Elementals 3: The White Rose (OOC, FANTASY, OPEN)

Nah. I really had no idea what I was doing back then plus I'm not sure I wanna bring another person on board, at least at the moment.

I think none of us had any idea what to do back then. I hardly remember any plot ideas I may have had after that ruined town the characters were heading towards when it fizzled out, which probably meant I had no idea.

While scrolling through the pages of the Elementals 1 OOC I came across this:


Would you lot care to know a language with worse vowels? Persian Farsi: a language where the long vowels "oo" & "ee" might actually be pronounced "v" & "y" because they share the same letter as those sounds, and where the short vowels literally aren't written down unless you're reading Farsi written for tiny babies. You just have to guess which short vowel to use in a word and where to stick them in if you've never read/heard it before.

Geez, that sounds pretty awful. Kinda reminds me of what little I've read up on hieroglyphs, those didn't have vowels at all either.

I've since learned that the reasonable way to learn another language is speaking it first and then learning to read and write, like a little kid, instead of the way I learned English, but still

I have a battle idea, but I don't know if I should wait for the next Const post or not...

Yeah, I actually never really planned ahead for my characters back then.

I still don't sometimes, but now it's a conscious decision to just go with the flow

And yes, but older games that didn't have a lot of voice acting, so it was just written word. I learned to read and write first of all.

Yeah, I figured he's quite fixated on Katya not just because he's interested in her, but also what she can possible tell him about his past. She's sort of the only access he has into the Garmiccian nobility and his heritage that he never knew he had or just never cared to follow.

Interesting. We started off learning a lot of Farsi reading too, though that might have been influenced by having to learn a whole new alphabet as well as doing it online.

I started writing out an idea in my worldbuilding notebook about how Ilfalia became independent in the first place, since their lore is pretty skimpy. Four or so pages and 2 family trees in I still have only a paragraph or so about things in Ilfalia itself that lead up to it, but I do have a 4-way Galllian civil war, the War of the Sunken Emperor, that precedes it which I am in the midst of describing. While writing about a disastrous battle in it I gave one of the commanders the name Romund the Bold. I veered off into describing his past heroic exploits, making him into a Nature Elemental that quested around a region near modern-day Trodwood, culminating in a duel with a Darkness Elemental who was burning down villages and the Daemonne that was training him. When I left off I was describing the exploits of his childhood friend who had left their hometown to seek adventure but came back in the nick of time to help him defend a monastery from one of this Darkness Elemental's chief minions.

On a more relevant note for the IC, I have replies mostly ready for Zark and Ameri. I wasn't sure about Kass, since Erosen is going off to do secret things.
