitor General in several Supreme Court cases in 1993, before the Solicitor General resigned.
Political Career-
When the Solicitor General retired in 1993, he recommended to the Attorney General that Miller take his place, which Miller accepted. However, while Miller won several Supreme Court cases for the U.S. government. In the 2001 case Shrub v. Blood, he wrote an amicus curiae brief which stated that Shrub, the Republican President, should win the case because it violated the 14th amendment. This led to a large amount of backlash because the media accused him of political bias, since he was a known conservative. He resigned before Shrub took office.

In 2003, he was appointed by Governor Shrub as the Florida Attorney General, and used his powers to root out corruption and expose lobbyists who bribed state politicians. His firing in 2005 raised many red flags, with local media outlets alleging that corruption may have been afoot in Tallahassee.

Miller won a State Senate Republican primary in 2004, and won the campaign with almost no effort, because due to gerrymandering, he was the only candidate on the ballot. He did not run again in 2010, and stayed out of politics until 2015 when he was appointed Solicitor General by President Winston. While many journalists were confused as to why Winston would appoint a Republican, Winston stated that Miller was “a centrist and more of a libertarian than a Republican.” When Gene Eric took the Presidency in late 2016, Miller resigned.
Serving as the Deputy A.G.-
After President Reed took office, he appointed a Democrat as the Attorney General, even though the party was falling apart due to the recent formation of the Progressive Party. However, since the courts were becoming increasingly partisan, President Reed appointed Miller as a the Deputy Attorney General shortly after taking office in order to “have a moderating effect on the DOJ.” Although he is a constitutional originalist, he gets along well with the Attorney General, and doesn’t bring politics into most conversations. Miller oversees the FBI, the Office of the Solicitor General, and the U.S. Attorney’s office.

He'd be 53 instead of 55, it's 2017 in the roleplay rather than 2019.

Admittedly, I know nothing about the office of the Solicitor General, but I'd assume that there would be a better candidate for replacing him than somebody who'd worked there for a few months. The position is also an appointment by the President, not by the Attorney General.

The position of Florida Attorney General is an elected office, you'd not be appointed to that office by the Governor. The election you'd run in would be the 2002 election.

What seat was he running for? What campaign did he run on? What is the likelihood that the Democratic party wouldn't run a candidate for the seat, especially when they may have more experienced politicians?

The archipelago territory wrote:He did not run again in 2010

Six years? You mean U.S. Senate, not Florida State Senate? In that case there's no way the Democrats wouldn't run a candidate for such an important office, you wouldn't run unopposed.

I did fix the first two issues, and am fixing the rest, but I want to make a few comments
1) I meant 4 not 6 years for a state campaign, which I fixed.
2) in many small conservative FL districts, Democrats can’t get enough signatures to be on the ballot for state senate.
3) in FL the Governor candidate for a party (in real life Ron Desantis) endorses an AG and put them on his ad campaign, and they pretty much automatically got elected because of it. I don’t see why something similar couldn’t happen here. Btw I changed “appointed” to “elected”
Thanks for pointing out the continuity errors though.

When the Solicitor General retired in 1993, he recommended to the Attorney General that Miller take his place. After being asked to take the job by the President, Miller accepted. While many people in the DOJ were confused as to how he got the job, it was most likely because he wrote several key legal arguments for crucial Supreme Court cases.

Hi guys, it’s me, Helowi. I created the character Governor Barry Chalmers, and haven’t been as active as I really should be. I would like to apologize for this. At the time I entered the RP, I ended up getting very stressed with something at the time and ended up slowly putting Nationstates to the side for a while. After I tried to get back into it, I forgot that I had entered this RP for a while. Recently, I was reminded of this RP and the character I made. I was wondering if I could rejoin the RP with Governor Chalmers again if that’s fine.

Chalmers was the Governor of North Carolina, wasn't he?

Sweet. I’m gonna try and do something in the next day or two. My plans when I last left off were two declare a state of emergency in order to combat the opioid crisis. I’m also going to have my character make an endorsement soon.
