Update on the update: the portion detailing the characters finally going to breakfast is complete. I am currently working on a classic part of Elementals Updates, the Ominous Geopolitical Foreshadowing, after which I'll move things forward to the 24th of December and have the PC's set off on their next task.

I should have the last part of the update done soon, hopefully by this weekend. In the mean time enjoy this background post. Let me know if anyone has objections to how I had your characters act at breakfast, or if there's general questions about what's going on.

I've recently obtained some time off, so I'll be polishing off my post and submitting it soon. Who knew school took up so much time? Given that I dropped out of high school, I'm probably one of the least qualified to speak as to superior academic ability. This is rough.

The update is up. One concept I had with it that I forgot to post immediately after the IC post was the idea of the player characters having the same cryptic dream Lisoette did. Or perhaps they had it, but forgot portions after waking up. You don't have to do it if you don't feel like it would fit with your character, though.

That's funny, I was thinking of including something to do with dreams in my post as well. Having it be the same thing probably saves me quite a bit of effort too, and Trish does get strange magical visions more often than the average person :P

I imagine Eric wouldn't even notice unless someone pointed it out. I wager his sleeping mind is full of stuff twice as weird as that shared dream.

Glad I could be of service haha. I think that's an interesting way of differentiating between your two Ice Elementals, aside from "one is a boy, one is a girl". Tristan gets straightforward encounters with Froenstia, whereas Trish gets esoteric visions. It correlates to their fighting styles as well.

What if Eric remembered stuff from all his past lives when he's dreaming? Or could see through the 4th wall?

Yep. Direct vs indirect combat and all. Which is entirely unintended, amusingly :P Trish is also intended to have more raw magical power while Tristan has more finesse and technique, but I haven't really had the chance to go into that this season and I dunno if that would contradict the whole Elemental Champion role thing.

Trish having more raw power could still work. Elemental Champions are naturally gifted and powerful with their Elements, but they're not inherently the most powerful Elementals in the world (at least when they first start), hence why teenagers can get the job. Tristan having more social skills could also translate into being an ambassador of Froenstia's will, something that falls under Champion responsibilities.

Heck, it could be part of how Eric has so many stories to tell and knows so many different things. What if some of his stories are him inadvertently retelling adventures prior incarnations had?

Looking at the map and my scale of mileage (I think I've posted it here previously, but if not I can elaborate on it in a followup post), I discovered I made the Thin Isles a good bit larger than I had come to think of them. The Isle of Strond is 40 miles wide. East Aigth varies between approximately 20-40 miles wide depending on where you are, but is about 160 miles long. The whole archipelago has a diameter of 325 miles.
