Advert is up. Let me know if you think I missed anything important that newcomers might like to know.

No suggestions here, looks pretty good and summarizes everything well.

I'd say I'll roll the advert around my circles but it hasn't achieved much all the past times I advertised this, so :P

There's something to stop being the one holding up that scene.

I've spoken with him over telegram. He said he's too busy with school at the moment, but he'd like to come back once he graduates in May. In the meantime he told me the general plan he had for the KatyaKrew, so I'll be temporarily writing them.

Sorry about disappearing this week; school stuff got piled up on me. I'm working on the update now. I don't think I'll have it finished tonight, but maybe tomorrow.

Also you may have already noticed the mention of me joining the Air Force from my signature. I had an update from my recruiter today that I may possibly have a date for basic training soon, and that it might entail me shipping out in mid-May. Nothing is official yet, but the 8.5 week hiatus imposed by my being at BMT may come sooner rather than later.

We also took a literal multi-month break IC from posting around the end of last year. Don't see why anything different would drive us away. This is one of the two (really only one) RP's I'm involved in that I actually care about, given that I've invested a lot of time into it.

Indeed...
Elementals are born with the ability to wield one of the following powers: Fire, Water, Ice, Wind, Lightning, Nature, Earth, or Metal. Light and Darkness are the other two Elements in the universe, but they are only granted to Elementals that prove their worth to the respective deity through truly righteous or wicked conduct.

I'm sorry for the total absence recently. Life has been pretty chaotic, and I'm finishing up my last bits of school.

I was thinking of maybe creating an older gentleman, some artificer-type character - someone who had the ability to create magical items but not much in terms of pure offensive magical capabilities. You lot seem to have that covered anyway.

Had the idea of him also being able to infuse his power into a living item (or "beings") and unlock a fleeting ability in the otherwise non-magical people (which eventually fades if he doesn't "recharge" them).

Seemed to me the God of Creation possibly leaned close to this but I haven't to foggiest whether there would even be elementals of "creation".

I don't think there would be something like a creation elemental. One thing that occurs to me that might fit your character concept is if your character was an Elemental (of any of the regular eight types) who was simply adept at imbuing objects with his Elemental magic and not so much at directly using his/her raw element. I think Const once said during conversation that Elementals can enchant objects, so if I'm not misremembering that, this might work :P

The Return of the OP

Postby Constaniana » Sat May 02, 2020 6:46 am

Sorry for being gone this week. I was just more busy than I expected to be between school and getting ready for air force stuff. On the upside, I finally got the Mrs. to watch Lord of the Rings for the first time, and we finished Return of the King last night.

I figured throwing a clause that drinking demon blood and then accepting weird gifts from sp00py dream Daemonnesses would also grant such powers would just confuse the newcomers. :p

Aye, school has been hectic for me too. This week I had to do two exams in art history, a 1000+ word essay on the U.K's handling of coronavirus for global affairs, and more refining of my research paper for I.R. about Chinese imperialism via the B.R.I, where the challenge is I can only have three pages to both give the historical background and argue why it affects international relations. At least my physics class has just been "plz read powerpoints thnx".

As Zark said, there aren't Elementals in service to Jaehlhadon, but there are Elementals skilled at enchanting objects, a process referred to in-universe as mageforging. Mageforged objects are mostly relics from the Villdera era, although it's certainly possibly your character had the skill passed down to him. Mageforged equipment generally serves as a multiplier for an Elemental's own magic, and it can be made from either metal or fabric. I had an idea that larger pieces of fabric would be better at containing magic, which would help explain why Elementals like big flowing capes and/or robes.

My intense sadness that now that I have the most time off, the least activity happens.

It's funny because I'm assuming a whole bunch of character development is probably about to happen which in turn will seem right to the authors because of the real amount of time spent between posts, but IC will seem to be quick because the time between posts. lol

Safe to say, to make up for lost time and effort and missed out on things, we can go ahead with characters already got their own character developments. I feel we should discuss this a bit thoroughly.

Also, I greatly apologised for not being active on this great RP. Didn't realised it was moving forward until now. :x

Well, what should I do now, IC-wise? I'm not sure how I can get Aisha and Temu to catch up.
