Hmm.

Mondale will be making herself available to speak with all the Senators who voted against her if they wish.

Priority of course to the GOP Senators.

Buck has the power to control how Mondale will present herself.

Approving her will bring her closer to the admin, either empowering her or slowly wearing away at her depending on if he makes any stipulations.

Striking her down, aside from causing GOP craziness, will wear her down majorly or snowball a potential competitor farther down the road.

Dennis now has huge favors to repay, or he would have caused a far larger clusterf*ck

That last part was a quote from a sarcastic character, repurposed to be not sarcastic.

It’s really insightful to hear the characters talking bluntly about what they want to run for office.

I’ve struggled with articulating that myself because I didn’t want to pigeonhole Sydney as some power-hungry shrew.

Which partially explains my delayed answer to the LC Q and A questions.

Part of it is chance but there's more to it than that. The Sippi Sens were a decent bet to go Aye but got their odds shortened by a few things relative to AL. There's typically a little home state boost to lobbying between Sens especially as the senior that was good for Kramer's otherwise flawed and sometimes directly counterproductive lobbying rating. There's a marginal edge for AL over MS on state influence (AL had the faster/more decisive Agenda 21 leg shutdown over MS but that's very slim) and Lock's brief lobby fell well but the biggest hit actually came from Williams basically doing a whip himself publicly, which ends up being a reverse incentive especially with how direct he came out with it. Even as unpopular as he is there's still some ideological match and influence, but doubling down on association on a vote where there's already some leeriness about breaking a whip and the appearance it gives did a good job of cooling potential MS opposition.

With the literal zero margin for error Denis and Reed ironically should thank him for possibly saving the nominee

This is the realistic version of that movie, then.

Nope, vote's over and the politician I'm thinking of wouldn't be able to influence it anyways

With a tie vote obviously any vote could be the decisive one but I'm thinking Lock's is sort of the keystone one for the GOP, didn't get an offer and she very easily could have joined the other side

Obviously Brank for the Dems
